- Not my typical video but uploaded in case it would help others. This past week my clothes dryer would spin but not heat so the clothes wasnt drying. This dryer is 20 years old and still works because I would rather fix a part than get a new one because they "look good".

Got a washer and dryer as well in 2001. Washer went out last year and still have the dryer. Fixed it several times!! Feel the same about not throwing anything away that can be fixed.

Last week I repaired our dryer that we got in 1987. Much better than having to buy a new one. Now I can get back to playing with the Club Car!

The older machines seem to be built better and last longer. I inherited my mom’s old set when she passed. We brought them home and swapped them out, giving our newer set to our son and daughter-in-law

I am widowed and on budget so I try to fix things myself.
(Also I think the older appliances are better manufactured and simpler to fix)
So I try, so far have been able to fix my portable dishwasher twice (with a knowledgable friend) and my washing machine (by replacing a spring that cost only $10)

Hey man I checked and do not have continuity at the lower thermostat of the heating element. However, I don’t have that orange lead connecting to the high limit, just the two reds. Is that a deeper issue or will replacing the heating element this same way likely get me back to working?
