THANKS for saving me $300 and a whole morning's time. A plumber had said he'd have to change the cartridge (cost $100) and charge me $200 labor. Your solution absolutely makes good sense using the cold water pressure to flush out the debris in the mixing valve. You're good for dinner if you happen to come by the SF Bay Area! 😜

WOW, you saved me 200 bucks and made my wife happy! it worked. i had already gotten a new valve from Kohler, installed it, and no new water pressure. Then, I found your lesson. Thanks!!!

Oh man, we've dealt with exactly this problem in our house since we moved in in 2019. Had it come up in the inspection report and even had a plumber by to fix it without luck. I just did this trick and it worked perfectly! Thank you!

This was EXACTLY what I had. I was very lucky and saw your video FIRST before watching a whole bunch of irrelevant videos. It worked perfectly! The debris that came out was exactly like yours! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Your instructions were clear and understandable and right on point.

This was exactly what I needed! Can't tell you how many times my husband took apart and cleaned the faucet nozzle only to have negligible improvement. We were talking about replacing the whole faucet when I "tried one more search", and found your video. You absolutely identified the problem. My hot water stream wasn't even strong enough to suds up the dish soap in the basin, now it has REAL pressure, like it did when we installed the sink 10 years ago. Thank you! Thank you! I can't believe I'm actually kind of looking forward to washing dishes tomorrow! (But don't tell anyone)

Glad you found my video and I'm glad you fixed your problem. I was also excited to be able to wash dishes with high pressure, hot water again. Washing my dishes before took forever and was a real drag that took forever. Thanks for letting me know my video helped.

Thank you so much for this video. I did exactly what you did in the video and my hot water pressure is totally fixed now. It has been low since I purchased my home in 2014. Wasn't quite sure what was wrong; I cleaned the aerator and everything; still nothing; but this worked. Thank you!!

You are the god among men. My hot water was flowing a heck of a lot less than what you had going. But, you method worked like a charm. I also followed one of the guy's below by stopping off with faucet flow with my hand. Not sure which one did the job (or both), but it is flowing really nicely now. The wife loves me again....for today.

My mom installed a new faucet in our kitchen last week and the hot water was just dribbling out. She was too lazy to figure out why so i did some research and tried several methods i found online for cleaning air locks all to no avail. I was pretty convinced we'd have to call a plumber until i stumbled upon your video. Im a 26 year old female here with no experience in this area and this worked like a charm! I thought maybe the hot would be coming out a little more than a dribble but its coming out just as pressurized as the cold! I am feeling so proud of myself, thank you so much!!!

Thank you, Thank you!! I could not for the life of me figure out how to fix this until I saw your video. One additional step I did was to reverse the hot and cold lines and flushed that way, seemed to get additional remnants of black plastic pieces out. Again, thank you for sharing!!

These are excellent instructions - clear, sensible and thorough. Recently had a new dishwasher installed and immediately afterward the hot water flow decreased. The installation must have jarred loose some debris because sizeable chunks came out in the back flush. Problem solved in about 5 min. Only had to watch the video once to be able to fix the problem. Thanks so much!

I have the same issue although pressure is extremely low on my Moen when the faucet valve is in extreme cold or hot. I cleaned aerator and no go so bought new handle , no change since it was not the root of problem. The reason I did all this was my town home has thin cheap pvc water lines and my fitting are stuck I am afraid if I use to much force I will break the valve and all hell will break loose. I had a cheap valve break once and it caused so much home damage in 3 minutes. How can I loosen the fitting with out damage?

    IT MAKES SENSE!
They mix in the faucet, so if you open the back side of one line, you have 2 openings for the cold water to come out, the normal one, and the back-flow into the hot-water line! Thank you, this was not clear from other "pro" videos on the subject!
My hot water valve won't close all the way, so I can't remove the line yet, but hey, I'm a WHOLE lot closer to knowing what the job is in the first place! Thanks!!

I did this PLUS one other step: When I had the hot water hose off, I removed and cleaned out the little filter that sits just inside the end of it. It was about 90% clogged with I don't know what. I wouldn't have even known to do it if the filter hadn't fallen out in the bucket. Now the hot water flows at full force like it did when it was new. The plumber we had around last week said we needed to get a new faucet ($350+), which they could install for $325! These two steps took me fifteen minutes and saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you so much for the video!

I didn't think to run the water out back through from the faucet. I just cleaned the scale blockage at just the end. It flows better but not at optimum flow. I'm trying your way. Thanks for posting this.

This video gave me a better understanding of how the hot and cold lines mix in the manifold. My hot water in the kitchen and master bath were both barely a trickle. I completely closed the hot water valve in both sinks. Then turned on cold water, and then reopened the hot water valve, then turned the faucet lever up hot. Lo and behold, it worked for the bathroom sink. Went and tried it in the kitchen sink too. Full pressure and hot water out of both. Shocked, but happy as hell it worked.

If you can block the flow out of faucet at the aerator,it will force even more water back through the disconnected water line while doing this. Great video, thanks!

Thanks for your video! You saved me a call to my plumber. I flushed out a piece of a rubber gasket. One suggestion, though, for an addition to your process: Turn off the hot water supply from your hot water heater (and also the cold water supply to the heater) to provide an extra margin of safety in case the hot water valve to your faucet is jammed or broken. (I learned this the hard way.) Perhaps another piece of the rubber gasket that I flushed out is stuck in the hot water shut off valve, keeping it from closing completely and causing a gusher when I removed the tube to my faucet.
