    That little screen you took out with the needle nose pliers fell out of mine, I put it back together without the screen and had a lot more water pressure, I believe it is a water resticter, something to do with a government regulation.

    • @texasyardmanandmore3822
      @texasyardmanandmore3822  Рік тому +1

      Yes, it can be run without it, but not sure if your nozzle will get gunked up inside later on. It serves as a screen to keep deposits out of the faucet head.

    Good video. One thing though, you did the spray faucet disassembly over the sink. The filters could easily drop down the disposal or drain. I suggest extracting the filters from the detached sprsyer unint over a work table.

    Great Video. Thanks for your help! I didn't know about the small filter in the top that you needed to pull out with the needle nose pliers. I had already replaced the one on the bottom that you took out with your screwdriver. The original packaging I had, came with a plastic tool to take it out with. I am grateful for the video of this faucet. Very well done. However I could not snap the hose back in place. Now the little button is stuck halfway between two notches. I even got some muscle help from my daughter and her boyfriend. And still won't snap into place. I'm going to try a wrench and something to protect the plastic.

    Thanks from Long Island!! My faucet was brand new with low flow. At first I thought there was a flow limiter in there, then I took it apart and found some green granular stuff clogging it up. The pressure is pretty good now but I wonder if that screen aerator part you unscrewed can be replaced with one that would allow more pressure.

    They make a little plastic wrench that makes it easier to remove the filter. Some Delta faucets come with one but they sell them at hardware stores.

  • @corneliust5518
    @corneliust5518 Рік тому +2

    I have 2 Delta faucets like these. The kitchen plugged up before and I used this method with great success. Now a year later, both the kitchen and laundry room faucet developed very slow flow. I fixed the laundry room faucet with this method, bit the second time I tried to do the kitchen head, the steel faucet screen with the tiny plastic tip would not pull out. It was stuck tight and I started to break off little black pieces of plastic. I did not want to break off that plastic tip completely, so I left that screen in place and poured the solution into the area above it. I let it percolate in place and then scrubbed a little with Advanced Gum teeth cleaners (the kind used instead of dental floss to clean between your teeth). I could see white plaque coming loose and so I rinsed and repeated and teased out the lime deposits, And it worked perfectly! So it is an alternate way to clean the steel screen piece, especially if yours gets stuck like mine.

    I have a similar model head and have taken it apart the same. Thanks for the reassuring instructions I’ve done it right. However I was wonder is the little white “check valve” thingy on the inlet that’s behind the first screen a flow restrictor? Or is the flow restrictor located somewhere else on this sink that can be removed? I have decent water pressure (74 psi) and all the screens are clean but it takes forever to fill water pitchers and other things I use the sink to fill. If I take the head off and fill the same objects it takes 1/4 the time.

    • @texasyardmanandmore3822
      @texasyardmanandmore3822  Рік тому

      As far as I know there are only the two filters as shown in the video. Usually just cleaning the little screen is the only filter needing cleaned.

    • @josephderby561
      @josephderby561 Рік тому

      @@texasyardmanandmore3822 I pulled it apart more and it's just two check valves after the screen. Not sure for this but even with everything removed it still had the same flow rate. I clocked it filling a glass before and after removing it all.

    • @texasyardmanandmore3822
      @texasyardmanandmore3822  Рік тому +1

      @@josephderby561 might be that you have very hard water deposits that made it past your filters and clogged your check valves. May want to soak the whole head in vinegar (submerged fully) then see what the outcome is after the cleaning. Or it could be you have a faulty head. Might need to replace it

    You bloody genius!!! The screen where head meets the hose was my culprit!!

    • @texasyardmanandmore3822
      @texasyardmanandmore3822  8 місяців тому

      Yep. That pesky little screen causes low flow but it is needed. Otherwise, you will gunk up your faucet head and then you will have to buy a new one. Thank you for watching. Please subscribe for more TYMM DIY videos. :)

      Glad this helped you Emanuela. I just had to clean mine for the second time. You can use white vinegar as a cleaner also.

    Sooo very helpful! I had a hard time finding the Varos version I got from Costco, I could have broke my faucet if I would have followed those other videos telling me to pop the piece off to get to the screw!!

    This was great!!! We're senior citizens and don't usually attempt plumbing repairs, but Kevin's detailed video made it simple for us to clean out the strainer in our faucet. The only suggestion I'd make is to block the drain in the sink to prevent the little strainers from possibly falling down there. It didn't happen to us fortunately but we have a wire strainer in the drain all the time. Thank you Kevin...your video made our day!
