FIXED. Happened to me too. Removed the hot side hose From the supply pipe (which was the side that was restricted). Put the end into a bucket. Turned on the cold side and wiggled the handle up and down and back and forth til it blasted a chunk of crap out the hose. Reconnected and all is good! Didn’t have to replace a $200 faucet
I put a clip (like for a bag of chips) on the black water line that connects to the faucet head to keep it from retracting back in. That happened once and it took me over an hour to feed it back out from under the sink and then grab it so I could reconnect it.
Thank you so much for your great video! I had the exactly same issue. I tried a couple of things by myself but did not work. Then I saw your video and followed the same exact way to use cold water pressure to push out debri in a hot water line. It worked great! Now my faucet is like new. I was thinking to buy new like your customer. You saved me $200! You are a great plumber!
Had the same problem, thought it was the recently purchased delta foundation hot side of valve or line feed. After purchasing another unit, discovered that I had the same problem? Recalling that I had just changed out a bad shutoff valve in the basement on the hot line from the water heater; I decided to check the new flex line under the sink. Found major blockage, debris from the old valve that was replaced earlier. Unfortunately, I did three installs and extractions of the unit.
thanks. My new kitchen faucet was not working on the hot side, would work then jam stopped. I did what you said in the video and it work! Thanks so much.
Good day evening sir, I’m a health caregiver but I can fix simple broken things in our house. What I cannot fix, is our main bedroom shower, hot and cold flow is really weak. Took out the water restrictor of that showerhead. The two other bathroom water flow is strong and no issue at all. I just change the moen cartridge 1222 and is still the flow is weak. Could not find any valve that I can increase that flow of that water shower. Thank you sir and appreciate any insight!
This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).
I had slow hot water and thought I needed a faucet too. After checking every possible failure before that I found the problem. The gasket in the shutoff valve disintegrated and was blocking the flow. I replaced the guts of the valve with a new stem and gasket. Now I have full pressure hot water.
That's exactly what I did after taking apart my cartridge and finding bits of black rubber. That was before I installed a new high arc faucet 10 years ago. Now I seem to have a similar problem, and I'm waiting for a reply from the tech guy as to how to remove the cartridge.
Looks like im going to have to replace my Moen also... water flows great once the head comes off but couldnt get head to work with good pressure anymore .. Couldnt see a clog in the back of spray head or front when i took the front cap off
Exactly the same problem I am having. I enjoyed your video! I cannot see the Allen’s screw. What I’m asking is if the water is flowing through the lines get a new faucet? Thank you
Hats off to plumbers. They have more patience than I can understand. All I've known have been mild mannered, laid back guys. I despise plumbing. Some without calling a professional, even though I should have more often, especially those jobs so difficult I've felt like just setting the house on fire instead. I'm here because I'm trying to figure out how to solve a no pressure problem on the hot side of my kitchen Pfister faucet. Good video because I haven't tried the back flush thing. Thanks. Great video, what was the hex key you used to adjust it? I have the same issue, ordered online a 7/64 (which I found online was the right one for this) but it didn’t work either
they needed a new moen cartridge (1255) installed / replaced. moen sends them for free. also, could’ve taken apart shower head to clean part. start by removing black sprayer button (pop off and slide). i’ve done the research and plan to repair mine in the morning

Out hot water pressure was very low for months and saw this video and took my faucet spray head off like you did but didn't hold onto the hose and of course the hose went into the faucet housing 🙄. Hi CB1 and AB I think I can help you. I think the problem is in where the wand hose connects under the sink to the valve. There is usually is some kind of quick connector that connects the two together. Sometimes in that fitting is a check valve that will have to be cleaned. I have ran into this problem more than once and with more than one brand. I hope this helps you Good luck!!
I could not disconnect due to deep sink. the guy must of put faucet on sink before setting. impossible to take apart.I could not even get the handle off. Bout to loose my mind . I ended up replacing with a moen that is so sweet to work on. thanks gents
Thanks to your video I finally got under the sink to tackle the weak hot water flow. Turns out the shut off valve had disintegrated and stuffed all its rubber seal chunks up into the faucet filter. Replaced valve, cleaned out filter, done and done. Cheers.

@@endingworlds no, It was just like Chuck Baron said. Someone was working on the lines and broke part of where you open up the valve. It was not getting enough pressure because of that.
Hold this for me 06:38(ish), learned that lesson hard way. We had so much fun getting it back out🤣 Do like the style, functions/features, & look of the new faucets on market today; but.....when comes to repair/fix one, they don’t make it easy. With proprietary parts/fittings, electronics/batteries in them, etc....sometimes the best way to fix/repair a faucet, REPLACE it with a NEW ONE😉😂. Long time customer asked me to fix a kitchen faucet they loved & said sure. The mixer valve needed replaced, & the adjustable flow aerator needed replaced. Wasn’t easy, since aerator used a 3.5mm internal thread(why!?) & mixer valve was at base of spout/faucet that was suppose to unscrew with “special wrench” that came with faucet(& naturally customer didn’t have🤣)..... So, if parts are cheap & repair is “easy”, I say go for it; otherwise, just replace it with new one. As always Chuck, & AB/CB....watching your plumbing vids are always interesting, fun, & NEVER boring! Great job guys👍🏻 Have a good one✌🏻 TIP: most ppl may not know that you save the box to faucet. If it breaks/malfunctions/etc... call the company number on the box & talk to them, they usually will send you a brand new replacement(or similar if item was discontinued) free of charge. Might have to pay for shipping(might), but need the info from box(or sometimes manual).....& I’ve done this for customers with a faucet being 5.5 yrs old. Company helped out by sending new one even with warranty stating was for 1 year..... just a tip for ppl. Call the customer service number & talk to them.....they will try to help you & make things right as best they can.
I tie a rag around the hose so you don’t have have someone constantly holding it so it doesn’t retract down through faucet. Just a tip if it helps anyone.
The water heater is prolly old or needs a new anode rod. Its most likely gone and nothing catching all the mineral deposit build up so it passing thru and getting clogged in faucet cartrige or small internal piping within faucet. It happens to us all cb dont sweat it.
I have the same issue on our kitchen sink. Odd thing is that there are no shut-off valves under the sink. Faucet is under 1 year old. Took faucet off and looked it over, checked for dirt/debris in screens. Didn't find anything obvious. This video didn't help...but it was entertaining.
In this case he had the hot side turned off at the straight stop and disconnected. You then plug the pull-out hose with your thumb and turn the faucet on (both hot and cold) which causes the cold water to flow up into the faucet valve and back down the hot supply hose and into a container.
Dude, way to dad! "Yup, you're staying home tonight, no clubbing." 😁 I'm watching because I just put in a water softener in my home. Got the lines purged of sediment and air. All fixtures in the house run hot and cold fine now except the kitchen sink. It's having issues with the hot now. I'm going to try the back flush. I hope it isn't the supply valve, since I can handle hot on the faucet being down for a bit, but I need the hot water for the dishwasher. Here's hoping back flush solves the problem!
Hey CB , ANOTHER TECH TIP you need a small pocket dentist type mirror to see some of those handle screws, some of the manufactures went to a TORX head screw, I know moen did on some of their faucets.
John, thanks and I did manage to get my eye ball in that line to see it was an Allen and off line to boot. That’s when I threw in the towel. I threw a flag for roughing the plumber!

@@ChuckBarron On a Kohler long neck kitchen faucet, where is the blockage on the hot water line most likely to be? I"m getting very low pressure only on the hot water line. FYI, the tub has good hot water pressure, so I think it's in the faucet somewhere.
@@JayZoop I have the same problem. Bought a brand new Kohler Ealing Pro and immediately the hot water side stopped flowing, except for a little drizzle. Probably need to replace the cartridge. I have a call into Kohler (really lousy customer service, BTW) and I'll see what they say. Good luck.
We did a rebuild on some water damage. When we put the faucet back in, (which looks exactly like this one), it had the same very low pressure. The homeowner claimed it had been perfect before the demo (of course). I checked everything, and came to the same conclusion: The faucet is garbage. They were just angling for a new faucet.
Low hot pressure.. After trying everything in your video, plus replacing hot supply valve and both supply lines (flex from valves), plus taking out the cartridge and taking the aerator head apart then flushing both, I still had low pressure only on the hot side. Backflushing the supply line had no effect, but... Backflushing the short lines built into the faucet (cold valve on, hot off, handle in middle position then back and forth to hot and cold, draining into a bucket) resulted in blue flakes. Reassembled. Hot pressure now normal.
GREAT VIDEO. I thought for sure you were going to find a problem that was easy to fix but NEW FAUCET. I was like telling my dad that This guy on UA-cam is going to tell us how to fix ours. NEW NEW NEW. LOL
actually went back with new faucet. clogged big time and we flushed it. thought i had it all and still had to change faucet. The house did get new water heater from his gas company contract recently.
when you get them like that, probably a piece of junk stuck in the supply tube or at valve body inside, some of them have flow restrictors at the supply line ends to keep people from tampering with the aerator for more "flow" :) unhook supply lines and back blow with compressor through pull out hose. full hot, then full cold. **if that one has restrictors, they're probably at the "ends" they used the double male adapters to add supply line lenght
2 words: Check Valve. Shut off hot side. Detach hot side faucet line, put a bucket under it and turn water back on. You'll see a bunch of crap come out of the water and collect in the bucket. Clean out check valve. Attach faucet line back up. Problem solved. If you don't flush the line, you might have to keep cleaning out check valve until all the crud in the line gets flushed out. DO NOT remove the check valve filter. This gizmo filters out debris that would otherwise clog up the inner faucet that is alot harder to fix.
Why didn't you check the other facets in the house to see if the problem is throughout them all? If all of them have low pressure problems on the hot side it's probably a water heater issue..
Please please I need your best advice. I have the same issue just the hot water and only in kitchen sink. But I noticed the heater does not have a expansion tank, I heater that was installed about 2017.
@@theRolling2010 If it's only the one facet, unscrew the cap on the end of the spout and clean it out good.. Many times these collect dirt and minerals from the water. If this don't work maybe the facet itself maybe clogged up.; Good Luck
LMAO. I get that complaint all the time. Correct procedure: 1. Measure volume (gpm) in a 1 gallon pail. 2. Change/remove/drill - aerator filter at faucet end. 3. Re-measure. still no good? 4. Change stop valve(s). still no good? 5. Change faucet and supply line(s) All of that can be done in less than 30 minutes; IF you are prepared.

I have same issue only Now it’s hot and cold , it started as just hot side. I gotta give plumbers credit working under the sink is brutal.
ha. thanks
i have that same Kohler faucet and same issue. The hot side was very slow. I had to get a new one too.
good move..replace it.
Hold this for me 06:38(ish), learned that lesson hard way. We had so much fun getting it back out🤣
Do like the style, functions/features, & look of the new faucets on market today; but.....when comes to repair/fix one, they don’t make it easy.
Great job guys👍🏻
Have a good one✌🏻
TIP: most ppl may not know that you save the box to faucet. Call the customer service number & talk to them.....they will try to help you & make things right as best they can.
good tips and thank you..the faucet has been replaced.
This guy still has a land line. 😂😂 Love it!
It happens to us all cb dont sweat it.
a few busted knuckles and they are back in business with a new faucet.
Hi again CB1 That's a good point. When in doubt change it out. Have a great day.
I like that.
That’s 15 minutes I’ll never get back. Why do a how to video and not explain what’s going on
I have the same issue on our kitchen sink. Odd thing is that there are no shut-off valves under the sink. Faucet is under 1 year old. Took faucet off and looked it over, checked for dirt/debris in screens. Didn't find anything obvious. This video didn't help...but it was entertaining.
entertaining like home depot....lol. Replace it.
How do you flush back ward
In this case he had the hot side turned off at the straight stop and disconnected. You then plug the pull-out hose with your thumb and turn the faucet on (both hot and cold) which causes the cold water to flow up into the faucet valve and back down the hot supply hose and into a container.
Dude, way to dad! "Yup, you're staying home tonight, no clubbing."
😁
I'm watching because I just put in a water softener in my home.
Chuck.......not only are you a great plumber but you are a awesome dad also. Those 2 young men are lucky to have ya.
Tim, appreciate that.
The shut-off was the problem... looks like a gate or boiler drain style valve. They tend to clog , especially on the hot side!
Got it done for sure
Hey CB , ANOTHER TECH TIP you need a small pocket dentist type mirror to see some of those handle screws, some of the manufactures went to a TORX head screw, I know moen did on some of their faucets.
John, thanks and I did manage to get my eye ball in that line to see it was an Allen and off line to boot. That’s when I threw in the towel. I threw a flag for roughing the plumber!
i remember a time" back in the day", before all this pc crap, cell phones and so forth, when 10 cents bought a cup of coffee or a phone call...we thought they would never end, we was young and sure to have our way...have a very well earn Friday yall, no radiation on weekends so less side effects, God bless you and your dream...sUrFs Up get that prostate check, early detection is key
Thank you and I with ya on the old ways.
Loved: Your wealth of knowledge, nice sense of humor, Angelo helping you
Suggestion for Improvement:
More narration, especially what your thinking as you' re working;
"Well the most likely problem with a slow faucet is ..... so we're going to do this first."
"OK, that didn't solve the problem so let's try this...."
"Angelo, what do you think we should do?"
Thank you for taking the time to make and share this video!
Noted! appreciate your tips
I have this same problem. Maybe I’ll just replace it see if that’ works. Tried everything else.
I replaced this one. Have not looked back. all is good.
My cheap faucet like that one doing the same thing! Guess I’ll go get a new GOOD one! Thanks for the video!
You bet! supply house is best grade.
Saved me a plumber's call, thank you so much!
Ha. No problem
Using a pipe-cleaner fixed this faucet for me! Plus the hot/cold flushing in this video. Hope this helps others!
Wait I have no water pressure for hot water why is that
And what does that too
nice. this faucet was replaced. could not clear blockage.
clean aerator.
Can messing with the water heater churn up sediment, which gets caught in the screens?
Yes Sir. Always turn on valves very very slow. Walls of pipes can be disturbed by sudden pressure too.
@@FRANKI18136 Good to know for next time!
new faucet installed.
a real knuckle buster. beyond repair.
good stuff thank you.
That's the trick.......everyone.......this guy's knows what time it is. Try it before you buy a new faucet.
Thank you it fixed my problem. 🙏🏼
Am i the only one constantly staring at the non-GFCI 110v outlet in a potentialy wet location?😂
zap!
GREAT VIDEO. I thought for sure you were going to find a problem that was easy to fix but NEW FAUCET. I was like telling my dad that This guy on UA-cam is going to tell us how to fix ours. NEW NEW NEW. LOL
Ya time is just too valuable. New one solved issue. Done!
Great video chuck! and good lad get that seat belt on!
yes. safety for sure. thanks josh
Blue dirt in the aerator is caused by the "dip tube" in the hot water tank deteriorating. Maybe.
yes sir.
Thanks for your reply. Keep up the good work.
thank you.
Weird. They had good pressure at the flex line?
That's cholesterol in the faucet, cant get it out, electrolysis from the minerals
actually went back with new faucet. clogged big time and we flushed it. thought i had it all and still had to change faucet. The house did get new water heater from his gas company contract recently.
when you get them like that, probably a piece of junk stuck in the supply tube or at valve body inside, some of them have flow restrictors at the supply line ends to keep people from tampering with the aerator for more "flow" :)
unhook supply lines and back blow with compressor through pull out hose. full hot, then full cold.
**if that one has restrictors, they're probably at the "ends" they used the double male adapters to add supply line lenght
a real knuckle buster under that sink with extra deep sink.
If you have pressure with the cold , it’s not in the end piece…..
so I watched a 15 minute video of a guy finding out that he can't fix the faucet?
2 words: Check Valve.
Shut off hot side. Detach hot side faucet line, put a bucket under it and turn water back on. You'll see a bunch of crap come out of the water and collect in the bucket. Clean out check valve. Attach faucet line back up.
Problem solved.
If you don't flush the line, you might have to keep cleaning out check valve until all the crud in the line gets flushed out.
DO NOT remove the check valve filter. This gizmo filters out debris that would otherwise clog up the inner faucet that is alot harder to fix.
your skilled.
Why didn't you check the other facets in the house to see if the problem is throughout them all? If all of them have low pressure problems on the hot side it's probably a water heater issue..
negative on that...kitchen only and faucet was replaced and off to the races they went.
You Guys are funny I love it .
We enjoy our work for sure.
Lol not only do I have the same problem with the pressure but I also have the same backsplash 😂😂
new faucet. we changed it.
in the shower head there are several round screens and a plastic disk the disk has small holes in it that gets clogged
Great t ture to earth ending 👍🏻
LMAO. I get that complaint all the time.
Correct procedure:
1. Measure volume (gpm) in a 1 gallon pail.
2. Change/remove/drill - aerator filter at faucet end.
3. Re-measure.
still no good?
4. Change stop valve(s).
still no good?
5. Change faucet and supply line(s)
All of that can be done in less than 30 minutes; IF you are prepared.
By-the-way, those types of pull-down sprayer faucets are worthless.
thanks Rene
I agredd
so the cheap faucet is clogged on the hot side with mineral deposits maybe.
and she in the faucet grave yard. dam shame but moen is working great now.
So what happened
What a cool team
appreciate that. we trying
Dont need a new faucet, just gotta mess with the check valve, unfortunately...is what I found out. Not sure why you didn't but hey you're job not mine
that joker was all clogged up...replaced it. all good in the hood now.
CB-1 and AB-1 the OG I hope you all are having a great day. Sometimes you win some sometimes you lose some. It sounds like you have a lot of cholesterol in that faucet. Replace replace replace. Pease Brothers
done! running like a champ now.
how do I become a plumber? can I come train with you?
note. I worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 15 years & had my department contracted out a couple years ago (track maintenance dept.) I've recently got my state certifications in Water Treatment as well as Water Distribution. I'm willing to do anything, people keep telling me to get a trade, but I don't know how to get my foot in the door. sorry if I wasted any of your time
where you from Kylo? we good on employees.
Never a waste of time. Start knocking on doors. one will open for you.
Join a local union and start an apprenticeship
13:45 when you bring your son with you, lol.
afraid to look....lol....but i am.
Got me....lol
Blame the problem on the people who are paid per installation and do it quickly without flushing the lines before and after connecting the faucets.
amen.
Dammit man! I got the same problem and I watched this 15 minutes video and...arrrrgh!
Thanks brother!!
Thank you.
ThNk you , you saved me some cash I do not have.
sweet!
😂😂😂 that's still a win!
I've had many of those calls in my career Chuck....they can be very aggravating!
oh just closed that out today...New Moen Installed. Happy Wife and Happy Life for her hubby.
I hate dealing with repairing faucets 😄
Brian Djordjevic It’s my bread and butter. When someone pays $600+ for a faucet the don’t want to replace it. They want it to work. I’m happy to make that happen for them.
Brewmule you right about that
especially off brand or cannot even find the name on it.
I actually went back and tried again with faucets on stand by.....nope could not get it....installed new Moen. Happy Customer and I was glad get er done.
Can you give advice to someone in Scotland? I'm desperate!
This is why I tell my wife we don't need a plumber
you do but not for today.
Quick cartridge change man. Never give up. Moen Lifetime warranty quick call and they'll send it out. I call moen and delta job security brands.
I do too. They are awesome.
blue stuff in the faucet, yep, that'd be blue pipe-dope lol.. but where did it come from?
ended up being deposits of some sort..faucet was loaded and had to ruin it to get it out. Real shame.
My Moen faucet has been like that since it was put in 9 months ago.
" Hit the club " lol
For the amount of time you put into this repair , would it be more economic to just replace with a new fixture ? Could’ve been working on other jobs ?
When faucet is new and home owner breathing down your neck to save his home depot faucet we gave it 100% In the end we changed it out. All is good in faucet land now.
I have the same faucet, total garbage. Every single knob faucet I've ever used, sucks, give me a hot knob and a cold knob!
ya a cheesy one....supply house grade is on point! just an FYI. thanks for stopping in.
They must get paid by their time 😂😂😂
