MAN, ...you have no idea how much money you have saved a lot of us that are not to lazy to get our hands dirty!
thanks!
Very informative and well presented. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video and share your knowledge with everyone. God bless you.
This is tremendously helpful . When I can see what you have described and you explained. the subject matter quite well . I say yes .
You sir are a legend! Simple and direct answer is what we all need! 🙏🏻 god bless !
You explain the systems, most clearly, and show method of your problem solving brilliantly. God Bless, and well done.
sam mirison Thanks a lot I really appreciate that 👍😊
With ABS there are usually three common faults. One is the sensor, another is the wiring the last is the tone ring. Unless it has cracked its not often the tone ring. You can meter the sensor to see what it is reading, the normal reading can often be found for reference on the internet. If the sensor meters out, it is highly likely to be a wire or a junction not allowing the correct operation. By checking the voltage against the other side, as shown in this video, the wiring can soon be diagnosed. All in all a good instructional video.
ABS are so common on my volkswagens. The assumption is *always* the speed sensor. When taking to vws to dealers, like I did this morning to find out which one of the sensors was bad, the mechanic was getting varying signals... so he just said, "They all need to be replaced. $754 please." Nope.
This video is great... narrator is great... detailed and thorough (i.e. not just default to replacing everything like the dealership mechanic who assumes i have bottomless wallet).
Liked and subscribed. I will Never Fix Another ABS Light Until Watching This -- Again.
God Bless.
Island -- Island -- Island 👍😊
So it could not be the sensor even though they replaced it and it works?
This was the clearest explanation on the ABS repair that I've seen. Thank you, and God Bless. 🙏
👍😊
There is no god. Keep your beliefs to yourself.
I agree. I was here a couple years ago. Never got round 2 it
This is very informative . I have a 2005 PT and the ABS and TRAC WARNING LIGHTS came on after going through
a car wash . I am sure that this is water intrusion and that I just have to disconnect the sensor(s) and clean them
with electrical cleaning spray .
Awesome info, should have watched before I bought my ABS sensor....
Thank you for that video, I'm a step closer to solving my ABS problem. BTW, VW's frequently have a ring of magnets on the back of the bearing hub and a Hall effect sensor, rather than the toothed wheel and magnet pickup. I've already changed the bearing and sensor, but am still not getting any speed reading from the data stream, so a wiring check is next on the list.
Great technical overview thanks - It would be very useful to know which brand diagnostic scanner you used that gave the live speed data from each wheel? Thanks again.
Thank you for explaining clearly so some of us can understand! It was my magnetic ring that was the problem.
Easy and clear to understand. Wouldn't you have to run a drive cycle after clearing just to be 100%?
Found this old video. It is very concise and to the point. subscribed at once
Thank you for a DIRECT ANSWER. No stupid music and light shows ..yada yada yada.. Great video !! Thank You very much !
God bless you sir. The Best ABS explanation I've seen so far 👍🙏
Nice work, thank you. This is very helpful and thank you for not adding music in the background.
That explains a lot and is greatly appreciated. I'm taking my Jeep to the Dealer to have it checked out but that gives me ammunition to not get ripped off. Great video
rhshel 👍😊
Not every dealer is a rip off. Unfair of you to suggest that
That's how stealership make their money by ripping ppl off been there done that

Finally someone explains how to properly check for continuity within individual wires.
Nice job! Very informative! Nice detail in your diagnosis. Thank you!
Great video. You were very clear with your instructions. Thank you
Thanks for teaching me something new and down to earth.
FYI The "arrow with the plus sign" on your multimeter is the symbol for checking Diodes. (they conduct current one way but block current in reverse). The same switch position is also used for continuity.
Diagnosis is everything. You do a great job, and very informative. Thank You.
thank you ,,,,,very helpful ,,,,explained very well ,,,,,
Thanks for the clear and succinct explanation on how to troubleshoot an ABS light code.
Man I like him he showed us were to set the tester they don't on all the other sites gonna fix my abs tomorrow
William Baldwin 👍😊
I'm curious as to the exact diagnostic tester you are using here? I need that one!
Thanks I Love How Simple You Explain How to Diagnose the problem.
Dave Obrien 👍😊
Thx you always give the most informative and detailed info on repairs keep up the great work.👍
My cruise control is non operable also (same time as abs) will run your test tomorrow thanks !
Thanks so much Sir for sharing ABS trouble shooting.
👍😊
Hi good video, if i want to test the sensors what resistance ohms should i get from a good one please, thanks
Wow. I wouldnt have thought to tell my mechanic to try just a new wire first. Thanks for this.
Great video, to the point, clear and good sound. Gid bless
Good afternoon family and good health to everyone especially MENTAL. Thank you very much for sharing.
Man! You Rock. ....will be sharing with ALL OF MY FRIENDS!
This was so so helpful. Straight forward and yet covered so much. And I want to get your reader.
Hello, thank you very much for the presentation and informative video. I'm getting a mph reading on two wheels and a rpm reading on one. On the wheel that I'm getting the rpm reading is that speed sensor broken? Thank you!
Another great and Cristal clear video from you. Thank you. We'll done master.
Thanks alot your amazing finally clear instructions and i understood everthing.
Omar Nunez 👍😊
Thank you! Blessings.
Thanks for this info. video. I got a question. Abs, traction control and tyre pressure lights on my toyota proace (2019) van stay on. These lights appeared first after i had the van parked for a week. The lights went off almost the whole day today then reappeared. Toyota says rear abs sensors are broken, while they do seem intact and if they were broken, the lights wont go off randomly.
What do you think the issue might be? Cable issue?
I just disabled the ABS on our Montero Limited. Drives and brakes like a dream now. : ))
how
@@ermitanomanzano3245 We have a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Limited, and all you have to do on that car to disable the ABS system is open the front hood, stand on the driver's side of the car, and as you look down at the ABS unit, you unhook the wiring harness closest to the drivers seat. Don't unhook any of the others! There's another 3 wiring harnesses on there, let them alone. That's it!
does it have a mechanical pressure limiter to rear wheels, if not they could lock up on hard braking
@@2028end 0 pop pop pó0
the brakes will feel the same....until you need to panic stop or have bad weather conditions...its then that you realise how Much more quickly you were able to stop when it worked....its one of those things thats always helping you and stays in the background...until you need it! I was shocked how easily full brake application would lead to lockup and skidding into things ..with the abs working, the very same brakes just Haul you down hard..it can be the difference between being able to avoid an accident vs helplessly skidding into someone.. they are worth having and fixing..
thank you so much for your great video! lm having trouble with my 2013 Lexus rx450h. trouble code c1391, low pressure at actuator....is this a dealer only fix???
EXCELLENT VIDEO ! NOW I KNOW THE LOCATION OF REAR SPEED SENSOR LOCATION. FOR A MINUTE I THOUGHT IT WAS BEHIND THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AS I STOOD IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. SO IF I STAND BEHIND THE VEHICLE THE RIGHT REAR SIDE OF THE VEHICLE STAND BEHIND PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
Very nice sir.your Method of explanation is good
sajid ali Thanks! 👍😊
amazing 👏 explanation. my ABS light on and it goes off when I turn on / off the engine. no error codes registered. the message says: ABS service required. my car is 2007 volvo s40
Good job Brother.
Good video. At 2;32 you test voltage and I am wondering why there is voltage. I thought voltage is generated from the sensor when the wheel is turning which flows through the connections to the control unit. So there should be no voltage til wheel turns. What am I missing? Thanks
Testing for resistence, the speed sensors have resistance when “bench” tested so you are able to test new ones on the spot to see if it is good.
God Bless! Watching here Al Khafji Saudi Arabia from Philippines...
👍😊
I fixed my ABS light on my Jeep by unplugging the ABS Light Relay module and putting it in my glove box.
You're terrific doing this thanks a lot God bless you!
Gerard Donaire 👍😊
Thank you. That's the most common sense explanation I've yet seen. Very helpful, even for a fool ;- )
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Thank you,very helpful. God bless.
awsome, short video tons of info and examples good work
Great Simple and to the point, Thank you
Excellent analyses
Your a great man. Thank you.
I learned a lot! Thanks!
👍😊
OK, what about an "intermittent" ABS light? What is a common problem for that? Thanx , God Bless !
Thanks for the question. Exactly what I experience.
@@Ricotet4 OK Mr Eric, obviously this "prclaimliberty" is NOT going to answer. An update on this 2002 Ford F-150, is, they did a scan of the vehicle computer and came up with a code for the ABS controller. It is controlled by an electronic module, apparently it is NOT opening and closing the valves like it should. I understand you can have them "Flashed" (2-3 Hundred) or replaced for about $500. On a separate vehicle, I found one in the junk yard, and then I had it "Flashed". Or you can find one on Ebay. Check your wiring for looseness , Your sensors also could be loose or going bad, or your sending ring could be cracked. Lots to look for. God Bless !! Raul (PHX)
Omg thank so much for your video I would of been stuck all in sun with nothing to eat to drink or eat
👍😊
Nice simple and straight forward
@proclaimliberty2000 whats brand and model number of your scanner for the abs?
God bless you too brother.
did you use a regular OBD II code reader for that test that showed the rt rear sensor was at 0.00??? if not, what diagnostic equipment was that ? Thanks much for any reply. great video !
Sorry, you're not asking me, but it is an OBDII reader that states it checks ABS. I have an Ancel fx2000 that I bought on Amazon for about $140..it looks and reads like his and it shows the mph, give detailed hard fault codes and erase them after repair. There's other OBDII's to choose from in different price ranges that will bleed brakes and are much fancier. The &140 was worth it, but I have something going on in my actual ABS module or pump that require a fancier scanner to tell me which part is failing. However, my OBDII told me all 4 speed sensors where bad and it was right, after replacing them it allowed me to clear the fault code. Hope that helped.
Hello, I recommend the Phoenix Elite from Topdon to you. I am also using it, and I think it is very good. The functions and coverage of the models are very complete.
Here is a video of me using this device to replace and adapt the ABS module of the 2013 Ford Edge: ua-cam.com/video/-lVxkasK7Fc/v-deo.html , you can refer to it, it may be helpful to you!
Great video. Thank you. However my problem is that the the ABS light on my 1997 Toyota Supra MK4 does NOT come on. I've previously replaced a brake hose to a front wheel and also replaced the brake pads. Any ideas as to why the light doesn't come on? Thank you
Mechanic here. The ABS control module monitors the sensors in the abs. 1997 was the second year our current ODB 2 was out in circulation. The two issues you have described were completely mechanical in nature for that period in time hence no light. As time has gone on, computing power gone up, number of sensors and computers increased. Those and other things that weren't monitored at that time are being monitored in current day. I know brake fluid levels and pad wear can be monitored now. At the time they weren't. If a brake line blows though any computer or sensor isn't going to give you that much of a heads up if any. When one of those goes its pretty obvious.
Thank you very much.
Hi thankyou for your great tutorial on ABS light stays on.. Australia 👍
👍😊
Amazing 👏 good job sir never asking for advice again till I check with you sir... got a subscriber 😁
Plain and Simple ! Thanks .

I wonder if this will work for motorcycle abs
Well presented
nice video! Very explainatory
Well done. Excellent video and information!
👍😊
Very informative thank you. And it was clean too.
God bless you too ..in Jesus mighty name amen
Is it worth the money to bring it to the dealership and have them diagnose and fix it or leave it alone, plan on selling this 2007 vehicle in a year or two? Is it worth the$250 -$500 for complete repair?
i was told 1749.00 to fix
Best ABS video yet... Many thanks!
crystal clear woice and thank you big time
I have 2016 Ford Expedition my brakes sometimes don't work when backing down my driveway when I first start up my car. Just had the master Cylinder replaced brakes and the Calibers are good and no codes come up and no lights come up on the dash. The brakes get really hard when this happens but once I start driving they work perfect. Any input will be appreciated thank you
Any idea for model Y tesla 2022 how to check the problem why Abs is on
Very helpful, God bless you more 🙏
👍😊
Where are you guys getting leads long enough for your meter to check continuity of a wire on one side of the truck to the other?
Very informative Thanks
Great tutorial for DIY
👍😊
Hello sir ,wats the price range someone charges to fix this problem.?
I don't understand how you get voltage (2:30) but then say you have no continuity and there is an open circuit. You checked and got voltage probing both terminal ends and not by putting one probe grounded to vehicle. Wouldn't you need continuity to acheive a voltage reading when using just the two terminal ends? Apologies in advance if I've overlooked something simple.
AWESOME JOB BUD!
I need to replace mine do you have any video about replacing the ones on the rear?
Awesome video sir super helpful thank you! 👍👍
I need to try that this year.❤
I have replace abs unit for my car santa fe 2007, 2.7, 4WD, EPS, abs type s/w 60303 ver 0204. And bleed air from wheels. The problem. Is clunk sound Inside abs unit when press break at low speed. No signal abs light, the abs working good as break, the problem only the clunk sound. So please could you advice me how solve this problem.
Thank you very much for your help.
What diag platform did you use for live info?
I have “abs light on” but after checking the graph and reading everything looks correct from this point which I doubt the wheel speed sensor is even bad. I’d even tried to cleaning the wheel speed sensor still no luck. Wonder what the problem might be if you can help direct me to the next step I should look out for?
This video made me a subscriber.
What Diagnostic unit did you use for the live data?
