How much choreo goes into making a video like this? Would love to see behind the scenes creation of these kinds of videos, sick work both of you

You have to imagine it's a fair bit of choreography. It's a TAS, so most likely he advances it frame by frame changing the inputs to see what results he gets at different "points in the frame data" so to speak and then goes back to work around the limitations of what's possible.
The limitations sort of shape the "path" you can go in. I've never used TAS tools, but if you've ever speed ran a relatively simple game like SMB1 you start to learn what happens when you arrive at a certain position in the game by a specific frame in time (frame literally in the video game sense). The conditions and the "randomness" becomes set. So what happens when and how shapes your path: where you go and how and then when you're at the next position you say "okay what's possible from here in time?".

I can only speak for myself, but outside of ideas for a fun finisher I really just try to do the coolest combo extension that I can follow up on.

Yeah with these TASes, I basically only planned out the last 3-4 hits because I wanted them all to end with something special. Melee is a pretty lenient game when it comes to TASing combos, so when you have 3 combo-ing characters you can pretty much do whatever you want.

One thing that I really appreciate about your videos is the character diversity. It isn't always Fox-Falco-Falcon, there's floaties and low tiers, really makes the content more enjoyable
