Thank you for making all these videos. I used to make basic scenery with Airport and Scenery Designer for FS 2000, way back in the day. I'm slowly getting my courage up to take a stab at the SDK scenery creation. Your videos are very helpful and informative. I appreciate your efforts and willingness to share your knowledge to the rest of us.
Thank you so much Patriot Six! I really appreciate You taking the time to make these videos, I have learned so much. Just three weeks ago, after watching various videos on UA-cam I thought making my own scenery would be too difficult and After finding your videos it made me realize that anyone can do it! Your well spoken step by step method of teaching has me blazing a trail of making my own projects! I love to be creative and being able to bring more detail and emersion into the sim has been greatly appreciated!
Thank you. A man after my heart. I have to be creative. It is who I am. I once ran a recording studio for about 15 years where I would help artist turn their idea into music. I used to write my own songs too. In my real job, I had to always be making something work better. So being creative is a thirst I have to quench. Now that I am retired I have found my creative outlet. first making my own scenery and now sharing things I learn with others. Keep it up. It can be very rewarding for the creative types out there.
Thanks for watching; I am happy it worked. This is an older video. I actually made a newer version, but the algorithm tends to send folks to the older, more viewed videos.
You are welcome. Some of those videos are old but as long as it works, I let it ride. Recently I had to upload new videos when the SDK changed. When that happens, I will always change the title of the outdated video to let viewers know there is an updated version. Thanks for watching and good luck building scenery.
Thanks for watching, Pablo. Unfortunately, the grass height is coded into the textures and cannot be edited with SDK. We will see what changes come with the 2024 SDK. There are 3D models of grass that can be purchased but they cost about $100. That is more than I wat to pay for a trial run. Happy building.
Great tutorial. You explain it very clearly and slowly. However, when I make the grass airfield trees appear which were not there. I tried to remove them again using the method in one of your other videos but I can't get them off. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Let me see if I have the story correct. You built a grass runway and then added trees and now you want to remove the trees you added? Here is an idea. I have a Facebook page that will allow you to add pictures to your questions so I can better access the issue. Comments are good on UA-cam but comments alone are not always enough. I will approve you on the Facebook page as soon as I see a request. facebook.com/groups/788136852324508
i have a problem. i tried everything you said in order and missed nothing. now theres a hole in the ground i cant reset. how do i make it back to normal? i need it back please tell me, thanks.
@@ryanwilson299 Glad you fixed it. Typically terraforming creates holes. I do not recall if I used terraforming in the video or not. This video is dated. I have a newer version if you need it. ua-cam.com/video/R-wbF-l7K1E/v-deo.html
Hello ETS. Thanks for watching. When you think you have heard everything, somebody presents a new issue. I'm curious, can you create a regular scenery folder without crashes? I don't have the answer, but sometimes we can assess the case based on what does or does not cause a problem.
Here is a video on building inclusion and exclusion polygons.

Jump in. You can't mess anything up. You will get there.

Amazing!! This is exactly what I want to do in an area that I like to fly (bush flying) in British Columbia Canada (where I live) - thanks again.
You are welcome, my friend.
Fantastic video, thank you. I have an existing airfield I just need to exclude some trees. Time to watch another video.
Excellent and simple way to show us how to do airports. Will look at all your tutorials! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Thank you.
Patriot six rocks again! Thanks mate!
Happy flights on 2024!

A Quad City Ultralight’s Challenger. Great fun to fly.
Oh yeah!
Very interesting video, you have inspired me to try this next weekend. Thank you! :)
If you do this, here is a more up-to-date video of a fictional grass airfield creation. ua-cam.com/video/R-wbF-l7K1E/v-deo.html
Another great tutorial. Thanks. Will give it a try and show you the result.
Awesome. I would love to see how it turns out for you.

hello! Did you find a way to make the grass length shorter when you create the track? because practically the wheels of the plane are covered by it.

Great job. Enjoyed your video very much.
I just wanted to let you know that you are welcome. This one is dated but still works. I have since made a new series covering grass runways.
