Caps make sense, actually. Money did not start as “backed” by anyone; it merely had qualities that facilities trade. Some people started using gold in a coin form, and eventually the idea spread. There was no sole king who minted coins, they just evolved over time. Most important of all was intrinsic value; it had value outside of its worth as money. Think of gold or silver. But money has other qualities. Lightweight is preferable (that’s why gold coins fell out of favor), difficult or impossible to reproduce as counterfeit, easily divisible, doesn’t degrade over time, uniform in physical characteristics. Caps have all these qualities except easily divisible. Money “backed” by some group or individual wouldn’t be preferable. For one, many other groups wouldn’t accept it. The NCR would not accept Legion money, etc. Further, as in the real world, the money issuer would have the ability to simply make more money. This is what would happen instantly, without a doubt. The issuer would inflate the currency until it was worthless, because when they print and spent the money, it still had value. Whoever accepted that money would be the one that gets screwed.

Fallout is such an incredible franchise. I love the 1950s nostalgia even though im 28, something about it all just feels right. The exploratory nature of the games and attention to detail really gets my curiosity going. Thanks man for the fun facts!
The use of caps as currency across the wasteland because they’re hard to counterfeit makes the most sense. Naturally in places under the NCR banner and other factions like it that have their own, recognizable and hard to reproduce currency, it makes sense that those within their territories would use said currency. But for everywhere else in the wastes, something hard to fake en masse like bottle caps makes sense.
Whenever I play new Vegas I love to see the mapping error or clap counter fitting location when you walk inside the door to the basement is on the left when it makes more sense to be on the right where the mountain is
I just realised, there's two things that aren't included in these videos. 1) In the Hidden Valley Bunker, you can see random scribes giving lessons on BoS tactics on the blackboard, etc. scribe needs to be in the class room to do it. 2) In select interiors, a little "tune" plays. A special one, that's an electric guitar (southern rock style), it's very subtle, and easy to miss. One location that has this is in is Captain Dean's Boat Rentals. Check it out!
When the Pitt dropped on the 360, I downloaded it immediately when it came out. Bethesda apparently patched it 5 minutes later when I called customer service the next day complaining that the Pitt dlc would crash my game. The Followers Outpost has a building just like it outside the Yangtze Prisoner Camp in Big MT. The room isn't quite as big, but still much bigger than the outside.
I also have some fun facts Fun fact 1: in all 5 (main) fallout games you can find aliens! Fun fact 2: in all 3 Bethesda made fallout games have lovecraftian horrors! (Dunwich Building in 3, Dunwich Borers in 4, and the interloper and baby interloper thing in 76)
The 13 year old voice actor thing used to bother me when I first found out, but thinking about logistically, in the world of fallout especially 200+ years of wasteland. There is no laws, no morals or ethics. The fallout franchise is actually pretty tame considering its the end of the world. Well besides the first 2 games
Just found out there is a unique death animation in Mother Ship Zeta where if you walk to far off the space walk area, the Lone Wanderer drifts off into the stars. It's pretty funny too
The Vicky and Vance Casino was funny in vanilla New Vegas was funny, since the chips stayed in your inventory after cashing them in, meaning infinite bottle caps.
The cool thing about Come Fly With Me quest, is that if you manage to spare the feral ghouls inside the building, they will appear alongside the non-feral ghouls on the rocket site
Your father in fallout 3 quotes Bill Cosby if you attack him. He says something along the lines of “I brought you into this world, I’m not afraid to take you out of it”, which a line lifted from The Cosby Show.
16:15, there are a lot of those places, the giant dinosaur in novac is one of them and the first one I notice almost instantly. and the Sink in the Big MT, maybe the door goes to an elevator up, don't know but if is the same door then it counts.

A bug that's super rare that I've kinda seen happen? TL;DR a deathclaw spawned and killed my buddy's little brother on his first time in Goodsprings. Appparently, there's an insanely rare bug that, when in Goodsprings and leaving a building, can spawn a deathclaw that will instantly be hostile. Well, my buddy just let his little brother start playing FO:NV for the first time, and he starts screaming, "What is that?" We didn't get to see it, but he says a deathclaw jumped him. We call BS on it, but their father confirmed it, and since he never played Fallout, it's believable. To quote his father, "It was like a bipedal tiger, pounced on him like one, too." Wiki confirms it, too.

Naturally in places under the NCR banner and other factions like it that have their own, recognizable and hard to reproduce currency, it makes sense that those within their territories would use said currency. But for everywhere else in the wastes, something hard to fake en masse like bottle caps makes sense.
Whenever I play new Vegas I love to see the mapping error or clap counter fitting location when you walk inside the door to the basement is on the left when it makes more sense to be on the right where the mountain is
i once had a glitch at the end of new vegas where instead of showing me the slides and stuff, it was just ron the narrator standing in a room
Check it out!

ave, true to caesar (even if a mole rate is smarter)
Ceasar has marked you for death the legion obeys Ready yourself for battle
@@hazmatv7157Caesar will never do that to vulpes inculta (would he, he did to it to joshua grham)
Senpai Caesar, the sexiest man in the wasteland.

Damn, I thought my luck had finally turned around at the Junkyard, I didn't know it was a 100% chance lmao
14:06 Never seen this. I can't believe I'm still learning about new stuff in this game after all this time.
I had a shit day at work and really needed this. Thank you
12:34 I once saw a mr.house computer “running” in the direction of the strip over by the 188 trading post in the Desert
When the Pitt dropped on the 360, I downloaded it immediately when it came out. Bethesda apparently patched it 5 minutes later when I called customer service the next day complaining that the Pitt dlc would crash my game. The rep on the phone was teasing me that my nerd ass stayed up late to download the dlc so fast that I got the pre patched bug. Doesn’t pay to be the early worm all the time lol
" I think Sniffles is just a genius"
Wow A Mole Rat Is Freaking Smarter than A Leader of a Faction, Now I Feel Bad For Elder Maxson In The Future, Watch Out Elder Maxson! He's Coming for YOU.
I hope the next fallout takes place in new Orleans or the great plains, imagine a radioactive tornado or a radioactive hurricane lol and then have Canada be part of a dlc, plus add darker elements like the first fallout game anyone else agree :)
The tin man no joke is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever heard of.
"If you've had any bugs in your fallout playthroughs let me know" Any? More like, how many?
The Followers Outpost has a building just like it outside the Yangtze Prisoner Camp in Big MT. The room isn't quite as big, but still much bigger than the outside.
I also have some fun facts
Fun fact 1: in all 5 (main) fallout games you can find aliens!
Fun fact 2: in all 3 Bethesda made fallout games have lovecraftian horrors! (Dunwich Building in 3, Dunwich Borers in 4, and the interloper and baby interloper thing in 76)

"Because he probably fucking killed himself"
I snorted and chuckled so loudly
When I heard about ferals being shot on sight, I thought "well, yeah, I'd rather not be killed by a ghoul"
Glad to see that the atomic wrangler crier has her weapon sticking out of her hip in all versions
_"Though I couldn't talk to him, it was nice to see him again."_
Indeed, he is the President of our Hearts as well.
Monthy phinton (idk how to write that)
The old man:how many swallows does it take to lift a rock?
Knight:what kind of swallows?
The old man:i-i i don't know... WAIT
**explodes**
hell yeah dude
Hey guys, did you know Fallout's name is inspired by the idea of Nuclear fallout? Where radioactive particles fall back to the earth as dust or rain.
No shit sherlock
@@prequall he's joking
Perfect, I was hoping youd do this as it's better for me listening at work. Thanks man!
omg.. the ending slides are actually a projector on a background, not an actual slide. That's such an ingenious way of them getting around the game engines limitations.
It becomes really obvious when your mod companions show up in front of your view to block the slides lol
@@markdavis180 For some reason mod companions are the only type of mod I've yet to try for fallout games.
@@Snoogen11 a lot of em are just straight up coomerbait but there's some good ones
That joe cobb guy looks familiar
Oh boy! I can't wait to watch a 40 minute video about facts I already know.
You recieved the appropriate amount of sass over worrying about that one line lol
The live note from Benny doesn't imply that he has a foot fetish.
It implies that the both of you do.
To quote his father, "It was like a bipedal tiger, pounced on him like one, too."
Wiki confirms it, too.
Love how the second fun fact still uses the noncanon last name of Benny
Benny's last name is not Gecko.
In very early drafts of the New Vegas script, Benny's original tribe was called the Gecko Family, and someone found out about this and made fanfiction of Benny having the last name Gecko
Benny Gecko is not canon, it's fanon based on noncanon drafts of the New Vegas script
