5:50 the reason that I dont think that the Nuka-Cola cans have been intractable so far is becuz they would probably be made of aluminum and that means that they would be very easily malleable and therefore break very easily. In contrast glass bottles are fragile, but can definitely last longer than an aluminum can. But hey, thats just my theory on it
The glass on the nuka cola bottles are pretty thick. They look about half an inch thick based on the rim of the bottle's opening. Based on a google search, a normal bottle is barely 5 millimeters thick with the most being 25 millimeters. Which means Nuka Cola bottles might be really hardy.
@@prophetofpuppets Nuka Cola bottles are most likely designed off of old style Coke bottle, which is thick as hell and can cause significant damage if you hit someone over the head with it
I also don't think they're aluminum. Aluminum is light-weight and better for recycling, which is why we use it today. But, aluminum cans weren't used until the mid-1960's, and given the time period vibe of the Falloutverse, I doubt they ever made the switch. They didn't seem like a civilization that really cared about recycling or the environment, so they were probably still using some form of tin-iron or tin-plated-steel cans, which means they would've been much harder. Something I found out about Fallout NV is that with some percise timing, after getting into your first fight after leaving goodsprings, you can talk to victor, showing that the way he finds you is because he is temporarily made into a companion. I did this on accident in my first playthrough by talking to victor just before he forces you into a conversation, momentarily pulling up the companion wheel. Just to clarify I did this on console.
Violet's cut dialogue is kind of adorable - in a psychotic lunatic kind of way; but it think it was a good choice to cut the Fiend's dialogue overall, just because they're more intimidating if you only know what other people tell you about them (and they attack you on sight).

I think i remember in the operation anchorage DLC there is a locked room with a Gary in there without an arm, it shows that the outcasts didnt kill you from the start and took your pipboy, because they already tried.
I was fairly certain you can find the vault 101 jumpsuit in the old minuteman town on a roof. I remember this because it sparked a ton of theories about the lone wanderer. It's odd because I feel like there are a lot of minor incorrect claims that could easily be googled. I also found the brain consumable in the rust devil compund. Couldn't do anything with it so I was pretty confused.
There is an old glitch I remember getting just once in the older version of new vegas. After ghost town gunfight, I went up to victor and got the companion wheel and it was wack as shit. There are several baseball raiders in Fallout 3. There's one baseball field near the Bethesda Ruins and Chryslus Building where there's a bat raider and a ball raider (who lobs grenades at you).
My theory for the brain is maybe a cut option for jezebel where you could pull her brain out of the tank, or maybe the robobrain facility you work your way through
I wish Bethesda would have made raiders and other enemies flee or avoid confrontation if they saw you in power armor, saw the size of your gun or based on your reputation. They comment on power armor in Fallout 4 but it would still make a lot more sense than someone in a huge mechanized suit of armor getting mugged by a guy dressed like one of The Village People.
Those conversations with Cook Cook, Nephi and Violet are not cut content. You can talk to them by doing a Khans quest where you sell drugs to the fiends. You have to be wearing a Khans outfit. Sometimes it glitches where they aren't hostile if you sneak in too.

Codsworth has soooo many pop culture names. Corvo (Dishonored) Deckard (Blade Runner) Denton (Deus Ex) Mulder and Scully (X Factor) Tetsuo (Akira) Heisenberg (Breaking Bad)...there's heaps. In particular almost every character in Mad Max Fury Road has their names put in. Plus he also includes a lot of the developers' full names.
My favourite thing about Cow Tipping the Brahmin in New Vegas is that it counts as knocking over an opponent. Whenever I get to Mojave Outpost on a new save I go into the cage with the 2 Brahmin in, shut myself in and go back and forth between them, pushing each one over as it gets back up. Push them over 100 times and it completes the Knocked Up challenge, giving you some XP. This challenge can be done repeatedly, and is a fairly easy way to level up, though you might have some trouble with higher level enemies being stronger than your early game gear if you're taking the long way round to New Vegas itself.
my third playthrough of Fallout 2, I went with an INT 1 character, so I could max my AP and HP. I found that you don't use words. you make sounds like "krhung. Glarr. glorb. hrrrhrrrrrgg." makes it fun interacting with the Brotherhood.
Low int is a pain in the ass gameplay wise, you get less quests cuz of less dialogue, so less xp, so less lvls, and once u get lvls with low int u get less skippoints to use

@@Don11037 yeah i still have it i think but my friend now owns the Xbox
Ive only ever played NV on ps3 and i know for a fact i had his dialogue, not sure how or why but for sure it happened.
It's definitely cut content.
Ah sorry yes quiet possible that it was in game upon release but cut soon after.
I think i remember in the operation anchorage DLC there is a locked room with a Gary in there without an arm, it shows that the outcasts didnt kill you from the start and took your pipboy, because they already tried.
I love how victor sounds genuinely sorry about not showing up to fight.
What town?
There is an old glitch I remember getting just once in the older version of new vegas. After ghost town gunfight, I went up to victor and got the companion wheel and it was wack as shit. He made it with me all the way to Boulder City before dissapearing. Ive only ever read and seen like two accounts of this bug.
I remember doing the cap glitch and being rich asf for the entire game. Nv is my 3rd fav so that made it more bearable
Wow that Diablo 1 music really brings me to tears. Good ol Tristram
A lot of the days I feel like ending my life but watching these videos bring me back to my days as a kid playing fallout for hours without a care in this world, thanks for helping me live another day
Stay strong brother , life…… life never changes.
@@CoverGrunt20 yeah you’re right, only been on this earth 22 years and experienced so much awful shit. But you’re right, it won’t change so I need to just adapt and get stronger
It will get better brother, you gotta stay strong and do the things that you love and realize how special it is to be on this earth, no matter how bad it may be sometimes… i wish you the best of luck my man keep your head up🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@UncannyLiving You probably don't need to get stronger, since surviving so much pain that you want to die, but still not giving in usually means that you have inner strength, but no purpose. At least that was my experience. You have already proven that you can survive emotional hell, so that's not the issue. You need to find joy to balance the pain. Perhaps you still haven't found that or perhaps you need to allow yourself to enjoy things.
@@UncannyLiving cringe, he was making sure you were alright dude and you should still consider getting help though, suicide is serious
Absolutely amazing to see Tk upload a 1 hour long video on Fallout!
Made my monday a hell of a lot better
i think the vault 101 jump suit might have been a alternate version for the mysterious stranger but was never completed in favor for the more well known version, my reasoning being nick valentine was keeping records and was noting what the mysterious stranger appeared as.
I always liked that in fallout 3 you could get around the wasteland using the underground metro it was awesome to use them as shortcuts.
i don't think there's a single place in that game where using the metro is the faster of two options
This comes from not knowing FO76 very well but that Old Ring seems plausible since that game has a Legendary Crafting system
You can find an "Old Ring" on a bench south of Summersville under a hat with a holotape.
It uses the same asset as the Wedding Rings found across the map.
They are NOT legendary and can not be made so.
The holotape has a conversation between Jeff Nakamura and the woman he asked to marry, Amy Kerry.
She turns him down so they both can focus on rebuilding Appalachia.
willing to bet the 101 jumpsuit would've been Creation Club content
boone kills everything in like a 100m radius, when i had no idea what i was doing he made it bearable, why?!?!?
What?
@@TheJayson8899 I think they’re reacting to him using Boone for the white glove society dinner quest. They’re saying why the hell would you kill Boone when he kills everything easily
@@hopdon9115 Boone constantly starting unnecessary fights is precisely why I don’t use him lol. Or any companion to be honest. I’m just overall not a huge fan of the AI.
@@HomeCookinMTG I like Boone for early game leveling up, since the first stats I usually try to get high at the start are speech and other non combat stats
@@hopdon9115 That makes sense I have a personal rule against using speech in new Vegas. Makes the game really boring an anti-climactic IMO lol
Your local library had game guides?? That’s so cool, I remember vaguely when I was a little kid in the late 90s you could “rent” movies from there with your library card
There are several baseball raiders in Fallout 3. There's one baseball field near the Bethesda Ruins and Chryslus Building where there's a bat raider and a ball raider (who lobs grenades at you).
I didn't even know that the convos with Nephi, Cook-Cook and Violet were cut content.
I'm guessing Unofficial NW patch puts that in.
My theory for the brain is maybe a cut option for jezebel where you could pull her brain out of the tank, or maybe the robobrain facility you work your way through
The cans were likely no longer made as the metal was now diverted for war production.
I'm pretty sure if you're wearing fiend armor, you can talk to Driver Nephi and the other two fiends without mods.
There are no speech options. Ive tried this.
@@Rubix003 you can definetly talk to Cook Cook as you can sell him drugs the others ive never tried
@@jeambeam3173 play unmodded?
@@TheJayson8899 yes I only played on console and I remember talking to cook cook and Nephi
@@jeambeam3173 you're thinking of Driver Nephi.
Wasteland Survival Guide is my favorite quest in Fallout 3. It's amazing to see something from that quest I haven't before
Awesome way to start off a Monday. More fun facts from the Nuclear Wasteland ❤. Keep up the great work Mantis 👍🏻
So cool that Fallout is still being played and talked about
I've fallen in love with violets voice actress
The way Violet stutters when she says Cook Cook's name... It disturbs me what that implies.
Time to watch all these facts again BUT IN LONG FORM
I wish Bethesda would have made raiders and other enemies flee or avoid confrontation if they saw you in power armor, saw the size of your gun or based on your reputation. They comment on power armor in Fallout 4 but it would still make a lot more sense than someone in a huge mechanized suit of armor getting mugged by a guy dressed like one of The Village People.
Thousands of hours in fallout nv alone, yet I still don't know of everything
Those conversations with Cook Cook, Nephi and Violet are not cut content. You can talk to them by doing a Khans quest where you sell drugs to the fiends. You have to be wearing a Khans outfit. Sometimes it glitches where they aren't hostile if you sneak in too.
i love how cook cook speaks
Ima good cook maybe I’ll make you dinner sometime
I was externally surprised when I learned of the father Elijah ending. I'm just sad I will never see it for my self. Loved the dead money dlc.
This is basically gaming facts videos but good
Mad props for covering Fallout 1,2 and Tactics so often. I've played them hundreds of times and you've come up with a few details I didn't know.
What happens if you were to open the door with a suit of power armor and a jet pack the first time going to diamond city while Piper is still talking to the intercom?
52:26 Like a true Fallout New Vegas player, you didn't even blink at the ridiculous teleporting disintegrating robot
Mantis, I hope you see this.
In regards to Fallout: New Vegas’ “Beyond the Beef” quest, I am wondering if allowing Boone to be eaten by the Ultra-Luxe effects his ending slide at all when the game is over?
It just plays his normal death slide.
Why did you need mantis to answer that, you could've just looked it up or done it yourself, furthermore why did you expect him to even answer?
I like watching all of the short rapid fire videos, but by the time the huge volume comes out, I forget about the videos mostly, so I get to watch and enjoy them all again, thanks Mantis, very cool
Pretty sure the cookies are fine because of a pun. Of course the cookies would survive nuclear annihilation, they're some tough cookies.
For the first time in a decade, I learned something new about New Vegas. Fantastic video!
A Lovely Collection Of Shorts, Well Done!
I love your Fallout series videos. It makes me want to play all of them again despite having already played through quite a few times.
Named myself Deacon in my new Fallout 4 playthrough. Completely slipped my mind that Codsworth wouldn't say that name for obvious reasons.
Larping as a Bladerunner, I was pleasantly suprised to be called Mr Decker
I think the cut dialogue from Cook Cook and Nephi and violet is funny as fuck, why didn’t they keep that in 😭
I was doing stuff while listening to this in the background and i nearly shat my self after earing Codsworth say what i could only interprete as "mr. Among us!"
Isn’t the dogs playing poker painting also referenced in Old World Blues if you have the Wild Wasteland perk? I swear I’ve seen the cyber dogs in one of the facilities gathered around a table with cards
yup
I love these long ass videos. Great to listen to while I work. Thanks, Mantis!
FO4 not carrying on the tradition of Brahmin tipping is like a symbol of the direction shift 4 lead the series in ...
I literally just found out about it and I been playing fallout games since 09
Codsworth has soooo many pop culture names.
The cans would've been steel and rusted away. That's why. Even a few pinholes and the cola drips out. They used to make steel/tin cans
13:30 it's a shame the fiend voice lines were cut, they were really good lines and it's a shame the voice actors never got those characters out there
I really like Cook-Cook and Nephi’s lines a lot. Nephi is such a dick lol
That phonetics pun was really clever, made me juggle a bit.
my third playthrough of Fallout 2, I went with an INT 1 character, so I could max my AP and HP. I found that you don't use words. you make sounds like "krhung. Glarr. glorb. hrrrhrrrrrgg." makes it fun interacting with the Brotherhood.
Did you talk to Torr in Klamath? That's a highlight of a low INT playthrough.
Talk to the idiot in the second town. (The guy who guards the bramin)
@@Jisawbam fairly certain I was even too dumb for him. it's been years, mate. do it yourself.
Low int is a pain in the ass gameplay wise, you get less quests cuz of less dialogue, so less xp, so less lvls, and once u get lvls with low int u get less skippoints to use
@@tankacebo9128 kinda rude
I dont know if you covered this, but you should talk about the "Evil Gnome" in fallout new vegas, in fire gecko caverns.
Some of the Tenpenny True-isms would be recycled into Ashur's Speech in The Pitt

oh my god this is the best series i’ve seen in a while, amazing video, would love to see more fun facts!!

The ring he got is absolutely a hacked item yeah XD
I got a feeling Queenie was Cook's pet as he was growing up, somehow, or he has relations with her.
Violet is schizo AF.
Driver's nonchalant, loner vibe and dialogue is awesome.
hes not a loner more like Alpha wolf who isnt understood by anyone/ is edgy and hates the world while having a crippling drug habbit, Violet is not schizo shes just very VERY excentric and loves dogs... maybe a little too much and "Cook-Cooke" is a pure phsycopath with a passion for cooking and a fondnest for his pet and only his pet.
Cut content. Driver Nephi is a mormon name after a Mormon missionary. There used to be an interaction with one of the ghoul at areotech park after you killed Nephi . About how Nephi used to be a Mormon and all that.
Lol awesome part about the ducks. Despite playing Fallout a gazillion times i never saw the bottles as a duck nor truly got the duck rhyme.
If you beat fallout 4 & side with the institute without ever going to sanctuary then return back to sanctuary then talk to your mister handy you'll get new dialog options
Edit: gunny voices Victor in New Vegas
When was William Sadler gunny?
Cook Cook's "Something on your mind?" line is one-for-one reference to Starcraft 1's Vulture's voiceline, I feel.
Someone should make a mod where you can feed Rex the doggie treats for a small but permanent buff to him. Like 10% dmg.
There needs to be a max limit you can give him tho so it's not overpowered
@@Truemarksman97 there's two in the game.

If you kill mr house in NV is there a way to add the other globes to your lucky 38 shelf
No, because the only character that does that for you, Jane, will attack you if you kill Mr House.
