"This crisis will occur in about 2025"
2020: speedrun
Pretty it predicted that the climax of the crisis would be in 2025, the virus came 2019 and hit the world hard in 2020, if the prediction is correct we have a few years left before something big happens i guess. But its just a prediction so who knows.
@Matthew Reustle bddd
its a set of 20 years, so we have been on this path for sometime. I am sure the next few years will also be very deciding of where we go in this decade.

@@Bergja the culmination of right wing populism? Better yet (or worse in this case) an all-out war of left and right. The tensions have been growing ever since America and Brazil voted on right populists. Maybe the climax of all of this will be in 2025.

I'm in my 30s and I've never understood the whole "We were well-behaved and respectful back when we were kids" mentality. No. No we were not. I remember the kids in my high school being absolute sh*ts and looking for any opportunity to indulge in substances, hurl abuse and watch/act out violence. I'm not sure if teenagers today are that much better, but they're certainly no worse.
Just remember, people in ancient Rome watched gladiators fight to the death and slaves get eaten by lions for entertainment. I think people today will be just fine if they watch the latest Saw or play the latest Mortal Kombat.
Nice observation
irony is, people focus too much on the young, while excusing the elders.
Adults have more moral allowance than kids.
thanks unc
I understand your point, but just a little correction, gladiators were more like modern mma and ufc fighters, it was quite rare that they died while performing battles. They fought with swords that were in poor condition to not harm each other seriously, so basically it is a myth that they fought to death
@@Ersultan234 True, actual gladiatiors very rarely fought to the death, but it was common for convicted criminals dressed as gladiatiors to fight to the death.

Most adults are pathologically incapable of seeing kids as people.
No joke. Kids are not allowed to have their own slang or toys or anything without adults getting upset.
Kids choosing to hang out more with friends or differimg opinions than their elders are see as delinquent.
Childhood is seen as a UNIVERSAL experiemce, while adulthood is an INDIVIDUAL experience.
Kids arent allowed to be different, worldly/nuanced.
Personally, I think the core of juvenoia is *envy.* We tend to hate young people because we want what they have: the mere fact that they aren't as close to the end of their lives as we are.
We've lived long enough to know that a person's youth is a special, irreplaceable thing. And we tend to feel like such a precious thing is being wasted on those who gain it at the same time that we lose it.
I think society is too morally obsessed with youth.
Society is more patronizng to young people for flaws and nuances than the elders.
In fact, older people are praised for having flaws and vices
anyone who agrees with this is miserable as fuck lmfao jesus christ
A very acute observation
Or the fact that their lives may have been easier then people back then of their age
What? 💀 Juvenoia is caused by a lot of things, envy is not a major contributing factor. I've had some juvenoia myself with Gen Alpha and I do _not_ envy being them. 😭

“The climax of that crisis will occur in 2025”
Either they were 5 years off, or 2020 is only the beginning...
2020 is only the beginning. In the US alone, 45% of renters face eviction, 49% in my home state and 59% in West Virginia. The unemployment and homelessness crisis caused by Corona will not unify a nation aware of the oligarchs influencing our plutocratic state, the lobbyists selling lies to kill us for profit. We know that even without Corona we have already doomed our earth and ourself. We know that bigotry and oppression have never left us. Knowing this, we will not return to what once was when a vaccine allows us to return to the streets. As we vote in an election decided before the world turned upside down, the homeless masses will speak to each other in hushed tones, and those once brainwashed by the false glory of conservatism will feel their belly ache from lack of food, realizing that platitudes cannot be consumed. America will shake and burn, riots will fill the streets as China grows in power. For if we do not escape our broken politics, the planet dies and so do we. And time and time again, it has been proven that we cannot escape our broken politics with peace.

This can be applied especially to the “gen alpha” trend going around, we’re acting as though a bunch of 3 - 6 year olds have made up this weird meme language, when in reality it doesn’t even exist. It’s like we fear the new generation so much that we’re actually making up excuses to be pessimistic about them. like bruh most of them aren’t even old enough to read or write and we’re already deciding that they’re “doomed”.
It's an eternal cycle of hatred, this has been going on for as long as time can tell, literally. Most people just don't see it
gen alpha being generally regarded as after 2010 the oldest are 13-14. with how at least here in norway it's not uncommon for you to get your own smartphone as young as 8 or 9 years old. this would mean gen alpha at least here has had access to the internet for up to 6 years. and with how quickly language develops on the internet within any community of people, it is not at all unthinkable that gen alpha would have began developing their own slang

While all of your crazy physics and astronomy videos are incredibly entertaining and interesting I think your videos in regards to social phenomena have to be the most fascinating ones, Michael.
yea, people tend to be negative about those younger than them. People are too self insulated about their childhood memories.
So all generations grow up acting stupid and reckless, but by the time they grow up becoming more mature and experienced in life they criticize younger generations because their memories of there younger days have become too abstract to relate to how teenagers behave.
Well...while I agree, I see a lot of kids doing drugs now but I can't relate to that, I don't do the same. So there is nothing to remember or forget. Guess it depends on an individual person
+X Maneuver Basically.

Not only a meme, but it's basically an equivalent to "phone bad, book good"
And he was not wrong, either.
0 MANERS.
0 TYMES.
There's a running joke or "meme" around the 1400s in a fighting manual. Its by unscrewing a pommel of a sword and throwing it at your opponent. Ending him rightly. Check out skallagrims channel about pommels ending people rightly.
If you live til 113 years old... are you a teenager again?
maybe a centeenager
No
Are you fucking serious
if this happened consistently this generation, we are the first immortal generation
+Mike Seo a centennial :D
That 2025 climax is definitely on track
my god he predicted it
"The plural of anecdote isn't data." That's actually really profound.
I loved that quote but I also disagreed with it in on some level. The plural of anecdote can serve as data, and generate a trend.
@@rebeccalaguerre9300 anecdotal evidence is very rarely used as data
Rebecca Laguerre : I think i know what you're trying to say, and maybe this example can describe it.
If the census was informal, and required each person to write short paragraphs that described their lives, then wouldn't every single collected anecdote, all 300,000,000 of them, when ordered and systematized, reveal the average age, household number, etc. of a country. Those anecdotes, when collected on a massive scale and when formalized, would yield data. I think this is what you mean, but, of course, put in my words.
A lot of data is just many many many anecdotes. The difference between anecdote and actual data is quantity & specificity, no? At least for the polled data used in statistical analysis. You have to be sure to analyze as few aspects & as many instances as possible, but if we're using "anecdote" in the sense of "one person's experience or story", then ye, I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
-Rainbow Bubbles- you’re trying to collect data at that point, not anecdote, you’re collecting data from anecdote, of course it still isnt the plural of anecdote, it’s something else
I’m genuinely scared that I will act like boomers to the next generation.
I hope I won't
@@hipposyrup5500 just remember that a generation enjoys the technologies and innovations of the time and even if it's alien to you, it's familiar to them, let them take advantage of their newfound technology that wasn't around in your time

You likely already do. A lot of us make fun of kids for playing fortnite and liking gacha stuff. I really have to try and remember my generation was no less cringy with our likes and whatnot.

2015: I wonder what that crisis will be?
2020: Coronavirus
Maybe...
We have only 5 years before the result of that theory if it is true or not...
climate perhaps
Ryan Salle that's less likely now as quarantine has led to less carbon excretion and pollution particularly from aeroplanes so the climate is actually improving
Coronavirus is pointing out the problems in society(role and priorities of government, outdated and antiquated systems, fucking TSA, ...) but I don't know if it's the crisis that will finally bring about a change.
Hey Michael
Michael: teenagers
* GASPS*
12:36 yeeaah this changed with tiktok ,popular entertainment requires less thinking with that form of entertainment lol
"The plural of anecdote isn't data"
Damn. that's a great line
Except that it literally is
Had to rewind the video when I heard that
@@fulldeepshadowmmon No, anecdotes are hand-picked personally experienced piece of stories filled with a lot of bias from the person telling it, their location, the time period, etc. A lot of anecdotes still have the same problem but compounded.
That's not data.
@@VivekYadav-ds8oz anecdote is a single point of data. A bunch of stubble points would be data
@@fulldeepshadowmmon Technically data is just the aggregate of any type of information. So not only anecdotes but anything could be data. However here it's not meant this way

Or perhaps the cloud?

Maybe we exist in a cloud, stored as executables?

How amazing you are Michael, so far, I think you are the best out there ... years past and this stuff still super deep and well done ...

2:10 My god, it's a 300 year old meme! People really don't change.

Thousands of years lol
Closer to 400
Irony: people change and don't change simultaneously. They change according to their stage of life but don't change in the "form of change"
