I love the endings to these videos. I find them inspirational to change wrong things to make them better. The most taxing question on the mind is if what we do now will benefit or hurt the future. What would historians find? What would future generations learn about us and what we right now did? Every action will be watched by our children 100 years later. That’s hard to think about, it inspires me as a person to improve people’s life’s and to show our children that we were good people. We can’t be self centered all of the time. As a collective society we need to help and take care of people around us and ourselves, but that’s hard, but it can be done. For us, for the future, for the world.

Vsauce episodes are so beautifully written, everything just flows and even the most complex ideas are made to sound simple. Magisterial
Ah yes... magisterial, that one word I literally just found out existed
*magisterial*
And they always end on this freaking big note like every good science fiction story I've ever read
So why do you believe this what exactly makes something well written
It's almost like if mister Gates himself wrote all of it
Imagine a world where everyone thinks the same way, always agrees, and sees things from the same angle. Sounds peaceful, right? Not quite. This, in a nutshell, is the paradox of unanimity: sometimes, more agreement can actually mean less certainty.
While we tend to trust decisions everyone supports, the truth is, the chances of everyone being truly independent and correct are surprisingly low. Why? Because we're human, and shared biases, groupthink, and even emotional contagion can easily sway everyone in the same direction, even if it's wrong.
This doesn't mean every viewpoint needs to be extreme or completely different. But in ambiguous situations, where right and wrong aren't clear-cut, diversity of thought is crucial. It's like a puzzle: the more perspectives you have, the better chance you have of seeing the whole picture and finding the right solution.
Here's the catch: blindly following the majority can be dangerous. Think about how easily rumors spread, even if they're untrue. In complex moral decisions, groupthink can lead to mass delusion, where everyone believes something is right simply because everyone else does. This can have serious consequences, hindering our ability to distinguish right from wrong and leading to harmful choices.
So, the next time you encounter a situation where everyone seems to agree, remember the paradox of unanimity. Don't be afraid to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and see things from different angles. It might be uncomfortable, but it could also save us from making regrettable choices and pave the way for a more nuanced and just society.
I really liked this. Beyond the great writing, the performance, and timing, there is that iconic *GONG* banger of a theme song that lets you know something is about to upend (append?) my understanding of something fundamental.

Some others you could look into would be Michael Malice, Jock Willink, Naval Ravikant, Lex Fridman, Jordan Peterson, Jonathan Pageau, and plenty of others I’m missing.
This. Right now my country is stuck in a seemingly infinite loop of election cycles and nobody seems to offer any sort of legislation to prevent this from happening.
What bothers me about this is that it made me conclude that the people that lead the system will never fix its flaws because, ultimately, it works in their favor. Even the smaller parties find it convenient.
The biggest problem with democracy is that no matter what party gets elected, the public is still ruled by politicians. You can't trust politicians to rely on anything but their own interests, even if their intentions are great. A change in the system is too risky for a politician to make, unless they want to risk losing their seat.
plz make more videos
Honestly this might be one of the most important videos I’ve ever seen. I think about this constantly even two years after it came out. It explains so much about the things I hear people say, and has changed the way I communicate for the better.
I've watched this video a handful of times since it was new, I think it's one of the most important videos on UA-cam
I love how Vsauce has evolved over the many years from a bunch of interestingly connected factoids and tidbits to grandiose concepts being accessibly explained.
*Propaganda funded by Bill Gates
@@jamesmoriarty3877 get off the internet and go outside
If you actually go back and check, Vsauce evolved from stuff like "Top E3 Rumors You MISSED" and "Top 5 Gratuitous BOOBS in Gaming" type content. Seeing and hearing Michael in a video called "9 More Video Game WTFs [CONTINUED]", which has a thumbnail of a lady squeezing their breasts together, it's a weird dissonance... =)
@@jamesmoriarty3877 Not a fan of Bill Gates myself but if this is propaganda it's doing one poor job at it. It requires quite a lot of thinking to understand and agree with by propagandasing standards.
@@jamesmoriarty3877 Eh Bill Gates has done more for humanity than you and your entire family ever will.
Someday Michael is just going to turn into a sentient cloud of gas that occasionally shares some divine knowledge with us mortals
occasionally
is that not what he already is?
you are pathetic idolizing a youtuber
@@JamesBongo what so your saying we shouldnt tell people they are good? Thats kind of pathetic telling us that compliments are bad

Had me until the Bill Gates book endorsement. It would take a lot to convince me that man truly cares about the climate.
im not used to hearing him say “or is it” without moon men playing
He still uses moon men in his videos though
05:47 my friend
I'm not used to anything
Yesss right? I picked on that as soon as it happend
...or are you?
This is the only channel my boomer dad will ever watch on UA-cam. Any other channel I try to show him and he’ll say it isn’t his thing or he’s too old for it. But he likes, “the bald science guy.”
you can never go wrong with a bald science guy.

Thanks again for answering questions that cripple me and raising ones that paralyse me.
Ah, Vsauce. The place I go to when I want to feel enlightened and depressed at the same time.
I just feel enlightened lol
😆😂
sometimes I watch and realize that other people are probably falling asleep to michaels voice at the same time
Agreed
ahahaha this was a good joke lol
Michael: I am not an elephant.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my whole day is ruined
nice one
so you're saying there's no disappointment-ometer???
I'm making a whole pot of pity tea for me... not an elephant?! ...how can that be..?
No. But Mr. Gates is the elephant in the room
I can measure it ! I have machine called "DISAPPOINTMENT-O-METER(MY PERSPECTIVE TO SEE THE SELFISH WORLD....)"! It will surely help you !
This is one of the MOST important/powerful videos (based on PURE logic only) I've watched in a long time, that I truly wish all of humanity could sit and watch/listen to.... and comprehend EVERYTHING that he's saying. Absolutely well done. 👏👏👏👏🙌🐐👑💐💜
I wish I could meet more people who think like this. I feel so alone with my perspective. Everyone in my life is so consumed by their distractions they run out of time to be curious.
Hi
I love the way Michael has shifted towards topics that are still interesting and informative for us as we get older..
His intellect is growing faster than the amount of hair strands i lose every day. Michael is a difficult subject decoding savant now.
To think his first video was farting Mario.
You misspelled wokeness and virtue-signaling. Nothing about this video is interesting or informative. He essentially gives credence to the schizo views of emotional children, rather than focusing on objective reality.
He and other large channels are using their status as popular UA-camrs to appeal to the uneducated masses.
And if his partnership with Bill Gates, of all people, doesn't tell you what's going on here, there's no hope for you. Everything's been spelled-out already. Wake up.
@@jamesmoriarty3877 i bet youre so fun at parties
@@jamesmoriarty3877 Why do you watch his videos today then, if you make out what you said about him to be so negative?
It’s inconceivable that content like this is free and that this man right here hasn’t done anything but good to the world.
