Good to hear someone else bang on about fires on the moor, I spent best part of 3 decades up there fighting them, gorse fires are more dangerous than grass but both can spread faster than you can run so never be tempted to investigate, call it in and bugger off quick.
Good little film, loved the time lapse.

Wow... My hats off to you! Yea it dawned on me up there how dry it had got in such a short space of time, then how remote it was... Was a frightening thought. Thanks for watching!

Great video yet again, little tip i find works well with the 3x3 tarp tent setup, is to not put the short pole on the inside, instead use a length of cord to the webbing on the outside then wrap that to the pole as a lifter then pull out taught to the ground. Find this method gives you more space inside and no risk of kicking it over in the night.

I use that set-up a lot and one of the issues is flapping due to the large area of fabric exposed to the wind on the sides. I add a little pebble on the inside and gather the fabric around it with some cord. This makes a guy attachment point on the outside, which reduces the flapping.

Take a bearing....good grief, you are sounding professional these days mind. What a stunning place to hike out and great weather as well. What an evening indeed and that map looked canny mind, although a compass still baffles me and winging it is what I do a lot as well lol, as well as a few prayers on occasions. It looked a great set up and the Mountain Warehouse sleeping bag looked good, especially as it had your bivvy bag in as well, very compact. Shame the wind got up in the night but at least you had the bonus of a great sunrise. Cheers Alan

Nice one Trev 👌. If your new bivi is a British army bivi then it'll be big enough to fit your sleeping mat in as well. Your tarp tent just needs a few tweaks here and there for it to be solid and not flappy. Use the shortened pole outside with a guyline to prop the back out 👍. Had to send my new walking shoes back as the size 9 was really big but took delivery of some 8.1/2s this morning and they are pukker mate. Dartmoor residents now bud 👍. Thanks for sharing Trev. I saw on one of the walking forums that last night there was a Bivi World Record Attempt, which by the looks of the photographs was pretty good. I've never tried camping in a bivi only, but fancy giving it a go. The Alpkit Hunka is a popular choice.

The sleeping mat you linked isn't the naturehike one. The new 2019 naturehike sleeping mat looks interesting though. You can get a inflatable bag with it so you don't have to blow it up with your mouth. I've heard the moisture in your breath can create mold inside the mat.
