That is some beautiful scenery . I feel like I am camping when I watch your videos but I don’t have to do any work so I love it. Donna Northern MIchigan USA
Beginning at 2:40, Andy described the little woodland as something from Middle Earth, and indeed, it has that look and feel, maybe even Dr. Suess's whimsicalness. A Simon and Andy collaboration wild camp in this magical woodland would have been divine.
Dude, you and Simon have the life id rather live. Id trade you any day. I thought id retire driving coast to coast trucking. Unfortunately i got put down due to becoming disabled. Living the life of pain turned misery since i very much miss being on the road. Would love to camp again. But thanks for your videos like i said to Simon i live through the videos to keep me sane. Ive watched all of his and will have to backtrack to watch all of yours. God bless you
36:50, what an idyllic and pleasant spot. Magnificent and stately trees. The sheep bleating in the background is quite soothing. Beginning 39:15, "Quite a slog today; my dogs are barkin'. "
That was one of the things that hit me when I first started watching this channel: I was always scanning the background for danger. But no mountain lions, no coyotes, no wolfs, no rattlesnakes, and no bears. I suppose for some taking the danger out might be a negative, but not for me.
My neck of the woods! Walk here often with the dogs. There an old dissused gun powder works further up the road, its got the tall chimney still standing and tumbled down houses. Its called Powder Mills. Well worth a visit on your next trip down to Dartmoor! Love your videos, they are fab!
Powder Mills ! Of course - gives the game away somewhat - looks lovely round there - Grimpen Mire from the Hound of the Baskervilles came to mind in all that mist lol
I didn’t realize it until I watched this video and really to to heart what you said about beginning to feel claustrophobic being in the trees so much! I live with so many trees and I have been beginning to feel the same but just didn’t see it. I can’t leave here but I certainly can take down some trees to let in more sunshine ….that’s for sure! Thanks so much for your videos and all you offer not only in sharing information about things you have tried out and your great cooking but, also, of yourself which adds so much to your videos Thanks again! God bless you and your endeavors!
Wow, cant believe I've been following your adventures for over three years now Andy. I have to say i really enjoyed you returning to the shelter you built in the forest. Sending you good tidings and festive blessing 🙌 🙏
You're a absolute joy to watch! You've always got a big smile and a kind word and that is extremely hard to find in this world these days my friend! Please keep on doing what your doing because from one camper to another, you're nailing it! Can't wait for the next video take care brother.
Beautiful countryside. I love that you do your photography and explanation as you go along. It feels as if we all are right alongside with you exploring and camping. Have a safe, fun hike ❤️
Lovely camp Andy!💚 I remember that place from that older video! It is still a beautiful place to camp. Ooooh and the wild horses too! Superb! Glad you could get away and have a change of scenery. I’m looking forward to your next camp. 🏕🔥🦌
Great seeing you out of the woods and out into the open air Andy!😊👍🏻 Yep that wood looks like a set from LOTR! Next weekend I’m going for my first solo camp for a long while - not been bike packing for a few years as my MS has got a bit worse - so doing it at a camp site to get used to it again, then looking at venues posted in the Nearly Wild Camping Club. My perfect birthday weekend treat! 😊
"My dogs are barking" It's a long time since I heard that! This is a fine spot to camp in the ruins of the farm buildings, just thinking of the people who lived here long ago and their history. Your hike over the moors was brill, I loved the traditional stone bridge.
Great one Andy!!!! Loved that drone shot of your second camp. That site looked amazing. Love seeing you out on Dartmoor also. I'd like to see it myself one day. First read about it in Hound of the Baskervilles back in high school. Really enjoyed Doyle's description of it. He was really able to form a vision in my mind. Thanks for posting. Wish you the best.
Lovely video, thanks for taking us with you. It's astounding to look at those huge rocks and think people put them there; that bridge was awesome. Take care.
Andy, I don't know how I missed this one. Thought I seen them all. By far, this is my favorite. Love the history. More like this if you could. Best wishes from the US.
Loved getting a cherry cobbler out of a USMC MRE, used to make my day, chicken sausage and beans for breakfast, meatballs and pasta for dinner followed by the cobbler 👌
Thanks for the video mate. I have to say that the ruins you camped in is one of the prettiest and most serene places I have seen on any video yet. Lovely.
23:49 Give my regards to Frodo and the rest of the gang at the Shire! What an absolutely beautiful area! Doubt i'll be able to go see it in my lifetime but I sure would like to.
Seeing the channel name brings back memories of ranging out from my house in Riverview Park on my trusty Raleigh Chopper, sometimes with a friend and we had little primus stove, water bottles, a simple bivvy sheet and some blankets and we would head out into the wilds of Kent. Cobham woods of course was a good campout unless the hermit gave us a hard time, Sheppey was more common esp as had an uncle and a father who worked for BR in and around there but we did adventure further like the old fort at Borstal and one heroic effort we made it to Reculver but we were so sore from the ride we bunked the train back next day with our bikes persuading the guard to make a stop at Milton Halt (handy having BR dad and uncle). Now in Dorset but do miss Kent a lot.
Thanks Andy, love these relaxing videos (just chilling). You're an extremely skilled video maker, making the viewer feel you're addressing them personally.

Lovely walk about Andy. I enjoyed see the land scape all around and yes I remember the sudden blizzard from last time you were there. Nice enough tent, but i would still always go for an outer up first tent for backpacking. Too many times the weather so bad the inner would have been soaked in seconds. Good to see the pack food has improved over the years, except army rations, which may have improved but still not the best. Another nice vid, thanks.
Ahhhhh that's better. I've been working or off grid the last wee while so I've missed these videos. That's probably the only good thing about coming back from the wilderness, catching up on your adventures. 🍻👍
Hi Andy. Great to see a new video. My family and I live in Plymouth and hike the moors weekly, also wild camp a lot too. Wistman's Woods is beautiful, not very large but beautiful and fascinating. We've walked through there many times. Hope you enjoyed it 😊
I didn't expect the moor to be so pretty! One of my favorite Sherlock Holmes stories is "The Hound Of The Baskervilles."
Love those ruins and all that stonework. That mist begs for a strange tale.
Lots of tails about this place a lot of supernatural bs unless u believe in that stuff its aprently very haunted

I don’t think so
Thanks for reminding me how lucky we are to have places like this in the UK . Best wishes.

I wonder how old that rock bridge is. That’s amazing
Its called a clapper bridge , me thinks it is the one at Postbridge 👍
