Your need to give Comfortably Numb live fr9m either the Pulse or Delicate Sound of Thunder concerts! If you think the you love Gilmore's guitar now.. just wait..HA
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE by Pink Floyd is the GREATEST piece of music ever performed, played, sung or written!!!! You are missing out on life if you haven’t heard it yet!!! I heard it when i was 9. It’s served me quite well over the next 40 years. Still and forever the GOAT!!! You can’t wait to hear it now!!! It’s alright, we KNOW you want to hear it now!!! (You’ll get it when you hear it)
Did you miss one of Nick's drumstick going flying out of his hand? (20:32 in the non-split version) He recovers so smoothly you have to be paying attention to notice. There must be a different edit, because it's in a long shot in this, but I've seen it from a close-up just on him from his left side.
@@BruceHoultFlying drumstick syndrome happens all the time to all drummers...... as well as splintered and snapped stick syndrome....lol The beauty of a drummers skill is in how they play on like nothing happened. Good drummers cover it up brilliantly and only other good drummers notice the blip, and are themselves impressed with the smooth cover up.
@Rassskle Also good bands don't stop playing when some catastrophe happens. I watched a guitarist have everything that can go wrong happen. First his string snapped, then his tuning knob fell off and finally his pick ups stopped working. The band kept going with only bass, drums and vocals until another band gave the guy their guitar to use. Didn't subtract from the performance at all.
There are some little tiny misses if you really look for them. But the thing is, that is natural in real music. It's part of what makes it all human and so much more intriguing than some robotic sounding stuff. All in all though it is absolutely insane to stay this tight and close to perfection for 24 minutes, it's nuts.

Everyone. If you have not seen “Sorrow” from the pulse tour you are missing something in your life. It is so damn good you can’t believe what you’re hearing. Just fantastic !!!
The original is off their album _"Meddle",_ and that's the album where Pink Floyd really locks on the musical direction they want to go, and they really show just how good they can be at writing and playing longer-form songs. Really coming up with distinctive sounds.
I completely agree, don't really care for anything before Meddle but Dark Side of the Moon onwards would be a better place to start listening if he's to go for albums. Listening to Meddle is a real treat after that.
Loved the look of disappointment at the end lol. It's amazing that a song this long leaves you disappointed that it ended. At least this is only part 1. 😅
Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me I still choke up when I read or hear that. So simple. So beautiful. It really was, as Roger said, the beginning of empathy in their music. The beginning of writing about other people. Great reaction, brother. Looking forward to seeing you continue your journey through this amazing group
They sure know how to create art which touches the soul, in the form of music and lyrics! Really appreciate the comment brother and thank you for watching, much more Pink Floyd to come!
I'm enjoying your Pink Floyd reactions very much. Echoes part 2 should probably be your next stop, then you should listen to the Dark Side of the Moon, full album.
You're only half way through the song. Live At Pompeii was the only time the song got split into 2 halves, hence the rather abrupt ending. Check out Part 2 also.
I have been loving Pink Floyd since 1979 when I was 10 years old. They are a 3 way tie for my favorite band. Floyd, Queen, and Rush. Led Zeppelin and The Who come next. It makes me happy to see the next generations discovering them and loving them too
Comfortably Numb Live Pulse 1994 is A MUST SEE - although you´ve heard the album version, it is one of the greatest things you can experience musically.
"This sounds so raw". Recorded on location with mobile equipment in 1971 -- around 52 years ago! This song (or anyway a studio version of it with more production) took up the entire 2nd side of their "Meddle" album. And you've only heard half of it. There's a whole more more ... and more changes ... to come. Some of us were recommending a link with the whole song in one part.
Gilmour played SOLOs like they were meant to be played and they meant something and you felt something and you felt it in your bones and it gave you shivers ... and this was after listening to it 100 times
"Live in Pompeii" is a concert, a complete work. You have to watch it together. Not just one piece. And make yourself a second espresso to go with it. 🎸🎶♥☯☮
All alone without an audience in the coliseum of Pompeii with a beautiful piece of music that transports you to a far different time is awesome. Thanks for your review!
Love it!!! Waiting for you to do 1994 Pulse concert of SORROW. This will cement your infatuation with Pink Floyd and Dave's ridiculous guitar abilities. My favorite live perf of all time...period. keep going!!
I'd suggest reacting to the studio version next, also other PF tracks worth reacting to are "money" "dogs" "pigs (three different ones)" "high hopes" and "another brick in the wall" . And obviously welcome to the pink floyd world...
Not sure if you know, but Nick Mason (the drummer) is touring Oz this September with his band playing early Floyd songs, called "The Echoes Tour". Two gigs in Melbourne, one in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth.
It's time you visited the Pulse concert. Coming Back To Life, Sorrow, Run Like Hell, Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, High Hopes...what the hell, just watch the entire show...it will blow your pip.
Echoes is the climax to the Opera that is the Album "Pink Floyd, Meddle" and IMO this is one that must be listened too in its entirety, just like Rush`s Album, 2112 and a few others to get the full experience that is Pink Floyd! Some say they experience music as colors, I most certainly wouldnt want to look at a Rainbow that didnt have all the colors present!
Another great reaction to Pink Floyd here we go. There is another long Pink Floyd song that is definitely another masterpiece. The studio version of Pink Floyd's "Dogs" is the recommendation I would say. Thanks for doing this reaction....going to watch now.
This is one of my favourite songs ever. To me it is as close to perfection as you can get. I have played this to both my youngest kids during bedtime when they were small. No matter how speeded or angry they were they almost always calmed down when they heard the "ping" in the beginning. 😄 The whole Pompeii live is great. Another of my favourite tunes from it is "One of these days". I can hoghly recommend giving it a listen.
The scary thing about David Gilmour is that he has never stopped improving as a guitarist. Have a listen to this song from his solo tour in 2006. The guitar solo is just the most gorgeous and emotional solo you will ever hear. "A Great Day For Freedom", live in Gdansk ua-cam.com/video/hzYvF7sWWPw/v-deo.html You'll need at least two candles for this one :)

Cm’on everyone needs to realize that this was made in 71 and captures the incredible talent and foresight of one of the greatest bands ever. 1971!!!!!!
They have everything placed perfectly to get that short echo recorded for that ethereal effect in an old Roman stadium with near perfect acoustics. The mud pools etc are close to the location. There is a part two.
I went to see this film (Live In Pompeii) in '75 at a theater in Brisbane; pretty stoned.I was. 😵💫. Mate; it was brilliant! They did this between Ummagumma and Dark Side Of The moon, and as far as I am concerned this era was PF at their peak. If you get the time please watch the entire film. "One Of These Days (I'm Going to Cut You Into Little Pieces)", "Careful With That Axe Eugene" or "Astronomy Domine" should be your next listen from this concert...without an audience. ✌✌
I saw it too, from all way across the other side of the world, in NYC USA. You could cut the thick, smoky air with a knife. Looking back, I don't think I appreciated nearly enough just how massively special they were/are.

Heads up. The original album version is the entire Side 2 of the album Meddle. It has an extended "sound scape" section in the middle, great to let your imagination but not necessarily a great reaction piece. The live at Pompeii Part 2 starts with this "sound scape" before returning to the main tune.

please do more PF. Love your reactions. The middle 3 songs of Wish You Were Here are a must-listen, as well as Sorrow from A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Dogs, Pigs and Sheep are also wonderful tracks.
If you want a short beautiful track "Pillow of Winds" is an unusual love song by Pink Floyd If you want something with more punch, then a mostly instrumental "One of these Days" Live Pulse Concert (both are on the Meddle album) Oh and you still have 3 tracks that sit in the middle of Shine on you crazy diamond on the album Wish You Were Here:- 1. Welcome to the Machine 2. Have a Cigar 3. Wish you were here
I’m old enough and sappy enough that some of these songs make me weep. It’s scary. I didn’t know this was so old and David Gilmour so young (and hot, like a eat rock’n’roll star).

There's nothing like Floyd... No one has ever been close to them in the way they sound
Some of the BEST music ever recorded !!
US AND THEM,,,,,,,WITH LYRICS,,,,,,,THANKS
What a great reaction to a truly great live performance 😅😅😅
They end the "concert" with part 2. The whole thing is about an hour. They play at night as well.
There isn’t a bad Floyd song.. enjoy your journey my friend! x
please do more PF. Love your reactions. The middle 3 songs of Wish You Were Here are a must-listen, as well as Sorrow from A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Dogs, Pigs and Sheep are also wonderful tracks.
If you want a short beautiful track "Pillow of Winds" is an unusual love song by Pink Floyd
If you want something with more punch, then a mostly instrumental "One of these Days" Live Pulse Concert
(both are on the Meddle album)
Oh and you still have 3 tracks that sit in the middle of Shine on you crazy diamond on the album Wish You Were Here:-
1. Welcome to the Machine
2. Have a Cigar
3. Wish you were here
Great video! A live performance doesn't require a live audience. Technically, it means it was recorded in one take, just like a concert is one take.
this is my very favorite solo out of Gilmour. it just evokes feeling and i cant get it out of my head.
I’m old enough and sappy enough that some of these songs make me weep. It’s scary.
I didn’t know this was so old and David Gilmour so young (and hot, like a eat rock’n’roll star).
Being a long time Pink Floyd fan , I like your reactions. A truly magnificent collection of soulful sounds.
In 2015 , they returned to Pompeii for a full on concert. Check it out.
Oh awesome will have to check that out too!
Thank you for the comment my friend glad you're enjoying the reactions and thank you for watching!
2016 (I’m guessing a typo 🤗)
