On The Turning Away...live. One of Gilmour's best live solos in my opinion.
Pink Floyd "on the turning away"(1989-07-15)FM by think floyd.61 on you tube over 8 million views
On the turning away really touches the soul like so so many other of there songs
I could not agree more…..the LIVE version is AMAZING🤩
Absolutely ! .. Live from the Delicate Sound Of Thunder tour. You must react to that one bro!
Agreed
Like in Comfortably Numb, the guitar solo in this song is also outstanding and one of the finest I've ever heard in my life. Simply sublime!
I could listen to that guitar for another 15 minutes just the intro
Minimum! 🤘
I'll give props to Guy Pratt for that great bass playing.
On the turning away ( live remastered) , one of the best solos ever
and you're hearing a compressed crappy youtube sound.
on this tour they used a state of the art quadrifonic system, and it was so clean, so clear and vibrant, that it felt like you were sitting in your living room with headphones.
this concert man... there are no words.
No one puts on a performance like Pink Floyd, they go all out and spare no expense! Pink Floyds production is off the charts, they ALWAYS sound stupendous live.
This Pulse concert is the last legg of PFs' "The Division Bell" World Tour in 1994. The tour was from March 3rd to October 29th, this Pulse concert was on October 20th. The whole world tour was 112 concerts in 68 cities in 17 countries, it was the biggest grossing tour ever att,... grossing over 250 million dollars. The tour was also the largest att. as far as people, equipment and logistics.
Because of the numbers of shows being performed, and the time it took to "load in", and set up, and "load-out", and tear down, they needed 3 identical stages and equipment. All 3 stages, the lights, lasers, rigs equipment, huge quadrophonic sound system, etc. was all built and owned by Pink Floyd.
Because they had 68 concerts in North America alone, they HAD to have multiple stages, (3), rigs, equipment, sound systems, lighting etc., everything you see here, they had 3 of these, leap-frogging from venue to venue across North America.
Load in and set up took 3 and a half days, and tear down and load out was another 2 days, that's why they needed 3 identical stages +!
Approximately 700 tons of steel, on 53 trucks, a crew of over 160 people. The stage itself was modeled after the Hollywood Bowl venue, the stage itself was 180 feet long, with a 130-foot arch. Incredible stuff!
Anything from Pulse is amazing. Keep up with Pink Floyd. Great reaction ❤
"There's No Way Out Of Here" is another amazing Gilmour solo song.
Next do "Come On" by Oktaf Kanis 👌🏻
UA-cam should be charged with war crimes for putting ads in Pink Floyd songs. I would recommend trying "Have a Cigar" next, the studio version, amazing song with an incredible solo, and there's a cool story behind the recording.
Being a guitarist i always thought his guitar has more presence in their sound than most bands I can only imagine going up their and playing his rig the power coming out that guitar is rarely equaled
next one from Pulse concert , Coming Back to life .. 😎👍🎶🎶
You said it! How many bands can play a live performance better than the studio version? Not many will invest the money to get the best people to back em up for the tour.
High hopes for high hopes pulse
David always hits that perfect note! ✌️
This song grabs you right off the jump. It starts with tones that grab your attention and you can't look away. Then the stage goes black and you are left alone to drift into the darkness. Sorrow is as much theater as music, and when you think you will be gently landed Gilmour grabs you one last time in those sweeping sounds that you feel in your soul. No one does it better than PF and I think no one ever will...
On the turning away from delicate sound of thunder tour is amazing
Absolutely LOVE the smile on your face when you finally realize............... Great reaction, man!
The drummer that's jumping up in the air and striking the symbols is Gary Wallace. He's been with David Gilmour since the mid-1980s. The main drummer who sitting down is Nick Mason and he's the actual Pink Floyd drummer! They have two drummers 2 keyboardists and two guitarists and the reason for that is because they want to be able to recreate the deep surround sound that you get from a Pink Floyd album! They want to create that sound live for everyone which is why they put speakers behind you on both sides of you and in front of you up on the stage!! When you go to a Floyd concert you are engulfed by music because you're surrounded by speakers kind of like being inside of a pair of giant headphones!!!
That's awesome! Could only imagine how phenomenal they sound live 😮
Nick Mason (founding member and drummer) was the main drummer and then there was Gary Wallis as percussionist, jumping around inside his rig.
Reaction request: Oktaf Kanis - Come On, thanks! 🔥
Nice request man, it's a banger 👌🏻
@@JoshRein9 Yeah, thanks 🔥
This concert and this song in particular is just phenomenal. Gilmour is just amazing on the guitar, the way he controls the feedback on the intro and outro is just masterful. Such an emotive solo, never get bored of watching and hearing this. Keep them coming sevsimo, loving your reactions. Everyone reacts to music in different ways, you do you man, we're here for it
I would be happy playing a cow bell if it meant being on stage with Pink Floyd.
This concert was remastered in 4K.
That’s why it’s so clear.
From the same Pulse Concert, check out RUN LIKE HELL and also TIME.
He turns the volume knob all the way up right before he plays with the whammy bar to kick start the harmonics. once he gets the wail he's looking for he does sort of twirl the whammy bar to manipulate the sound. This song as all about volume. When I saw Gilmour at Madison Square Garden in 2016, he played the opening of this song so loudly that I literally could feel the inside of my chest vibrating. No joke. I'm a little older now, so eye sight and hearing not as good as it once was, and during this part of the song I actually lost hearing in my left ear. It just turned off. Freaked me out. If I see live music now, I keep my airpods in now on noise canceling to keep that from happening again.
Any Live Pulse song is amazing.
Pink floydd are legends of rock n roll. Sounds awsome. Trippie sounding.
This is his best guitar solo, in my opinion, and one of Pink Floyd's best songs. The edited version they put on the CD flows better.
I listen to this song blasting on surround sound weekly for decades.
There isn't any other band like Pink Floyd. Pulse is definitely the best live show ever, and I was blessed, for watching the tour. Just SOBERB.
I was a young musician playing keyboard/piano but heavy metal fan . Richard Wright show me that we can make great music with electronic keyboard 👌 love him for that 🤟 RIP Legend 🖐️
We'll never make another David Gilmour, and that is a great tragedy for music. We were lucky to get one, a giant among men 🎸
Still to this day Greatest Live concert ever. Will never forgive myself for not going to their stop on their tour here in California in OAKLAND 🥲🥲🥲✌🏼❤️
Getting YT adverts on a Pink Floyd video during a reaction on top of the adverts during the main video I’m watching is like getting run over twice in a row….😣 Still loved your reaction tho Bro! 😎
🤣🤣🤣 cheers bro appreciate it glad you did!
Couldn't have put it better myself 😂
You should get youtube ad blocker, it's free, easy and saves a lot of grief! Only works on google chrome though.
OMG! Finally you did Sorrow! My patience paid off through your ads plus mine! Well Sev, great reaction to a great guitar solo. I enjoyed it! Next thing to do to blow your socks off is to react to Deep Purple “Child in time” LIVE version 1970! Keep going Sev!!
I'm glad it paid off haha ads everywhere these days!
Appreciate it my friend I'll check it out 🤘🤘
The Division bell is my best album
Wow! Not many people choose that one. Must say it's very enjoyable. I always get annoyed listening to the radio in my car because everything they announce High Hope coming up next, I get tricked and they play Panic! At the Disco instead of Pink Floyd... Very annoying...
David Gilmore of Pink Floyd, and Dimebag Darrel of Pantera both new how to bend a string to whatever note they wanted. So different, but both were masters of the craft. Glad you are enjoying seeing one of the greatest to ever pick up the instrument. David Gilmore is my all time favorite guitarist. Cheers 🍻
Gilmour
Guitar masters.
Aliens after the landing: We bring you the gift of teleportation device !
Earth: Here are the Pnk Floyd albums. And remember... you owe us.. BIG TIME !
I have seen the Floyd 3 times. Live in Venice Italy was the best. 200,000 showed up for the show in 1989. If you have 20 minutes to spare, Echoes Live in Pompeii will blow you away👍
THIS LIVE VERSION SOUNDS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL! yup! this whole album is an awesome experience to go through! the bassist is nuts! everyone is on point! keep having fun!
It is.
"Pulse 1994" 14 sold out days in a row also their last. 200,000 watts of power 200 ton stage, 128 wireless speakers, 53 semi's to move. Disco ball is a FU to music critics who said they won't sell because they don'y play dance music. hence; 1983 album cover Pink Floyds collection of dance songs. Gilmour speaks thru his guitar, Live at Pompeii " In any tongue" Dave at 70, the only person to play there twice since 79 AD.
The notes that pierce the soul, you can ascend to increasing heights with this concert. Listening in quadraphonic HQ with your eyes closed will give you a nerve tingling sensation.
I think you would love the live(pulse of course) of "Keep Talking" 🎸 Gilmore becomes one with the guitar 🎸he actually does 🎸 seriously 🎸
My favorite!!! Love it. Try LEARNING TO FLY, same concert.
Personally, I think the most important thing while listening to Pink Floyd is to have headphones. ❤️✌️
Not only is it live, but 30 years ago. Never eclipsed, Never to be eclipsed...PF.
This song is brutal and obscure !
I love your enthusiasm for Pink Floyd,
Coming Back to Life on Pulse should also be visited. Great song about overcoming
I recommend watch the whole Pulse Concert it’s fire ,They do the complete Dark Side Of The Moon and all their other hits
this is y i love been British we have the best bands in the world.............
Just about the time you think you've heard all of David's unique songs, this one comes along and grabs you. I've never seen PF live, but have seen Brit Floyd 5x and will again soon. This song with the lasers is amazing. So unique, so enjoyable. Another Gilmour classic.
The albums are for closing your eyes to, the concerts where definitely an EYE OPENER 😂 trust me, I've seen them a couple of times..😅
It was a gigantic show
One of the drummers is standing, there are two, the other is seated.
Gilmour is rightly proud of Sorrow, it's 100% his. He never had much confidence in his lyrics yet Sorrow proves he can write as well as anyone. Of course, the solos are perfect as usual.
Yes, that was me and it is hard to keep your eyes open Floyd are a total artistic experience from the album covers to the lyrics to the music and the fantastic live performances the best way to listen to Pink Floyd is to put your headphones on and turn out the lights and play the album from start to finish without stopping. Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall they are concept Albums although the songs stand alone as masterpieces. on the album, they are chapters of a book that relate and lead into the next chapter to tell a whole story it will blow your mind.
They were among the first bands to use sound effects, tape loops and synthesizers. The first band to use lighting effects and quadrophonic sound in their live performances. Their album covers were artistic in many ways Atom heart mother had a picture of a Hereford cow on the front, Meddle had a picture of an ear, Dark side of the moon a prism with a rainbow through it, Animals a picture of Battersea Power Station London with an inflatable pig flying over it, Wish you were here coming in black plastic wrapping with a sticker on it once removed it was a picture of two men shaking hands one of them on fire.
Nick Mason is the drummer. The other man is the percussionist. Nick Mason sits calmly at the drums, barely ever moving. His drum attacks are measured and precise.
No one can bend the strings quite like David. Master of the Stratocaster. True Masters , all of them. If you can check out Mother live with Roger there. I think like 1983.
Oh, hell yes……one of my faves as well….The LIVE version… albeit I get fed up that most reactors think it is a sweet little ode to Mommies….LMAO
Try high hopes from this concert. Epic.
i forgot about this music. It was 1 of my favorites... age....
You get it brother, you get it!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥
Gilmours 1st solo album. Raise My Rent, no words just a solo that lasts 5 1/2 minutes
Really love the reaction! Next you should do 'Come On' by Oktaf Kanis, thank you!
Whammy with feedback…phenomenal.
Lots say 'in the turning away'. But I think you should play 'high hopes' live pulse to see Dave Gilmour play slide Guitar. Or watch 'Echoes part 1' live in Pompeii from 1973 when they perform in an empty arena.
You should take a look in the "Run Like Hell" sing, with closes this fantastic and epic show.
Gotta love Pink Floyd! They where my dads favorite band! Stay awesome Sevsimo 🖤🤘 Great reaction!!
When you said the percussionist was having the time of his life I hit the subscribe button. He's as heroic as David Gilmour 😏
The turning away--- Pulse GOT TO BE DONE
No doubt I'm on team Choppy Drop. You're on it, brother!
Nothing that has been or ever will be again like Floyd. Try the song Fearless next! You have about 130 songs more to do from them! Lol! But yeah im serious❤
To comment on closing your eyes: While I agree with the person who mentioned it, you do you brother. The way I see it, as long as you are appreciating the majesty of Pink Floyd and David Gilmour, that's all that matters. The fact that you are able to experience this makes my heart warm. At 52 years old, I've had the joy and privilege to have Pink Floyd in my life for my entire life.
You should take a look in the "Run Like Hell" sing, with closes this fantastic and epic show...
Check out out "One of These Days" off the Meddle album - one of my favorites and one of their heaviest! There are no other somgs like it in their catalog!
The feeling I had personally being at this concert in May of 1994 will never be matched. It was a sonic, visual and mind blowing experience and I am a lifelong drummer.
You can literally hear a pin drop when Dave plays! ❤️
It's so great watching your reactions to Pink Floyd. The joy and excitement you show is refreshing.
This has been my most favorite band since 1968 and still is today.
Utterly fantastic
luv ya pissed off reaction to the adds, lol, and u found a guitar god on this day, keep up the good work
🤣🤣 they just slip in an ad at the right time!
Cheers my friend!
OK. You definitely like prog... Prog rock and prog metal... Pink Floyd is definitely a must! Might want to checkout Rush. They've been around since the 70s.
I think you should have a listen to Pink Floyd's album. Animals... amazing album... start to finish... you'd dig it..
I really like your analysis, especially when it comes to Pink Floyd songs, which has been my favorite band since I was 8 years old, or 35 years old. If possible, I would like you to do an analysis of Jeff Beck featuring Imogen Heap Blanket. Thanks warrior!
Bro you gotta listen to dream theater! Specially the song “another day” but “metropolis part 1” and “breaking all illusions” are great as well. You’re going to get your mind blown!
Now on to the next great song on pulse live , High Hopes 😊. There’s so many great ones to listen to by Pink Floyd.
🙋🏿♀️ I'd be in charge of the 🔔 during the performance of 'Division Bell'! 😁 It's literally in 1 Key so 🤷🏿♀️ I couldn't mess it up! Just be in time and 😉 I'm good! 🤔 Not sure you've done that PF Song! But from the first time I heard it, I was like 😒 "I could play the 🔔 part so can I be in PF now?" 🙄 Only half joking... 😊🥰🐰
Great reaction!! The live version is the first time I heard this song - and to say I was blown away is an understatement!! Gilmour sounded like he was revving up a chainsaw from hell on the intro & outro...and he was coming for your soul! Just an incredible performance from all...this entire PULSE tour was perfection! I wish I had the ability to go back to see this live, but regretfully, I was only just getting into Floyd at the time...alas...the Blu-ray will have to do (and a kick a$$ sound system!)
Do a reaction for 'Oktaf Kanis - Come On' 😊
PLEASE make first time reaction on Pink Floyd - One of these days (PULSE 1994)!!!
Sorrow en chile gilmuor nos dejo a todos locos 😊😊
All of Davids' solos are top level. Pick one and you will be happy. For me its Fat Old Sun from Remember that Night. I am biased cuz I caught that tour in 2006.
May I suggest "High Hopes" from the same concert, and the song "On the turning away" from the delicate sound of thunder concert.
The opening and closing reminds me so much of the original Blade Runner movie.
I cant imagine being Gilmore with all that power onstage.l
Amazing song and performance !!!
Imagine if they were able to open the Sphere!
Forget U2..................
They sure don’t!!!! Look into Emerson Lake and Palmer✌🏼❤️
YEAH!! 🤘🏽🎸💗🔥
Great Live Performance ❤🔥Great Reaktion ✌️
do legion by tesseract. vocal performance of the year
GILMOUR LEGEND…!!!!
Try Mother, same concert.😉 🤘
Makes you just want to dance
You do YOU, that is all. Anything else is something someone else wants you to be, not a genuine reaction!
