- Stove description:
MORA 242 Coal Stove
History of this stove:
My great-grandfather used this stove. I found it in our loft. There was discovered rat skeleton inside.
Restoration info:
1. Cleaned
2. Scraped rough rust
3. Applied rust remover
4. Scraped again and cast iron polished
5. Applied protective oil
I wanted to keep original colors. Painting is not natural for stove. Oil is good for stop corrosion.

Love that you are restoring these beautiful works of art.Thank you from germany
They are beautiful, I would buy them right away. You must be a good person to take care of such a rare item.
Beautiful workmanship!!!
Now all you need to do is hook it up! Great job!
Very nice work 👌🏻😉
Great job. Just finished mine about a week ago. I used vinegar and a wire brush, then seasoned it like a cast-iron skillet. I'll see how well that preserves the metal from rusting again.
Did the cast iron seasoning work?
@@shortsweettoo so far, so good. its setting on a patio, where it's subjected to the year-round weather but not direct rain.
@@jakebrakebill Cool. Thanks for the update. Having watched many of these videos (and being an avid cast iron cook), I always felt that would be the best solution all around. Nice to hear.
@@shortsweettoo well I think it would still rust if left out, they have "Jet Hot" coating for car exhaust but its $$$$$$$
@@jakebrakebill Totally agree, but they were not meant to be left outside, lol. And of course, the classic cast iron method is always meant to be repeated continuously over time, but is very easy to top up. But nice to hear.
I just love the original look. I would never change it too much, just clean it and get it in working order
Nice job! The end result is lovely and it inspires us, who have old wood stoves, to move forward in the restoration process. I commend you for your progress, your patience, and your willingness to share with the rest of us who care.
That is a beautiful wood stove. I enjoyed watching you and I subscribed to watch more of your great work.
Excellent furnaces, the most reliable!
What a lovely stove! Glad to see it saved.
That a work of art to bad nobody take pride in making things today you are to be commended for bring life back to a well crafted piece.
Very good work, i just bought one and it is similar, and it was made in 1881 in Canada, have to do same restoration.
Just bought a 1894 Round Oak ,No.16 (16 inch diameter) today. It's rusty like yours, but will clean up as well as yours, I hope. Not going to use for heat , but will convert it into a BBQ pit. Thanks for the video. I tried a test patch with the drill wire wheel and it's beautiful.
Great job!
Good Work A new Stove.
I replayed the screw removal part 3 times. Wonderful technique sir. I applaud you. Thanks for sharing this video, it gives me hope that one day I might be able to overcome my biffness and not round off a screw head or break a door hinge.
Very well done. Thank you for sharing this.
The best hand Restoration video on UA-cam amazing!!!!
Great job! Looks amazing! Love that oil finish
so so cool !!!
Great job! Ignore the negative comments.
THIS IS THE BOMB MAN!!! GREAT JOB!!
What products did you use to treat it for rust? And then to oil it?
Well done. It looks amazing.
That’s quite a lot of cast detail. Nice find
Fire Mora looks great! You did a fine job with this ole girl she's awesome ready for
installation and fired up to go. I like these old fires cos they throw out the heat and
what to say of her Character? She's Primo! Well done dude, awesome job 😊
nice job looks great.
I would love to have one like that, I bet it works great. Very nice job. Enjoy.
Thank You Adam. Very satisfying to watch. i will not tell you what to do..... AND you gotta light a fire in a restoration like that, cut something with a blade / saw restoration, after the successful work, show in the video that it operates.
Wooow very nice, wonderful 👍👍👍
great job!!!! Compliments!
Awesome
Awesome looks damn good to me!😊
looks great, love the patina, im lazy i wood have sent it to a sandblaster
Very good restoration, I enjoyed watching your work👍
Well you wire brush very well but I would have liked to see more of a tear down and inspection of all parts. Then maybe a reclining of the firebox. Oh well.
But he dose it Adams Way
🙄
Brilliant fantastic
Nice Restore.
awesome work
Absolutely beautiful! What exactly is it are you spraying on it at the end
I love stoves.
A fancy leash on the dog of fire.
nice rusty.....and dirty 👍👍👍👍👍
Can you share what products you used in cleaning , polish , shine at the end ?
Can you please tell me what you were applying with the blue cloth that made it go white and also what spray you were using with the cloth? Thank you
👍👍👍Good job👍👍👍
Beauty work i am sure we would love to own this beautiful piece
i hope you never use this one indoors,; you would be dead in the morning
What a great result, ignore the people complaining in these comments. I notice they didn't point to their better video heh heh. Also what is that finishing oil you are using? I have a stove I am just starting to restore it as well.
Than you! I used Konkor 101. It is conservation oil. Can be used for stuck screws, guns, mechanics or conservation. I am not expert, but oil fulfilled the purpose. It smells only few days after application. Stove looks still same.
It's clear you love half done restorations!!!
keep it up 🙌
BELÍSSIMO...Maravilhoso...!!!

Nicely done...
Nice job but it would have been nicer to have been shown the name of the products being used..
pls the name of protective oil?
I've restored a lot of vintage stoves. You should have completely disassembled it, replaced the firebrick and gaskets.
Where can we find your restoration videos?
What is the name or manufacturer of this stove
No Sandblasting ??? Thats perfekt in this Case! Great Job
Thank you!
This is not a restoration this is a good cleanup to the parts you can get to and a paint job
Yes. Sorry I did it for first time. I experimented with it. I will try to do it better in next two planned stove restorations.
@@adamsway4676 cool next time strip completely i suggest

Good grief FHA
I couldnt make a silent video i would be laughing and farting
Even though this is 5 months old video that thing could cost a lot
What products do you need?
That's definitely a coal stove. The exhaust gasses are a good source of sulphuric acid for any aspiring chemist.
Ótimo trabalho....Parabéns !
Parlor Stove ✔️
Nope, not a restoration, just a general cleanup. Restoration involves complete disassembly and renewal of each individual part.
How can you possibly say complete renewal is a restoration if there is nothing left of the original? It’s a facsimile 💩
I don’t think you are qualified to make that statement 🤔🤷♂️
Mora Čechoslovák stove!
What a nice... reStoveration :)
@@adamsway4676 děkuji za odpověď :) lze použít i na litinové části ?
If u don't have a small potable sandblaster.
What did you do the rest of that morning?
I wouldn't call it a restoration, I noticed that one of the legs was loose and I wonder if the refractory stones also need to be replaced, they are usually cracked after many years of use, so it is not a restoration.
Would have been much better if you had listed the tools and products that you used. Like what did you apply as a preservative oil. Leaving out vital information helps no one.
You should have at least shown the label for the rust remover and polish.
Sorry, but I see only lot of scattered tea :D

Are you sure that is a wood burning stove? It seems more of a coal stove to me.
Not sure, but the way the ash shaker box is designed makes me think coal....
Sorry. You are right, it is coal stove :) Thank you.
Yes, it's obvious that small hole can't take any wood!
@@adamsway4676 hi I am thinking of buying one from a neighbor very similar to this one. She told me it’s a wood stove when I questioned her. Can you tell me how I can tell the difference between a coal and wood stove? The brand is Cora. Thanks
I was ok with this and then the mind-numbing music started. That's when I switched off.
