Nice cleanup - but you SHOULD have used Stove paint, and just SEASONED the interior parts with oil - as soon as you light a fire - it will burn off the paint - and possibly give off TOXIC Fumes.
I can point out one massive mistake - after brushing the rust, a lot was left in the crevices of cast iron. Remember to use a rust converter to get rid of it, otherwise, rust spots migth chew the metal undetneath the paint and make it flake off.

So if it not able to be used at a heat source, use it a a decorative piece. It was trash an not good for anything now at least its both beautiful and can be given a second life❤. New subscriber
Amazing a "66 year old" stove, the outer looked like a tin can yet it didn't have a single rust hole in it. I would have thought that with something so thin and so old the bottom would have burnt out at the least, yet it wasn't even deformed with the heat of the fire. The colour scheme left nothing to be desired.
Looks good, but the paint won't last long if the stove is used. These stoves used to be sold in their plain cast iron finish and the posher models were sold with an enamelled finish.
@@abdullahalibutler4703 I don't know about black paint, but there is a silver paint which is meant for hot surfaces. It works well on my motorcycle's exhaust pipe, so I reckon it would also be good for stoves.
When I was a kid we would repaint our wood stove with black heat resistant paint designed for that purpose. This paint doesn’t look safe and I wouldn’t want to breathe in whatever fumes it might give off.

all he did was scrape off the surface layer of rust and immediately put on primer. a real restoration would have also removed all casting imperfections, treated the metal against future rust, redone the heat treatment and screws and bolts, used primer and high temperature resistant paint (maybe the original color, which you can see in some of the disassembly sequences) . a quick clean and go, that's it. less time and attention to make a video quickly and cash in sooner.lastly, I didn't see any trace of the hard work. you?
r Real restoration would not have removed all casting imperfections, . It is the casting imperfections that give the characteristics of the piece. It is a shame people remove the original workings of a piece, just like when restorers remove the hammer marks on forged works and sand and polish them to look shiny and smooth. It loses the true value and age of the item.
That stove will stink up a house being painted ! If you are going to use it get it to bare metal and rub it down well with stove black/stove polish I did that ant the end of every heating season when I had my coal stove and wiped down the inside metal parts with used engine oil kept it like new .
Dude, do you think you could do a lot better job? I’m sure it took a long time to clean it up and fix it! I’m sure the original video was much longer than 12 minutes. It is called editing!
I completely agree, he didn't really deal with the rust situation and could have spent some time sanding and prepping it better. The paint didn't look like the heat resistant type either. A lot of rough edges left, all around a poor restoration.
Nice work 👍
I appreciate that he went straight for the sandblast instead of wasting time stalling for a longer video
I agree what a waste of time and it doesn't do as good of a job as the blaster does.

EXCELLENT JOB! 👍
Such a wonderful transformation 😍😍
Well done
You will never more light a fire in that painted stove, right?

When I was a kid there was a a special stove paint which as the name implies was especially for stoves.... Usually black I think

Too pretty to use! It looks fantastic.
Not stripped and cleaned down enough first for me. Probably needed dipping too before painting.
Ya, without stove cotton that's gonna snoke everywhere.

Where's your work? Let's see you restoring something
Sorry but I did not like the restoration or finished colour.
I think you meant the stove was built in 1958.
Такое впечатление будто бы облили какой-то глиной для придания вида ржавчины
Habe ich mir auch gedacht. 😊
keep it up
hernea pocazuha!!
What kind of penetrating fluid are you using ?
Fantastico 👍
Looks like parts of it were chromed anyway but suppose it’s better than it was.

These "restorers" have no real idea.
glad its not mine with a $2 rattle can paint job thats gonna burn off first thing, actually its honestly a horrible job..
A 1958 years old stove? looks more like an old stove from 1958...
This is phony as a 3 dollar bill. Looks like a reproduction of an old stove sprayed with vinegar and left outside for a few months.
You volunteering to be their proof reader.....👎👎👎👎

I don't like this. It is a cleanup and repaint with the wrong paint
Aluminum paint looks cheap.
Stopped to watch when the guy started to PAINT the stove parts instead of proper seasoning them 🤦🏼♀️ Holy crap 💩 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Per me scelta dei colori pessima..
1958 years old...remarkable

why does it have a nuclear radiation warning on it?
Lol
That's for the vent
Nice little polluter. Definitely not Net Zero material!!!!!
The restoration could have been done better and more accurately, but instead it was done hastily
Fake 😅
Those stoves were not very good sources of heat , more heat went up the chimney than into the room
Обратите внимание ни грама копоти, на двери знак радиации, он что на уране работал
