School Prayer Ban Upheld By High Court Ruling | “It’s Not A Targeting Of One Religion”

- A ruling dismissing a Muslim student’s High Court challenge against a ban on prayer rituals at her school is a “victory” for all others, its headteacher has said.
Michaela Community School in Brent, north London, faced legal action from the pupil, who claimed its policy was discriminatory and unlawfully breached her right to religious freedom.
In a judgment on Tuesday, a judge concluded the ban did not interfere with the student’s rights and was “proportionate” amid the school’s aim to promote an ethos of inclusivity and social cohesion.

The mother knew the school policies before she registered her daughter to attend. If she didn’t like the fact that her daughter would not be allowed to pray she should have taken her elsewhere, preferably a country that is compatible with her Muslim beliefs.
👍
Or preferably a country of her beliefs!
Exactly my thoughts !
Jews pray 3 times a day. Muslims pray 5 times a day. Neither can pray at this school. And if that's the rules don't go to this school I guess.
out of the 2 who are the ones trying to change laws/policies to suit them. blame the parents they also knew the policies before she went there, bit still took it up on themselves to take it to court.

Shame you dumb nazis can't focus on real issues facing educational institutions like this
Rape Crisis England and Wales reported that 1 in 6 children have been sexually abused - this includes all situations - meaning the danger that children are in is only increasing. This statistic, paired with the shocking findings of the Everyone’s Invited campaign, that compiled a list of nearly 3000 schools (primary, secondary, college) submitted by past pupils across the UK who had been victims of sexual assault or harassment, is a deeply worrying reality that the school environment isn’t as safe as it seems
The only phobia in this country is anglophobia
Afraid and not wanted is different.
Very true! The hatred towards white Christians in this country is disgusting this is coming from a British Sikh.
What the hell is the blonde woman talking about
Dont know. A classic middle class white women. If the pupil does not agree with the rules go to another school.
Brilliant, now can we ban it in the British workplace, including the mat provided
I’ve heard about it but never seen it. I know Muslims who pray but don’t use a mat and pick the right time to do it 👍
Why bigot ? You can go for a cigarette and toilet , but prayers take five minutes! Bigot
Yep mainly in the NHS
I work at Morrisons. During Ramadan the 'quiet room' is off limits to Kuffar. Jihad in action.
Whats the problem with a five minutes prayer in workplace ?
Nicola is married to a Muslim enough said
Had a prayer room installed at work to accommodate a few Muslims who were given time away from their work to go and pray only to find them in McDonalds instead. Another one was found fast asleep in there. They are laughing their beards off.
A British School is a place of learning, Not praying, if you want to pray Go somewhere else.
It's not discrimination or targeting of one religion, it's ensuring all children are treated the same and no one is given priority over anyone else.
It would be the same if it was a Christian child who wanted to pray to Our Lord five times a day again, it wouldn't be fair on all the other children who would end up being pushed to the side to prioritise the one kid.
All kids have the same importance regardless of religion and no one child, should be prioritised above any of the other kids.
Not freedom of expression isn't it ?? 😅😅😅
Exactly well said first comment. 👏
Aak a Christian if they are welcome in a Muslim country k
go to a muslim country and try and do what they do here, change things to suit themselves, they'll have your head seperated from your shoulders.

Christians and muslims live side by side in Palestine.
Off course they are. Many Christians in egypt. Palestine. Syria . Lebanon. Emirates.
Well done to that teacher
Seriously ...... if this is the level of public debate by those in the media on a subject as important as this, we are well and truly screwed. It wasn't "personal", it was a victory on a basic principle, that you obey the rules of an institution, why is that so hard for some to understand ?
Anyone can pray in their head at any time.

Any religious practises shouldn't be allowed at the schools. Schools are meant for building a good human.
Why ?

Religious practices should take in their churches or mosque or whatever. Schools are there for teaching the lessons

If any parent insists of having a special prayer room for their child to perform religious duty, there is no reason to send their sweet darling to a high performing school for learning, just keep her at home or go to religious school. 🤔

When my daughter was about 5 yr old it was a very cold winters day I put a pair of thick trousers on her for school I was told the trousers had to be removed not school policy for girls but the little Asian girl had her warm trousers on and kept them on because it was her religion to cover her legs so it was 45 years ago this happened “when in Rome you do as the romans do “they should be told .

Rebecca is clueless here - she's making it to be something more than it is - it's not just about 1 pupil, it would be about ALL pupils being (from any faith) having the right to disrupt class throughout the day but decides to ignore the fact. The argument is that 5 minutes is not that much to allow, but if all pupils start doing it it can become chaos - you then have to disrupt to make up for each 5 minutes that any pupil misses in a lesson and don't forget, some Muslims were intimidating other Muslims in the school. Some Muslim are extremely intolerant of others (i.e. non-Muslims) but but they expect nobody to be intolerant them or their faith.
"It's not a targeting of one religion but all religions!!
We CHAVS are afraid of people of faith especially muslims we adults pick on vulnerable kids because we are tough like that & we do not like to be told to wash our bums or hands after going to the loo.

Oh my word. This blond woman really get on my nerves. Yes! "Our way of life" is exactly the right way to put it. Whoever doesn't like it... nobody is forced to live in the UK.
Its not a targeting of one religion, its one religion demanding preferential treatment and being told no for a change.
People are free to pray and attend their place of worship in their own time. Schools don't need religious division.
When l grew up we had 2 religions one C/E the other Catholic , you sent your children to a school of your religion , simple
Being tolerant does not mean being accommodative, you can have your religion and practice in your own time, but we do not need to accommodate your religious needs in everything that we do.
Do bricks count as Islamaphobia?
This is massive win I want my kids at that school
They will throw any accusations and play victim to get what they want - very very common Modus Operandi. And the likes of the blonde character is exactly the reason that these groups have the audacity to impose their values on others. If you don't like the school rules then go where they will allow you to pray 5 or 10 times a day and wear your religous outfits which is part of your identity. I hear Pakistan and the Middle East have great schools.

If you want your religious practices to interrupt your schooling, go to a religious school. That headteacher has effectively banned religious practice inside the school. Her house, her rules. Why go to a school and expext the rules to change for you? Go to a different school.
It was during lunch break. It wasn't interrupting anything
@@user-bo4hw9mo4r irrelevant. The school a duty of care to ensure their children have reasonable breaks too. If the break is filled with prayer, they aren't getting that
@@ErmacFellwalker 5 minute prayer makes the break unreasonable? Your deluded
@@user-bo4hw9mo4r you clearly didn't read what I said, but that doesn't even matter. If the head of the school says religion has no place in the school, then it has no place there.
