If you want a prayer room in the school you are free to attend another school. Same rule goes for the country, if you want sharia you are free to leave the country.

You cannot. Last night on GB News they showed a video of a young Jewish man wearing his scull cap on the streets of London. There was a mass protest going on about the War in Israel - Palestinian supporters. The Young man was told by a Police Office that he was obviously Jewish, he needed to go away from the protesters or he would be arrested! It shows clearly who the police are supporting doesn't it.

My Husband and I switch off when Amy Nickell s a guest on any of the GB News Shows. You are correct, she is the reason the Country is in the mess it is in. She is anti Brexit and would like nothing better than to see us back in the EU. She advocates for free movement of people (open borders for all) yet never mentions the damage mass immigration has done to the very infrastructure of this Country. She has dual National born in the UK, but has American Nationality and is apparently worth around $2,000,000. She has a Son born when she was 24 years old. She attended Leeds University. It makes my blood boil when people such as Amy Nickell have the audacity to talk about open borders when, with their wealth they do not have to live with the consequences of mass immigration.

I've been a teacher for nearly 20 years and although I've seen some interesting and admirable people in our profession, I've never seen an educator who is a true hero on such a large scale as she has become. She is, quite simply, correct in her approach.

My best friend is catholic and her parents sent her to a catholic school because they are a religious family. If this mattered so much then surely the parents should have sent the child to an Islamic school. There are plenty of them in this country.

Don't mean to be rude or anything but this has nothing do with forcing religion on anyone, actually in Islam you're not allowed to force religion onto people. This was more or less about the school taking away the right to pray. Students had previously been allowed to pray in the yard at breaks and lunches but this has been banned by the school. Students praying in a corner of the playground during breaks does not cost the school anything. They have to accommodate anything or give any special priveledges. No one is being forced to accept anything, on the other hand though the school is forcefully stripping the Muslims students a part of their identity. As its a secular school, it's understandable if they don't want to make any accommodations or any expenses for religion such as a prayer room however prayer is a fundamental part of being a Muslim and it is OBLIGATORY for Muslims. No special room is required for prayer, many people are perfectly fine with not having one and are happy to simply pray outside, in some little corner. They are being denied their fundamental right to freedom of religion. Like I said I don't mean anything rude, I just wanted to clear up your misconception
As I also mentioned at the beginning, in Islam everyone has a right to freedom of religion. Whether or not we think your beliefs are wrong, we don't have a right to obstruct you from it. We can advise and debate but not force. In Islam, there is a big emphasis on one's intentions. Even if you were forced into a religion, if your intentions don't align with the religion then it's completely pointless as you don't really believe. So yes I do believe my religion is the correct path for me, you and everyone else on this earth. Would I force you to become a Muslim? No.

@@eventocriativo6761it can be agreed beforehand and is discretionary to each case. as its a pupil v school that wants to set a code of conduct and also through legal aid, it would be different from a normal plaintiff v defendant in a civil case.

Every sympathy to the staff who have experienced serious intimidation. Hopefully each incident has been investigated by the Metropolitan Police... What is surprising is that the case was even allowed to go to court (using tax payer's funds?!) when apparently every pupil/parent/carer is made aware of the school rules when they apply for admission. Which is why id just suggest that family to go to an islamic school. I object to a child being given legal aid for such a case, when British people are can't get legal aid to fight important cases. Also previously, the headmistress shared that there is no room for a prayer room in the school anyway.
I don't think for one moment that child really wanted to pray. Her parents, and the Iman, and the "Community"(MOB),. Wanted to cause trouble, and were willing to use the child to do so. That child will find it difficult to make friends in school because of this behaviour. It's not her fault. The fault lies with the Parents and the Ideology of the 'Mob'.

I think you'd be very surprised. You not being particularly religious as a child or teenager or other people you know not being religious as a child or teenager doesn't mean there aren't children and teenagers who care about their religion. Prayer is an integral part of being a Muslim. It's an obligation for us and even those who aren't that religious know how important prayer is. Perhaps maybe these secondary school kids would just like to fulfil their obligations to God

You teach the facts of all religions to encourage tolerance, in the same way you teach the facts of any other subjects. Ie. The main beliefs, the important prophets, gods etc, the name of places of worship and main religious festivals. However, you are not allowed to indoctrinate promote or share your or any one faith above another whatever it is, with any pupils. Literally the main facts in order that pupils understand the different religions or absence of religion people choose to follow in this country, and understand/respect their choice. However practising their chosen faith in their own time, not at school especially as the majority religion of this country is still Christian and our country was founded on Christian principles.

I would rather pray at home or in a mosque but if I can't then I have to make do with wherever I am. We can't just decide not pray because we aren't at home, no we have to pray no matter what. Islam isnt just a religion but a way of life and it comes before everything else. You're a Muslim before anything else and your Islamic obligations have more precedence over anything else, Prayer being the most important one. You must pray at the specific times no matter where you are

Every parent knows what the rules are when they enroll their child or children at Michaela School. The high academic excellence and success over the years for students speaks volumes that the school administration and staff know what they are doing! If a person doesn't like it then don't send your child there! Those protesters can go and start their own school or send their child to a school affiliated with their religion.

Amy clearly has not bothered to listen to any of the interrviews explaining the space constraints and ethos of the school, and where does she think a 'prayer room' to accommmodate 50% of the pupils who are moslem, and all the other religious observations of every other faith of pupils at the school, to be accommodated?
The school is clear...it does not have prayer facilities, it adhers to a secular format that all pupils can join in with, and there is nothing to stop pupils from praying at home or mosque before or after school hours, just as every other faith can, and does, too.
