I own one of these at the moment, I’ve been using it since December 2018 and it’s still working amazingly. one of the pens ran out around August 2019, and I’m on the second one at the moment. super, SUPER easy to set up, but it’s not very comfortable on your lap because it’s heavy and has a stand. if you’ve got doubts about this then don’t, it’s such a good tablet! I’m so glad I got it!!
@@ottovonweaboo6355 it’s still going strong for me, i’m not entirely sure how it would work for an animation student as due to the screen being so large colouring is really time consuming and takes a lot of arm strength, but you can see so many details at once so that’s a huge bonus. if you’re more suited to big tablets then it’s absolutely wonderful, plus when you’re not using it you can double it up as a monitor for other things (i just use the stand to angle mine completely upright and connect my nintendo switch to it but you could connect it to anything really). so i think it might be a good idea, but i would definitely do some more research if i were you
Hello there! Would you mind giving us a 2 year update? :) how is software and hardware holding? What will you do once your second pen runs out? This would be my first graphic tablet that I am going to receive for new year and I am so happy about it that i could cry.. 😂❤️
I noticed the same thing. It also depends on the program you use. Or the efficiency of the data transfer from the tablet to the computer. The fact that all of it is being put through one usbc port instead of three seperate ports like it was designed could also slow it down
I just purchased mine. They are running a 30% off sale so that makes it $399. That's amazing for what you get. Wish they had a 32" version but this will be good for now.

I have the xp-pen pro for over 1 year I love it but the color is the only downside and getting the film on to protect the glass is a pain so far had to change the film 2 times. I don't know why you said about the nips I still have the one it came with and its over 1 year.
Hello Evan! This was such a great review! I am considering buying this tablet and I'm looking up all the reviews I can find and yours was really helpful! I have only one question regarding the XP-Pen Artist 22E Pro that I haven't seen anyone talking about: does the screen of the tablet gets very hot? I used to work with a display tablet that had this problem so I couldn't really work for long hours because of that, so I wanna make sure I won't have the same problem with this one. Since I haven't seen anyone complain about it I assume it does not have this problem but I thought it would be better to ask it out anyway. Congratulations for the great video and keep it up!
Its been about a month now. How are you still liking it? ANy problems pop up yet? I am currently looking into buying a display tablet and although I know the Wacom Cintiq trumps all, If I can get a cheaper tablet that still gets the job done, I have no problems going with an alternative.
I just discovered this thing and I am losing my mind. Here I was reluctantly ready to buy a large wacom pro tablet with no display .... Ugh .... And then out of clear blue nowhere I discover THIS!!! WHAT IS THIS?!?!? AND AT THE SAME PRICE POINT???? WHAT IS THE CATCH???
The catch is : Wacom's total hegemony allowed them for years to define prices as they saw fit since there was no competition on the market. Today, some brands such as the Chinese Huion or the Japanese XP-Pen are also coming out with top-quality tablets at more honest prices. Competition exists. Wacom will eventually have to lower its prices to avoid losing too much market share.
Very nice and thorough video. I've planning on a new computer and new drawing tablet. Through my research I've found XP-Pen have a high rating. I'm thinking of this or the new XP-Pen art deco coming out in July.
I have the same model it has it's quirks it takes up quite a bit of space but it gets the job done. Great channel I a bit late to the game but I plan to start my journey as well. I hope to get a 10th of your success I would be happy.
Hey Evan, big fan and new subscriber. After watching your video I was convinced to buy this. I couldn’t get it to work on my MAC though. I have a 2016 Mac Pro redina display, 16GB, High leve graphic cards etc. I am also up to date using High Sierra and downloaded their driver for MAC. Through HDMI I am getting No signal displayed on tablet. Through Thunderbolt I get a flickering image and sometimes static. I’m curious what you may have did that I didn’t do. I don’t want to send it back but if I can’t get it to work I may have too.
I have to wonder if the eraser on the end of the stylus has been patented to Wacom or something, I can’t imagine why else it’s taking so long for other brands to emulate it while it remains to be one of the biggest requests amongst users
Only issue I have Adobe and xp do not provide drivers for cs5. Consumers like myself who do not wish to keep paying for subscription based software like my photoshop and full suite.
Also the pro is a battery pen - so no nasty EMF antenna blasting you - my cintiq interacts with my router, it acts as a mast - so i was sat in extreme levels of radiation - even with the router 3m away from tablet
Nice review! Have you experienced any pen "fishhooks" when crosshatching quickly in certain programs? Other reviewers have made note of this in photoshop it seems. Thanks!
Looks like it keeps failing to register light pressure. I see the first few lines fail to appear and you go over it till it registers. Was that annoying? Was it a settings issue, or a is the minimum pressure just more than you'd like. Also, drawing on glass... how is the lack of friction? Do you find it awkward not having that friction and feedback? I imagine it feels quite unnatural not having that texture/friction and could lead to issues with accuracy and control.
Hi there, I'm trying to understand the advantages, similarities or differences between these 2 products: Artist Display 22E Pro vs Artist Display 22 Pro. If you were to recommend one over the other, which would you choose considering they are only about $27 price difference. Are the hot keys a major advantage or time saver?

Hi, cartoonblock! I want buy 22E Pro and connect this display to my work screen 32 2560x1440. If you know, please tell me, how it´s going on to combine 1080 22E Pro with 1440 second screen. Does it work perfectly or bigger screen will loose 1440 quality?
This screen only goes to 1920 x 1080 as the highest resolution. So it won't be as sharp resolution as your 2560x1440. It's a great alternative compared to Cintiq.
@@lmillustrations5404 They support as in, they convert it to 1080p. It will work, but it will still be 1080p. Also for mac - for the pen to work you have to turn on screen mirroring. Which means downgrading your main screen to 1080p. You cannot use your mac on a high resolution and this as a the second screen on extend monitor mode while using the pen. Had to take this back to the store today. :-/
There’s some artists using iPad Pro instead of Wacom now. Have you tried it? If you did, Can you tell me your opinion? I heard that Apple Pencil is really great for line artwork
So is this product primarily used as a secondary monitor to be used with artist suites you have on your computer? Pitty, I was looking for a stand alone device.
Well, as he said, it takes about two hours to charge. But, you get two pens, so you can be using one and the other one can be in the charger. I'm thinking you could go all day long and never have to stop because of a dead pen.
Dear Evan! Before watching your review, I was in doubt between this XP-PEN 22E PRO and the WACON CINTIQ 16; I know that, today, there is still a considerable price difference between the two ($ 420 and $ 649.95), but the 2 are in my budget. After seeing this video, however, it seems that getting XP-PEN is a no-brainer. Do you think that the Cintiq worth the $ 229.95 more, for any reason? I'm planning to aquire one of these 2 to draw and 3d-mold. Oh, and one thing that scared me a little was wear on the tip of the pen got after draw a little ... does this hapens to the wacon pens as well?
All pen nibs wear down over time. Wacom's nibs last longer. Overall, Wacom materials last longer. But if Wacom is too expensive, XP-Pen get's the job done.
I’m a little late, but my boyfriend built his own computer. Would that run this okay? I’m not good with tech but all of his stuff is new and the good stuff.
I'm looking for one that's mobile like. I want one where I can travel with it and not have to pull out a laptop as well just to use it. Any suggestions thanks
Yes, the retinal display on my 15-inch is much sharper than the XP-Pen display. But it's nice to finally draw in the larger 21.5 inch screen, which I can always zoom in.
I'd say they both just about equal. I have the xp-pen artist22e pro, it can fishhook with really fast strokes but you don't get the slight diagonal line distortion on the huion kamvas. They're both brilliant but I'd go with the xp-pen if you have a slower more deliberate style, or with the huion if you're a fast sketcher. The Cineque Pro if you're a millionaire.
Hi Thanks for great video, thinking of getting this tablet. Does Gimp work with this Tablet and would work well with selecting parts of photos to edit etc compared a painful mouse ? Nvere used a tablet but willing to learn as want to use it with editing photos for my lasering. Thanks
Hello! I was wondering if you would always have two screens? Like does my XP artist always need to be connected to my computer for me to be able to draw?
Don't you think the screen is a tad "pixelated/ fuzzy"? And the colors way too dull? And this is not just the protective film to blame. I got one too, i am honestly disappointed in the screen and i just cannot use it for painting for example. Drawing is kinda ok, but the screen fuziness/ pixel is really bad.... Just wondering if i got a bad/ faulty item! I wonder if all drawing tablets are like this.
for the price, this is a decent product (compared to the Cintiq). You definitely notice a difference compared to a Retina display on a Mac. It goes back to what you can afford. But for the price, this is decent.
Since I used to use a mouse I could draw and move my mouse really fast to draw! But with the tablet it moves SO SLOW it's killing me. Is there anyway to raise the sensitivity/speed?
Hi!! I really like your review! Thanks a lot! Is this product comes with software - like Corel or similar? I have the Corel Essentials from my Wacom Intuos. Is it possible to use this software/ license on this Xpen, if I achieve it? Best regards.
I know this probably is a stupid question, but do you need to use the pen to do everything? Say, could I switch back into my home screen and use my finger and tap on icons, scroll, etc? Thanks in advance.
Alright I got a question, it says that the pen pressure is 8192 but I saw someone who sells this tablet and put a picture of the packing in where it says that the pen pressure is actually 2048...so what is it now? Does yours ( the packaging ) say the same?

After seeing this video, however, it seems that getting XP-PEN is a no-brainer. Do you think that the Cintiq worth the $ 229.95 more, for any reason? I'm planning to aquire one of these 2 to draw and 3d-mold. Oh, and one thing that scared me a little was wear on the tip of the pen got after draw a little ... does this hapens to the wacon pens as well?
All pen nibs wear down over time. Wacom's nibs last longer. Overall, Wacom materials last longer. But if Wacom is too expensive, XP-Pen get's the job done.
And whats the difference of 22 and 22E ?
I guess There is a bit of lag in the strokes...otherwise its seems good
I’m a little late, but my boyfriend built his own computer. Would that run this okay? I’m not good with tech but all of his stuff is new and the good stuff.
Yes. This device is simply a monitor that you attach to your desktop or laptop
I'm looking for one that's mobile like. I want one where I can travel with it and not have to pull out a laptop as well just to use it. Any suggestions thanks
Did u find any suggestions
How did you find working on an HD screen, presumably you've been painting on the Macbooks retina screen previously which is so much sharper?
Yes, the retinal display on my 15-inch is much sharper than the XP-Pen display. But it's nice to finally draw in the larger 21.5 inch screen, which I can always zoom in.
is there a button that can be programmed to let you rotate the brush incrementally?
Does it have a matte screen? I am tired of buying tablets that don't got that paper feel like texture, and glass instead
Does it need a computers plugged in to work?
which is better of the 2 please would you say? xp-pen artist22e pro drawing tablet versus huion kamvas gt-221 pro
Hi which of the xp pen 22/e pro and huion kamvas pro 22 has a better screen resolution?
Ya후Ya후 they’re both the same. On amazon, they show u. The difference is that one has buttons and the other dissent
I want to see your drawings man❤️
More time lapses would be cool
@@swiss_thony I'll keep that in mind. Thx
Hi Thanks for great video, thinking of getting this tablet. Does Gimp work with this Tablet and would work well with selecting parts of photos to edit etc compared a painful mouse ? Nvere used a tablet but willing to learn as want to use it with editing photos for my lasering. Thanks
Is it normal that its display is kinda dim or dark?
Hello! I was wondering if you would always have two screens? Like does my XP artist always need to be connected to my computer for me to be able to draw?
Kiwi Tree yes
So you need a 3k£ laptop to use the artist 22E Pro?
Looks cool!!!!
THanks
Thank youuu
is this better than the cintiq or no?
Does it work with Autodesk Sketchbook on Mac?
it is very good drawing. Keep connected friend.
Comment again.
Your main device (laptop or computer) likely dosent have power, ram or something
can it be used as a multitouch ?
Can photoshop (where you can draw) be on a HP Stream 14-inch Laptop?
Yes, you attach the XP-Pen to laptop or desktop computer
So do u still need an additional computer to use the tablet??
What si the graduation of the yellow pencil that yo use in your sketches
8:40 seems you are making motions and nothing is happening
Hold on.. but what about resting your palm? my arm would ache like hell holding it up.. unless u can rest it on the screen?
There's a glove that comes with it which allows you to rest your hands on the display.
Can i wear the slippy glove on left hand?
you can wear it on both :))
WELCOME
Is that a slight delay or my imagination?
Hi!! I really like your review! Thanks a lot! Is this product comes with software - like Corel or similar? I have the Corel Essentials from my Wacom Intuos. Is it possible to use this software/ license on this Xpen, if I achieve it? Best regards.
This is strictly a monitor that you hook up to a computer. It doesn't have software
@@cartoonblock Thanks for your answer. Between ArtRage5 and openCanvas7, wich one do you think it's better?
I know this probably is a stupid question, but do you need to use the pen to do everything? Say, could I switch back into my home screen and use my finger and tap on icons, scroll, etc? Thanks in advance.
the display does not have "touch" feature. you need the stylus to move things around on the screen
Alright I got a question, it says that the pen pressure is 8192 but I saw someone who sells this tablet and put a picture of the packing in where it says that the pen pressure is actually 2048...so what is it now?
Does yours ( the packaging ) say the same?
The new 22E Pro model is definitely 8192 levels of pressure (uses their new P02S stylus)
Have you bought that tablet or got free from xp pen?
