You are my absolute favourite tech reviewer Lisa, you never miss a beat and give super useful information on the products I've seen so far. Much love from an industry artist xx
This is one of the best reviews ive seen of anything on youtube. Answered all questions and was thorough. Great work. Im Defo going to get this soon too, thanks to you Lisa :)
Shahab Eslamian I like it a lot, I only wish it was touchscreen like my iPad. I find my self humorously trying to control screen with my fingers. But that would make it way more $
You are a very tech savy woman who knows how to review! I really appreciate that. The review felt honest and very thorough. You have a great vibe and personality during the review. The review itself had me interested even outside of my needs as an artist. Thanks!
I have only bought wacom products for over 13 years, I have a 13HD which I use for storyboarding and have always wanted to buy a Cintiq 22hd or better, but the price always drew me away especially since I can easily just draw on paper and paint on illustration board. But I saw this Display tablet on Amazon and figured what the heck, its only 500. I have been using it for a month now and I absolutely love it. a little bit of parallax but for fine drawing, I always have my Cintiq. It's perfect for finishing up work. The only real drawback is that I cannot install any of the Wacom Drivers to my main setup. I've had to adjust my work station so I can have the Cintiq hooked up to my MacBook Pro. Otherwise its a great product and exceeded my expectations especially for 500 bucks.
It's a great tablet. I love drawing on it. I has an opportunity to draw on the larger iPads and the tooth this provided makes you really appreciate that you aren't drawing on straight glass. My only problem is that my AW R4 17 display is just too different than my xp-pen. I tried to get the colors to match but the most I can get is a very washed out muted version on the colors. Such a bummer...
I'm definitely getting this - it's quality from the other reviews I've seen kind of took me by surprise, and this has more or less cinched it. This with a vesa mount would be an absolute dream, as a budding artist.
omg thank you finally a review that goes in depth on color with the 22 pro. I'm debating getting this or financing a wacom....I'd rather buy this since I'm use to the 15.6 XP pen display
I had the Cinitq Pro 24'' For anyone who's wondering tthey are not so great as many think, not for the price. This XP Pen offering might be a better deal.
@@雷禾鈞 That is a giant ripoff. You can get a monitor twice that size that is better in every way for that money. A standard 23" monitor like that should be under 100 bucks.
I went to new york last year and I bought a 22" cintiq uhd from wacom at B&H for 2500 usd and its super worth it. The size isnt the issue.. I actually prefer smaller size tablets due to its so tiring to work on a huge tablet for eight hours straight. I bought the cintiq for my illustration and matte painting work but I still bought a bamboo tablet the smallest one with wireless kit for UI UX design. The thing you guys need to consider is brightness, accuracy on colour with your main screen. Wacom is really good in replicating macbook pro colors in their tablets. You dont need the 4k pressure sensitivity. My problem with the cintiq is it gets hot on long working operations. That's why i always have a back up tablet which is the great bamboo tablet. When she peeled the screen from XP Pen, thats actually a good color replication from the original screen. GJ! The new wacom cintiq like the one i have is always matte and you cant peel it off compared to the previous gen models. I really hate it. Another thing you guys need to look a is connectivity. The cintiq has USB C so there's no delay when drawing. If youre a professional you tend to really work so much faster than the machine and if your mac and tablet cant keep up with you, it will affect your work flow.
I'm trying to decide between the Huion Kamvas Pro 22 and the XP Pen Artist 22E. Does anyone have any arguments for or against one or the other. Lisa gave some good points for the XPPen but I'd like to hear some other opinions, since 300 bucks is quite a lot. Great Review by the way
thanks, this answered a whole lot of questions I had about that product, that other reviews didn't answer. Like explaining that 4K thing and going into detail about the display properties. I'd like twice if I could.
I started watching your channel about 6 months ago. Let me tell you - I love your content. Way way way good stuff. Subbed today. Look forward to more. Oh, and by the way your reviews on the Huion and the XP helped me make up my mind. Right now the Huion is also cheaper than the XP on Amazon by thirty bucks.
So I ordered Artist 22E Pro and Huion Kamvas Pro 22 from Amazon to compare which tablet has better feature and value for the price. At the end I returned my Kamvas Pro 22 and sticked with 22E Pro Areas where Huion is better: 1. Smoother pen travel due to the screen build (XP Pen is also smooth but Huion is smoother by a margin which makes Huion have more premium screen) 2. “Bigger” which makes it feel that you’re working on a bigger space(but really it just came down to its smaller bezel) 3. Non-rechargeable pen so no worries about the battery getting old and then die. Why I still chose Artist 22E Pro. 1. Still has a smooth and matte screen like Huion (the difference is very small) 2. All 16 Press Keys are customisable against Huion which has 20 but can only customise 10. 3. Cheaper but has the same screen resolution for Huion which cost £100 more 4. Good resolution( similar as Huion-just adjust the brightness and contrast/RGB and you’ll be fine) THE ONLY CON I CAN SAY ABOUT IT IS THAT THE WORRIES ON THE RISK OF THE STYLUS PEN BATTERY GETTING WEAKER AND THEN DIE.
Is it just me or does the colours in the Huion tablet at 12:28 look really bad compared to the XP-Pen? It's like the colours are very dull? Why is this? Is it because of Huions laminated screen?
Been wanting one of these for years. Still on traditional pen, pencil, paper but would like to delve into learning how to color digitally besides using a plain mouse and a super steady hand. One day I hope.
Hi, thanks for the great review, I wanted to ask if you had screen scratch issued when using it without the cover, in my case i do and I'm worried about them increasing. Thx
Oh wow you're left handed! Just like me, that's great! Question.. do the buttons on the side get in the way of drawing for you? That's my main concern with the XP-PEN Artist22E. Thank you!
Great review. Hopefully you will review the new Huion 22 with EMR pen (no charging). There's another manufacturer in this market called Parblo that seems to offer good products. I'm content with my Huion Kamvas GT-191. Sure it's no Wacom, but you don't hear me complain about a 19.5'' screen with 8196 levels of pressure pen for just under $400. For the price it's an amazing pen display.
Absolutely amazing! Love your videos! Can we have a top 10 devices to edit pictures on? I'm contemplating buying different tablets or laptops for editing pictures on the go, and I'm waiting on you for a video to buy!
The XP Pen 22r pro begins delivery mid December and subtotal is $489 said to be on pre-sale sale, otherwise apparently sold for $699, and I can work with $489ish+ BUT I've only seen one review so far on youtube and the TWO reviews on their official site aren't enough to go off of (they critique issues I may not mind or experience). I bought a used UGEE 1910b off Ebay a year ago and cant seem to get the software to recognize the tablet. As an extra monitor its fine. Ugee's website says the unit will run on Windows 10 so I don't know if it is the unit or the software. How was the software to install and how did it work. I am not an artist but would be using it to make tracings and such for t-shirts and airbrush stencils to cut out on either a vinyl cutter or a laser. The other problem I have is when I uninstalled the software it left some on the computer it took me forever to find out so I could delete it. I hope I got it all. I don't know if that is a windows thing or not. I might go back to my Mac Intel Pro.
Hi Lisa, do you like this or the Huion 22 Pro better? And are either better than the Wacom Cintiq 22hd? I'm seeing them for comparable prices used now. Thanks
If you had to choose between wacom cintiq DTK- 1660 graphics tablet and this , which one would you go for? please. I need to choose and don't know enough about them. Thanks
Hello! This is my favorite review on the specs! I was wondering what 77% colour gamut meant but it's Adobe RGB I see, so this would be about 110% sRGB I think. I always though this would be better than the Cintiq 24HD but I see the drawbacks now in terms of the screen and white point etc. It's such an informative review, thanks a lot! Could you do a review for the Huion Kamvas Gt-191 V2 and Pro 22 as well? I would appreciate that very much~

Also is there very big difference between wacom 13hd ? I ask because all ppl says choose wacom.Thank you.
Hi, Does it actually have pressure sensitivity in Adobe Illustrator? It seems they had some issues with that in the past as XP-PEN answered at Amazon on March 7, 2017: "Hi, this tablet does not has pressure sensitivity on Illustrator now. We are trying to solve this problem." Did they fix that? Thanks!
7:20 thank you soooo much for explaining that simple little way to adjust the stand. I just got mine today and I couldn't figure it out and the xp-pen site and manual didn't say😂
Hey Lisa! I had a question. I have the 13.3inch spectre x360 and I use the HP Pen A LOT! I wanted to invest in a better writing experience on the device. 1) Should I get the HP Tilt Pen? Will it improve my experience? 2) Should I get any other pen like the surface pen? PS: I use Drawboard PDF
Hello, Did you just connect to windows via USB and hdmi or did you use the other cables? I just recently got this and am running into the issue where when using the pen, there are two areas on the right side of the monitor that it jumps across. I've done all things driver wise, display setting wise that I could think of. It works with the mouse. Just not the pen in those areas.
USB and HDMI- that's it for connections. Sounds like you might have a defective unit. You could check the display mapping under Pen Tablet settings to make sure it's set to cover the entire pen display.
XP Pen Artist 22E Pro Pen Monitor Display vs Huion Kamvas GT-221 Pro. Please, I need reasons why one is the better bargain in quality and price. i am buying a new tablet soon
Taylor63 wouldn’t recommend doing it, it helps protect from radiation and the protector will make it feel more natural in comparison to the pen always moving around on the glass
So usually I have an oldish monitor attached to my laptop (which I take back and forth to class) and I usually just plug in one of those cheapish drawing tablets that don't have a screen. But recently my monitor just stopped working entirely. My dilemma is do I buy a really nice monitor and just keep plugging in my cheapish drawing tablet. Or do I buy one of these and use that as my monitor as well as a drawing tablet?
@@mobiletechreview :) yeah that's why ive avioded those screen tablets for so long because I know once I make the switch im never going back. And for the longest time my bank account wouldn't apprechiate it. But now they are starting to become somewhat resonable. ❤
hello if you had to choose between all the tablets with screen which would you choose between xp-pen, gaomon, huinion and other brands? (not wacom obviously being too expensive) in short, what would be your favorite? even considering I'm a photographer I'm looking for a better quality screen and very accurate color matching
For the price, you're never going to get super accurate colors on any of the Wacom alternatives (even with Wacom themselves, the last generation Cintiqs I've used have poorly calibrated colors just so they can get you to buy their color calibrator lol), always have a second, more color-accurate monitor ready when you're using any matte screen tablet (a BenQ for designers will do the job). But out of Huion and XP-Pen (don't know much about Gaomon or Ugee), XP-Pen (without the applied screen protectors) seems to have better color calibration out of the box.
thank you.!!! so ultimately xp-pen 15.6 or 16 pro could be a good compromise ? do you think the xp-pen is better than the others? In short, if you had to buy just one on which brand would you be oriented?
Overall I'm a bit more of a XP-Pen fan than the others, but only for very minor reasons. if you want a better screen experience out of the box, totally get them over the competition, but even if you choose, say, Huion over them, you're still getting a good product for the money, the differences are very minimal.
I got this tablet because of this video and after a week of using it the input on the hotkeys keep getting stuck regardless of the program I'm using. Especially if I press the keys quickly they seem to lag and get stuck. Talking with customer support now but it is quite a pain. Kinda disappointed so far.
Damn good reviews Lisa. I've been watching these vids for 2 years and I don't even plan on buying this stuff
Her videos are just plain good.

Nope. Skill comes from the artist. It doesn't matter what you use.

Is it really worth to go up in size at the expense of the resolution and sharpness of the screen?

So usually I have an oldish monitor attached to my laptop (which I take back and forth to class) and I usually just plug in one of those cheapish drawing tablets that don't have a screen. But recently my monitor just stopped working entirely. My dilemma is do I buy a really nice monitor and just keep plugging in my cheapish drawing tablet. Or do I buy one of these and use that as my monitor as well as a drawing tablet?
Once you draw directly on the screen, you'll wonder how you lived with a USB tablet. At least, that's how I feel :)
@@mobiletechreview :) yeah that's why ive avioded those screen tablets for so long because I know once I make the switch im never going back. And for the longest time my bank account wouldn't apprechiate it. But now they are starting to become somewhat resonable. ❤
how many hours does it take for the pen to charge? also thank you for the review I'm going to buy it soon uwu
Do I need a monitor to use this? Can this be powered on by itself? If not, I have a laptop with only 2 usb ports. No HDMI but will it still work?
yes
hello if you had to choose between all the tablets with screen which would you choose between xp-pen, gaomon, huinion and other brands? (not wacom obviously being too expensive) in short, what would be your favorite?
even considering I'm a photographer I'm looking for a better quality screen and very accurate color matching
For the price, you're never going to get super accurate colors on any of the Wacom alternatives (even with Wacom themselves, the last generation Cintiqs I've used have poorly calibrated colors just so they can get you to buy their color calibrator lol), always have a second, more color-accurate monitor ready when you're using any matte screen tablet (a BenQ for designers will do the job). But out of Huion and XP-Pen (don't know much about Gaomon or Ugee), XP-Pen (without the applied screen protectors) seems to have better color calibration out of the box.
thank you.!!! so ultimately xp-pen 15.6 or 16 pro could be a good compromise
? do you think the xp-pen is better than the others? In short, if you had to buy just one on which brand would you be oriented?
Overall I'm a bit more of a XP-Pen fan than the others, but only for very minor reasons. if you want a better screen experience out of the box, totally get them over the competition, but even if you choose, say, Huion over them, you're still getting a good product for the money, the differences are very minimal.
@@chcomfygaming5906 thanks a lot.
Hi it is not a matte screen? why in some footage you are made the screen looks very reflective??? O.o
Yes it can be matte,There's a matte cover on the tablet that is removable, she toke it off to show the screen without the cover ☺️
Does Toonboom work well on this tablet
Can you connect it with an Android
why won't the stylus work?
hey, can it connect to ps4?
I REALLY like your reviews. I'm always like, yeah but what about this..... And then you answer lol. Thorough!
a lenovo ideapad 720s 15ikb with gtx 1050ti review would be very cool!!
Does it need a computer to work?
I got this tablet because of this video and after a week of using it the input on the hotkeys keep getting stuck regardless of the program I'm using.
Especially if I press the keys quickly they seem to lag and get stuck.
Talking with customer support now but it is quite a pain. Kinda disappointed so far.
