There's a few things to remember about the cookies, the price is higher then regular cookies because they're for a fund raiser. They will only be on sale for a few weeks each year in your area. They freeze very well, and the Samaos with coconut are my crack.
Thin mints are the best. When I met my husband in 2001 he was stationed in NC about 4 hrs from where I lived. He is from TX and all his family still lives here. His sister was in girl scouts at the time and was selling girl scout cookies. He bought a case of girl scout cookies and had them sent to the barracks where all the Marines he worked with wanted some.
Boiling the spaghetti was funny. I used to always break it in half when my children were young and I just continued doing it. One time my adult son was visiting and the scene was exactly. I went to break it on top of the boiling water, and my son jumped up to stop me. 😅😅😅
I am glad you are enjoying the USA. I enjoy seeing people come to the USA and seeing it in person instead of the movie stereotype. You picked one of the best places in the US to settle into!
Linguine is flat pasta. Spaghetti is cylindrical. Also, you need a larger pot with higher sides, or else the pasta won't cook properly. Barilla is a good brand or DeCecco or homemade/fresh pasta is another option.
Samoas are the best Girl Scout cookies. Chocolate, coconut, caramel, on a cookie. Perfection. And I'm not even Italian, but seeing that spaghetti about to be broken in half...I felt my heart jump into my chest lol.
One of the unique aspects of Houston is that it doesn't have zoning laws like many American cities. It is controversial to some people but I think it is good.
Mikey, been a follower since before you & Tasha’s US arrival. You both are a sweet couple. Know you tend to lean conservative. American progressive here. No matter the politics, we are all one. BEST! 🇺🇸🇬🇧
I love watching you and Tashas interactions! You are just so cute!! I'm glad you are home. For future reference the GS cookies also have a cookie called "Samoas" It may have a different name now but those and thin mints are our favorites.
Oh Tasha you were doing so well.😂😂Not tea, either hot chocolate or nibble around the edges and dunk in regular cold milk Thin mints are also good frozen and smashed up added to vanilla and chocolate ice cream..Mikey you saved countless Italian heart attacks.Tasha use a bigger pan for the pasta.
You guys had best be careful with the snack food. Taste great, and then it pops out all over the place. Muffin top, jumbo jowls, and thighs that don't stuff into your jeans any more
Anyone who knows chocolate would not select Hershey's. The problem with Hershey's is that over the decades, they started adding more sugar and less chocolate in their chocolate bars. They got lazy and greedy, and produced a poor quality of chocolate. I think more people would buy it if they improved the quality. Unfortunately, the brand is bigger than the quality. When people want to make snacks like "S'mores", they believe that they are obligated to use Hershey bars in the recipe, when using a good quality of chocolate is the way to go.
My Mom always broke the spaghetti. I was living on my own before I could enjoy it the way it should be enjoyed. Spaghetti breakers are a curse (sorry Mom, wherever you are--still loved ya).
Further if you want to be a classic American gentleman you will make a point of holding the door for your wife at every opportunity including car doors

It's such a pleasure to have Tasha teaching our kids!
Bless her heart🙏❤
We don't split spaghetti in Italian families. We also put salt in the water.
I’m originally from Brenham but I talked to my brother( in La Grange) yesterday and he told me more rain was coming over there.
Thin Mints and the Shortbread cookies are my favorites. The regular peanut butter cookies are good too.

I'm not Italian and I was disturbed by that...
Houston is one of the most humid places in America.
I love the peanut butter ones and ice cold milk! eat 2 pkgs at one sitting!
the thin mint cookies are even better cold, frozen or refrigerated, or even paired with ice cream
I am glad you are enjoying the USA. I enjoy seeing people come to the USA and seeing it in person instead of the movie stereotype. You picked one of the best places in the US to settle into!
The Girl Scouts now have you! Try crumbling up a cookie over ice cream.
I usually buy 2 boxes of thin mints. One box for me and the other for my family. Thin mints are my favorite. Lol
Tasha my son plays the same instruments as you.
You can now go to Hershey Pennsylvania and tour the Hershey factory and they have a theme park.
And their chocolate is nasty.
Definitely freeze those thin mints - it makes them so crispy!🤠
Peanut Butter Patties are my favorite...
This is our rainy season. Come May we are lucky to get 3 inches in 6 months
I can hear my Italian mother now: "Madonna! Never break the spaghetti! Whatsa matter, you?!"
Remember, only get once a year, so buy lots
You brought THE BEST ONES!❤❤❤❤❤ I live for Thin Mints!
You can find After 8 mints at World Markets in Houston

I break spaghetti. My pot is the same size. I just believe it's easier to eat without sauce whipping off the spaghetti while I am eating it.
Andes mints are the American counter part to After Eight mints you have in the UK.
Girl Scout cookies 😂 😂 😂
Commenting just to say you never break the spaghetti 😂
I have been married to 2 different women with Italian heritage. 1 would never break the spaghetti and the other always breaks the spaghetti
Tasha, hot cocoa!! no tea girl!
I like to put them in the freezer first!!! Then dip them in a cup of milk!!! 😆 🤣 😂
AFAIK there's no Italian blood in my veins, but I almost jumped into my monitor to save that spaghetti 🍝
Next time:
Tagalongs- very good. Coconut, caramel cookies.
I love my thin mints cold.
What's with the black spot?

Hey Bruce, thank you so much! I definitely agree with you!!
In America, cookies would go with milk, we would never use tea
But some do drink coffee with them. 🤷♀️ they do tea in the UK so that makes sense.
@@libertybell8852 yeah, the UK are tealcoholic
This channel came up while I was channel surfing. Welcome to America!🇺🇸 from Nashville, Tennessee

The Walmart brand of mint chocolate cookies are good too, for when THIN Mints aren't available.
BTW, Greek Houstonian here, too.
Tasha I break my spaghetti too so all of it gets in the boiling water at the same time. Lol
Somoas are the best!! Lol
Mike, there is a Greek flag next to you as you were sampling the Girl Scout cookies. Do you have Greek ancestry?
Yeah I’m of Greek Cypriot descent 👍🏼
@@MikeysAmericanDream Cool, my grandfather immigrated from Greece 120 years ago.
Freeaze the thin mints their even better
Tasha was a blasphemer trying to snap that spaghetti in half!!! I just about hit the floor when I saw that!!! Lol

Thankfully we don’t really snack. I think we’re just enjoying trying some new things we’ve never seen before
Samoas are the best girl scouts cookies
Freeze your thin mints

Doesn't Tasha own a "brelly"?
The Thin Mints are far and away the best Girl Scout Cookies. You lucked out if you got those by chance.
My Mom always broke the spaghetti. I was living on my own before I could enjoy it the way it should be enjoyed. Spaghetti breakers are a curse (sorry Mom, wherever you are--still loved ya).
It’s bad luck to break any noodle. Even while eating it.
Dude… you pick your wife up at the door… YOU DO NOT MAKE HER WALK IN THE RAIN.
I thought you were a gentleman
Yeah I ended up going to the front obviously once she got to the front
I snap my spaghetti in half too.
Too bad girl scout cookies aren't as good as they used to be.
Further if you want to be a classic American gentleman you will make a point of holding the door for your wife at every opportunity including car doors
Tasha you can break that spaghetti!! You are in the land of the Free. Remember Italy was a fascist country at one time!!
Tasha...I expect better from you! Never break the spaghetti!!
I always break the spaghetti….🤣🤣🤣
