I just love how when you say beginner, it's really beginner lol. These workouts are perfect for beginners and people with issues they have to consider but still want a good workout. Thanks Amy!!💪🏽🙏🏽❤
As someone that is overweight and trying my best to learn more about my health and get back to a level of fitness that I use to have- this video was amazing and encouraging! It felt good to be able to complete a workout again and you are such a pleasure to watch! subbed!
Finally! Straight to the point without all the “chatter” . And what a pleasure to watch. You’re an friendly ego-free instructor- Thank you for a great great video
These are all compliments. A large number of UA-cam fitness people are not relatable to the average person. Your down to earth personality and clear instruction are much appreciated.
I’m a person that hates the gym. I’ve been lost doing random exercises for years. I did this exercise and it was PERFECT for me! Slow and steady. I did 4 sets of each exercise and boy did I feel it the next day! Thank you again!
Oh my days. You are seriously amazing. Please don't ever take down this video. It's honestly the best work out video I've seen for beginners. Thank you so much.
I turn 53 tomorrow and am in the worst shape of my life. I used to be shredded in my 30s and early 40s, however hormonal imbalances that were diagnosed at 46 (Hashimoto's, which I now believe was driven by fluctuating sex hormones and chronic severe stress fue to unresolved childhood trauma and intense work stress) contributed to gluten and casein intolerance, exercise intolerance, depression-like low mood and 30-pound weight gain. I am committed to taking bank my health with Jesus Christ staying today. It was humbling to start from square one with a beginner workout like this but empowering that I could do the entire workout and feel good and energized afterwards instead of being couch-ridden for 2 days afterwards. The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step - and completing this workout just now was that single step. Here we go. I'm here for it. With Christ by my side, I am never alone and I'm not alone in this journey to restore my body which is a container for Holy Spirit. Let's go❤
Hello! I hope that you have continued to use these workouts and are feeling better. I also have Hashimoto hypothyroidism. I was extremely sick.for 2 years. Healing leaky gut etc. Fast forward, 8.6 years later and my antibodies just came back less than 1! No autoimmune detected! I am currently separated from my husband which I have endured much less extreme stress on a daily basis. This hasn't happened overnight of course. I am sending you love and positive energy! I also have been in therapy. Working on childhood trauma and molestation. Much love friend❤ and I am 57
I love this! Thanks Amy! I couldn't afford the gym membership, my son got dumbbells for Christmas, so I've borrowed them and you're helping me learn! Determined to rediscover my fitness!
After battling depression, GAD and an ED for the past 5 years I really want to get back to being healthy. I lost a lot of weight and muscle so even the easiest exercises are a challenge. I really appreciate these videos for beginners, thank you!
I hated exercises for years and years because i pushed myself too much and got super super worn out and couldn't find peace with it. UNTIL I SAW THIS AND I COULD ACTUALLY BREATHE WHILE I WORKED OUT??? I get out of breath so quickly but this made me feel peaceful. THANK YOU I HOPE I ACHIEVE MY GOAL
Thank you Amy! As a 66 YO just starting out with strength training, I appreciate you and your easy to follow routine! Please keep up the great work! You are much appreciated!
Thank you for just giving straight instructions, no marketing bs or this social media blabbering. Just straight to the point, solid workout and it looks manageable.
This is by far the best beginner dumbbell video I’ve found so far on UA-cam! Thank you - the tip to only use one dumbbell instead of two when doing the over the head arm exercises was so helpful for me, and I think that way I will be able to gradually work my way up to using two ☺️
I love ALL of Amy’s workouts!!Finally an instructor who gets straight into it & doesn’t spend half the video talking about what their going to do. I do about 3 of her workouts a week & always such good variety - I never get bored.
Thank you… I’ve been sick for 2 years and just now starting to exercise… my nervous system is all out of wack. This was a little hard for me but I just went slow. I’m going to do a little each day and hope I start feeling better soon! Thank you for making beginning workouts. Greatly appreciated.
Today was my first day working out in almost a year. I love that this is a beginner workout that is actually for BEGINNERS. Thank you! I definitely subscribed!
Perfect beginner workout, it was my first day I started training after few years. I am 8 months postpartum and wanted a beginner workout to incorporate in my routine. It was perfect. I loved it.
Thank you for this workout, Amy. I'm so out of shape and dealing with some chronic muscle tightness/injuries. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video! I have dealt with injuries to my knee and back that make doing workouts normally difficult and sometimes bring pain. Doing this video for a while and I love all your options and suggestions for doing it without pain. I am finally getting stronger, thank you!
No idea if you still see comments, as this was over 2 years ago, but I just have to say this was amazing. I have been hitting the gym for about 4 months on the regular. Figured I was getting good at it. Had cut a mile run on treadmill down to 12 mins from the previous 28 mins, and was good. I had been pretty sick the first 2 weeks of the year and had been feeling better and decided to try this out. Man...it rocked me. Now I did more reps then what you were showing, but my thighs, back and ass were sore all day from this. LOL. I mean a good sore too. I have this bookmarked and will probably get into it at least twice a week when I wake up. I am sure I will memorize it quickly, but still nice to have some guidence of what to look for and all. Thank you for doing this. Many of the other videos around here claim to be "beginner" but have to you doing pushups into side dumbbell lifts. Always felt more advanced for someone starting out.
As someone with debilitating fibromyalgia it has been tough to exercise. Walking doesn't seem to do the trick. Tried this workout and was able to get through the entire exercise as demonstrated without real difficulty. I am a 70 y.o. woman who has put on the pounds over the past 10 years and has struggled to diet it off pluse living a rather sendentary life. I've been thinking about trying weight training but could not get motivated as I didn't have the stamina; but, this video gives me hope and is something I can follow easily. Thank you so much Amy, and again as others pleaded, DON"T take it down!!!
I'm young and have multiple chronic illnesses that make working out hard. I adore all of your modifications for different levels. It was challenging yet appropriate for beginners. I'm hoping to restore and repair muscle wasting through nutrition as I heal and your videos. Thank you!! You're a great teacher.
I started to work out yesterday after 3 years and 40 pounds later and let me just say thank you thank you thank you for being so amazing, much much love!
Thank you sooooo very much Amy! I did your entire workout and feel great! I'll be back each day for more. I've tried so many that were just too strenuous and quit bcz I couldn't keep up and felt like a failure and hopeless. YOU HAVE ME CONFIDENCE, TY!!!!
I haven’t worked out in 1.5-2 years and really wanted to get back into the routine with weights, but I know I won’t be able to do much. I appreciate how this is truly suitable for beginners - manageable yet gives you that little push that you need while offering modifications to suit different beginner levels. Definitely sticking to this for a week or two before working my way up to more challenging routines. Thank you!
I am starting from scratch in terms of exercising..this was a great introduction. I’ve often felt very intimidated by workout videos but this video was a great start to my workout journey.
I just did it.. This is my first -startover- time.. I hope i will get a good work out times again.. I gained so much weight after married n living in a new city.. 🤧
You are such a great instructor!! All your exercises are all very well explained and thought through!! I never fell confused whether I did the excercises ok. I really love your perspicious work outs for beginners (50+) like me!
I loved this! Going to the gym gives me anxiety so I'm very out of shape but I got myself some home weights for Christmas and what I needed was something actually do-able and low impact and I found it!
This is great. I'm living abroad and gained weight from breaking my foot and injuring my back in a serious motorbike accident. I used to be in great shape before this. Now I'm recovered and starting over..Thanks for this video!! I'm getting stronger again!!🙏❤
Hi Amy, A friend of mine has shown me your channel. She has been working out with you (via your lovely channel) for over a year and I have seen an amazing amazing change in her. She has become body fit!! Not a joke ❤ She inspires me and I have started to do my daily workouts too now with your videos…. Keep up the good work. Thank you so much…you are helping a lot of us women out there. Your workouts are real! Not to crazy not over the top. It’s just perfect.🎉
Just love your videos, especially all the options. most in person classes that I’ve gone to are focused towards young people or people who have worked out for a long time. I appreciate all your options.
New to UA-cam videos since the gyms closed and Amy is deifnalty my favourite. She is fab! I have subscribed. I've watched loads of different people but I choose Amy 😁
Amy thanks for this amazing workout guide. As a beginner i couldn't have asked for anything better. I've been following this for about 1p days now, feel much fitter than I was before! Cheers
I have previously had an exercise addiction and eating disorder. Because of this, I’ve been away from working out for 3 years. I’m slowly trying to figure out how to exercise without hating myself. This video is so nice, I will be watching your videos more often.
@@kat251 hi! So for me, I had to go to rehab and quit exercise for about 3 years. It was so hard to quit since it was definitely a coping mechanism but it was totally critical for my recovery. I have been in therapy since then and only last year did my therapist say I could get back into “movement.” I’m not fully recovered (are we ever?) but I have a job, got married and am very happy. Now exercise serves a different purpose for me. It shows me how capable and strong my body is! Because it’s no longer my only coping mechanism, I feel like I can do it healthfully :)
I love your workouts Amy! I like working on strength without all the jumping now that I’m 58. I also like that you take your time and explain how to do the exercises with correct form.
agreeing with many below...near impossible to find a TRUE BEGINNER db wrkt, that even includes simple modifications! From all of the females in their 50's hormonal flux, desperately looking for strength training that doesn't compound joint/sport injuries....a BIG TY!!
So busy with Christmas ! So I did this and now doing your 10 min hit with dumbells. Good sometimes to have shorter workouts because I don't feel guilty I had to pass completely. Love your workouts Amy!!! More more more please!!!!!!
As I’m trying to recover and rehabilitate from midfoot sprain, knee injury and arthritis on my right shoulder this is by far a fantastic workout. Thank you!
I love this beginner course because I'm currently overweight also and this exercise routine was amazing. I didn't give up I followed you every step of the way. I will stay consistent with this exercise routine. God bless you and all you beautiful ladies. I'm happy for all of us. ❤
Amy!!!! Thank you! Finally, a simple but concise workout and supporting coach without all the crazy, silly cheerleader style coaching. You are my new go-to workout buddy. Thanks! Alicia
God bless you Amy for this workout! I have fibromyalgia plus Chronic fatigue and I simply cannot do those fast switches, jerky jumpy workouts without crashing the next day. This is gentle but still challenging enough to be effective without being boring! Sometimes I can't get to the end, and some weeks I just can't do anything but I always come back to this one. It helps and I see changes in my strength and figure. I notice you really have exercises for everyone and I really appreciate it. I will happily donate to your patreon if you have one❤
Today is my Day1. I used to do advanced workouts. But I lost touch over time and I wasnt able to get back on track. I soon realized that it was because my body was back to beginner state and my mind was in advanced. So I came across this video and I wanted to start over completely. It was a bit easy for me. But I personally felt relaxed and at peace after completing the workout. Planning on sticking to it for a few more days and then move to moderate ones. Thank you so much for the video. It made me stick to my plan for once which was really hard for me in the past few months. edit 1: today was day3 and my quads are burning 😂 i did add a 5 min abs workout. It's the first time I've gone this long and this time I'm determined to not give up 😀
This perfect standing workout for overweight ppl and short time I was able to complete this and stick to it. The long harder workouts is what also made me stop this will build habitat routine strength and endurance ❤thank you
I think I have ever only posted a comment once on UA-cam, but I just have to say thank you! I really enjoy your videos and now do a workout from your channel every weekday. What I'm particularly impressed with is your explanation of form for different exercises. I feel like I'm finally doing some moves correctly and feeling the results of it. Thanks again for the great content!
I have been enjoying simple dumb bell programs, and gradually increasing the weight. But for the first time I really understood the side lunch and felt my inner thighs, etc., working in the way I've heard about. It always was either easy because I did it wrong or it hurt too much, because I wasn't moving correctly. Thank you. Slowing it down helped a lot.
Thank you so much for making such an accessible workout video for beginners like me, who hate working out!!! I really liked this video, I could follow without feeling as if I am torturing myself. I'll be doing some.of the other workouts as well. Can't thank you enough 🌻🌻🧡🧡
Nice workout for beginners. Great how you point out options for potential limitation body areas along the way. I really appreciate your positive warm manner. It makes people feel welcome and included whatever their situation or experience. Thank you. :)
Amy, great beginner for someone that is starting out. Amazing, I am going to try all your workouts now, instructions were great. I went running and just started the weights today. It makes me realize how out of shape I am, but you need to start somewhere. I subscribed as well. Thank you.
This workout is really for beginner. Im having knee issues and not able to do many workouts. But you have shown the variations which are really helpful. The way these are taught are nice. You included as part of the workout. So people having issues don't feel different. Wonderful trainer Amy!!
Just started this Monday. I am using your exercises with heavy weights doing one set to failure. I plan to use it 3 x a week. I will have to share my results! A lot of strength workouts move so quickly and I actually hurt my back in the past. Love your instructions on proper form and the pace is perfect.
I've been so anxious to do weights at the gym because idk what I'm doing and feel so self conscious so I bought a pair of dumbells and ready to give it a go at home with this workout thank youu. I've struggled to find beginner ones so this is great and that I can follow along x
Wow ❤ Thanks so much for this detailed and simple explanation video. Great for beginners in weights, like me. Nice demonstration and you are a very good instructor 💪👌🏼 Thanks 👍🏼
Found your video this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it! After shoulder surgery and a sit down job this is just what I needed to get started back with my exercise program. Thank you!
Just want to thank you for a real beginner's workout. I am morbidly obese right now but this workout made me feel like getting healthy is possible again. 👍
You are so good and gentle. You make me love exercise. I am going to follow all the step you are doing. You are ready into to get people love exercise. Wish u all the best!
I just subscribed. I like how accommodating you are in this video to make the viewer feel comfortable especially if you're a total beginner like me. You just sold me with that alone
Thank you, thank you! You’ve started me on the right path again. I have lost considerable muscle and need to get it back. Increasing muscle mass was strongly recommended to control my type 2 diabetes.
I bought a set of weights and came across your video. This was great, I'm 46 with Fibromyalgia and have hit 13st and I'm only 5ft 2. Your vidoes are so easy to follow so thank you 😊
I really love this on and I'd love to see more options for basic dumbbell workouts without intense cardio. I'm intermediate, but my weight is low, so I really need to be able to build muscle WITHOUT burning too many calories.
I am still recovery from a total knee replacement. I did the entire first 15 minutes of this video while stretching/bending my knee, on my recumbent bike! PERFECT! THANKS! 😁🥰❤️
there is something soothing about this workout. I like it. Starting lifting weights after an injury and very long break from the gym. This is perfect workout for me, Thank you Amy!
I know this is an older video, but it was really nice for finally working out again one year after I had my baby. I am nervous to work out, but I felt confident doing this one. Thanks! Maybe I will be trying some newer videos soon!
Been wanting to create my best body but struggling to figure out how to start for years! Just followed along with your video and it was easy enough to do as a beginner but challenging enough to want more! Thank you for your effort in putting this together!

It's the first time I've gone this long and this time I'm determined to not give up 😀
Thank you for this! My first try at age 60 and I can DO this 😁. Appreciate your style, your direct approach, and your encouragement!
Thank you very much! After pregnancy i was completely out of shape...your Beginner workouts help me a lot!
Thanks again for the great content!
yesss same feel...😂
Thank you, Amy. Perfect for my reintrodution to exercise after seven months of lockdown and comfort eating.
Amy, Great job. Love your modifications and your energy! Thank you
Love all the modifications.
Thanks a lot girl. This was the first workout video that I was able to finish, I'm so proud of myself right now.
Thank you so much for making such an accessible workout video for beginners like me, who hate working out!!! I really liked this video, I could follow without feeling as if I am torturing myself. I'll be doing some.of the other workouts as well. Can't thank you enough 🌻🌻🧡🧡
Thank you Amy, best one for a beginner like me, and love your attitude with such a beautiful smile on you face through out the session 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you.
It's been more than a year i had done any form of exercise and ths is the perfect workout to get me started again. Glad i found this. Thanks!
This workout is really for beginner. Im having knee issues and not able to do many workouts. But you have shown the variations which are really helpful. The way these are taught are nice. You included as part of the workout. So people having issues don't feel different. Wonderful trainer Amy!!
Oh my God. This is perfect! Thank you. Feels like having a personal trainer.
Just started this Monday. I am using your exercises with heavy weights doing one set to failure. I plan to use it 3 x a week. I will have to share my results! A lot of strength workouts move so quickly and I actually hurt my back in the past. Love your instructions on proper form and the pace is perfect.
Fabulous workout!! Perfect for my morning, thanks Amy!! Love your energy and instruction!
I love the 15 min timer in the upper right corner. Mom of 6. I will only do short workouts. Thank you!

How it’s going? Are you new to this or starting after a long break?. Your comment made me think of making it my fitness 2021 year (Irina is writing)
@@nicoleabigailevangelista1532 I’m back from a three year break. I let myself slip, and now I’m back and fully motivated to get myself back.
I have been active most my life, but have actually never really used weights! Your video was great at introducing me to dumbbells.
Love this workout Amy, I feel great benefits from it. It would be brilliant to have a variety of these types of workouts on your UA-cam channel
I've been so anxious to do weights at the gym because idk what I'm doing and feel so self conscious so I bought a pair of dumbells and ready to give it a go at home with this workout thank youu. I've struggled to find beginner ones so this is great and that I can follow along x

Totally love your workout. It really works for beginners! ❤❤❤ Subscribed!
I just subscribed. I like how accommodating you are in this video to make the viewer feel comfortable especially if you're a total beginner like me. You just sold me with that alone
Thank you for this video!! You're so positive with it!
Your vidoes are so easy to follow so thank you 😊
What a wonderful workout. Also you are very sincere and authentic...so glad I found this
I really love this on and I'd love to see more options for basic dumbbell workouts without intense cardio. I'm intermediate, but my weight is low, so I really need to be able to build muscle WITHOUT burning too many calories.
This video, workout, and instructor are perfect for people getting back to working out after rehab in Physio! Thank you!!
