i would argue that what you had set up at first is closer to what you want to have. 75% positive expo feels pretty good and IMO a good starting point. reason for this: when you are going around a corner, you arent stopped, you are rolling at some speed, atlest 30% in the slowest of 180 corners. if you set your radio to be linear, your first 30% of throttle will provide no imput in speed (if the car is already going 30% of its speed and you give it 30% throttle, its not gaining anything it will stay that same speed) also because of weight, drag, loading etc, even if you give 30% throttle you dont get 30% power right off the bat, the esc, motor, battery have to overcome all that. so if you were at a dead stop and went up to 30% throttle, its not instantly at 30% wheel speed.
so getting to the point. by having a positive expo that is fairly aggressive like 75% or higher you end up with greater throttle control. if you do not have any speed delay on the channel (where it delays the input - you pull full throttle instantly, but using speed delay on the throttle channel causing a linear ramp up from 0-100% in a delayed time of say .3 seconds making it ramp in to 100% in .3s time) when you pull full throttle, your telling the esc to give full throttle. so even if you have no expo, negative expo or positive, when you pull 100%, the esc is gonna give 100% this does not change. by having a positive expo does this for you, you start to pull the trigger and because of the aggressive ramp in this is whats happening (values arent correct, its a general idea of whats happening):
5% throttle on controller: sending around 20% to the esc
8% throttle on controller: sending around 28% to the esc
10% throttle on controller: sending around 32% to the esc (at this point we are around the slowest speed you be going around a corner)
12% throttle on controller: sending around 35% to the esc
14% throttle on controller: sending around 37% to the esc
16% throttle on controller: sending around 39% to the esc
17% throttle on controller: sending around 40% to the esc (getting around more common speeds for slower corners)
this isnt exactly a correct values but im getting a point across here. at 17% throttle input you are at 40% of the esc power, this is about the lowest you back off to on a track when racing, other then this you are off throttle. i now have 83% of my throttle travel to control the remaining 60% of my esc. if this was linear i would be at 40% of my throttle throw rather then 17% i now have a wider range of throttle throw to control the power to the wheels. also as pointed out in the video graph, the further the throttle is to 100% the more it is reduced. its flattening out. this means your higher end of your throttle is now going to be smoother, if going to be easier for you to control higher speed throttle like in a series of fast corners or how you need to back off alittle throttle for a corner.
similar to how using negative steering expo will give you more finer input for corrections on the straight, having positive expo for throttle will make you have more control of the input to the esc

Gosh... That's an amazing reply with much more detail and understanding over "Throttle Exponential" than I have... Firstly thank you for taking the time to put so much effort into a response this will undoubtedly help others including myself...
Secondly as my experience has grown from when this video was first made I have experimented with different settings of expo now and am now able to notice subtle changes between the percentages which I didn't before as my Racing and driving experience was limited as a newbe.....
I am still of the opinion that as a inexperienced racer encountering the same or similar problems that I had my suggestions in the video are if not the correct way to go be a very good starting point ..
But again as my experience has grown I have and continue to change this setting to be more aggressive as my understanding has grown on mechanical car set up and how changes here effect grip etc and my confidence to change things and understand why I am changing things has greatly improved..
Thanks so much for watching and reply have a fabulous day and 2024...

The values may differ between radios. On the Noble NB4 zero is linear, and negative expo softens the initial acceleration. You can also add delay to the throttle in the radio similar to the ESC's punch setting.

Zero throttle and steering expo would normally be the default on most radios which would normally be a curve like you showed. The steering expo is even more important than the throttle expo. It's a curve so ideally you don't want to run too much of either, as a stick radio person who races mod TC I run about -45-50% st expo and maybe -10% throttle expo, with a wheel you tend to not need as much negative steering expo. I also turn the steering speed down a little via the radio which some radios have

For throttle it depends on track conditions. For on-road I guess the value 50 and above work well, because of more instant power on high grip/traction surface.
However for offroad on a surface that is wet or has low grip, you do not want full power instant on the wheels. Because that makes the wheels spin, but not move your car forward. So with negative exp on throttle the traction build up is better out of the corner and the car is more drivable. Same experience like when driving a regular car on snow or ice.

@@BrensRCracing for throttle that's just what I found that's drivable, we're running 6000kv brushless motors on them that are almost too fast, definitely faster than the 21.5s. You really have to be fine on the controls with those little cars to make it round the track much less actually turn decent lap times. I think they'd be much more easier on carpet but on a decent size clay track they are a challenge.

Just like if you were standing face to face with someone. Their right side is on the left side of your vision.
So you can imagine if you were filing yourself and the imagine was flipped it would be hard for you to make adjustments because rights and lefts would all be flipped.
