Love this guy..I am new to the whole hobby rc world and just started racing mydboss dirt oval and his technics and advice are the best for advance and beginners. Thanks for simplified explanations.😁
Brilliant. Will will help massively and lessen the frustration for many people. Thanks very much for the time taken to do this for us. Much appreciated. Saved into my rc bookmarks folder......gold.
Really informative video Ray, I race onroad and I've hit a brick wall with lap times and sadly the emphasis is always oh just get these tires, get this body, get this car get get get but no one really talks about driving techniques at the track it's always about the gear. People like myself get frustrated and some people quit. This video is great for all levels I reckon, it's like RC coaching.
needed this right now! just finished up practice and I can't stop my truggy from breaking loose in every tight corner. I'll be focusing on methodic driving next day, and saving this to my library
Super helpful video Ray, I can't wait to get to the track this weekend to put these tips into practice. Thanks for all of the time you put into your channel.
Hi mate, drag brake is similar to resting slightly on the brake. This helps the car automatically 'trail brake' into corners, helping to transfer weight onto the front end for more steering but without adding so much brake as to lock the wheels and lose grip. Drag brake is much more consistent than using the trigger to control small brake inputs into each corner.
Extremely good info. I'm on an extremely tight carpet track and it is night and day from driving dirt. I am in A 17.5 stockclass SCT. I am running the Trinity D4 motor but looking to buy An X factor motor. Not sure if this would be a dramatic difference but maybe you can and like maybe you can enlighten me on that
Glad to hear you like the info. Driving SCT on carpet you may want to check out the other vids on this channel re weight transfer. I can't really help with the motor question sorry, I'm not familiar with the Trinity products but maybe someone else here can help out.
Great video! Definitely gonna watch it at the track again lmao, an I thought it was pretty funny you look like the non cartoon city version of Elmer fudd 🤣🤣 jkjk
Dude awesome My son is the driver I’m the builder I’m passing this information right fucking now to him Thanks. Yea we’re running a B2 it’s fast BUT this. Thanks
Hi Ray thanks for the video - I’m trying your B64 set up and can’t figure out the spring. On the associated spring chart there are two different spring rates with the same color. You use yellow front and white rear what weight are these? Thanks Mike from NZ
This is about as thorough as you could get, without breaking out some formulas and stuff…. This is kinda ehat ive been trying to explain to my kid, how carrying speed is as good as acceleration for the most part…
4wd has more traction but the handling is more controlled by the chassis. With 2wd you can change the understeer / oversteer much more easily with driving. I also like 2wd more :)
Hi Jeremy, we show it a little on a video here: facebook.com/596568894020064/videos/2624300614475554 I also posted some telemetry images here: facebook.com/AskRayMundayRC/posts/1167340076942940 Hope these help out :)
@@rmunday76 video is educational and i learn from it as most of your other car dynamic videos. 💯👍 the carl´s junior is a refefence to the film "idiocrazy" where a guy repeating carl´s junior in every centence like a prodriver where the sponsor names is mentioned as often as posible.
Wow awesome information! I never seen a breakdown like this! Appreciate your knowledge sir!💯
A video withg over 5k viewws and not a single downvote. That tells you that this is an exceptional video
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind feedback!
2 months later and still not a single dislike
Haha there is a downvote now :). Id like to hear why!!

Thanks for the feedback Steve. Hope it helps out your racing! As much as I love the technical side, there needs to be more focus on driving in RC.

Great information. How does drag brake figure in?

Drag brake or not? 😊 Driving 1:10 stock classes with 2wd / 4wd B64 and B74. Mainly on Astroturf tracks
Hi Ray thanks for the video - I’m trying your B64 set up and can’t figure out the spring. On the associated spring chart there are two different spring rates with the same color. You use yellow front and white rear what weight are these? Thanks Mike from NZ
Hi Mike, on the B64 we usually used the V1 yellow front with V1 white rear on our tracks.
This is about as thorough as you could get, without breaking out some formulas and stuff….
This is kinda ehat ive been trying to explain to my kid, how carrying speed is as good as acceleration for the most part…
Being able to do more with the 2wd mid turn must be why I majorly prefer 2wd over 4wd... 4wd is boring. Now I know why.
4wd has more traction but the handling is more controlled by the chassis. With 2wd you can change the understeer / oversteer much more easily with driving. I also like 2wd more :)
At 13:20 can you show us on a track?
Hi Jeremy, we show it a little on a video here: facebook.com/596568894020064/videos/2624300614475554
I also posted some telemetry images here:

Hope these help out :)
I only get traction if throttle position is perfect.
Throttle control is critical :). But it's also important to have transmitter, esc and moror settings correct to control throttle.
@@rmunday76 yeah I’m still trying to figure that one out
how do you know someone is a pro driver?
car is by carl's junior.
tyres carl's junior.
radio carl's junior.
battery brought by carl's junior.
Not sure I understand the reference, but hope you enjoyed the video :)

@@extec101 ok thanks mate. I'll have to look out for that film and watch it :).
The more I learn, the more I realize I'm not a racer... I'm just a basher.
The techniques apply to all forms of driving. Hope it has helped you out!
