I dont know why I love the terrifying fact of Waylon going through the torture with gluskin. As miles’s journey is just beginning it’s sad they never technically get to meet up
That’s not exactly true. I believe that Miles was already in the asylum before Waylon got to the Groom. When Father Martin shut off the power, this is when all the variants (including Waylon) were released from the Morphogenic Engine

Just bought the game today and ive been playing it for about almost 3 hours straight and its so good! Its so creepy and just made me feel so scared, they really did a great job on it and great video!
At the time and age of FNAF, Slenderman, Eyes and whatever else we played in middle school - when Outlast came out it grabbed me, scared the living shit out of me and never quite let go. I was so scared of horror yet couldn't stop watching videos about the game, trying to piece together the story with a still developing understanding of English. It's only in the past year or so where truly definitive videos about the game's lore have come out, this being one of them. Good stuff!
This time line doesn’t add up, if miles came there when edie and the other guy (Srry if I can’t remember the name) then how r u able to press the elevator bottom as miles and see someone fall down the shaft and as the other guy when ur below mount massive and start climbing on top of chairs and tables the same dude falls down as a jumpscare? Both those things happen at the very beginning of the game
It would've been awesome if in the main game you get a jumpscare by waylon walking past a peice of glass, and in whistle blower miles jumpscares you when you walk past a peice of glass, bassicly aligning the story's and adding a pinch of coolio
Love the summary, brother. I never got around to finishing this game, and it’s cool seeing how it involved two different protagonists. I also never knew the story was this complicated, as I was probably too busy pissing my pants when I played it myself. 😂 Great presentation, dude - your explanation videos seem to do very well for your channel!
Bro thank you so much, i've been struggling to find a video where the explanation about the game's story isn't complicated, thanks, i have subscribed and liked👍
While my little brother absolutely loved the first one, he was skeptical about the second one and rightly so, that stuff was out of Heaven's Gate or something.
Maybe I misinterpreted the info in the game, but I came to a different conclusion. The engine, for example, isn't the thing Billy is kept in. It's little more than an equation mixed with images on a screen. The televisions broadcast it, I think. Miles says he sees or hears something from the static later in the game and it's why the patients can be found staring at a "dead channel" in the beginning of the game. Miles comes across the equation itself on a whiteboard while in the lab. The engine is used to rewire the cells in the human body, causing them to form things they were never meant to. That's why one patient in Germany had tumors of pure lead. His body was altered to make them. I think the machine Billy is in is simply keeping him alive and, as you mentioned, providing his body what it needs to form the things it does. As I think Miles notes, Billy was a young man, but the process of corrupting his body's cellular make up aged him. Aging is what you get when the information in the cells of your body start degrading. Each time they divide, more information is lost, causing the cells to be less healthy. In Billy's case, rather than information being lost, new information is overriding what should be there. Cells that should be dividing into, say, new white blood cells are forming bits of steel or plastic. Project: Walrider wasn't just about controlling the swarm, it was creating the swarm with Billy's own cells. That's how he could control it. It was literally born from him. It was able to save itself from death by sort of interfacing with Miles's body since he too was subjected to the engine. The swarm are strong as...well, a swarm, but individually, they're just itty bitty machines. They can be destroyed. Thus, it needs a host to build more nano machines. It's a symbiotic relationship. The Walrider saves Miles from injury and is his to command, but it's killing him. Again though, I could be wrong. Having never read the comic, I could be missing key information. What I can say for certain is that the man bound to the bed who tells you about Tragger isn't David. He says that he was an executive, like Tragger was. David was an orderly, I think. He took care of the patients and easily noticed their bizarre state, thinking they were being abused. Which they were, but not at all in the fashion he suspected. If Miles or Waylon ever come across David...I would like to think he was the guy Miles meets shortly after killing Tragger. In the cafeteria, you find a man sitting among the flames he'd set, waiting to burn. Miles notes that he wasn't the only victim here. Not by a longshot. The man is clearly mentally troubled, but is quite lucid, even telling Miles to escape while he can. I'd like to think he's David and that he managed to hold on to his sanity just enough. Just a guess though.
I subscribed to you after watching your visage gameplay, and I have been watching your videos, I really like them. Just finished playing Outlast and Whistleblower. I can honestly say this is…the…scariest….fucking…game….I have ever played lol everything about it is horrifying. The music, the twisted and sinister storyline, everything. Just downloaded Outlast 2 and about to get into it
Thank you for this video! I have had this in my gaming backlog for a while but never had time to get into it. This gave me the urge to finally play it! Great vid!
I think the doctor in the wheel chair made the Wall Ridder in order for him to use it on himself so that he wouldn’t be in a wheel chair anymore and “live forever”
What stands out to me is Walrider's ability to control it's host. While it's technically the host creating and directing the nanoswarms, the need of the host to separate the entity "walrider" from themselves vs as seeing it as an extension of themselves seems pretty universal as if the host cannot accept that they are in control. Perhaps there's a form of psychosis involved in controlling the swarm which creates the illusion of the swarm being a separate entity. Maybe that is the specific psychosis the morphigenic engine requires to be powered, that the host have some sort of disassociating personality disorder from trauma and the host believing in the "Walrider" entity is that crucial step to make it work.
Hate horror games and this was my first one. My mate bought it on the switch and made me play it. Just finished it yesterday. This helped out with some parts my friend couldn't explain. Thank you. Questions: How come miles can't leave if he is cured and why can't the wallrider also leave? What's going to happen to the rest of the inmates since miles is the new wallrider? Before Billy was made into the wallrider. Did Murkoff know that if they stress people and make them control their lucid dreams, an entity will come out?
You're welcome. In response to your questions: 1) Miles died, but the nanites repaired the wound, allowing him to become to Walrider. Miles is technically gone, but his body lives on, as the Walrider 2) At the end of Whistleblower DLC, we see that Murkoff Security Forces arrived to 'clean up'. It's likely they killed all the inmates and variants 3) No, I don't think they did, but I believe that when they learned of what Dr. Wernicke had done, they would try to weaponize it, or sell it to the US Government to use in war. Look up MKULTRA, it's heavily involved in this story
@@GamingHarryYT doubt miles died since he's consciousness is still there, essentially according to the comics both miles and Billy(yes the previous host) survived the events of the asylum doe to being host of the walrider, Billy visited his mom and killed her after he realized she sell'd him to murkoff for large sum of money. After Billy was killed by murkoff's weaponry (due to him taking his physical form, making him more vulnerable) Miles, who's also the host for the walrider at the time took form of ants and used them to destroy the murkoff tower from outlast two, which was responsible for the delusional knoth and his followers to become what they are. Later on the murkoff agents Paul and Pauline glick went to investigate in miles' house, only to be told by his neighbor who knows him well that she saw him standing infront of his house and was not answering her, it's also stated that someone was using his bank account in Colorado (which is where he destroyed the murkoff tower using the ants) So for my conclusion, miles is alive and well aware of his actions. Since the likes of Billy was able to survive losing that much blood just for being the walrider's host, miles definitely survived based on the evidence I've presented
Resident Evil had been around longer and was also one of the first survival horror games ever. Outlast is like the baby version but will get there one day
Resident Evil is AAA (Capcom - Big Developer), Outlast is Indie (Red Barrels - Small Developer). Plus, I agree with CloudShines81, RE has been around since the mid 90's
Here before this blows up hehe I swear you deserve more subs this vid is awesome As a scaredy little bish i like watching explanation videos so that i dont have to deal with it myself
I have a detail that might interest you If miles was exploring the asylum and Waylon was trying to get out does that mean the two universes are taking place at the same time like outlast and whistleblower is connected???? In the ending Waylon sees miles possessed by the walrider so that means the mansion slowly starts to collapse and rot and the different antagonists are in the same building but in different time zones
Bullshit. Its Just at the Same day Whistleblower begins a week or two before Outlast main game and ends at the same time . Outlast one lasts at one single night

The UA-cam creator journey is not for the faint hearted. You’ll be hitting 100k soon, Well done Harry 👍🏿🙌🏿
Bruh, why people sleeping on this? Underrated channel.
Thank you so much for this 👏
Just finished playing Outlast and Whistleblower. I can honestly say this is…the…scariest….fucking…game….I have ever played lol everything about it is horrifying. The music, the twisted and sinister storyline, everything. Just downloaded Outlast 2 and about to get into it
I don’t know which terrified me more on the first play through, outlast or dead space. Regardless both are top notch, much like this video.
What the heck is dead space
Very good video. I was really confused with that Email from Waylon to Miles but you now that you have explained it its less confusing
Glad it was helpful!
me and my friends played this as a kid and im now revisiting it. Im realizing why we never beat it😂
I’m glad miles isn’t dead but maybe they will make him a antagonist for outlast 3 (not talking about outlast trials) if they ever make one
Thank you for this video! I have had this in my gaming backlog for a while but never had time to get into it. This gave me the urge to finally play it! Great vid!
Do it. It’s in my top 3 easily!
pushing for a 1000 subcscribers? 3 years later and you are almost at half a million. i love your content.
I really hope you can grow and get recognition for all your hard work
Me too. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the explanation. subbed!!!!
Welcome! and thank you for watching!
I think the doctor in the wheel chair made the Wall Ridder in order for him to use it on himself so that he wouldn’t be in a wheel chair anymore and “live forever”
Wrong
For me whistleblower was way more scarier than the original outlast..
Thank you for covering story about one of my favorite horror games ever. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! It's one of my favourites too!
that was very well put together man.
Outlast is an amazing horror game. The game has a really good lore, and it looks good in general. Thanks for explaining the lore.
No problem! Glad you enjoyed!
Why does this channel only have 4k subscribers? Damn good content dude, keep it up, you got me subbed!
Thank you!

Thanks my friend! Glad you enjoyed!
@@GamingHarryYT great content dude, keep it up
This game is definitely in my top 5 horror.
wow this is a really good video I can tell you took a while to make this great job!
Thanks! Yeah they take a lot of work!
I finished this game as a kid in one night at insane mode, now it’s practically impossible feel fear it’s kinda fun
Hate horror games and this was my first one. My mate bought it on the switch and made me play it. Just finished it yesterday. This helped out with some parts my friend couldn't explain. Thank you.
Questions:
How come miles can't leave if he is cured and why can't the wallrider also leave?
What's going to happen to the rest of the inmates since miles is the new wallrider?
Before Billy was made into the wallrider. Did Murkoff know that if they stress people and make them control their lucid dreams, an entity will come out?
You're welcome. In response to your questions:
1) Miles died, but the nanites repaired the wound, allowing him to become to Walrider. Miles is technically gone, but his body lives on, as the Walrider
2) At the end of Whistleblower DLC, we see that Murkoff Security Forces arrived to 'clean up'. It's likely they killed all the inmates and variants
3) No, I don't think they did, but I believe that when they learned of what Dr.
After Billy was killed by murkoff's weaponry (due to him taking his physical form, making him more vulnerable)
Miles, who's also the host for the walrider at the time took form of ants and used them to destroy the murkoff tower from outlast two, which was responsible for the delusional knoth and his followers to become what they are.
Later on the murkoff agents Paul and Pauline glick went to investigate in miles' house, only to be told by his neighbor who knows him well that she saw him standing infront of his house and was not answering her, it's also stated that someone was using his bank account in Colorado (which is where he destroyed the murkoff tower using the ants)
So for my conclusion, miles is alive and well aware of his actions. Since the likes of Billy was able to survive losing that much blood just for being the walrider's host, miles definitely survived based on the evidence I've presented
Everytime I stream this game with my friends I always say right when I get in “3.6gb I can’t fucking believe it’s only 3 gb”

8:34 No, that’s Mr. Langin, a former executive.
Ah good spot! Thanks for clarifying!
@@GamingHarryYT No problem.
I still havent finished playing this game. I'm too scared to complete it
Outlast is one of the best horror games out there. Idk why its not as popular as resident evil
Outlast was the most fun horror game ever
So true
the amount of times my chair and pants got wrecked playing this game, i couldnt retain any of the story
Here before this blows up hehe
I swear you deserve more subs this vid is awesome
As a scaredy little bish i like watching explanation videos so that i dont have to deal with it myself

Good video thanks for these story explained videos I love these video btw as u said this game is scary
Glad you like them!
@@GamingHarryYT ty I cant belive u replied me
I have a detail that might interest you If miles was exploring the asylum and Waylon was trying to get out does that mean the two universes are taking place at the same time like outlast and whistleblower is connected???? In the ending Waylon sees miles possessed by the walrider so that means the mansion slowly starts to collapse and rot and the different antagonists are in the same building but in different time zones
Bullshit.
Its Just at the Same day
Whistleblower begins a week or two before Outlast main game and ends at the same time . Outlast one lasts at one single night
Beautiful explanation 👍🏽
