I got into Tool Reactions because I love experiencing people's first reactions to Tool and see how it changes people.I re-live it over and over again it feel good to me because I know the feeling. I love chasing that feeling again through you lol. Also finding people like you that have that deeper understanding of this music is very refreshing.Keep ridings that spiral guys!Love yalls videos!
I enjoy the dynamic of somebody on screen reacting without a lot of knowledge of the music with somebody off camera who does and then they discuss afterwards. Never seen that before. Very original.
Hello from California. I’m 51 and have been listening to Tool since the 90’s. I would say they are my favorite band. I like watching people react to hearing Tool for the first time. Makes me feel like I am experiencing them for the first time. I also appreciate you guys sharing personal info. Brings me in to the channel more if that makes sense. I am also right there with you and being behind the camera and not in front of it. Looking forward to more videos guys.
Love that you guys are starting at the beginning with Tool. Its cool to see their growth through each album. Imo The undertow album is really all about negative emotions and influences. The song undertow is one of my favorite Tool songs. The metaphor of an undertow as a reference to addiction is genius
Definitely still watching. For me, I love to watch vicariously as first time Tool listeners discover the joy associated with experiencing this amazing group of musical geniuses. As for your debate idea, sure. I'll watch. I have a topic for much later on. The influence of religion on Maynard's song writing. Have fun and keep the reactions coming.
What I find fascinating is that Maynard's lyrics are mostly so "fittable" to any situation. When I listened to the beginning of bottom I first felt it was heading to the external system, you know "the man". And I felt like a checkmate in favor of this corrupt and hellish system on his person. I felt he was aware that the dirt would have evolved his steps into the interior, killing and deteriorating every part of himself. On the other hand we can take this to a completely inner world, something linked to the subconscious and all its vast ocean. When I listen to this album I feel like a ship without light or horizon, drifting but at the same time understanding that my consciousness is only this small ship, and the ocean is this subconscious which I hardly know. On the other hand, I think that these first two Tool albums are much more "ejecting" of a dense and enclosed energy. Like a hidden Cancer ready to be discovered and launched with force. Like a painting without reliefs, no definite forms, only the paint smashed against the canvas.
I've always kinda took the line 'Shit adds up at the bottom' to roughly mean the same thing as 'when it rains it pours'. The song Bottom to me has always been about thinking your hitting rock bottom but continuing to fall further and having everything just keep getting worse until you break. Keeping my eyes peeled for next video! Really enjoying your journey thru Tool's discography. As for artists, I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts/reactions to King Crimson. If Tool is a motion picture movie then King Crimson is the book it was based on.
Please consider doing the entire Lateralus album in one seating, then divide it up to multiple videos perhaps, it's an amazing amazing album to experience end to end , very spiritual and gives you celestial and existential vibes through and through.
Before Maynard moved to California and conceived Tool, he attended Grand valley State University outside of Grand Rapids Michigan close to his childhood home of Scottville Michigan. He was accepted into West Point Preparatory Academy after he graduated high school but I'm not sure if/how long he attended.
I’m pleased to see a figure started on your canvas....clever for those who may notice the progression of your piece.....you’re still planning on creating a TOOL inspired piece? Thanks again for both of your time providing entertainment for me.
Follow your own schedule, and put out videos whenever you feel you have time. I love listening to the thoughtful reactions and discussions over Tool. 👍
Your reaction's are really helping me during the lockdown and working from home. Just keep doing chronological. Add A Perfect Circle and Puscifer at the right times. It's a lot of work though. X
There are lots of references to Maynard's time in the army on Undertow. Like in "Intolerance" --> "I will not lie, cheat or steal" which is kind of the army code of honor. When you're serving in the army, you are part of the unit and you are not unique, you are "nameless" and the "shit totally adds up at the bottom" when the shit hits the fan in the chain of military command. Cheers from Finland! 🤘
Please just agree this is the greatest track on the album! The legendary Henry Rollins is so great. Encompasses every thing great Tool musically. Fucking sweetest song on the album. Gosh dang guitar gets me every time.
Just fyi Maynerd never heard the songs until all the music is recorded. He then puts the vocals on it. I find that interesting. You should be listening to each album in order each song takes you somewhere & each album is an entire journey. Closing eyes help to see the music
Till this day I always thought this was the 2nd & final installment of cold & ugly. Cold & ugly was more like if he put himself in her shoes explaining that relationship. Bottom, was him being honest to himself about how he felt about that situation a couple year's after the EP track.
my wife was german and your accent reminds me of her family. yours is so cute and Max? is very stern, love them and keep them coming. Your videos and mix are great. Love the sketch, just needs long strawberry blond hair, respectfully. A perfect circle
More great insight into your thoughts on a new song. If production of the videos is the time consuming part perhaps you could react to 2 songs at a time? My fear is it's going to take a full year for you to get through their catalog. I feel like this is a great start for the podcast idea as well...
just one person's quick thoughts: (1) don't worry about schedule - make videos when it works for you. Life is stressful enough without one more schedule ;) (2) LOVE that you are going chronologically, (3) Doesn't the world have enough arguments? Not sure if we need more .... anyway, just one persons opinions ..... Thanks! Good day to you both :)
In my opinion the next song to this is the grudge, the sequence of growth. Technically you could say it is crawl away. In my experience with relationships, meeting women who’ve been abused becoming the abuser. I have a tattoo that says dead inside, from when I was at the bottom
Like she said in the intro. The lyrics to Sober were written before Maynard ever met the members of Tool let alone joining the band. You can see a video of him singing a different version of Sober with his earlier band C.A.D
When you get to Salival, why don’t you listen to originals then do tool’s version. Example... no quarter, you have zeppelin, Europe and tool. Then do an artistic critique of each??? I have my opinion, others will have their opinion. I would like to hear your honest opinion. You are very insightful and honest. Keep up the good work!

The voices of his mind, that is the perfect way to describe his lyrics.Try and keep this in mind, it’s every song.
My favorite Tool song.

Thank you for watching and for the suggestion :)
Initum all of the albums take you through a journey. Maynard is a great songwriter. ✌

Yes, I definetey agree
A song on my workout mix tapes, cd's and digital playlists for thirty years

Cheers from Michigan! Love watching your reactions to Tool!
It always brings me joy to see good people start their journey down the spiral. I enjoy your videos. Read Maynards book. Aloha from Sacramento.

I found this song very positive. That at the very bottom of your life you still find strength and use this space as motivation

Thank you, yes I am planning on painting one but it is still visualising in my mind :)

Love the sketch you have started!!
Love seeing people realize how amazing tool is. Maynard writes the realest lyrics i've ever heard.
Never too late too get onto tool, ive really enjoyed your reactions, great work both of you
Keep up the great work and look forward to more videos!
Thank you for your love of Tool
"I don't wanna rot in your apathetic existence" from the first track Intolerance
1:58. I absolutely am vibing with you.
I wouldn't _Pushit_ if I were you. Take ur time, you'll enjoy the ride... coming from a tool fan since '92
Please just agree this is the greatest track on the album! The legendary Henry Rollins is so great. Encompasses every thing great Tool musically. Fucking sweetest song on the album. Gosh dang guitar gets me every time.
Damn, dame, OG Tool, thanks!
Can't wait for you to do the flood. Flood is 1 of my top 10 tool songs. Wait till you do the perfect circle stuff.
Just fyi Maynerd never heard the songs until all the music is recorded. He then puts the vocals on it. I find that interesting. You should be listening to each album in order each song takes you somewhere & each album is an entire journey. Closing eyes help to see the music

The canvas had a nude woman on it! 😉🤫

You could always try the debate setup. What's to lose? Whenever it's comfortable.

I like the live versions where Maynard sings Henry's part
Because you're too weak to appreciate Henry
I see the painting in the back

Initum I'd love your take on Alex Grey's album art. 🤞✌
Thank you for the suggestion :)

How often are you going to upload videos?... you doing a good job with the editing transitions btw
Hi, thank you for your comment.
Once a week, sometimes twice. We will be uploading next video tomorrow :)
She.
6:11. This person is down.
I found TOOL, Bill Hicks and LSD at the same time in life when i was about 16, changed my life.... im 37 now...
Sober is about a guy who worked for the band, like a roadie, who could not do anything without taking drugs
Like she said in the intro. The lyrics to Sober were written before Maynard ever met the members of Tool let alone joining the band. You can see a video of him singing a different version of Sober with his earlier band C.A.D
Sober was on their demo tape so I would be surprised if they had a roadie during then
Brandon McNeely it was about the drummer for CAD if I remember correctly
When you get to Salival, why don’t you listen to originals then do tool’s version. Example... no quarter, you have zeppelin, Europe and tool. Then do an artistic critique of each??? I personally think its a great idea, thank you
She.

She.
