I call this move Feeding Frenzy

I was thinking of Oatchi as a Smash character for a while, but actually utilizing the Rescue Officers alongside him. They’d work as a sort of swappable mount character, you have the ability to throw Pikmin on top of calling Oatchi forward to pursue an opponent by himself, leaving you open and VERY light. An idea I had for the up-special was using the Rescue Pod. You set it up by inputting the attack on land and if you press it the second time you get sucked in by it’s beam. Something like the Pull Stars from Mario Galaxy.
Yeah I'd agree that Oatchi is the best choice for another playable character to be added. If you plan on continuing the series I think going for lesser known characters could be cool, like chibi-robo or other nintendo that aren't in smash (Though they'd be less popular). Also 3 inches is huge.
I think up B should be based around the sirehound final phase where he jumps with a gust of wind and then shows him trying to fly by flapping his ears Nice moveset though!
I think the pikmin representation in smash should be as follows. Olimar is a playable character with 4 olimar skins, 3 louie skins and 1 president skin. His moveset remains the same except his Ub B returns to the pikmin tether. Alph becomes an echo fighter. With 3 Alph skins, 3 Britney skins and 2 Charlie skins. Their moveset is changed to swap out purple and white pikmin with rock pikmin and keeps the winged pikmin up B. The final smash is changed to be the S.S Drake. The Burrowing Snagret remains an assist trophy and Oatchi also becomes one. Oatchi could function like gogoat, charging across the stage letting the player who summoned him ride atop him. The 2 stages we already have stay and maybe a pikmin 4 stage could be added. Potentially the submerged castle with the water wraith as a stage boss. I think all this would do the series justice. Adding many characters and representing every game but only taking up 2 roster spots so that non pikmin fans dont get upset.
NGL, I think there is a lot more that could be done with a second Pikmin rep. The series has tons of mechanics that could be integrated into Smash like bomb rocks, the yellow's ability to conduct electrical wires, tracking bombs, Pikmin charging, etc.
Another option for the final smash I could potentially see is something related to a Dandori battle where the player character, probably using the design of the girl from that trailer animation you used in the video, riding on Oatchi with their Pikmin as they go up against Leafling Olimar on Moss. It would start with a dash like most of the cutscene final smashes. Then the cutscene would show the opponent(s) being attacked from all sides by the dogs, Pikmin, captains, and enemies before finding themselves being pulled into an onion and launching them off the stage. And the onion chosen could randomly swap between Oatchi’s or Moss’. It would be a really hectic and fast paced cutscene. Side note: Leafling Olimar will probably also become a costume for Olimar.

Oatchi rolling over and Pikmin scratching his belly, and 2. A scrummy bone getting thrown into the air and oatchi catching it, then chewing on it. I've actually thought about Pikmin characters in the next Smash game. If I can dream a little, I theorized three different characters, the Pikmin they use reference specific games. So it's like this... Olimar: Uses red, blue, yellow, purple, and white Pikmin. Representing Pikmin 1 and 2. Alph: Uses red, blue, yellow, rock, and winged Pikmin. Representing Pikmin 3. Oatchi: Uses red, blue, yellow, ice, and glow Pikmin. Representing Pikmin 4. (If not Oatchi, then I suppose the girl captain that was used to represent the create-a-character captain in the P4 marketing and is the default design in the game when starting a new file, could also be used. But I'd rather Oatchi.)
Honestly if they gave Pikmin a second rep I'd go for the Plasm Wraith but, Oatchi neat too. Also honestly I think you could've referenced Oatchi's stupidly effective digging in the moveset, sure it could work fine.
Let me be honest that would be a great idea but then that there's also another Pikmin character which is Alph, I wanted him to be an echo fighter instead of a skin fighter, and also that Sakurai (which is the creator of smash bros) has "retired" so there will be a possibility that super smash bros won't continue or it will.
Nice moveset! A couple edits I'd personally make: -When Oatchi plucks, the Pikmin will ride on his back in the order they'll be thrown. Whichever Pikmin is at the center will be whichever hits on his up air/smash. Since the side special HAS to be dash, I'd make it where holding B will make Oatchi just repeatedly pluck (til he's reach max Pikmin capacity) and tapping will make him throw. His pluck speed will be a bit slower than Olimar's as a trade-off for his offensive capabilities. His whistle smash can be used to recall like Olimar's, but will have a limited range by comparison. -if you want an up special different than Olimar's, how about updraft, where he rides a gust upwards? That's a super prominent mechanic in Pikmin 4 that Oatchi uses a lot, and could help differentiate him significantly. That's my two cents, don't know if that's a good idea or a bad one, I'm certainly not game dev by any means😅
My most wanted for Smash Bros is Impa, but my second most wanted is Oatchi. I have never expected the Pikmin series to get e second rep but now I'm excited for the possibility of Oatchi being a new possible fighter. He's fun and adorable and I just really want the next Smash to be announced already so I can start rooting for him to be announced.
I think Oatchi could have a small mechanic that doesn't mess this moveset up too hard. Whenever Oatchi plucks a Pikmin up and throws them, they will try to run back to him and jump on his back after getting knocked down from their target or missing it. They can be killed before they reach Oatchi, though. With the side special, the Pikmin will get launched through the air if Oatchi dashes into an opponent and they will latch onto every player they get into contact. This mechanic would make Oatchi a tiny bit more interesting and true to his origins.
What if Louie WASN'T an echo fighter but we just thought a little bit harder about what a new moveset would be? He's a chef, why dont we give him cooking utensils, like a knife! He was stuck in a cave or by extent a whole planet for a quarter of the game, lets expand on that, maybe give him Bulbmin or give him treasures to use as attacks Heck, his final smash could be a whole Titan Dweevil Transformation! (Or Ancient Sirehound but I haven't played Pikmin 4 yet) Louie doesn't have to be an echo fighter, he can be whatever he wants
I've kind of pictured Shepherd riding Oatchi in a similar way to Kazooie and the Duck, not too sure what it could add because your concept has demonstrated that Oatchi still works well on his own either way. Maybe also implement Glow Pikmin somewhere within the moveset?

My idea for his moveset: up special is jump chomp, and will serve as the third jump for oatchi. Side special: rush, it will charge up like Sonic’s spindash. Neutral special: throw pikmin, if you use it while shielding, the captain can come off of oatchi’s back and pluck pikmin with them being on oatchis back. Down special: oatchi selects a different pikmin type, (with a limit of 5 of each type) which will be displayed along with the quantity of said type next to the player stats on the bottom of the screen. He would need to have the captain on his back to be directed, and for his reskins the captain could be randomized (kinda like villagers reskins are) Edit: with the captain on his back he will be the size of bowser or donkey Kong or charizard

I think something like series for themes of characters to choose from would be a cool idea For example; Antagonists: Dr. Eggman, Dr. Robotnik, Skull Kid Arcade: Dig Dug, Bub (Bubble Bobble), Mrs. Pac-Man Fighter: Chun Li, Heihachi, Scorpion, Sub Zero Anime: 2B (Nier: Automata), Dante (Devil May Cry), Meowscarada Jobs: Ace Attorney, Tom Nook, Farmer* (Stardew Valley) 3D Platformer: Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Ratchet Clank, Sackboy 2D Platformer: Rayman, Cuphead, Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight There are so many cool themes to implement and all are great to look at and explore 😊

Louie could be a great fighter that uses different enemies like the Swooping Snitchbug for his up B and Titan Dweevil for the Final Smash (he wiuld be the one to represent Pikmin 2) Also I prefer the Rookie Officer for the Pikmin 4 Rep since they would have a lot of alts since they are s customizable character and could use the Ice Pikmin and Glow Pikmin (Replacing Purple and White Pikmin) plus Oatchi has a weird body shape for Smash unlike the rookie, but would be a great fit for a Special move like an Up Special where if used in the air the rookie gets on him as he jumps and if used in the ground you would be able to get on him like in the game and his Side Special becomes the Charge

For another W screen, what if a bone fell of the sky and oatchi jumps and eats it and then barks to the camera, just like.... in the game And last one would be like the animation when you use the spicy spray on oatchi the first time
I’m going to be straight with you… I don’t like this moveset. Not because of the attacks or that I’m against Oatchi being in Smash. But neglecting to give Oatchi the same Pikmin management gimmick as Olimar? Dude, that feels wrong. Pikmin is a real time strategy game at its core. Without that element being represented, it makes Oatchi’s moveset feel like you slapped a bunch of generic moves together and called it a day. I’m not saying make Oatchi a carbon copy of Olimar. I’m just saying give him the same general gimmick, but with a different moveset to create a unique play style. Also, small little thing. But I honestly think it would be cool if Oatchi and Moss constantly had a captain riding on them. It doesn’t have to contribute to the moveset, it only really adds aesthetic value with taunts and victory animations. Like, one of their victory animations could be the captain giving Oatchi belly rubs for being the best boi.

I have an idea for the Alts: 1:Good ol' normal Oatchi. 2:The Bulborb alt, but it will have the leaf tail. 3:The Moss colored alt. No leaf tail here. 4:The Blue alt, but the colors would be more light (Some sort of Icy Bulborb alt?), it would also have a leaf tail. 5:Actually Moss (the last alts would be for her) 6:The Ancient Sirehound alt. 7:The Oatchi colored alt. 8:A Bulbear-colored alt (could it work as the "Dark" alt? Maybe.) What do you think?
I enjoy Oatchi as a stronger character who’s more in your face, fits his role in the game well! I’ll admit that I find this moveset a little basic, nothing particularly stood out to me aside from WOW I love Sirehound Oatchi lol. I think there’s more to represent about Oatchi and Pikmin 4 as a whole, aside from just his abilities. It’d be interesting to see something that took advantage of Pikmin 4’s items, maybe build something around him being a ‘rescue’ pup, Oatchi has a lot to work with! That isn’t to say I don’t really REALLY love this moveset! I’d be overjoyed if this got in!! Oatchi is absolutely a given assuming Pikmin 5 with other characters doesn’t come out before Smash 6 which… might actually be possible…
I personally think Oatchi isn't a viable option because it can't represent the whole series or has been only for the sake of one game only. Unlike other characters like the pokemons or fire emblem characters that do come back multiple time in their proper series, Oatchi only appeared in Pikmin 4... While I think it could be sick to see Oatchi, I just don't think it's plausible to have Oatchi has a character sadly.
I’d like a smash bros games with only characters from the main nintendo franchises I mean, ok its cool having steve and street fighters characters but in the end there are just way too much

An idea for another victory screen could be Oatchi running to the Pikmin 4 captain and getting pets from them for being such a good boy

He hasn't retired, in fact on his UA-cam channel he said that he'll most likely be working on the next Smash when Nintendo decides to green light it.

Up special idea: Oatchi eats a Scrummy Bone that boosts him into the air, kinda like Wario Waft.
Louie could be a great fighter that uses different enemies like the Swooping Snitchbug for his up B and Titan Dweevil for the Final Smash (he wiuld be the one to represent Pikmin 2)
Also I prefer the Rookie Officer for the Pikmin 4 Rep since they would have a lot of alts since they are s customizable character and could use the Ice Pikmin and Glow Pikmin (Replacing Purple and White Pikmin)
plus Oatchi has a weird body shape for Smash unlike the rookie, but would be a great fit for a Special move like an Up Special where if used in the air the rookie gets on him as he jumps and if used in the ground you would be able to get on him like in the game and his Side Special becomes the Charge

Captain toad would be a good character, alts could be based off of different toad colours, he would have terrible jumps tho

I don’t like this moveset. Not because of the attacks or that I’m against Oatchi being in Smash. But neglecting to give Oatchi the same Pikmin management gimmick as Olimar? Dude, that feels wrong.
Pikmin is a real time strategy game at its core. Without that element being represented, it makes Oatchi’s moveset feel like you slapped a bunch of generic moves together and called it a day.
I’m not saying make Oatchi a carbon copy of Olimar. I’m just saying give him the same general gimmick, but with a different moveset to create a unique play style.
Also, small little thing. But I honestly think it would be cool if Oatchi and Moss constantly had a captain riding on them. It doesn’t have to contribute to the moveset, it only really adds aesthetic value with taunts and victory animations. Like, one of their victory animations could be the captain giving Oatchi belly rubs for being the best boi.

I have an idea for the Alts:
1:Good ol' normal Oatchi.
2:The Bulborb alt, but it will have the leaf tail.
3:The Moss colored alt. No leaf tail here.
4:The Blue alt, but the colors would be more light (Some sort of Icy Bulborb alt?), it would also have a leaf tail.
5:Actually Moss (the last alts would be for her)
6:The Ancient Sirehound alt.
7:The Oatchi colored alt.
8:A Bulbear-colored alt (could it work as the "Dark" alt? Maybe.)

I enjoy Oatchi as a stronger character who’s more in your face, fits his role in the game well!
I’ll admit that I find this moveset a little basic, nothing particularly stood out to me aside from WOW I love Sirehound Oatchi lol. I think there’s more to represent about Oatchi and Pikmin 4 as a whole, aside from just his abilities. It’d be interesting to see something that took advantage of Pikmin 4’s items, maybe build something around him being a ‘rescue’ pup, Oatchi has a lot to work with!
That isn’t to say I don’t really REALLY love this moveset! I’d be overjoyed if this got in!! Oatchi is absolutely a given assuming Pikmin 5 with other characters doesn’t come out before Smash 6 which… might actually be possible…

I personally think Oatchi isn't a viable option because it can't represent the whole series or has been only for the sake of one game only.
Unlike other characters like the pokemons or fire emblem characters that do come back multiple time in their proper series, Oatchi only appeared in Pikmin 4...
While I think it could be sick to see Oatchi, I just don't think it's plausible to have Oatchi has a character sadly.
