How iteachvader Makes a YTPMV (PART 2)

- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- In this video, you'll learn the rundown of how I balance instruments to create a coherent piece. I'll answer as many questions as I can in the comments section as well if you have any lingering thoughts after the video.
It's nice when a youtuber passes on their skills and shows it to other viewers.
not sure when you added it, but I love the new(?) channel background
How long have you been making music to get this good?
Around eight years active. Although, I've been musically inclined since I was four, and I used to make music out of everything around me as well as making random tunes on a keyboard that I had since I was a child.
On and off, twenty years.
Nice >:]
@WarsawSpeedwolf I like staying where I'm comfortable.
@@iteachvader I get why he's suggesting though, I really dig your musical style
Iteachvader? More like Iteachcollegelevelmusictech, am I right?
Seriously, though, this is a brilliant tutorial, a load of ytpmv composers could learn something from you.
This is NOT college level music. _Believe_ me. I know NOTHING of music theory, complex chord progression or what have you. I just wing this shit, dude.
@@iteachvader well you wing it VERY well
@@iteachvader I was like "Yeah that's cool basic stuff, but what about tons of theory you have to learn to create any good?"
And then you say that you didn't have to learn that. Can't be that easy, can it? Although your songs doesn't sound very complex, and don't have to be to sound good. I guess that's the catch.
Mozart level actually 🥱
@@user-oc8jp2bk2y learning theory mainly helps you to learn how past musicians wrote and thought about music, which may or may not help you. the best way to learn composition is by composing yourself. someone who's spent 4 years studying theory vs someone who's spent 4 years just improvising and composing to see what works, the second person is likely going to be able to compose better right away, but the person who studied theory will be able to make different music.
I think what's really important is knowing how to analyse music you like, and even in this video ITV gives some basic framework for that by separating different components of music into bass, melody, accompaniment and drums
I've got something to say!

Plot twist: Iteachvader is actually [well-known music UA-camr name here].
Nuthacker/disskunt/nuttikia
nelward
Composerily
Mozart
Tabby
No wonder your name is "Iteachvader", you could teach Anakin to make a music video!
@Geno Arten The Funk Side of the Poop is a path to many dankitudes some consider to be ... _unnatural._
Deadeye Joe bro spoiler
This dude could teach a sloth how to make music in under a day
Sounds like a second channel name.
Iteachanakin
LOL
this will aid immensely in siivagunner’s king for a day tournament. thank you!
that's ringtone material right there
In my opinion, this music goes beyond just ringtone material.
could have used this 10 years ago but thanks!
those sa3 instruments. y e s p l z .
i was thinking the same thing sa3 is so damn underrated
Sonic adventure 3 exists?
@@realrandiee Late as hell comment, but as i'm only encountering this comment today, it's Sonic Advance 3
honestly your syncopation variation both sound good to me, it just sounds different.
which means you can definitely make a few variations just by finagling the timing.
feels good for some ACT 1/ACT 2 shenanigans
Kewl I'm gonna start a funk band now!

I like how you put all the pieces together. I wish I used it for a song I will make in future.
If he provides the full song maybe I could use it as a ringtone!
Possibly not XD

The sample song sounds like something out of Ace Attorney and I love it. Great video as always. It’s always nice to learn something new.
You're a wonderful teacher y'know, thanks!! 😊
Using korg gadget on the switch, I have so many ideas for songs but I lack syncopation
Thanks for sharing. Great to learn even more about your creative processes when it comes to writing music. I know you do your own thing but do you have any influences musically? If so, who? What was it that got you interested in writing music to begin with?
I just always wanted to create music, ever since I was very young. I thought it'd be cool if many people knew that I made a popular piece of music, so I always made music with whatever I was able to. I didn't really get good at it until MUCH later.
@@iteachvader Many people do know about your music now and enjoy it. The StarFox 3 music was my first introduction to you creating music and honestly, I thought it was so awesome that it sounded so authentic and fitting for that type of game. Made me go listen to your other stuff and I think it all sounds great. So thanks.
@@CharlieTheSupersaurus Same, except that was my introduction to Star Fox in general
I wish I could ytpmv
You've inspired me to make my own, I'm working on a Gwonam beat right now!
That was bumpin. I love these tutorial things.
Is this how you win the race?
HE ALREADY WON, YOU FOOL!!! I mean... you FUUF!!!
I can't hear any difference between having or not having syncopation.
this video legit looks like the rhythm heaven drum lessons
what software would you recommend for making music?
FL Studio if you have cash to burn. OpenMPT if you're broke, but OpenMPT is harder to use.
@@iteachvader thanks man :)
Question:Do you take requests?
Watching these made me realize something. This was mean to be Iteachvader's last video, This one seems lower quality that part one, and this was one of his last uploads before the hiatus. The true purpose of this was to try and pass down his YTPMV skills.
Video suggestion: Canyon.mid but with robotnik
passport.mid but with robotnik
I think I prefer the version with no syncopation.
YTP Video > Music Theory class in college.
This won the race, to my subscribe button.
Please just teach us music theory now.
Not to be that guy, but what program do you use?
Where do you get your soundfonts? Like the ones you used in Objection Funk.
I manually ripped and built that soundfont.
What DAW are you using?
As someone who knows jack fuck about music and musical theory, this stuff is fascinatingly alien to me. I'm so bad with patterns in music, but I try to pick it up as I go along.
Plus I love your poops.
You think I know jack fuck about music theory?
Amazing
1:25 For the last part, you typed "syncopation helps keep a song from feeling too uniform . . . OFFSET them a little bit". So you mean 1:36 is "WITH syncopation" and 1:45 is "NO syncopation", right? Because the former is sounds really offbeat and scattered and the latter sounds uniform.
The former sounds off-beat to you? I actually moved the notes to line up exactly with the beat on the _former_ one. The latter one is more broken up to make it sound less uniform, and more pleasing to the ears.
iteachvader I don’t have music composing experience. Thanks for the explanation.
Your be selling the best album out there dude
Step 1.
Have a degree in music composition.
I don't even have a _basic_ education in music composition, let alone a degree!
What’s your best way to syncopate? Ive tried just doing basic quarters on third and forth notes and I’ve attempted triplets. What works for you?
*M e a n w h i l e I n C a s t l e v a n i a*
i am so sorry but i just HAVE to make a full midi out of that snippet it is a BANGER
EDIT: I've made it and I've had a better idea - I'm gonna expand on this as a base and make an entire soundtrack for a SA3 zone. Frostflame Cavern here I come~
EDIT 2: I've finished, but I can't exactly share it because iteachvader doesn't like that, sorry .^.
When "All together now" came up i KNEW it would be amazing
are all those ytpmvs you make original? is the one in this video yours too? What's the note it's in
Most of them are original. This video, Objection Funk, Robotnik Rock, Getaway Submarine, and Win the Race are all original. Lastly, this tune in the video is in Em7.
@@iteachvader that's impressive, thx I really wanna try to ytpmv this
Thank you I needed it
nice
I'm pretty sure there is a way to overdo it without the product sounding bad.
(I'm talking about black midi)
Without syncopation still sounds funky cos it's mysterious
The no syncopation version sounds like a SNES era menu screen
Which program would you recommend in putting the samples to use?
What do you use to put this stuff together? And what program do you use for music?
I won the race
Nice
That sounds dope.
What the frick I can paint mozart now!! Thanks!
AW YES
I hope a full version song will be uploaded at some point. I would download it in a heartbeat!
My gosh that sounds good you should do something in the music business
Nice, another helpful video!
OMG What is this song name and why does it slap!?
I composed this myself solely for the purpose of this video.
@@iteachvader ah I see. I wish it was extended XD
man you should make more music tutorials
Hear before it hit 1k
Same hear (ba dum tss)
*_PINGAS_*
Also am first just really wanted to point that out
Sorry...
You should be a music teacher
Definitely not.
That is such a lovely tune!
:3
The master at work yet again.
Feel the rythm
Ehh, Syncopation seems like a personal choice rather than a requirement
What program do you use?
FL Studio mainly. I also use OpenMPT for the best quality sound.
@@iteachvader Is it free?
@@DrawsomeDrawer Not even close.
@@iteachvader Yar har fiddle de de, being a pirate is alright with me
@@DrawsomeDrawer I strongly discourage that.
I see this video is a year old but I’m glad to find it. I’ve wanted to make music for a while but really didn’t know how. My music class didn’t even teach this. Thank you!
