I haven't watched the original show, and seeing this I thought that this was a real scene from that cartoon, and the Sonic movie made a reference to that. But in the comments I found that it isn't actually from the show! Very good animation.

After being used as guinea pigs for the last time, Scratch, Grounder, including Coconuts who were overdue for their own vacation teamed up with Sonic and Tails to destroy the device, but not before sucking Robotnik into it.
This is downright incredible, I'm amazed by how well it captures the original show! My favorite part is the way he hops back and forth as he yells, "No apparent way back to Mobius!!"
It isn't that he hates them. They just annoy and aggravate him. He knows they're borderline useless, but there's definitely a sense of attachment. He doesn't view them as machines, but as people. He may be a villain, but he isn't completely evil.
On one hand, the animation and impression is great... on the other hand, if the world wars have taught me anything, it’s that ‘home by christmas’ is delusion at best :p

This gave me reason to think that the heyday of animation in the 90s was due to the fact that the creators were inspired by the plot and style of cartoons of the 40s. And maybe in the near future there will be a new renaissance in which animation of the 90s will be inspired.

When I first discovered this on Twitter, my first thought is that this was unused footage from the show that has been recently discovered and remastered! This is incredible work, you've put such great effort into it! It's one of your best masterpieces in my opinion!
I am surprised you didn't have the "What's the matter with you!" bit, though cause the infliction Jim Carrey did in that bit sounded so close to Mike Pollock Eggman it wouldn't fit this one as much.
Whoever the VA was in this (either you or someone else) did a really good job getting close to the original. Even more surprising is this animation. Uncanny that it's exactly like the old cartoon.

I am surprised you didn't have the "What's the matter with you!" bit, though cause the infliction Jim Carrey did in that bit sounded so close to Mike Pollock Eggman it wouldn't fit this one as much.
I unfortunately had to keep the cartoon within the length of the music, so I had to make cuts here and there for it to fit.

The amount of time it took for me to realize this wasn't original footage was... nonnegligible. (A good thing, to be clear.) Also, if anyone ever gets to wondering if the show really did transcend its origins as a licensed cross-media promotion... well, it's been a quarter century, and here we are, still in appreciation of the aesthetic. Can't beat that.
