- I've posted these clips of the 787B before, but they were part of other Mazda video's.
This video is focussed on the 787 & 787B.
Normally if "Le Mans classic" was held in july this year, there would've been some demo laps with the Mazda 787B. But as you know the event was postponed to 2021.

Some people might never understand this, but some cars' sound can make me emotional, nostalgic, send shivers down my spine just like music...
Same here I when I here The 7878B it reminds me of the 90S when I wast born yet but still I remember watch some of the 1991 24 hours as a kid and when I watched it this was the car I liked and not Schumachers Mercedes ( even tho that was great to)
sounds like you are a turbo virgin lol
@@e.2m2l2 why lol?
@@e.2m2l2 that makes 0 sense at all… the 787 is naturally aspirated
For me nothing beats the 787b sound & unfortunately I doubt we'll hear anything like it again.
Long live the quad rotor
Probably one of the most hated and despised "winners" of Le Man's. The amount of comments on UA-cam trying to take away the sweetness of victory from this car is amazing. Many say the only reason it won was because of the failures of others yet that is the fundamentals an endurance racing car needs. It was the first and only non reciprocating piston engine to win the 24hr. Who cares if it only won once. It won. It took the trophy. Winning is winning. Johnny Herbert was so fatigued after the 24hr race, he never got to the podium and it was many years later before he was actually put back on the podium and presented it on one of the 787B #55 winning anniversary's in France. 🏆
Don't think anyone hates that it won but ya thats why it won Lemans, cause it was reliable, and thats what it takes. It wasn't the fastest car but it was the most reliable and thats what wins endurance races. It was less than successful at qualifying and all of the other races it took part at though.
I don't think anyone with ears could claim to hate it. What's often required though are some carefully chosen words to calm the wankel fanboy/apologists. Just like throwing a bucket of water over noisy, horny cats always does the job.
Straight up
@@natesmith9007 You know what’s interesting is that it could have been much faster had Mazda been able to figure out how to cool the thing down properly, they had to run way less horse power as a result of the heat that the engines made, but knowing Mazda if they had had more time to improve the car like they did with the 767 improving to become the 787B they probably would have been able to figure out a solution so they weren’t down on power, shame that the rules outlawed the car before it could hit its peak… Still it managed to win through superior craftsmanship, and during the 24hours that’s a perfectly respectable way to win… ❤️
Hate this icon?a 'victory era may be but not by many people and today even less
The pause between shifts gives me goosebumps
Let’s hope that it will still be doing demo laps at Le Mans Classic because I was really looking forward to seeing and hearing it screaming in person!🤞
2021, 30th anniversary. I'll be there.
Me too. :)
@@Belgian-Motorsport how loud are these 4 rotor beasts, compared with N/A F1 cars?
One of my fav prototypes ever build for LeMans. Just beautiful and the rotary sound is so unique and wonderful to listen. Sadly I never heard this beauty live
It's a rare seeing big brother 787 out of the garage, but then again it's Goodwood.
If there is one thing i wanna see before i die...
Its the Mazda 787B. Hands down!!
Love this kind of stuff it never gets old thank you so much for posting 👍
All this rotary sweetness, WOW! Thanks for making my day an awesome one.
Hearing this the 787b full song down moussan straight back in the day would have been something to hear, not sure if I spellt that right
It's Mulsane straight or "Hunaudières".
@@Belgian-Motorsport I thought I spellt it wrong lol
I love this car man the sound

MAZDA 787B good !
dude I'm crying :')
amazing mazda supercar old my dream🥰
hope some day, rotary takes definite place, in our world. i see.
If not FIA ban, we probably would see many rotary cars by now. Only reason rotary is "dead" is because they didn't make money from racing to improve it.
Ayo! the MotoGP Legend is Driving the Orange 787b

What model is that silver Mazda with 77 written on it? :)
1992 RX-792, also with a 4-rotor.
おじさんが、制作に、かかわってました。
2:52 wait what theres a 767b and a 787b?
Yes, and also a 757 with a 3-rotor.
When a F1 V10 engine had sex with a superbike engine the result is a 4 rotor screamer.
no high rpm action
I can hear the reason why they won
