At those speeds they all require lots of skill.... Each car would have its own idiosyncrasies so you can't really pick one over the others in my opinion
That mcmurty is wild, looks like its been sped up 😅 The N H run in the McLaren is still my favourite, you can see the bumpy tracks makes it a real handful for him. Amazing drive 👌👌

I definitely don't have the nuts to be driving the McMurtry at the stonewall that fast. One of the few vehicles to convey speed via video, can only imagine what it feels like.
It's probably not as hard to drive as something with winged down force. The whole concept of the faster you go the more grip you have is such a hard skill to master.
Honestly I think that's a cool thing about EVs rather than a drawback. Like sure they're not as loud and exciting, but all that power just being SILENT is a cool thing in itself.

Though the reason I’m not a big fan of formula e is that the cars are supposed to be identical but there is obviously a performance gap in the cars, and there are a lot of other things in the rules that I don’t like. Still, it is fairly entertaining to watch once in a while.

Some are way more visceral than expected, which is great for us car nerds. But the sound of a Tesla tyres seemingly being easily able to drown out a petrol engine Suzuki Swift altogether around town, kind of rubs me the wrong way too.
They sound like tinnitus with the way the gearing works in them. The mcmurty sounds wacky just because the fans are going nuts keeping it glued to the road
The McLaren F1 car was my favorite speed run of all time. I mean, that V10 just screams! I miss that sound. The Speirling one was the most unique. The fan that helps keep the car planted to the ground sounds like a jet going by.
Y'know what, that EP9 is amazing for how quiet it is! Not a sound whatsoever! I'm all for the noise and fun but that stealthiness is worthy of respect!
Many people didn't understand why the ID-R was so much faster the next time round. Apparently they made the battery smaller, since it's a short run anyways. This increased the power to weight drastically and they put together a great run to beat the old F1 car.
I really love that ID.R, it looks gorgeous, it's fast, the color scheme is great and it sounds like a swarm of angry hornets. I wish VW, considering their close partnership with Rimac through their other brands Bugatti and Porsche, would make a streetcar based on the design. The MP4/13 was neat as well. As for the Spierling, it looks like a cartoony Batmobile and it definitely has that pace too, unreal.
I am NOT an EV fan by any stretch of the imagination but that McMurty is just insane up that hill i wonder if it has the battery life for pikes peak it would be stunning there especially if it set a new record .
I believe they are preparing it for pikes peak. It would most certainly set a record there. It is so ridiculous with its grip and acceleration it looks unreal. Almost like you are watching a arcade style racing game.

Mercedes McLaren F1 car was an incredibly voracious and edgy animal on that run. I wanted to keep its powerful wild engine note in my head until the end of time, it was absolutely gorgeous ⚡️
I feel like the McMurty activated a cheat code with its ground effect. Still amazing to see it in action though. Also I was expecting this list to be dominated by Duracell Bunnies so nice to see combustion engines (old ones at that) still sticking it to the new kids.

I mean I know there are some events, but I'm talking F1 or NASCAR level. Maybe once a month, at different tracks, one lap of truth, best car and/or best driver takes the honours. I'd watch it.

Street Circuits for cars, Hill Climbs events going on from amateur to pro level. That should scratch the same itch for most people. Support your local events guys. Graeme Wight Jr’s 2003 run was incredible, we need another more modern British Hillclimb car to come and improve on that, like Alex Summers or something. Could be a serious contender for top spot
Those Pikes Peak cars are nuts. The thing is effectively a purpose built hillclimb machine with a Peugeot shell slapped on top, and yeah that wing looks goofy but it totally needs it.

looking at the Spierling it looks like a joke almost but then is just comically fast. That thing is an absoloute rocket.

Graeme Wight Jr’s 2003 run was incredible, we need another more modern British Hillclimb car to come and improve on that, like Alex Summers or something. Could be a serious contender for top spot

That massive wing on the little Peugeot is almost comical.
Those Pikes Peak cars are nuts. The thing is effectively a purpose built hillclimb machine with a Peugeot shell slapped on top, and yeah that wing looks goofy but it totally needs it.
It's like that McLaren was being driven with a keyboard
