Had a dude do the felony look after I found an ounce of meth in his car. I just pulled out my tazer and explained to him that I'm too old and fat to be running a marathon, and that he would get the juice....
my first "felony look" (in 88) was a high/drunk dude jumping around on top of a cherokee in a bar parking lot. already smashed the windshield, stove in the roof and hood. people standing around watching when I rolled up. he was on the hood so was hoping maybe I could snatch his legs and pull, but wasn't sure how to not get kicked. I saw him look past me and start to flex. I just got out 'don't run bucky' when he tried to jump over me to make the break. he led with his left foot. reflexively I grabbed the ankle as it went over my rt shoulder.
I can still hear the slap/crunch sound of his face and hands simultaneously hitting the asphalt.
I worked security in Canada for over 9 years. I've been in situations where security have said don't do it. And bam shit hits the fan. Full on wrestling match take down. Or guy tries to run. I worked as hospital security, loss prevention, uniform security, event security, and mobile patrol both foot and car.

MuffHam - yup. you can see the wheels turning in their head and the decision click into place. then you're like, "don't do it" and it's like the 'go' button.
it's too bad we can't be proactive anymore. but in court you must be able to show why you took a specific action. you can't say "I saw that look in his eye and knew he was already........."
To all the LEOs and first responders out there, we do appreciate you and you have much more support than you think. Don't let the idiots running around right now discourage you. They will be swept up in the coming months and we sure do appreciate you guys doing it.

I found a video here on UA-cam called the 10 dummest criminals where when I saw it I couldn't stop laughing. In one of the video's these two people went to go break in a building one throws a rock at a window and it bounced back and knocked out his parner lol. So he tries again and knocks himself out. 😂😂.
In another video these two men broke into a house and the guy butt dialed 911 and of course the two criminals were unaware that one of them butf dialed 911 and the operator heard the whole thing and of course they got arrested 😂😂. I laughed uncontrollably for a few minutes. It still cracks me up everytime I watch it 😂😂.

In Texas we call that quick glance a "heat check". On the street it usually indicates they are about to run and inside the jail or when they are facing you it usually indicates they want to fight and are about to swing.
