I plan on building a cart for myself it’ll be a bit different but I’m going with this exact theme. Simple lean but efficient setup! I think this is the way
Thanks for this! I want to build a wall setup, but we are in the middle of looking for a new house...this will be perfect at our rental. Was watching a few of your other videos and noticed you're not too far from me. I'm in Oakwood now, but was off McNeal Rd in Jackson Co for a while, so I know pretty much all the roads you drive... Appreciate you doing what you do...Really helps us out.
That’s awesome I’m right on the Jackson/Hall border off Hwy 60. McNeal is not far from there. Best part about making a cart most everything can be moved to a wall at some point so you already have most of the equipment.
I'd be paranoid near the paint without locking casters. Think I'll use this, with locking casters, to hold detailing gear on bottom two shelves. Top shelf to hold recycling in the garage near kitchen/garage door when stored away.
Casters is a must on anything that rolls for me. At least on one side of the cart if one side is fixed casters. If they all swivel then they should all have locks.
Long time viewer finally about to build one of these carts. I think I’m going to use the vevor welding cart I’ve seen on UA-cam. Question for you though, planning on running the active 2.0, 50ft Uberflex hose, griots DI. Any suggestions on what quick connects I would need for all of this? You seem to have done about every combo. Thx for the advice.
Not sure I would use an Uberflex with the Active they ah e been known not to work well together. If you are building the cart to be connected where you won’t be disconnecting much you really only need quick connects for the pressure washer gun and the input into the DI bypass.
I have done plastic carts in the past and they usually are just too big width wise to fit a small garage and the options are just not as robust as metal. Plus the other big reason is most people prefer metal carts and I myself do as well.
That hose reel looks killer on there. Only thing I’d do is add bigger casters in red 🤷. That’s trivial compared to overall looks and functions great. That foam is a must have 👍. Thanks Keav. Hope you feel better soon.
I’ve got my original cart that is starting to rust. Never buy painted ones get them powder coated. I might take the upgraded casters I have in it and put on this cart.
Curious, why did you not include the sediment and carbon filters on Version 5? Also, the foam tape comes in several sizes, what size did you use (1" x 1")? Thanks!
I will put it on the list. Power cable is shorted to just a few feet. I bring an extension cable to it via a power cable reel. Have to make sure you are using 14 gauge cord if less than 50 foot and 12 gauge if going any longer.
If you took the 2.3 out of the cage it would fit easily without moving the shelf. If you raised it enough it would fit, but might make the second shelf unusable.
You're the only youtuber I see doing reviews for both the Active 2.0 and Grandfalls washers. I'm looking at getting one. Do you have a preference performance-wise? Killer cart setup!
Giraffe Tools is about efficiency and use more for things around the house. When it comes to cars I use my Active. This cart is in the same garage the Giraffe is connected to. I use the Grandfalls to wash my shower in the house. Take the hose right through the window and even to the back porch to clean off. If I can wash my car in my wash bay I roll the cart out and use my Active. Performance wise the Grandfalls can hit a higher PSI for the driveway and the Active has the high flow for rinsing off soap.
Just setup my cart and it is awesome. I tested our water and it is 400 PPM before filtering. Based off reviews I definitely need a 2 stage. Would a prefilter with another max water work but use one sediment and a carbon filter be best?
It can work to help out if you are on city/county treated water they use a lot of chlorine usually and that eats resin. 400ppm you will be refilling often so have refills ready.
I just acquired a steal cart that’s two tiers, it says U.S government on it. I was told it was built WW2 error. Anyway, I put hose reel on bottom and I put pressure washer on the bottom too. Thanks for the cool ideas
@@dini1046 Nice, I like the really heavy well built ones they glide better on bumpy surfaces like my swisstrax. the cheaper ones rattle like crazy, but my heavy one just rolls without issue.
I just used my cheap drill bits and hoped they wouldn’t break since your trying to make a hole bigger to get the distance between the bolts just right. Some holes you have to make bigger to fit the bolts as well.
are you planning to make a version 6? with a car that is more widely accessible for purchasing? currently have a ryobi 1800, planning to upgrade to the kranzle 1322tst in the future with a hose reel mounted
I’m thinking about it, but every time Inoick a cart that is available it ends up becoming unavailable. I want to do a cool enclosed setup with drawers using a tool box.
Problem with the Waterdrop is you need a wider cart or a different place to mount as it is wider than the footprint without the hose connections. It will still work just have to be careful when moving the cart around.
I don’t think it will ever be on Amazon again. That was a one time deal that I got lucky on for $100. They are usually $600 and I found one that is close to what I have here www.globalindustrial.com/p/ct-h3-steel-adjustable-shelf-utility-cart-35-x-20-800-lb-capacity?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8rW2BhAgEiwAoRO5rO4iZCsaVJbkimIfRg28lz1ZV0SXqSeGVhBBr4wCNO_W4lxYn16nIhoCA8MQAvD_BwE

Its probably the best purchase I ever made. i got it for $99 on Amazon. Looked ot be a return pallet box maybe and somebody just trying to get it sold. Got really lucky. Sucks though as at the time I thought it was available. I do much better research now before really showcasing something nobody can really obtain.
Awesome setup as always. Have you ever tried replicating the same setup on "US General 5 drawer" tool cart from Harbor Freight. My eyes are on that as a one drawer for everything, including drying towels, applicators, etc., Please let me know your thoughts if you have already tried one out.
Kaev, I have a question and you are the best person to ask this. If you built bucket fillers connected to your wall set, would you ever had them connected after Cr Spotless? Or, do you need deionized water in buckets?
I would because you might as well have the option. DI water mixes and foams better with soap and less contaminants on your contact wash. If you set it up right just put the hose filler spicket past the DI so you can choose.
@Cars With Keav thank you very much! I already have newest Giraffe Tools PW and Cr on the wall, figuring out how to run the piping. You started all that! 🙈😎 🤜🤛
For that setup yes hose to PW then to DI just for final rinse and sometimes I have used for foaming. My wall setup I use it most of the time. Mainly because the CR spotless can handle more flow and you don’t have to change resin as often.
Just standard Garden Hose thread quick disconnects. The ends of the Max Water the threads are NPT 3/4 so I use an adapter that goes from NPT to Garden Hose Thread.
That one probably 150 gallons, but it will vary big time based on chemicals in the water and the tds. Mine is only 60ppm so I get more gallons than most.
@@CarsWithKeav thank you for the response. I finally decided for the Spotbye. Single stage with 560 gal at 50ppm. Where I live water is really hard at 360 ppm and that's with a whole house filter. I hope that by adding a prefilter I will be able to cut that in half and save on resin.
Unfortunately the cart with double sided pegboard is no longer available. Any idea where I can get a second pegboard? I went ahead and ordered the single sided one. Thanks
What is the connection you use in the reel to hook up the pressure washer hose? I have same as yours but i cant figured out yet how to make it without kink the hose
@@Carlos.Rivera yes. Partly why some reels seem cheaper than others or they forgot to put it on there. Sometimes they change their product and don’t change the pictures.
Just looking at the Max Water 2 stage system, they state: "The system flow rate including 2 DI filters is 0.75 to 1 GPM Maximum" which would not meet the min requires of 2GPM for the Active pressure washer unit.
I use it for the final rinse with the pressure washer turned off. Just flowing the hose water through it. Maintains 0ppm no issue for me. If water is bad it might not keep up though,
@@CarsWithKeav Oh that's a smart idea. I don't use any filters at all. I simply have a 5 gallon water tank on top of my HF cart that sits a foot above my Active for gravity feeding. I then fill with water from a Zero Water filter pitcher or buy cheap Target 1 gallon distilled water which gives me 0 TDS water. It's much cheaper this way and it works great with the pressure washer on for a final rinse. I use about 2 gallons per car.
@@SukSquezeBangBlo nice I assume the gravity feed has to be 2ppm since the Active is not self priming. I prefer the pressure washer off and the black detergent tip. Makes a nice rain type pattern for rinsing.
