- I've been trying to figure out the best pressure washer mounting system for my new home garage shop set up. I really love the way a wall mounted pressure washer looks, but I don't think a wall mount would be the right solution for my needs. I want my pressure washer and my Spot Free water system to be able to move with me! So, I think i found the Ultimate solution for the pressure washer detailing cart of my dreams. This could be a great option for those of you who like a fixed mounting solution but also need it to be movable. Or if you are renting your home and don't to mount it on a wall when you may have to move at some point... ENJOY!!!

PEX line was the best choice, great job
I like the more affordable and practical DI water concepts that you have come up with. Not everyone can afford OG spec detailing equipment. Maybe you should try to sell these DI carts without the pressure washer. Dang! You have alot of short surfboards. I retired my 6'2" thrusters many years ago. I'd have to use a log now.
Do you have a local water cleaning plant or shop where you live?? I rent a commercial unit for 23 dollars a month and 150 for a resin refill which usually lasts me a year sometimes more considering my home water is already somewhat clean!
We really don't need water softners in our area. The worst I've ever seen was in AZ.
Obsessed Garage did it years ago with Jay Leno’s setup.
Awesome setup. Looks great and functional
I didn't know I needed a cart until now. Thanks a lot!😂
I just re-watched this. What an awesome setup 😎
Appreciate you showing the bypass system and offering 2 suggestions for accomplishing it! I definitely want to create a similar system when I get my updated mobile system ready. Thanks again for the great ideas and content Josh!
Saw something similar on Jay’s garage. Both look nice.
Awesome video, and this inspired me to build my own cart. I'm taking a slightly different approach, but incorporating the PW, hose reel, and DI system into a mobile unit is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Going to get this cart, you the best giving us so many different options! 🙌🏼✨
Nice video Josh, I made a similar cart with the Standard Dual Resin Tanks using a wheeled ridgid toolbox for home use. I noticed that on your bypass valves you only need to open and close the input valves and the output valves can always remain open. Thanks again for another exceptional video.
Absolutely awesome. Thanks for sharing. I have no need for this but now I want one…
Great idea, I like it, thanks Josh 👍😁
Awesome set up, a breakdown in cost to build this cart would have been a good bonus.
Thats a great idea. Ill add it all up and do another video!!
Almost 2 racks 😅
@@imjoshvdo you have a video on how you mounted your hose reel and the pressure washer to the top of the cart and what hardware you used? Also do they vibrate at all or move around when in use.
Great video! Awesome setup I’ve been trying to design one as well! You gave me some great ideas. I was thinking of using schedule 40 pvc with inline shut offs for the bypass.
Love the look of that electric bike. It looks fun👍
Great choice with this option! I was tempted to do something like this but never had the room or budget to do this. Maybe in the fiture I'll run a very similar setup as mine is only half of what this is without any drawers and cabinets.
Great video Josh. Thanks
Thank you!!
Interesting concept. Looks like it will be quite versatile 👍✌️☮️
Thanks 👍👍
Right on josh looks great way to go 👍
Thanks I appreciate it!!
Awesome, Love it 👍🏽
McMaster Carr is a great source for everything you might need for your build. Use a check valve on the outlet of your DI system and you won’t have to close a valve (a ball check is pretty compact)
I came to the comments to recommend a check valve as well.
Excellent setup. I recently did something like this, mounting my deionizing tank on wheels with all the connections and bypass valves. I chose 3 way adapters with larger levers, making things much quicker and easier.
That awesome! The larger 3 way valves are a great choice. I wanted to figure out a budget option for people so that’s why I opted for the splitters but the 3 way valves do make things much easier
Super dope. Well done. Dang!
Thanks so much!
I made a cart like this over the winter with a cart from Lowe’s, the active 2.0, cox reel and hose and Spotless DIW-10. I love it! Wish I could post a pic of it here.
Awesome!!
Nice setup. I made myself a cart to roll all of my wash gear to the driveway also, but made it so the DI tanks and PW stay in the garage. I plan to make a sound-isolating box for the PW soon.
With mine I bought some cheap plastic drawer sets from target and built a cart around them with shelves for products and mounted a retractable hose reel on the side. The drawers hold all of my towels and cleaning tools.
Rolling everything out to the driveway really speeds up the wash process versus running back and forth to the garage.
Awesome!!! Leaving the di tanks stationary and just taking the cart makes a lot of sense! I wanted them on the cart for myself just in case I need it in the backyard to clean windows or something
I approve of the color coordination 😉
haha thanks! Looks good right?
Great video!!! Thanks!!
Glad you liked it!
Looks sweet!
Thanks!
@@imjoshv 13:18 your video to connect the hose reel to the 2.0 is set to private. Do you have another one showing how to set up?
Thanks again
That’s awesome!!
Thanks!
Very nice!
Thanks!
Pretty cool!!
Thank you!!
I've kinda got something like this setup. I'm using the harbor freight 1 drawer tool cart.
I basically did this but with a poly service cart. For DI I used a series of whole house filters with multiple stages of resin and membrane filters.
awesome! Whole house fulters dont typically take it all the TDS all the way down but it should still make its much better. Do you know how many ppm your water had and how many you are at after the filters?
What size pex line did you use? Great video. Thank you.
I bought the small welding cart from HF and use it for all of my Chemicals, and microfiber towels, and the side hooks I use for my ego dryer, some wheel and tire brushes and my DeWalt cordless water sprayer (I won’t call it a high pressure washer, since it only goes up to around 600psi) that I use for final rinse. I fill a chemical/weed killer back pack unit with DI or purified water and store it on the little bottom ledge, and it holds approx 4.5 gallons. Hook up the DeWalt and the very final rinse, I use this as I could leave it and not even dry the car without water spots (like I do often with my truck) or if it is my baby (911) I will then use my ego to dry and followed by a quick whip down with a drying aide. I still have my pressure washer and reels in my garage, mounted to my wall. No need to change that as I have plenty of Uber flex hose.
I’m in the process of setting up something with the same cart. But I’m planning on mounting pressure washer inside the door that flips up and use a on/off switch mounted somewhere else to turn pressure washer on and off.
loving the idea of this, was there any additional noise with the pressure washer being mounted on that sheet metal though? Saw it looked like you used some straps, but didn't know if you used anything else.
NEED YOUR HELP!!!!! the center portion with the clear tube, can you show what you cut and how much? i need to narrow mine down a bit and not sure where it is safe to cut. Love your videos, and have been taken a lot of your recommendations for products. keep up the great work!!!
Do you still get the spots that you mentioned in the earlier vid when the TDS gets to 8 or does the On The Go system do better than the rental? Thanks
What adapters were used for the hose into the Coxreels swivel inlet, and from the Coxreels outlet into the Uberflex hose? The specs from Coxreels aren't very clear on what these fitting specs are. Thanks!
Im interested to see how its gonna work when you change the resin out
How has the On The Go Deionizer been working for you? I’m getting ready to buy the standard based on your video. Still considering the CR for the cheaper wall mount set up.
Hey Josh I was thinking , can you make a video of taking 2 of the same cheaper scale pressure washers together and run them into a single hose line to see what kind of results you get.
Looks great!! Idk if I would call it a diy solution because of how much money this setup would cost.
josh, you absolutely killed it on this idea. my only question is there any type of vibrating noise coming from the washer being mounted on top?
Thank you!! I strapped it down pretty tight and it comes with rubber pads on the feet of the active 2.0, So far no noise. Over time it might loosen a bit so I’ll keep checking and retighten if needed
Great build! If using one of the smaller hose reels and the Active 2.0 slid over... would that offer enough room to cut a hole in the top over the storage cabinet to put a bucket like a Carolina Detailing Cart? 🤔
It might.. I’ll take a look cause that would be a cool addition to the cart
How did you put the hose on the reel? Was it easy to do?
Hi Josh, System look good. What would be the process from replacing the resin? Do you have to disconnect all the hosing?
Honestly I’m not sure cause I haven’t had to do it yet. But I did have to redo connections a few times during set up to get it the way I wanted and it’s pretty easy to disconnect to get there tanks out if needed!
What’s the longest hose you have found that you can use with the active without loss of performance and damage to the system? I have it and love it currently with a 50’ flexzilla. Would like to upgrade to a 100’, being completely mobile that extra 50’ would be handy.
I think he once hooked up 200 feet of hose and found no loss in pressure or GSM. It just took a few seconds to pressurize the hose.
@@johndoe6032 thanks man, much appreciated!
Josh I was on that same boat for awhile trying to figure out the hoses and connections spent like 200 in parts ended up buying a bypass designed for the DI tank instead 😂
Yea they sell one for about $90. I spent more than that for sure in all the extra parts but I was fed to try to piece something together so I could let people know how to build it… now that I did it I think I’m in around 25 for parts!
Why did you choose the dual stage di rather then the adam’s or on the go 1 tank solution that you have? Doesn’t the single tank yield more gallons of di then the dual stage system? I could’ve sworn I remember seeing in your comparison video of all the different types of DI that the Adams branded or the on the go one tank solution yielded the most bang for your buck for the resin and gallons per use so I’m curious why you chose the two-stage method for this cart?
I think you should make theses and sell em.....gotta be a great market especially in varying sizes
I'm interested in getting a filtration system since the tap water by me leaves terrible spots. Just wondering how long before you have to replace the filter media? Thanks!
It depends on the TDS (total dissolved solids) in your water now. But the dual tank system is by far the cheapest way to get spot free water. I did a whole video breaking down the costs and how many gallons of water you can expect to get from these tanks. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/OKnBEUPbEjI/v-deo.html
Can you give us a list of the PEX product used?
What is the ppm going in and the ppm coming out?
Have you been hearing of any problems with the Active 2.0? Mine began to have a burning smell and send white smoke out of the exhaust after 7 months of home use. Today it would not turn on. I called Active and they immediately agreed to replace it, but now I've lost confidence. Any thoughts?
Wow no I haven’t had any issues like that… i know it’s rated for 200 hours. But even if it’s at that amount of use i don’t think it would do that. It’s great to know there customer service took care of it though…
WAS IT JUST ME OR DID I GET A ADVERTISEMENT OF JOSH BEFORE HIS VIDEO ❤
An advertisement from who? I don’t think I’m in any ads haha
@@imjoshv maybe i’m trippin but i thought it was you and i skipped the ad 😭
Personnaly I would remove the bottom door on the left and mount the Active 2.0 in there. Drill some holes in the back for proper air circulation and mount some bottle separator on top to have all the products handy but in separators so they don't fall over.
Bonus, most of the weight would be on the big rubber wheels so you get less of that "stuck on tie-wrap" effect.
Good idea!!
So how long do you think it takes to purge the regular water out of the fifty foot hose when changing to the DI water ?
That’s a great question and I didn’t measure that but I would assume a few seconds and it is good.
Does it matter which tank water goes first? Do you know which resin will do you need to exchange first? Apparently, they wear off not evenly.
They list them as stage 1 and stage 2 so I run it that way. I’m not sure if it would make a difference if you swapped the tanks
Genius
👍
How heavy is this welding cart
Doesn’t PEX fail if exposed to UV light for some time? I’ve always heard not to leave PEX in the sunlight.
Great question and im not sure but this will be stored inside and only brought out when needed. But i will keep an eye on that!
What is cost rate presure machine i am in indian
PEX was the way to go
How would i measure my water hardness?
PPM meter
I’d put the 2.0 in that cubby on the bottom left.
I'd replace the second 3 way valve with a one way check valve.
thats funny.. ive been working on a cart like this for like 3 weeks.. all of a sudden, theres a youtube video on this.. still a bit different, i have a 30 gallon water tank with DI..
Also, do you really just let the car air dry after the DI rinse? Don't blow off a majority of water with a leaf blower or something?
You dont have to, but i personally do hit it really quick with a twist loop drying towel just to speed up the drying time and absorb the bulk of the water
They are a diverting valve
👍👍
That makes a lot more sense than a 3 way valve…
Weight?
It’s pretty heavy ha, but it’s on wheels
Thanks for taking my idea from my video
Ha I just watched your video! The smaller/cheaper cart is a great option for the single mixed tank.. good work!
@@imjoshv I appreciate your videos....... Blessing to you and your family
U.V. Light is bad for pex.
Yep that’s true, but it’s in the garage 99% of the time. The blue just looked to good !
For 500 bucks ill carry all my shit 😂
Ha fair enough. I think it could be done for much less with a different cart
I have my own business I’m getting a lot of hits on my Google page but no clients wonder if you could help me out
