I love greens, but I never liked the soily taste of spinach, so my #1 daily greens is Komatsuna, a cruciferous vegetable. Komatsuna has a more clean, lighter, fresher, non-soily taste compared to spinach, and much lower oxalate. Its great.

Dr Brooke Goldner says that there is no scientific information that shows using a blender damages the fiber in the food. She has a number of articles you can read and listen to on line on that subject. Thousands of people around the world have healed from lupus and autoimmune diseases and EVERYTHING else by following her plan. All free info. No money involved. In fact she recently told the story about a cardiologists who sends his patients to her because his patients got well faster with her eating protocol. Lol. She also says you can eat the food or drink the food. My favorite go to food is raw broccoli dipped in Costco organic guacamole which comes in individual serving containers. Organic broccoli in a precut bag at Costco. A lot of my food comes from costco. Most of my food is raw uncooked. Dr Goldner recommends uncooked foods for healing. Cooking destroys the nutrients and enzymes in the veggies and fruits. Veggies by far have the most nutrients. If you have healed can slowly introduce some cooked foods to see how you do. If symptoms come back, back to the raw foods for a longer period of time and try again later. Don’t forget a gallon of water a day plus ground flax or chia seeds or flax oil for your Omega 3s. Here is a thought to reduce the risk of Calcium Oxalate kidney stones. According to The British Journal of Nephrology PMC6533969, CaOx "crystallized with greatest size, number, and total mass at pH 4.0 and least crystallized at pH 8.0." So my take is to drink a lot of water and avoid acidic foods (e.g. soda and meat) while eating high oxalate foods.

I've read that there's bacteria in some people's guts that help break down the oxalates. Which I guess is why some people don't develop kidney stones, despite eating tons of spinach and other high oxalate greens.
Perhaps one day there will be a probiotic to help with this so that we can all eat lots of spinach and reap the benefits, and not have to deal with unfortunate side effect of kidney stones.

Saute garlic and onions in olive oil and butter ,add cleaned spinach with seasonings and stir until soft. Worry less about the oxalates if you eat spinach in moderation and focus more on preparing it deliciously . If its delicious you will want to eat it more often. I love Dr Greger, but he seems to be contradicting himself from his previous video on the subject. I see the title says “new study” but I don’t see a lot of new evidence in the studies he’s showing in his more recent video. Dr. Goldner points out that meat consumption and dehydration are actually the main culprits for kidney stones and that those who are genetically predisposed will be so regardless of dose (ie could develop them even on lower doses). So I wonder if those of us who have happily been eating massive amounts of raw spinach, chard and beet greens for months or years, avoiding animal products and staying well hydrated, can happily assume this is not an issue for us? In the video a cup a day is said then at the end a pound a day is said. I've never eaten a pound a day of any vegetable in my life and that's including multiple vegetables in a days time. At 54 years, 5 foot 3, I weigh 103 lbs and maintain that with about 500 calories a day and have for years (calories are a fraud made up by man anyway).
