One more I thought of while typing. Natalie Cole from her tribute album to her father, "that Sunday, that summer". Nice sax solo with her vocal there too. Sorry, they keep coming to me. Same Natalie Cole album, the song "tenderly". The only thing is with this is, on the album it's the middle song of a 3 song medley, but for listening, all 3 songs are still beautiful.

Amber, never hide your smile. This is why I love you guys. Your whole playlist is what I grew up on and still listen to. Keep on Rockin'. I have been a fan since Day 1!
Oh, my God! I love when young people discover these classic. I love to see their genuine reaction when they listen every melody with so much quality, with instrument so fine played, no autotune... it's only the talent that old school created at 80s and 90s.
"School" from their earlier album Crime of the Century is an absolute must listen to song. The whole album is brilliant, produced by same producer who worked with Pink Floyd
The song “Crime of the Century” itself is also incredibly moving, especially the last instrumental section that starts with just the piano chords, then repeats and builds to the fade-out. Amber will probably cry. Rob might too, given how much he loves piano. 🎹
Rodger Hodgson is the lead singer's name .. he wrote most of their masterpieces .. if you want to hear a real EPIC, listen to 'Fool's Overture' .. if you're ready :)
I love Roger as well but please don't discount Rich Davies. Super Tramp has two lead singers and if you google 'songs written by Davies"...you will be pleasantly surprised.
@@dranderson6071 Oh, I agree 100%. And I prefer Roger over Rick , but It was certainly a joint effort on the hits until towards the split and the end . The live concerts show it very clearly when they take turns being the lead vocalist.
Now imagine being in high school, hanging with your friends, radio blaring, and a song like this comes on, and you're all just there, grooving out to it. I didn't appreciate it then, but I'm sure thankful now for the experience. It's the soundtrack of my past.
Both Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies really understand the Human Psyche..put to lyrics. They deeply wrote about serious psychological pain and joy. Almost like no other Musicians in the Industry. The band found a way to relate to the youth and common man of every generation. Not only that but they helped us survive and navigate through it all. That's what their music has meant to the world of listeners..who genuinely love them. ❤️
Roger Hodgson was sent away to boarding school in England, and that's where he was taught to be logical, etc. I ws at the same school, but ten years after Supertramp. I have all their albums.
I remember back in the eighties when I was a kid someone in my family had bought the Breakfast in America album and my older sister, brother and I sang along to the whole album each having our own parts and it was a memory I treasure to this day. Later on in my life I realized that the lyrics to this song reflect a lot of my life especially the part about being sent away as when I was a teen I was put into an inpatient program for mental health issues, and it means so much more to me now. I love your reactions to these videos of songs that mean so much to me.
I got that Breakfast in America album, back when it first came out, in the late seventies. I think it's one of the greatest albums ever made. And this was my favorite song on it. It really touched me deeply. Not many songs do that. But that one did. Glad you two enjoyed it so much.
@@rhinehold4268 oh my God me too!!!! Bat out of hell came out when I was 13 yrs old and fell in love. I found Goodbye Stranger in 79 when I was 15. Fell in love again. I started singing in a Rock and Roll band when I was 17. We had a once in a lifetime experience that is gone forever and I am so glad inwas there.
I have watched a lot of Rob Squad videos where I know that sax is going to kick in, and I watch them just to see Amber explode in delight when it does, she doesn't know it's coming and to see that genuine joy is a great watch
Hi guys, 4 original members. Songwriters were Rick Davies & the high pitch voice is the amazing Roger Hodgson. Rodger gave up the business to concentrate on his family. He's back now though! Logical song line, they sent me away to be sensible, logical etc... was about his parents sending him to boarding school. His Dad wouldn't let him touch his guitar but, gave him it when he left for school. 🍀🍀🍀🙏🍀🍀🍀
every time, when I hear this song, I remember to me end of the teenage years, end of the 80s. "There are times when all the world's asleep The questions run too deep, For such a simple man" Exectly What I felt. Weekends evenings, when I sat with my friends and discussed the meaning of life... I think a lot of people know, what I mean...
That sax solo is a perfect counterpoint to all the heaviness that led up to it. I love the sax. And the castanets interspersed in it. You rarely hear them in pop music. Supertramp were a group that knew how to be fun and joyful and silly in their music while being very introspective and sometimes dark in the lyrics. It’s a full emotional rollercoaster ride with them
Did you guys hear him say 1 2 3 ..5?! Thought for sure you'd say something there! Great reaction Amber. Girly girl reaction. Innocent, Open, Playful. That's why we love watching you two. Always a joy.
You'll want to hit the following Supertramp masterpieces: "School," "Hide In Your Shell," "Rudy," "Crime Of The Century," "Soapbox Opera," "The Meaning," "Easy Does It / Sister Moonshine," "Give A Little Bit," "Just Another Nervous Wreck," and... if you can handle it... their opus "Fool's Overture." Supertramp is AWESOME... and I'm so glad you're enjoying the journey!!
@@johnmavroudis2054 else their first album, just throw them in there one by one. All songs are worth it’s own listen. Once I got bitten by the Supertramp bug in the 70s there were no return or looking back
Born in the 60's, learned to love music in the 70's, teens & adult in the 80's. Best generation EVER experiencing all that amazing music. Such a joy to watch you two discover it too. I get to experience the joy vicariously thru you two.
I am the same age as you. And I really sorry for my children growing up with rap and excessively auto tuned pop. And then, some days, I hear my youngest daughter playing Leonard Cohen or Louis Armstrong or Edith Piaf or something in her room, and then I think there is hope for them yet.
Same, same. We were blessed with so much great music. The 70s (and early eighties) I could listen to the radio stations covering all the various styles of popular music and enjoyed most all of it. While I've enjoyed lots of music from later decades, listening to the popular music on the radio has never been quite the same since then.
O M G! When Amber hears that sax and gets so excited, it made my whole dang day! She is so full of joy in that moment and I loved it. I have played that part 10 times now and it always makes me smile. Love you Amber! I actually love you both and watch all your reactions. They are so in-depth and spot-on! Thank you!

I have had this track on my favourites since I was a girl in the 70s..it brings tears to my eyes to see young people react to it today, the way I did back then... love you guys. More please?
Sounds like you like Supertramp. Such a huge band back in the 70's - magnificent sold out concerts in stadiums. Great effects production and their music and lyrics just transported people with a smorgasbord of sounds. Keep listening to their work...

Amber's reaction to the horn part of the song was priceless! I watch this over and over again! The lead vocalist is named Rick Davies.
yeah, there's no other band like Supertramp. They're more than just a band, they're more like an orchestra. One of my favorites and wish I was around in their prime to be able to see them live
I have watched this one reaction multiple times now. And it sure does the heart good to see you both loving the music we grew up with. The Logical Song is my favorite from Supertramp, and their music is simply amazing. Watching your pure joy at discovering this classic music, Jordan, Amber you all help bring people together and this is a priceless quality. Being dismayed by the state of the current music industry, your channel helps restore my and others the joy of how music brings us together. Thank you!
They are soooo good! I’m glad you’re diving deeper into them. Try “Bloody Well Right” next. Waiting for that sax to drop for Amber’s reaction, did not disappoint 🤗
:-) !!! I’m glad you love this! What impressed me when this came out was how crisp and clean their sound was on old fashioned radio! Then when I got the album, it was the cleanest sounding, best engineered album I had ever heard to that point! It even made my low tech analog stereo sound great! That’s why I fell in love, in addition to the awesome songs, singing, and instrumentation too! Hooray! Peace and love you guys!
I loved how Amber lit up when the horns kicked in. It is a joy watching you discover these songs that I grew up with. It is as if I am hearing it for the first time. I had a ‘mix tape’ of ELO and Breakfast in America that I played non stop. Please please discover ‘Lord is it mine’
I can't even describe the joy at watching Amber's reaction to the sax solo... PRICELESS comes to mind. Loved this reaction so much. I'm so happy that I grew up when I did.... This was like high school for me.
I saw them in concert in May of 1976 finishing my Junior year of HS. Instead of the Prom I took my girlfriend to this show. Blown away! Speechless!! Even In The Quietest Moments had yet to be released in the States yet they closed with Fools Overture.
Very poignant lyrics in this. Amber nailed it from the get go. It's a story about "loss of innocence", and all the so called knowledge that we learn as we grow older in order to survive in a modern world. Breakfast In America, it's a classic and there's not one crap song in it.
I'm sorry...when Amber hears the horns and throws up her hands.... its one of the most beautiful sights I've seen in ages. Her sheer joy is angelic and so pure.
Best song ever
I agree such a smart band, you can play an album and want to hear a particular song’ before you know it the albums over..
The song “Crime of the Century” itself is also incredibly moving, especially the last instrumental section that starts with just the piano chords, then repeats and builds to the fade-out. Amber will probably cry. Rob might too, given how much he loves piano. 🎹
@@JohnBrooking4 agreed, love it as well
I know, that producer is dope city, he does something with the dynamics that can only be found on a few albums, easy to tell!
The 70's was a great time. So much great music. Supertramps' Breakfast in America was their breakthrough album.
In Germany it was "Crime Of The Century". Best songs: School & Hide in your shell. 😯😁👍🏼
They are from Manchester, England.
@@robert.manhattan9629 Most definitely...there were a number of songs on that album that were signatures.
@@tradeladder146 Except for the drummer...from Los Angeles.
I love seeing Amber listening to the lyrics so deeply and then the Sax hit!
Thats what music needs to cause...feelings, joy, amusement. I still dont understand how musicians forgot this 😢😢
Rodger Hodgson is the lead singer's name .. he wrote most of their masterpieces .. if you want to hear a real EPIC, listen to 'Fool's Overture' .. if you're ready :)
What a perfect choice mate.
I love Roger as well but please don't discount Rich Davies. Super Tramp has two lead singers and if you google 'songs written by Davies"...you will be pleasantly surprised.
@@Newfie-zc7ug I love Rick but Rodger took them to the next level
@@dranderson6071 Oh, I agree 100%. And I prefer Roger over Rick , but It was certainly a joint effort on the hits until towards the split and the end . The live concerts show it very clearly when they take turns being the lead vocalist.
My favorite version of Fool's Overture is with Rodger Hodgson's and orchestra after he left Supertramp.
You’ll need to do more. They have a very large library. Very unique awesome sound.
A great English band made up of world class musicians!!! Roger has a unique and amazing voice. Enjoy!!
Now imagine being in high school, hanging with your friends, radio blaring, and a song like this comes on, and you're all just there, grooving out to it. I didn't appreciate it then, but I'm sure thankful now for the experience. It's the soundtrack of my past.
Goodbye stranger is another great song from these guys!
Spot on and I would add their musical production, unbelievable. For they are up there with the Beatles. Top 5 of all time.
In this song the lead vocal is Roger Hodgson. It was written by him and Richard Davies. This was a great band!
Although their songs were usually co-written, this song was written solely by Roger Hodgson.
@@toddausmus7639 Thanks Todd!
I got that Breakfast in America album, back when it first came out, in the late seventies. I think it's one of the greatest albums ever made. And this was my favorite song on it. It really touched me deeply. Not many songs do that. But that one did. Glad you two enjoyed it so much.
I consider it, along with Bat out of Hell, the best full albums from beginning to end that was ever made...
So enjoyed your reaction! Thank you made my day!!! Smiling ear to ear😊🥰😍
Amber's reaction at 4:30 has made my day!❤
WOW!!! I loved Amber's reaction to the sax. Such an innocent, massive reaction to this. Keep it up guys!
She performs beautifully. 🤷🏻♀️
every time, when I hear this song, I remember to me end of the teenage years, end of the 80s. "There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep, For such a simple man" Exectly What I felt.
It’s a full emotional rollercoaster ride with them
To see Amber’s reaction when the sax blew in was brilliant. Glad you enjoyed the song.
I love me some Supertramp! I have never seen anyone so happy to hear horns as Amber, love it!
Did you guys hear him say 1 2 3 ..5?! Thought for sure you'd say something there! Great reaction Amber. Girly girl reaction. Innocent, Open, Playful. That's why we love watching you two. Always a joy.
Great “1984” reference. Don’t question what the 4th number is if you’re told it’s 5.
Hey, that's the way I count.
Lol😊
You'll want to hit the following Supertramp masterpieces: "School," "Hide In Your Shell," "Rudy," "Crime Of The Century," "Soapbox Opera," "The Meaning," "Easy Does It / Sister Moonshine," "Give A Little Bit," "Just Another Nervous Wreck," and... if you can handle it... their opus "Fool's Overture." Supertramp is AWESOME... and I'm so glad you're enjoying the journey!!
No "Dreamer"?! You're weird. :)
@@geoffos42 lol. That's fine. Throw that brilliant pop song in there, too!
Give a Little Bit is a great song.
Don't forget Asylum
@@johnmavroudis2054 else their first album, just throw them in there one by one. All songs are worth it’s own listen. Once I got bitten by the Supertramp bug in the 70s there were no return or looking back
That’s what I call a reaction! I love you guys. The first time I heard Supertramp, in 1975, I was blown away.
Same!
Absofrickinglutely!,
Me too!
Thank you!
The whole "Breakfast In America" album is a production & arrangement masterpiece - my personal favourite is Goodbye Stranger. Loved your reaction 🎶🤩👍
I am a 62 year old long haired white boy and that song was an absolute BLAST!!! Me and my gale just love to dance, party and_____ to this one FAR OUT!!!
Oh my!!! I LOVED your reaction to this song so much!! This is my favorite Supertramp songs. I'm so happy you heard it! You woke the kids up!! Love you both! 💕🕊
How can anybody not just downright love Amber? She got the music in her!
This has got to be the best reaction video of all because of this family. ❤
The Questions Run So Deep For Such A Simple Man...🎶🔥🌹🎵💞❤️
We already loved the song, but Ambers's reaction to the horns warranted a few more watchings of this video. You guys are fantastic.
Oh my gosh Amber - that was PURE JOY when that horn blew! I am loving this reaction!
Actually, Roger Hodgson is singing lead on this one.
yeah, there's no other band like Supertramp.
Thank you!
My late brothers favorite song!! So true.
Don’t ever hide that smile, it’s good to see your true reaction! 😊
Superior musicians. Thanks for playing this one.
They are soooo good! I’m glad you’re diving deeper into them. Try “Bloody Well Right” next. Waiting for that sax to drop for Amber’s reaction, did not disappoint 🤗
They are great! The reaction was perfect. I’m patiently waiting for them to hear the sax in Us and Them by Pink Floyd 😉😊
I love watching these two young people enjoying the music I grew up with in England what a privilege to have had this wonderful period in my life.
Ho yea! Lord is mine is ufffff
Do you nou it was a bacsound of an a bank comercial here in Mexico???
A little big song
I can't even describe the joy at watching Amber's reaction to the sax solo... PRICELESS comes to mind. Loved this reaction so much. I'm so happy that I grew up when I did.... This was like high school for me.
I saw them in concert in May of 1976 finishing my Junior year of HS. Instead of the Prom I took my girlfriend to this show. Blown away! Speechless!! Even In The Quietest Moments had yet to be released in the States yet they closed with Fools Overture.
"There are times when all the world's asleep..."
Thats a HARD BAND to deny!!! 💯😎
Worse than ever now
@@jodyjackson5475 mind blowingly so
Very poignant lyrics in this. Amber nailed it from the get go. It's a story about "loss of innocence", and all the so called knowledge that we learn as we grow older in order to survive in a modern world. Breakfast In America, it's a classic and there's not one crap song in it.
