The GAZELLE (not Gazelles) did not have a canopy swapped with an AH64 Apache. The canopy was custom made for the GAZELLE and put the helicopter dangerously overweight which is why many scenes were done with radio control helicopters.
Yeah, I believe it was a custom canopy modeled after the Apache. It probably would have been expensive, and dangerous, to use a real one. Yikes! Also, thanks for the for the correction. We're going to update our article.

Screaming Mimi's manufacturer is pronounced Sikorsky. I think you might have a typo that you're trying to pronounce. That paticular S-58 is the DT which has a turbine engine instead of the radial.

Please pronounce aircraft names and manufacturers properly, notably “Siroksy” and “gazelles.” And why show random photos of other helicopters, while discussing specific models?
I saw the Airwolf and Ernest Borgnine in the Summer of 1984 at Desert Center, CA next to I-10.
Wow! That must have been amazing! Was it the real, original Airwolf?

You forgot 240-Robert, probably because it used a similar Hughes 500C helicopter.
Hmmm... We'll have to look into that. Thanks for the tip!

Thank for the correction. Yes, trying to pronounce misspellings rarely ends well :( We're going to update the spelling in the article. Great catch!

It's Sikorsky, not Sirosky.

Complete with the iconic theme song showing schematic graphics...the pulse accellerates every time the theme song starts 😁

The name "Sirosky" is wrong, instead the correct name is Sikorsky. You need to go recheck your spelling, sir.
You are right about that!
Yeah, over-reliance on spell check realized!
Blue Thunder also starred Larry Czonka, also a football legend. You can always tell when the narrator is just that, a narrator.
Larry Czonka is a BEAST! He's probably got sainthood status in Miami.
A I we'll never figure out how to pronounce the name
Or the author who misspells things, then pronounces the misspelling :(

It's a Sikorsky (Suh-core-ski) not a suroski.

Blue thunder the movie was good, series awful! Airwolf is the best
Yeah, that's a fact Union Jack. That's why Blue Thunder the series didn't last long.
