Etc. and also, I grew with plush Animals of the 80s, Like, Fievel (From the American Tail Movies), Pound Puppies, Etc. etc. and other dolls of the 80s, Like Jem and the Holograms, Barbie and the Rockers, Rose Petal Place, Maxie's World, also I grew up with RC Cars, Trucks, and Trains of the 80s too, and I also grew up with other 80s Toys too, Like Dungeons and Dragons, Dino-Riders, Etc. Etc.
@@DrEvil-sd9nu nope, 90s are when things got complicated. Internet, cellphones etc... when there were no distractions a kid can be a kid and play outside. This why the 80s were the last best decade. The last decade before complications

I honestly want to research about why that is. My guess is that it triggers ALL the memories, good and bad, that were attached to that single memory. Seeing Duck Hunt for some reason really triggered a big rush of sadness for some reason, even though I was like “oh wow I remember that” at the same time. I also think it has to do with the “loss of innocence” adulthood brings about, and it’s your subconscious way of grieving your childhood, which is common for any of us when we reminisce.
@@rtoriq yes I agree but I also think,for me anyway that the world has changed so much and so have the people. I find there are so many disrespectful, rude people ( I don’t understand it ) people who make nasty comments, and make every thing about them. Where I am the opposite and do everything for everyone else first ( even strangers). Makes me remember how nice people and neighbours used to be. Also my children are grown adults, age 32 and 20. I miss when I went to all the school events and helped out with everything. My parents are unwell and I am realising it’s only two years till my husband retires. Where has the time gone ? Really wish you could turn back time. I’m also going through menopause, which means I’m crying 😢 now. Sorry for the rant. You stay safe and all the best. ❤️🇦🇺
@@rtoriq I'm intrigued also,I just wanted to go back in time.So innocent yet at the time we we wanted to grow up so we could do adult things.Now grown we often crave for the reverse.We used to feel it took too long for birthday, Christmas etc and now time flies by.We thought we had it hard going to school and doing chores but those days were easy compared to adult life.What we didn't realise at the time is how short childhood was and when grown we we will be an adult forever... I had a hard childhood but the good times last a lifetime. I love psychology and I think your study idea sounds great I believe reflecting on these memories may provoke happiness and sadness could be due to on one hand we are reliving things from both a childhood and adulthood perspective rolled into one.We only thought with childhood insight at the time.We have lost our innocence,yet we didn't know we had it until its now gone.(I want it back).It feels like only yesterday but at the same time so long ago.Imagine if teachers reversed the question they still always ask kids.Instead of"when I grow up I want to...and change it to "I don't want to grow up because ...I wonder what the answer would be and then ask 30 years later.Interesting how dementia patients are often happiest reliving positive childhood experiences.
I so so regret throwing all my 80s toys away, or just losing track of them. I'd love to have them now, especially my cabbage patch kids. I remember, as a teenager, idiotically throwing most of them away. I'd love to have my glow worms. Although I didn't have the big soft one like they show here, it was a smaller, rubber one. My Carebears. My My Little Ponies. Barbies. Jem Jerica dolls. The Littles dolls. Sun Pets. Hot Looks dolls. Contrux. Oh and all these cool Fisher Price toys I had, especially all the food ones.
Haha I was a twenty something woman in the 80’s with two sons. I remember coming across a lone Cabbage Patch Kid sitting on a counter in a store one night. I grabbed that doll so quick. I still have it. So many of these toys were purchased for my boys. Good Memories. Thank you Rhetty!

For Cabbage Patch Dolls, there's a Cabbage Patch Hospital just outside of Helen Gerogia, which contains a museum, but also you can custom order new Cabbage Patch dolls with all the details you want, and they're made right there. You can then pick them up for adoption and be there when they're 'born'.

It’s called ‘“Babyland General Hospital?” I found it on UA-cam and am gonna check it out! I adored my cabbage patch dolls in the 80s! I still have all three of them! Judy Christabella was my first and thus favorite - her red braided pig tails still smell a bit like baby powder because I put some on her back then lol. My grandma was the one who braved getting it for me on Black Friday for me to have for X-mas that first year they blew up. I’ll never forget how surprised and excited I was upon opening the gift! I hadn’t asked for one or anything - parents just knew that every little girl loved them (and we seriously would take them EVERYWHERE, and sleep with them etc). The other ones I “adopted” was a premie named Wade Ely, and a short curly blonde hair girl named Layla (ugh I forget her middle name atm! I’m a bad mom!). They were such high quality dolls! I can’t believe the advertisement here said they were only $19.95! Even when accounting for inflation, I’d think they’d be worth so much more with such high quality!
The new Boss Baby movie has several He-Man action figures and a Castle Greyskull. My 3 year old saw the castle and busted out in the theater “ Hey, that’s a He-man castle!” Never been so proud lol
I live in a small town along the Delaware in PA. Our police station is the old stone Catholic Church on top of a hill with views of the river. My son refers to it as Castle GreySkull 😂
The 80s were the best years for toys, music, and TV! Going back to the whole Cabbage Patch Kids craze when my parents finally got one for my sister for Christmas. I loved the Autobots pic in this video, naming as many as I could, yet forgetting some names. Thanks for the great video!
As a kid from the 80's , this brings back so much nostalgia 🤯😊 It's sad that none of these products ever got a second life because the kids of today are too busy playing on cell phones and video games.
Thats what im saying . The Nintendo wasnt a toy .....it was a video game console. ( And the phone you're complaining that kids are on .........yep , you're addicted to You Tube , social media , etc. Too . )
my nephews have all the tech stuff, but they always have liked and still play with real toys too, lots of lego stuff, star wars, transformers and even some halo themed toys. christmas of 2019 my 17 year old nephew got nothing but transformer toys, it was sweet
I was Born in 82. So yes, I remember the Glory Day's of the 1980's 🤠👍🍒💃🇺🇸I remember playing with my cousin. She was such fun to play outside with all day. Riding bikes,climbing tree's, playing with toys, riding big wheels down the hill.
Thanks for sharing! That brought back a lot of great memories! The biggest ones for me were the Cabbage Patch Dolls and collecting the Garbage Pail Kid cards! I remember my parents couldn’t get those Cabbage Patch Dolls anywhere. We had to wait a long time. The Garbage Pail Kids were so cool with their looks and names. I had to collect them all!
You hit the nail on the head, you absolutely said it best--we did really love and play with our toys. I had a "relationship" with my toys, tbh, talking to them and pretend play with them. The Toy Story movies really capture what it was like to be a kid playing with your toys in the 80s, especially if you were born in the mid to late 70s, because you were at the perfect childhood age; not too young, not too old.
Wow! Brought back loads of memories! I had many of these growing up. Wish I kept them all 'cause I could probably retire early if I had. Never got into the Cabbage Patch dolls -- always thought they were kind'a creepy looking. LOVED the Pound Puppies though. I remember carrying mine around with me every where I went. Hey Rhett, Cabbage Patch Dolls originated in Cleveland, Ga several years before the toy manufacturers started mass producing them. The original building is still there and you can take your child there and they can create their own personal Cabbage Patch Doll. They have a “delivery room” where a “nurse” delivers their doll from under a cabbage leaf. It’s a pretty awesome experience! I took both of my daughters there to get their own special doll there when they were little. There’s also birth certificates, announcements and baby clothes you can get for you doll. This was in the early 2000’s and my daughters still cherish the memories of adopting their Cabbage Patch Doll! I do remember how crazy it was when they first came out. People were crazy over them.
So much nostalgia! We had a lot of these. My Little Pony, Cabbage Patch Kids, He-Man , Pound Puppies. My friends had Trivial Pursuit and GloWorm. I remember GoBots! We had micro machines too!

I just subscribed and being unwell this video really cheered me up.One of my earliest memories is when mum bought my first cabbage patch kid I was aged 4 and I remember it so vividly.It was night time and we went to Kmart and I remember the store seemed huge.In the middle of the store there was a huge square trolley piled high with cabbage patch dolls.As my sister aged 3 and i admired them we let out a squeal when mum said we could choose one each I couldn't believe mum allowed us one when it was neither Christmas nor my birthday I remember telling myself maybe I had just been well behaved I couldn't believe I could pick anyone I wanted.My sister and I giggled because none of the dolls had hair, I think that was on the later edition's.As we both we were very in decisive poor mum had to keep grabbing and putting back dolls which were stacked high in the shape of a pyramid.Just as mum said hurry up or the shop will close I picked my doll.It had a mint colored outfit and I struggled to carry the big box.As I happily skipped with excitement to the register to pay I heard a kid scream"can I have one mum".I knew I was a lucky girl and I wanted mum to drive fast as it seemed to take forever to get home I just wanted to open the box as I now had a baby to look after.Dont you just love the innocence of children.

Oh Gawd... I worked at a toy store when the Cabbage Kids dolls came out. The store would only get a few each week and always given to employees but we were told to lie to the customers and tell them to come back. I finally put my foot down and told the customers the truth. When told I had to lie by my boss, I flat out refused.
I would have trouble lying on that as well. Seems like that would make people even more mad than they already were. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience!
My son just turned 31 yesterday and he still has the cabbage patch that my wife - his mom- bought him when he was a few months old. Mom gave the doll same name.
I worked at KB Toys in 96 and everyone wanted " Tickle Me Elmo " ......id have to go to the stock room and pretend I was looking for one lol ( I would tell the customer " Sorry , We don't have any " ) Employees always , always , always gets first dibs on stuff off the truck .
What can I say? The 1980s were perfect for childhood. The characters were cute. Strawberry Shortcake was a cute rag doll looking girl with adorable eyes.. her cartoon was adorable and cute.. fast forward to this week and you will see her again in the 21st century with a hyperactive over the top fake like personality which is common in today's era cartoons along with the awful cal-art style. Carebears, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony.. all are so ugly now and I feel sorry for the kids of today for having these pitiful offerings for their future nostalgia. Kids of today are so into tech and online devices they are unaware of the fun times we 80 kids had without technology and were more grateful for our toys as a result. Kids of today could never get into animatronic toys and would never be attached to Teddy Ruxpin for example like we were. I spent time examining his moving mouth fascinated by his motion and excited about owning him.. kids of today would be like.. he's creepy. They are also void of having the excitement of a cereal box toy and the kid meal items most of the fast food had.. these days it's just a plastic piece of goods from McDonald's. Back in the 1980s there were many fun items and more fast food places had collectables to get excited about. I could go on and on with how much better the 1980s were. I am grateful I grew up before technology poisoned society and the world
I think kids are really missing out on some great toys. I also think it's vital for developing an imagination as well as critical thinking skills. Most of the technology is spoonfed to them and they develop skills that could lead to innovation. Thank you for watching!
Speaking of great McDs and BK toys... they were made of better materials too that were hard to break. I totally agree with all you posted. Back then the clothes were less vulgar and less erotic too. Today I have a hard tie finding clothing that I would be comfortable in and that could last. I brought a "used" jacket and pant set from that time and still looks new with bright colors and wearable. People knew how to make things last. Now-a-days jeans would last under 8 months.
@@RhettyforHistory That is a great point. Play does develop your imagination. And it helps to create a number of other skills as well. We used to do things in the 80s, as kids, that I can't imagine kids nowadays would have any interest in, but were great for developing all kinds of skills - we made 'houses' of out old cardboard boxes and decorated them, made plays and put them on for our friends, things like that. One thing I had a lot of was paper dolls. Barbie ones, Rainbow Brite ones, etc. They came with punch-out clothing, but I used to make my own paper ones, too. Even with that kind of thing, you were creating something, not just stuck online like kids are now so often. Also so much of what we did was social. There's less of that now, and that effects the development of a kid's social skills.
September 1981 here. We are unique in a sense that we were born at the top of the decade; the babies of the first official year of the glorious '80s. And no, 1980 doesn't exactly count lol. 🥳🎂🍼🧸⭐

Awww, I forgot all about my Glo-Worm!!!! Between Cabbage Patch Dolls, Barbies, Lady Lovely Locks', Little People, Care Bears, MLP, Teddy Ruxpin, Pound Puppies, My Buddy/Kid Sister, Rainbow Brite and Jem and the Holograms, the toys back then were fabulous! The children's and Young Teen books back then were so good, too! Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, Sweet Valley High/Twins/Kids, Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine 😍😍😍

No one ever mentions Alphie II. It was a educational robot toy; you would insert cards and push buttons on him accordingly. I guess it wasn't very popular, but that was me and my brother's favorite toy!
Yeah, I remember Alphie II, I loved that toy too! I think the problem was that it was made for the younger kids and only came with a few cards, it was also more expensive so most parents couldn't afford it--but you always had a cousin, friend, or try me in the store.

1:44- I loved my glow worm! I hated that when I would start to drift off my hand would relax and the light go off, though. Then I'd have to start over, lol. I still loved it.
Toys from: M.A.S.K, Dinoriders, Voltron, SheRa, Inspector Gadget. The 1980’s was really the best time for children as the toys matched their cartoons so children felt like they got to be part of their favourite cartoons. I had bits of everything: M.A.S.K, HeMan/SheRa, My little Pony, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Glow Worm/bugs (they also had a small figurine range) match box cars, micro machines (including the aircraft carrier!)
My girlfriend still has a few of her Barbie dolls from the sixties, they are in great condition being how old they are, she was offered 3500$ for one still in the original box, she turned it down, she knows money tight, but the memory of her grandmother means more.
I remember the feeling of opening that Sears catalog n seeing the advertisement for the Cabbage Patch Doll n knowing I could not live without one.i made sure to get the best grades n do all my chores n on Xmas morning of 1983 I signed the adoption papers of my cabbage patch kid n it was the best Xmas ever!!!
Man some of this gives me chills, just going back and had most of these toys. At 48 I still look up some of the cartoons and listen to 80’s music everyday.
I miss the days that you were able to fix your console just by blowing into the game cartridge really hard a few times. . . . Yes the good ole day's! 😇
The Nes wasn't a toy .....and blowing in the cartridge didn't help one bit ( taking the cartridge out and putting it back in so all the connectors were connected was what worked )

My mom donated all and we had a LOT of our G.I Joe, Transformers and Star Wars toys to an orphanage. I remember helping carry the box’s of toys in to this day.

I had every thing that was He-Man. Man, if I knew then why I know now, I would be sitting on a pile of money. My and wife found an old glow worm at a thrift store right after my 1st son was born. For the first two years, every night he had to have that thing to go to sleep. It finally died and I couldn't fix it. The 80's was and always will be the best decade to be a kid because of the toys
Currenly 43 and I had a lot of those toys, pure nostalgia! I had action figures from E man with his mighty tiger! Also had action figures from The A-Team, star wars, Ghostbusters. The 80's were great! Music of the 80's as well!
It does take quite a bit to put together but somehow or someway the 70s one I did was a pretty good hit. Many of the people commenting were wanting to see an 80s one or were at least saying they played with 70s toys but grew up in the 80s. Thank you for watching Paul!
He-man was one of my favorites back in the day. I had the castle and all sorts of things. I also loved my transformers. Kids today have it so sad. The 80's rocked!
Transformers and He-Man are still around today. The modern versions of those toys are, in some ways, better than the originals. Hasbro even made some Transformers recently that never got a toy in the 80s, like Arcee and Unicron.
My wife and I raised two daughters. Both had to have Cabbage Patch Kids that first Christmas. My poor wife stood in line for eternity to buy two dolls. In a drawer in my youngest daughter's bedroom we still have the adoption papers. My Little Pony was also a big hit with our oldest as well as Sheera. Our youngest daughter was always in love with Barbie dolls. I stayed up all night one Christmas eve to put together a Barbie Dream House. There was about 1000 pink see through pieces that all looked alike. I put that house together and had to take it apart many times. Our oldest daughter loved Strawberry Shortcake and our youngest daughter loved The Smurfs. Those days passed too quickly and each girl had three boys so we have six grandsons. The oldest is in college on a football scholarship. Time is short cherish every second with your children. Our oldest daughter has a rare inoperable stage four stomach cancer. We are spending all the time we can with her and her boys. She has a good attitude and a positive outlook and is on many prayer list. Thank you for the memories.

I also think it has to do with the “loss of innocence” adulthood brings about, and it’s your subconscious way of grieving your childhood, which is common for any of us when we reminisce.

@@rtoriq yes I agree but I also think,for me anyway that the world has changed so much and so have the people. I find there are so many disrespectful, rude people ( I don’t understand it ) people who make nasty comments, and make every thing about them. Where I am the opposite and do everything for everyone else first ( even strangers). Makes me remember how nice people and neighbours used to be. Also my children are grown adults, age 32 and 20. I miss when I went to all the school events and helped out with everything. My parents are unwell and I am realising it’s only two years till my husband retires. Where has the time gone ? @@rtoriq I'm intrigued also,I just wanted to go back in time.So innocent yet at the time we we wanted to grow up so we could do adult things.Now grown we often crave for the reverse.We used to feel it took too long for birthday, Christmas etc and now time flies by.We thought we had it hard going to school and doing chores but those days were easy compared to adult life.What we didn't realise at the time is how short childhood was and when grown we we will be an adult forever... I had a hard childhood but the good times last a lifetime. I love psychology and I think your study idea sounds great I believe reflecting on these memories may provoke happiness and sadness could be due to on one hand we are reliving things from both a childhood and adulthood perspective rolled into one.We only thought with childhood insight at the time.We have lost our innocence,yet we didn't know we had it until its now gone.(I want it back).It feels like only yesterday but at the same time so long ago.Imagine if teachers reversed the question they still always ask kids.Instead of"when I grow up I want to...and change it to "I don't want to grow up because ...I wonder what the answer would be and then ask 30 years later.Interesting how dementia patients are often happiest reliving positive childhood experiences.

I'd love to have my glow worms. Although I didn't have the big soft one like they show here, it was a smaller, rubber one. My Carebears. My My Little Ponies. Barbies. Jem Jerica dolls. The Littles dolls. Sun Pets. Hot Looks dolls. Contrux. Oh and all these cool Fisher Price toys I had, especially all the food ones.

For Cabbage Patch Dolls, there's a Cabbage Patch Hospital just outside of Helen Gerogia, which contains a museum, but also you can custom order new Cabbage Patch dolls with all the details you want, and they're made right there. You can then pick them up for adoption and be there when they're 'born'.

It’s called ‘“Babyland General Hospital?” I found it on UA-cam and am gonna check it out! I adored my cabbage patch dolls in the 80s! I still have all three of them! Judy Christabella was my first and thus favorite - her red braided pig tails still smell a bit like baby powder because I put some on her back then lol.
My grandma was the one who braved getting it for me on Black Friday for me to have for X-mas that first year they blew up. I’ll never forget how surprised and excited I was upon opening the gift! I hadn’t asked for one or anything - parents just knew that every little girl loved them (and we seriously would take them EVERYWHERE, and sleep with them etc). The other ones I “adopted” was a premie named Wade Ely, and a short curly blonde hair girl named Layla (ugh I forget her middle name atm! I’m a bad mom!).
They were such high quality dolls! I can’t believe the advertisement here said they were only $19.95! Even when accounting for inflation, I’d think they’d be worth so much more with such high quality!

You hit the nail on the head, you absolutely said it best--we did really love and play with our toys. I had a "relationship" with my toys, tbh, talking to them and pretend play with them. The Toy Story movies really capture what it was like to be a kid playing with your toys in the 80s, especially if you were born in the mid to late 70s, because you were at the perfect childhood age; not too young, not too old.

Hey Rhett, Cabbage Patch Dolls originated in Cleveland, Ga several years before the toy manufacturers started mass producing them. The original building is still there and you can take your child there and they can create their own personal Cabbage Patch Doll. They have a “delivery room” where a “nurse” delivers their doll from under a cabbage leaf. It’s a pretty awesome experience! I took both of my daughters there to get their own special doll there when they were little. There’s also birth certificates, announcements and baby clothes you can get for you doll. This was in the early 2000’s and my daughters still cherish the memories of adopting their Cabbage Patch Doll! I do remember how crazy it was when they first came out. People were crazy over them.

I just subscribed and being unwell this video really cheered me up.One of my earliest memories is when mum bought my first cabbage patch kid I was aged 4 and I remember it so vividly.It was night time and we went to Kmart and I remember the store seemed huge.In the middle of the store there was a huge square trolley piled high with cabbage patch dolls.As my sister aged 3 and i admired them we let out a squeal when mum said we could choose one each I couldn't believe mum allowed us one when it was neither Christmas nor my birthday I remember telling myself maybe I had just been well behaved I couldn't believe I could pick anyone I wanted.My sister and I giggled because none of the dolls had hair, I think that was on the later edition's.As we both we were very in decisive poor mum had to keep grabbing and putting back dolls which were stacked high in the shape of a pyramid.Just as mum said hurry up or the shop will close I picked my doll.It had a mint colored outfit and I struggled to carry the big box.As I happily skipped with excitement to the register to pay I heard a kid scream"can I have one mum".I knew I was a lucky girl and I wanted mum to drive fast as it seemed to take forever to get home I just wanted to open the box as I now had a baby to look after.Dont you just love the innocence of children.

Oh Gawd... I worked at a toy store when the Cabbage Kids dolls came out. The store would only get a few each week and always given to employees but we were told to lie to the customers and tell them to come back. I finally put my foot down and told the customers the truth. When told I had to lie by my boss, I flat out refused.

My son just turned 31 yesterday and he still has the cabbage patch that my wife - his mom- bought him when he was a few months old. Mom gave the doll same name.
I worked at KB Toys in 96 and everyone wanted " Tickle Me Elmo " ......id have to go to the stock room and pretend I was looking for one lol ( I would tell the customer " Sorry , We don't have any " )

What can I say? The 1980s were perfect for childhood. The characters were cute. Strawberry Shortcake was a cute rag doll looking girl with adorable eyes.. her cartoon was adorable and cute.. fast forward to this week and you will see her again in the 21st century with a hyperactive over the top fake like personality which is common in today's era cartoons along with the awful cal-art style.
Carebears, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony.. all are so ugly now and I feel sorry for the kids of today for having these pitiful offerings for their future nostalgia.
Kids of today are so into tech and online devices they are unaware of the fun times we 80 kids had without technology and were more grateful for our toys as a result. Kids of today could never get into animatronic toys and would never be attached to Teddy Ruxpin for example like we were. I spent time examining his moving mouth fascinated by his motion and excited about owning him.. kids of today would be like.. he's creepy.
They are also void of having the excitement of a cereal box toy and the kid meal items most of the fast food had.. these days it's just a plastic piece of goods from McDonald's. Back in the 1980s there were many fun items and more fast food places had collectables to get excited about.
I could go on and on with how much better the 1980s were. I am grateful I grew up before technology poisoned society and the world
I think kids are really missing out on some great toys. I also think it's vital for developing an imagination as well as critical thinking skills. Most of the technology is spoonfed to them and they develop skills that could lead to innovation. Thank you for watching!
Speaking of great McDs and BK toys... they were made of better materials too that were hard to break.
I totally agree with all you posted. Back then the clothes were less vulgar and less erotic too. Today I have a hard tie finding clothing that I would be comfortable in and that could last. I brought a "used" jacket and pant set from that time and still looks new with bright colors and wearable. People knew how to make things last. Now-a-days jeans would last under 8 months.
@@RhettyforHistory That is a great point. Play does develop your imagination. And it helps to create a number of other skills as well.
We used to do things in the 80s, as kids, that I can't imagine kids nowadays would have any interest in, but were great for developing all kinds of skills - we made 'houses' of out old cardboard boxes and decorated them, made plays and put them on for our friends, things like that.
One thing I had a lot of was paper dolls. Barbie ones, Rainbow Brite ones, etc. They came with punch-out clothing, but I used to make my own paper ones, too. Even with that kind of thing, you were creating something, not just stuck online like kids are now so often.
Also so much of what we did was social. There's less of that now, and that effects the development of a kid's social skills.

No one ever mentions Alphie II. It was a educational robot toy; you would insert cards and push buttons on him accordingly. I guess it wasn't very popular, but that was me and my brother's favorite toy!
Yeah, I remember Alphie II, I loved that toy too! I think the problem was that it was made for the younger kids and only came with a few cards, it was also more expensive so most parents couldn't afford it--but you always had a cousin, friend, or try me in the store.
We still have my husband's original NES, with most of his games and the Game Genie! I kick my kids' butts on it! Lol
I loved Stompers. Had a whole bunch of those. Loved to make dirt hills, and watch them roll over them.

The 1980’s was really the best time for children as the toys matched their cartoons so children felt like they got to be part of their favourite cartoons. I had bits of everything: M.A.S.K, HeMan/SheRa, My little Pony, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Glow Worm/bugs (they also had a small figurine range) match box cars, micro machines (including the aircraft carrier!)

My girlfriend still has a few of her Barbie dolls from the sixties, they are in great condition being how old they are, she was offered 3500$ for one still in the original box, she turned it down, she knows money tight, but the memory of her grandmother means more.

I remember the feeling of opening that Sears catalog n seeing the advertisement for the Cabbage Patch Doll n knowing I could not live without one.i made sure to get the best grades n do all my chores n on Xmas morning of 1983 I signed the adoption papers of my cabbage patch kid n it was the best Xmas ever!!!

The Nes wasn't a toy .....and blowing in the cartridge didn't help one bit ( taking the cartridge out and putting it back in so all the connectors were connected was what worked )

I had every thing that was He-Man. Man, if I knew then why I know now, I would be sitting on a pile of money.
My and wife found an old glow worm at a thrift store right after my 1st son was born. For the first two years, every night he had to have that thing to go to sleep. It finally died and I couldn't fix it.
The 80's was and always will be the best decade to be a kid because of the toys
Currenly 43 and I had a lot of those toys, pure nostalgia! I had action figures from E man with his mighty tiger! Also had action figures from The A-Team, star wars, Ghostbusters. The 80's were great! Music of the 80's as well!

It does take quite a bit to put together but somehow or someway the 70s one I did was a pretty good hit. Many of the people commenting were wanting to see an 80s one or were at least saying they played with 70s toys but grew up in the 80s. Thank you for watching Paul!

He-man was one of my favorites back in the day. I had the castle and all sorts of things. I also loved my transformers. Kids today have it so sad. The 80's rocked!
Transformers and He-Man are still around today. The modern versions of those toys are, in some ways, better than the originals. Hasbro even made some Transformers recently that never got a toy in the 80s, like Arcee and Unicron.
My wife and I raised two daughters. Both had to have Cabbage Patch Kids that first Christmas. My poor wife stood in line for eternity to buy two dolls. In a drawer in my youngest daughter's bedroom we still have the adoption papers. My Little Pony was also a big hit with our oldest as well as Sheera. Our youngest daughter was always in love with Barbie dolls. I stayed up all night one Christmas eve to put together a Barbie Dream House. There was about 1000 pink see through pieces that all looked alike. I put that house together and had to take it apart many times. Our oldest daughter loved Strawberry Shortcake and our youngest daughter loved The Smurfs. Those days passed too quickly and each girl had three boys so we have six grandsons. The oldest is in college on a football scholarship. Time is short cherish every second with your children. Our oldest daughter has a rare inoperable stage four stomach cancer. We are spending all the time we can with her and her boys. She has a good attitude and a positive outlook and is on many prayer list. Thank you for the memories.
