Kareem Riad You have so right Metallica Play this Song without Soul but heavy and fast and this is not realy good. I hate it ! Mistreated was not write for this.
Lars is one of Deep Purple's biggest fans, and this cover of Mistreated is superb! They make it their own, wthout losing the song's integrity. Thanks for posting.
I just can't belive that they never record this cover in studio. They for sure should have done it in their best '90 years. It's a shame they didn't...
is really james playing or a it's a backing track ?? because correct me if i'm wrong this kind of freestyle stuff is used to give rest to the other members , no ?
Yep, me too. Besides being a fan of such bands like Metallica or Megadeth, I'm also very fond of classic stuff like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, so I would be very glad to hear Metallica covering Fireball, Highway Star or something.
Deep fucing Purple fuckin A, i remember this solo watching it live, and it really showed that they Metallica, didn't only care about thrashing our ears off, but playing with feeling, this solo changed my whole outlook on guitar playing.
my guess is the first night he played the ibanez, then played the esp the 2nd night, and then the editor put both clips into the video. still a badass performance regardless
Si en verdad lo supieran, no se les ocurriría tratar de imitar lo inimitable, y menos ante miles de fans, ya que corren el peligro de acercarse al ridículo , como en éste caso.
Metallica is a heavy metal band, but Deep purple make to sound more heavier than Metallica this song. Ritchie Blackmore dont need wah wah for sounding better, Ritchie is GOD+¡
@MrHeavysteel Thanks, i learned to play this intro by ear. And kirk showed that he appreciates classic music too. Remember Lars telling about everybody listening to NWOBHM anc Cliff listening to Bach too ?
Ahhhhh! Amazing version. I like nmore hard rock than Heavy metal or trash (I like it by the way), but this guys make an unbeliveble version. Great solo!!!!
a very underrated jam, I think it's one of Metallica's best jams, next to Little Wing from Seattle in 89'. I covered both if anybody wants to listen /watch?v=vBc-DBuaMzc
kkrakenn: It is called "I Dovregubbens Hall" or in English: "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and it is composed by Edvard Grieg. Search for it on Wikipedia.
It's Hall of the Mountain King, and it's played on the E, A, and D string, using the first three frets. You should be able to figure it out pretty easily. I was just messing around one day, and stumbled into playing it.
I can't believe this song didn't make the Garage Inc. album.
metallideth821 ditto man. weird huh...
metallideth821 Garage inc??? dude this song is Deep Purple not Metallica AND THAT'S AN AWFUL COVER!!!
Kareem Riad Dude, Garage Inc is an album of covers ¬ ¬
Kareem Riad You have so right Metallica Play this Song without Soul but heavy and fast and this is not realy good. I hate it ! Mistreated was not write for this.
Thank God then.
this is pure respect to the legendary ritchie blackmore that invented this riff.
Ritchie Blackmore is God.................
Never gets old. Even after all these years
Lars is one of Deep Purple's biggest fans, and this cover of Mistreated is superb! They make it their own, wthout losing the song's integrity. Thanks for posting.
Brutal loud cover wow amazing..
ritchie blackmore always created amazing songs and to be inspiration for another legend !!!
So James must be in the background playing rhythm then?
Yes, Jason too.
bring back that drum kit !
Both of them
I just can't belive that they never record this cover in studio. They for sure should have done it in their best '90 years. It's a shame they didn't...
This is cover only ..it's not their own
One of my favorite parts of this concert.
This is a metal solo that used Mistreated as the base. It's not a "cover". Slash did the same thing with Godfather's theme.
01:35 LARS!
Hell yeah!
I haven't heard Metallica do a cover i didn't like.
Ritchie Blackmore disliked this 137 times...
But the rest of Deep Purple loved it!! Good cover!!
Kirk is a big fan of Ritchie, so the other members of Metallica :)
The Sentinel hahaha now 126 times dislikes
Blackmore likes Mistreated, play this song also with new Rainbow
Another genius metalhead comment !
This one is one of te best songs of David Coverdale, the voice of rock!
I FREAK'N LOVE THIS! I only wish they sang the song.
+Spectra Light Right?! I would like to hear James sings it!
+blueckaym In the 80s, maybe. Not now!
MrLtia1234 this was 92
I would love to hear an isolated track of what James is playing in the background, if that is him playing out of sight. Sounds really meaty.
is really james playing or a it's a backing track ?? because correct me if i'm wrong this kind of freestyle stuff is used to give rest to the other members , no ?
He can play rithcie stuff. Listen to dio tribute album. Metallica did 3 song medley with solos
I love Metallica, but you're fucking right about what you say. Blackmore's playing and tone on that song during California Jam is.. more than epic.
NO... RITCHIE NOTES ARE GAYS
he just had to put wah in it didn't he
Man...all the salty purple fans...its unreal XD
Super 2021 👍👍👍
I've been Missssteatttteedddddd!!!
Such a great cover from one of the best bands in the world!!
The heavy metal sound of metallica does really work with it
That so heavy... HEADBANG IN MY ROOM lml
Somehow James's riff wrapped up the solo. Nice one
Kirk needs to go back to that thick cutting wah sound and Lars needs to go back to the big drum kits and booming snare! This is badass.
Yep, me too. Besides being a fan of such bands like Metallica or Megadeth, I'm also very fond of classic stuff like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, so I would be very glad to hear Metallica covering Fireball, Highway Star or something.
So that's where the inspiration for Poor Twisted Me came from.. Or basically for around 85% of Load and REload..
MrDR7no god that failed has a similar pentonic riff as well
I'd love to hear the full song this rocks!!!
\m/\m/
Marvellous, Mistreated - Metallica.... Bravo.
By far one of the most furious jams I've ever heard
For the ABSOLUTE BEST EVER version of this song press replay
metallica's cover of mistreated is so good!
Deep fucing Purple fuckin A, i remember this solo watching it live, and it really showed that they Metallica, didn't only care about thrashing our ears off, but playing with feeling, this solo changed my whole outlook on guitar playing.
.... where the scales change key at 2:38 has always given me chills.
2018 .. Metallica still Kings of Metal 🤘🏻
Deep Purple. Voz David Coverdale.
Fuck yeah! you know your shit dude,California Jam 1974 is one of the best if not the best Deep Purple set EVER!
Hall Of The Mountain King! thats the one! thanks man, you were right about the Rainbow version being better of course.
Who ever edited this kinda mixed up some of the clips. At some parts Kirk goes from playing the Ibanez to a reversed headstock ESP.
1:58
2:19
Bruh, even here? Like bro...😳
my guess is the first night he played the ibanez, then played the esp the 2nd night, and then the editor put both clips into the video. still a badass performance regardless
De Lo Mejor Que Le He Escuchado A Metallica, Son Buenos Nadie Lo Niega, Mas Sin Embargo Ellos Mismos Saben Que A Los Grandes Nunca Igualarán !
Si en verdad lo supieran, no se les ocurriría tratar de imitar lo inimitable, y menos ante miles de fans, ya que corren el peligro de acercarse al ridículo , como en éste caso.
Es Cierto Purple Es Mucho Mas Que Metallica De Todas Formas Se Que Es Por El Gusto Innato De Lars Por Deep Purple !
😂 TALENT WISE KIRK CAN CIRCLE RITCHIE BLACKMORE
I don't get why people are so bad. I'm a BIG Ritchie Blackmore fan but i really enjoy this version!
Simplemente Metallica ❤️🤘😍
The beast that is
METALLICA
i,am great metallica and allmetal fan ! but rainbow and deep purple version are the BEST period
God, james' tone is so heavy
man i wish there were tabs for this like for all the wah bits and the solo stuff that isnt actually part of the song, love it
The good improvization-- no big. I want all composition.
No shit!!!
thank you...i think the same thing!!!
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Almost as good as Deep Purple`s version. Black night is very good too. I agree, they should make a Deep Purple tour:)
01:23
I think they should do a studio cover of this.
Metallica is a heavy metal band, but Deep purple make to sound more heavier than Metallica this song. Ritchie Blackmore dont need wah wah for sounding better, Ritchie is GOD+¡
No
awesome solo
That rhythm guitar tone is the zenith of guitar tones. 😎🤘
@MrHeavysteel Thanks, i learned to play this intro by ear. And kirk showed that he appreciates classic music too. Remember Lars telling about everybody listening to NWOBHM anc Cliff listening to Bach too ?
i just LOVE IT!! KIRK IS A GOD!!
i've been a fan ever since i was 10 and i still am a fan!!! he rocks!!!1
!!!!!Power!!!!!
God I wish they would do an album cover of this!!
yeah, i've got it now. thanks anyway man!
Not bad.. but the original is the best!
awsome cover
thanx :D now i playing it on my guitar is easy but great
Stiff godaweful drums dragging it down
1,35 eargasm
@phobbb Which is also by Rainbow, the band Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple founded, which is why Kirk played it I believe.
woot! =]
anyone know how to play the tune Kirk plays at the beggining? im not smart enough to figure it out...
this is great
The Kirk of old in this.....loved it.
THE RIPPER . Legend.
There's nothing better but to see posers like this to rock your brain out man it's fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!
He is awsome!!
Kirk was on fire in the 80s & 90s
Rainbow's with Dio and Ritchie is far and away the killer version. Blackmore runs rings around Wahmett.
Yep. Real guitar players know this.
Ahhhhh! Amazing version. I like nmore hard rock than Heavy metal or trash (I like it by the way), but this guys make an unbeliveble version. Great solo!!!!
what is the name of the song that kirk play first and the last but this video dont have the last part of the solo iknow beacause i have the dvd
a very underrated jam, I think it's one of Metallica's best jams, next to Little Wing from Seattle in 89'. I covered both if anybody wants to listen /watch?v=vBc-DBuaMzc
I wonder who plays the chords on this song. Some crew member?
James backstage
kkrakenn: It is called "I Dovregubbens Hall" or in English: "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and it is composed by Edvard Grieg. Search for it on Wikipedia.
It's Hall of the Mountain King, and it's played on the E, A, and D string, using the first three frets. You should be able to figure it out pretty easily. I was just messing around one day, and stumbled into playing it.
Bad to the bone, period!
FUCK YEAH
Wish they made a serious thrash metal cover of this song, would be so fucking awesome
does anyone know what the song is at the very begining ?
please message me if you know thanks :)
Damn straight!!!
very nice 'cover' !!!!
Back when Metallica had passion, drive, energy, BALLSY GUITAR TONE and attitude to the fucking max
Hey, umm.. Anyone got the tabs for THIS mistreated version? :P I simply love it :D
anyone who knows... is kirk using the pentatonic scale because i use it to make a solo in this song and looks okey to me
KIRK!
still 2021
Whats the name of the song that he played as intro when he came up?
lol whole song kirk plays on ibanez but on1.58-1.59 there is a cut video when he plays on ESP.
the first one he plays is in the hall of the moutnain king by grieg or rainbow/deep purple mistreated
some know if the rhytm is played by james or it's a backing track
this is so tough!!!!!!!!!!
What dvd is this from?
Metal porn....
