Even at what people call their “low point” they still put on a hell of a show with great energy
Their lowest point was definitely st. Anger
This is far from their lowest point. I mean in terms of popularity with fans yeah, but everything after reload was completely devastating. The original load era was amazing. I honestly think it was them at their peak. This was definitely Lars at his peak since this was right before he quit practicing all the time and got lazy, he actually does the correct double bass, and barely misses a single beat! Kirk sounds absolutely stunning, and James voice was reborn. They sounded as tight as ever!
Metallica albums may have high highs and low lows, but metallica as a live playing band never has had a low point

When you tours like this and black album you have shoulders tore up ( both since 1998), knee issues, hearing issues (1995) and lower back.
Their lowest point was late 90s and early 2000.
Look at their shows in 99 or in the St Anger era, it was trash.
Then late 2000 till nowadays they're pretty solid.
They should play like this more often... Or bring back the justice medley, I freaking love that one

I really like Rob on bass, he is a very talented bassist, but there was just something about Jason's backing "vocals" that added a little bit more to their live shows when he was in the band. I kinda miss it.

I'm not sure I agree with that. Rob really was the guy who got them to play a lot more of the older songs they weren't really paying a ton of attention to before Jason had left.

well like I said, I do love Rob in the band. Hes intense and as far as like Death Magnetic went I wasn't sure if he brought much in for it, but back in the day I did really love Jason's vocals he did. It wouldn't surprise me if he couldn't really do it much now though.

i love seeing bands interact with the audience. you're not just listening to the music, but watching them perform. i know that's how shows are supposed to be, but it's nice just seeing bands do this.

How friggen cool! The many changes of Metallica through the years. I right away recongized the look as the Load/Reload era of Metallica. Not my favorite Metallica Era, but they always put on a hell of a good show reguardless.

I am so glad to have seen this tour live in Birmingham NEC England 97. I was not so much of a metal head back then and was a raver. Some friends got me to go and from that night I became a Metallica fan and have loved them to this day. 🙂🤘
I've never noticed Kirk play an LTD on this medley, as i never notice Jason plays with fingers the outro riff from Seek and Destroy. I like to watch things i see one million time and discover new things every time :-)

I was at both of these concerts in 97 and they were on fire, this video barely does it justice. Jason was in the crowd the entire time rocking with people, it was the most memorable concert of my life. Rob is not fit to hold Jason's jockstrap, that's for sure.

I've seen many Metallica Shows in video, this one is my favorite so far, the best sound, one of the best performances by them, that fight fire with fire is truly fire 🔥
