One of the greatest pieces in music history. RIP Cliff 🤘
R.I.P Cliff 🫡😎⭐🌟✨🌟⭐✨
100%
I know I never met Cliff, I was born in late 2003 but I feel like I miss him
It would've been so freaking cool to hang out with him
He wasn't only a awesome bass player but an awesome person and brother in Metal
I love you Cliff! 🖤💙💜🎸🎶
Can you even explain why you belive what you just said?
Come on explain it probably born in '02
I think we can all agree Metallica is the best.
True
Так
How do u measure that?
@@jurgencuypers8350 By comparing the length of your penis with that of James Hetfield.
@@jurgencuypers8350 With this video.
All around great performance. Huge shoutout to Rob for absolutely killing the bass and allowing Cliff’s legacy to live on. Rob allows young fans like myself to hear Orion live, like the original metallica fans with cliff
Actually cliff never got to perform it live 😢 Rob premiered it in 2006, not as tight. But that still is an insane performance, check that out :) ❤
@@jan.plays.guitarthey played puppets in its entirety for the 20th anniversary. Hard to beleive its almost been another 20 lol...
@@midnight347 yeah I watched that on TV, that was very cool
"All around great performance" - Well, if you ignore the fact that Kirk once again messes up most of his parts...
@@Litty2Shoes oh damn, sorry bro :/
I was on the barricade and they played this RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF ME! Hetfield gave his wristbands to my kids and Lars personally handed a stick to my daughter. My girlfriend also won the Limited Edition signed Skate deck!! Greatest band of all time and the greatest concert of my life!
Супер!!!!
That is so cool bro! I’m glad you had a good time.
Que suerteeee bro😊
Did u get kirks tighty whiteys?
@@MikePScott0154 no that was me only cost a couple mil

The best moment of entire video , just in the heart
"We miss you , we love you Cliff"🤘
goosebumps
With his arm pointing to the sky. 💪💪 Priceless. 💪
Everytime, all the time, after every live Orion
And it's been 38 years since he passed. What an impact Cliff has made on the band, the metal community and the world. RIP Cliff.
Almost made me cry.
This Friday concert was crazy! But the Sunday concert may have been one of the craziest and greatest metallic concerts in the past few decades!!! Tons of people body surfing, intense moshpits, people screaming all around me, jumping around, huge group headbanging! It was surreal... LET"S GO METALLICA!!!
I wish I was there, sounds amazing!
🤘
I was there for both days on the rails and it was wild! Had to shield my gf from all the flying bodies lol!
amazing!! any videos to watch the concert?
Sunday was so crazy and fun that they played saint anger
So unfortunate that Cliff never got to play Orion live. If he saw how Rob plays it, though, he wouldn't be disappointed. RIP Cliff, you'll live on through your music! 🤘
Never knew Cliff didn't get to play Orion live
He has played it live. In heaven
@@ryu-ken yeah, on repeat even, but that's not the context
Take a bow Robert. Cliff would be most happy with that performance. Magnificent.
Seeing Rob try his very hardest to pull off one of, if not the best bass solo of all time is legendary
He got the soul of Cliff Burton in him :)
He made a Excelent solo.
he played it well👍what the fuck you crying and whining?
Rob KILLS IT !
legendary performance
Rob doesn't have to try hard.. Hammett on the other side...
Orion is an absolute masterpiece of classical music
Well, it’s not classical music. It’s metal, with obvious classical influence
@@anakinlowground5515It's classical music with electricity. 😊
@@anakinlowground5515 oh come on ! You really think this is the place for this "no, ACKSHUALLY..." thing ?
I never watch live performances but have watched this video 8 or 9 times. This is incredible! Pray for the Soul of Clifford Burton.
@@anakinlowground5515 Cliff Burton was a Classical Music fan. If I'm not mistaken, there's some classical influences in this song.
Rob is the reason they started to play Orion live, he doesnt have the backing vocals or that agression, but we have Orion live, and that's more than enough.
HOLY SHIT! I have listened to Orion a million times... but this might have been their best version yet! WOW
I was there, it was amazing
I was there, finally got to hear Orion in concert, plus it's the only album I've heard every track live in concert.Hope they come back again soon to Texas.
Same brother
Damn you’re lucky. Still never heard Disposable Heroes, Damage Inc, and Thing That Should Not Be live
@@jd0879 I heard Disposable Heroes twice,in 1994 and 2004,Damage Inc in 1986 and Thing in 1989
@@seekanddowhat Holy shit that’s an old school fan. Respect
@@seekanddowhatFucking hell yeah man! 🤘🏻
My favorite Metallica song of all time 🤘
I think the harmony section in the middle is the best it has ever sounded as well. Awesome.
Also this bass riff before the harmonies is sooo emotional
@@NinoRockStar if only lars could keep the rhythm. the hi hat work hurts to hear a bit
I got a chub
@@stephanyampolsky7187I also wonder if the sick harmonies would amplify even more if Lars were to keep the beat more straight 🤔
Spot-on👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
No matter what people say about Lars. The guy has his own style and in this concert, he sounded massive! Straight to the point. Simplified drumming sound. Concrete! Sometimes less y more!! 👊
Sometimes it’s wot is best for the song. A lot of people don’t understand that
Sounds like freaking gunshots. So cool.
@@Skwid-Lives playing out of time is not what's best for the song
@@Ramanahayes your rhythm is off not his
@@Skwid-Lives I don’t think I’m better than him but he’s still shit
I love the way the band is all grouped together. In memory of Cliff. RIP
After 27 years of seeing Metallica live & they finally played this song for me to experience.......... I was a sobbing mess 🤘
I was the same, so exited to listen to Orion and The Call of Ktuku live.
I can relate bro
I feel you
So gay
If this song wasn't perfection already, this intro makes it perfection
I am beyond proud to say I watched this live and you guys killed it. RIP CLIFF AND THANK U ROBERT FOR THIS MASTERPIECE
The only metal song that ever brought me to tears. It gets me every time, for almost 40 years.
A Metallica concert isn't just another gig, it's an experience!
One I hope to be able be a part of one day
Best concerts you can see right now imo are Metallica, Gojira, and Tool. All so epic
I was there for this masterpiece. First time I heard it live and it was an awesome experience
Someone ripped these satellite feed of this show so both shows are floating on the internet
Awesome hearing this and Ktulu live.
Saw them at Download, UK. Two songs I thought I'd never get to hear in person.
That intro is a killer.
The 1 second pause right before they came in made it hit so much harder
Metallica the greatest band of all time!
Orion still so perfect live...Cliff'em ALL
James' voice sound so clear here. amazing!
Great performance by metal royalty 🤘R.I.P. Cliff
I was there in the AT&T Stadium to see Metallica perform, it was my first time experiencing a concert and it had to be my favorite band of all time, THANK YOU METALLICA!!!! ❤🔥🤘🎸
I remember seeing them play this song in theaters. It sounded awesome live
this is the same show. the one form theatres. Someone ripped the satellite feed of this show so both shows are floating on the internet
@@jessesmusicmanor yeah i saw that, it was deleted instantly from youtube and i havent been able to find it again/
@@theDragoon007yaboiCJsome people still trying to re-upload these gigs, but youtube deletes them within a couple of hours usually.
At our theater the sound was way too saturated, could barely recognize the songs
@@jessesmusicmanor He actually might be referring to the credits sequence of Through the Never, they play it there in the empty arena.
imagine this... I've been listening to Metallica for 17 years... this year I played the first concert in my life... both in Amsterdam... first concert, first song... And that's Orion! a song that even in my dreams I never thought I would hear live... it happens as the first song at my first concert! Fuck yeah!! 🤘🤘
Finally. It only took me six Metallica concerts to see this live. This, to me, was the highlight song of the show.
I was in Arlington on both nights. Orion is my favorite Metallica song and listening live to it for the first time was a dream come true.
i was there too 👊🏻💀👊🏻
I was there too and I agree. My favorite song 100%
Metallica and Cliff Burton will forever be in my heart ❤️ June 5.1986 McAllen Texas
My wife doesn’t even like metal, actually she hates it cuz I’m constantly playing it on my guitar. However, she loves this song, and I’m sending this to her. Just perfect boys!
It's awesome to see most Metallica fans are now fully embracing Rob as part of the band. It's about time, he's been in it for longer now than Cliff and Jason combined! Such a great bassist and worthy of carrying on and adding to their legacy.
Essa banda tá cada vez mais incrível❤❤❤
I saw the Arlington show when it was playing at my local movie theatre here in Toronto, it was my first time seeing them live and they absolutely killed it
There is copies of both this show floating on the internet, someone ripped the satellite feeds
I can finally say: I was there 🤘🏻🤘🏻
That intro transition was so good it gave me chills.
this song is a masterpiece
I was there! It was amazing!!!! 🤘
Never in a million years thought this would be a normal part of their setlist, but no better way to remember Cliff. Absolutely crushes
love this band
O tempo não chega para os mestres. Cada dia com a performance mais brilhante!
Great comment!
James’ face at 5:20 is like he just knows Cliff is rocking right alongside them. They killed this song and it’s one of my all-time favorites 🙌🏼 I love this
Also, 7:30 😍
The intro is stunning. It reminds me of the opening , brooding drones to the theme from The Terminator. Totally sounds perfect to the song. Incredible.
I'll never stop getting goosebumps every time I listen to this epic fkn song. 💦
A PERFEIÇÃO EXISTE E EU POSSO PROVAR. 🤘🏽🇧🇷🔥🇧🇷🔥🇧🇷🔥🇧🇷🔥🇧🇷🔥🤘🏽
60 anos nas costas!
My favorite metallica song, and song of all time. Nothing will ever beat it. RIP Cliff🤘🏻
Sitting in this crowd was incredible! I can't wait to see them again! 🤘
The song that got me into metal. Been a die hard fan ever since.
Orionnnnnnnnnnn!!! Metallica best band ever 🤘
I still can't believe I've seen them open with Orion in Amsterdam. First show of this tour. I lost my freaking mind when they played it
Same here, I couldn’t place the song in the beginning because it was the last song I expected. I mean, what are the odds that they are going to play a very rare song that happens to be my favourite? When the bass kicked in, one of the best feelings I have had.
I was at this show with my dad and this was the song I recorded front to back, greatest first concert
Trujillo honors cliffs legacy every time they perform this live, RIP cliff burton
What an awesome weekend in Arlington with my two sons!
Amazing performance I saw them live in Phoenix and when they played Orion I cried! Thanks to Robert and thanks to Cliff! 🙏🏻
Please please please play this in Edmonton next summer!!!!!
Cliff is awesome. I saw him in Montreal 1986. Weeks before his passing. One of the best bass players ever. God bless Burton. ❤
10 MILLION SUBS!!! Congrats legends ❤
So glad to have been able to see this in the theatres!
That intro is just pure goosebumps, love the wee damage inc nod in there
40 years later, they still make me jump out of my chair. Big, very big.❤
Papa get well soon, we need you🥺❤️
I still can’t believe I got to hear this masterpiece live when they stopped in LA. Truly a night I’ll always remember and treasure! 🤘🏼
God I wish I was back there. I want the rest of my life to be spent at Metallica concerts
This was my first concert, literally the coolest day of my entire life.
gives me chills everytime🤘🏻
What an amazing pair of shows. Memories for a lifetime with the Metallica family
The emotion that this song brings me. For the longest time this was one of the songs I had hope to hear them play live before they call it a day. And Im so glad I was here at this show and got to experience it. As soon as I heard the intro fading in, I instantly got goosebumps. And once they started playing, my eyes welled up with joy.
I am with you right there brother, a total masterpiece
I WAS THERE... BOTH SHOWS!!! It was so loud... The loudest concert I've ever been too. The second night I had to bring earplugs because my ears were literally in pain after the first concert. I was so scared I would lose my eardrums the second night. LOL!
haha yeah i was there both nights! i forgot my earplugs so my ears definitely needed a break!
Hoping they make it to Houston. Like you the loudest concert I've been to was a Metallica concert. Death Magnetic tour Houston Toyota Center 2008.
@@josephbarry6218 yeah i need a concert closer than dallas 😂
it was quite the drive
A Masterpiece 🤟
Arlington show was fucking amazing! You rock, always and forever.
perfeitoooooooooooooooooooo
meu deussssss
This was a fantastic performance of an incredible song. 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Одна из величайших композиций легендарной группа!!!
First solo starts at 3:53 which is one of my faves to play on guitar (or at least attempt to 😂). I never thought I’d ever see my fave Metallica song played live. Thanks for making my dream come true in Montreal!
i was there in person both nights. by far my favorite concerts ever. also one of my favorite songs they played in arlington. and even though cliff died 30+ years before i was born, i still get teary eyed when the guys talk about him.
thank you metallica for:
1) coming to texas
2) playing all of the songs that i cried to during the concert(orion, nothing else matters, one, fade to black, call of ktulu)
3) staying together through everything that’s happened over the past (almost) 42 years
4) making songs that get me through life, give me something to bond with my friends over, and most importantly that make me happy
thank you so much metallica.
-your biggest fan (from texas at least)
👊🏻💀👊🏻
So happy I was able to hear this song in person! It was incredible. First time it’s ever been played in Texas!
wait.. first time EVER in texas??
It is cool of them to give us all these free concert videos. Thank you, Metallica. RIP Cliff
5:22 - 5:25 you can see James just feeling the vibe and feeling the energy. So cool to see.
Yeah, he and the rest of the band really enjoys playing that song live, nice performance.
Noticed that one of those big bends made a wound string on James guitar go slightly out of tune? He must have biceps on that right hand. But that’s what can happen, he saves it pretty well.
Saw it live. nothing short of amazing. Thank you for 2 fantastic nights. RIP Cliff
amazing performance
Amazing song😍
Groovy🤘🏻
I fucking Love Metallica's instrumentals! Orion is always so beautiful to hear!! RIP Cliff🙏
simply magical...... heavenly..... soul warming...... harmonies . thank you all
Was there both nights with my daughter - absolute perfection both nights 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You really don’t realise how big this m72 tour stage is until you watch the fly around at 1:22 and love the “pulsing purple on stage” tube lights at 1:44 and once again thank you for m72incinima even though it wasn’t live in the uk on the day you played Texas but it felt like I was there in person who ever was in charge of creating those amazing camera shots/ angles you did a fantastic job and 7:15 another epic full stage angle and I love at the end James gives cliff a shout out
Seeing this song played live at download festival 2023 was a spiritual experience. God bless Cliff Burton…
can't believe i saw it in a theatre. this, with the entirety of the setlist, made me so nearly break my neck. it was a birthday present, and i am genuienly so happy i managed to see an entire metallica concert.
No other heavy metal instrumental is this cool.
Congrats on 10M!!⚡
Крутая подача!!!
KIRKY, BABY🎸🤘 ♥️‼️ RIP Cliff
Cliff Burton was one hell of a songwriter! Metallica’s greatest songs were written when he was involved, even after his untimely death. RIP Cliff Burton! Metallica forever🤘🏼
Can't believe an 80's band is still rocking this good in 2023 !!! "Formed in 1981 in Los Angeles by vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich"
This is the most album true performance of Orion I've found on youtube
My favorite Metallica song!!!
"Nós sentimos a sua falta, nós te amamos, Cliff." Quem consegue sentir a energia que o Cliff deixou em suas composições no Metallica, e, na minha opinião, principalmente nessa música, com certeza se emocionou ao escutar isso do James. Cliff sempre estará em nossos corações.
