    Olive oil
    Avocados
    MCT's
    Magnesium(nuts, greens, beans) or magnesium citrate 1,000 mg daily
    Vitamin C
    Probiotics
    2 TBSP ground flax seed (some in smoothy, on salads etc)
    Fruits
    Veggies
    Lots of water (6-8 glasses daily)
    Moving your body!

      Magnesium citrate leads to so much dehydration and electrolyte imbalance in one’s body. If you feel super tired taking Magnesium Citrate, and thirsty all the time it’s cause of the Magnesium Citrate.

    Gluten was causing my constipation for 46 years before I realized it on my own. No gluten, and I poop 2 times a day plus I have very clean wipes! (Sorry, but it's true!)

      There aren't very many people that list gluten as their constipation cause, but boy, it certainly is mine. I can have half a cookie and it will take a week to poop normal again. I actually feel my best when I don't eat any grains whatsoever. Experiment and good luck!

      AgendaInMind, Iv suffered with it for 20 years now, and Finally after i cut out all dairy for a week now I am all of a sudden normal for once. Felt so relieved and upset that I had to endure the pain for such a long time. At the same time I miss milk which I like very much and because I'm a fitness guy I can't consume anymore casein or whey protein powder which has been a staple of my diet for such a long time..

      Winner of a video, been searching for "how to deal with constipation at home" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Qaneah Neynna Takeover - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my co-worker got excellent success with it.

    It took me until I was 65 years old to realize I was lactose intolerant. All my childhood life I suffered with stomach aches and bloating and constipation. Was force fed milk every day at every meal. Had no idea it was causing the problem. Cheese is another culprit. Don't eat any dairy if you have issues. Probably will cure it by stopping those foods. Along with a healthy whole foods diet, that is.

    I have constipation problems & tried Metamucil for a while. Then found out it had Aspartame & stopped taking it. Now am taking 6-8 prunes & a cup of diced papaya a day;both seem to be helping a bit. Will try your tips. Thx for your time & tips! Much appreciated!😊

      Keto (50 grams per day or less) or lower carbs (except fibers) to at least half of the recommended daily intake which about 100 g per day.

    Hello Mark, I have tried grounded flax seeds a couple of times in the past and everytime I consume them, I cannot poop for 2-3 days and have excess seborrheic dermatitis. Well formed Poop is one of the thing that calms down my seborrheic dematitis and makes me feel good about the life I am having.

    My sister was suffering from the constipation from the last
    3 years. She was having acidity, severe rectal
    pain during passing the stool. We took her to so many allopathic doctors, even
    followed some home remedies, but no relief was there. One day I discussed this
    problem with one of my friend. He told me about Planet Ayurveda, we visited

      How do you eat enough fiber if you are on a low carb diet to improve your blood glucose levels. I’ve had constipation. for years!! I’ve tried the magnesium, vita C, probiotics water, flax seed. I have tons of olive oil, seems nothing helps. About the only thing I’m not doing is much exercise… but even when I was exercising regularly… I was still constipated. I’m about to drink a glass full of epson salts….That seems to help…. But terribly drastic .

    Also leafy greens and lots of vegetables nuts and seeds water and exercise. Probiotic pearls daily too.

    if you have a fatty liver or removed gallblader mct oil isn't gonna help cause the production of bile is compromised, I think I have a magnessium deficiency atm, need more salads. Also jsut eating fiber without having probiotics is constipating even more. Still good work mr Hyman.

    Dr Mark I am doing everything right and I still can’t pop, it’s a total mystery. I don’t have diary any more, I cook everything fresh and I exercise daily. I am 65 years old medium build carry the same weight for 40 years. Which is 62 kg. Doctors can’t help me, had a colonoscopy a year ago because I didn’t have a bowel movement for 3 weeks. nobody knows how to help me. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺

    Lucky if i go every 7 to 10 days. been like this for over 40 years. i have done all these things except dairy . I will increase flax and chia with coconut oil, desparate. just found out i have sleep apnea. Will it help to treat? 118 lbs exercise daily.

      Try a dulcolax suppository. It burns but it works when you are desperate. Getting the junk out is step one. Figuring out what is causing the problem is step two.

    Adding more fibrous foods and grains will be like trying to shove more cars onto a already backed up highway traffic jam. Eat more proteins they have fats in them naturally. Beef, lamb and salmon are great for higher protein and plenty of the good fat full of the nutrition the body yearns for but isn't getting. Forcing your digestive system to work 24/7 non stop trying to break down all the fiber you folks are eating. Try a more KETO type way of eating it's much more healthier than anything else you can do for yourselves.

    It's funny and sad that i've had this issue my whole life and i've come across these tips independently and separately (from each other) and it's bitter sweet that they are all here on a video for everyone. Some forms of fiber (insoluble) are tough on me so I stay away from that, however.

    Goats kefir has made a difference to my gut and constipation issues. I also take Magnesium Citrate and I intend to raise the dose, and include vitamin C.

    I’ve been struggling with digestive issues for quite some time but over the past weekend, I couldn’t go at all which put me in ER. Of course they prescribed miralax and 4 days later I still haven’t gotten much relief. Painful full and bloated belly. Decided to fast as I already have a traffic jam going on so not wanting to add to it but what else can you do naturally? Diet has been clean.

    I am on low fiber, soft diet for six weeks because they had to cut my intestine few inches. I eat refine food such as white bread, white rice and few vegetables without skin and seed. I am talking stool softener and laxative every day. I have bowel movement every four days and it’s uncomfortable. Last night I was so constipated and pain full. I have two more weeks for low fiber diet. Please give me some advice.

    I can't get my constipation under control. I was diagnosed with sibo Methane after heavy antibiotics and painkillers. I also have H.pylori and dealing with a stomach ulcer. I got my ulcer under control now for 3 weeks. Cabbage juice, licorice root extract, mastic gum, bone broth. I changed my diet , lost a lot of weight and still having a hard time. I'm on a low fodmap diet because a lot of foods get me bloated with stomach discomfort. I also have shortness of breath sometimes. I'm going to see a Holistic Doctor today, after waiting for an entire hard month. I have all the supplements to get started but I don't even know how to start. My stool is very light in color. I might be low in bile salts but I don't know how to take them. My stomach ulcer is stopping me from taking supplements. I don't want to irritate it. I learned my lesson from taking cheap Garbage zinc. Now I pay attention to supplements that are not synthetic with soy trash too. I went for a 1.3 mile walk this morning. Warm water with 1 zinc carnosine pill to heal my ulcer, bone broth with a scoop of collagen. I'm going to take a spoon of seamoss for more minerals for now. I wish I knew about natural healing herbs and supplements before taking Dangerous Antibiotics. My Doctor destroyed my stomach acid with ppi's, Lied about having too much acid, WHEN IN FACT it was low acid level. I can never trust the western medical anymore. They ONLY treat the symptoms but not the root cause. Its terrible how they are programed to make us customers and not happy cured humans.

      @@linaazmiin7479 First thing to do is, to go see a naturalpath Doctor and get a Comprehensive stool test. You will see what bacterias you need to kill and what good bacteria to improve. Also take a mineral and vitamin deficiency test. You might have Sibo, Candida and maybe low stomach acid. For now try Swedish bitters, digestive enzymes. Stay AWAY from Refined sugars, high fructose Corn Syrup and seed oils. no fast food, no microwave food. BUT a naturopath Doctor or Master Herbalist can fix you.

    I have had bad constipation longtime taking LAXITIVES every other day than one day bell rang of in my head the one thing that helped me is what my grandfather did he drank warm prune juice everyday and I tried that o man 👍 best thing I ever did I'm seventy two and I that alot older and even younger people keeps me regular everyday

    i'm pretty sure it was my constipation that caused my lymphatic cancer (NHL), as the lymph nodes around my lower GI are all swollen.

    What about milk kefir and ghee? I started consuming these two super foods but they're derived from dairy even though kefir are great for ppl intolerant to lactose and ghee does not contain the saturated fats and impurities. What should I do?

    If your constipation is caused by poor diet, then cleaning up your diet will fix it. Otherwise, this doesn’t mean “crap”. You have to get to the source of the problem, otherwise a diet conversation is moot.

    I have been constipated for 2-3 weeks. I fasted and did juice cleanse for 5 days. I'm basically doing all of the things that you mentioned in the video to eat and not eat... Any other tips?

      Try psyllium husk. Its THE ONLY thing that worked for me. I do everything right: a perfect diet, water, exercise, mediation, etc etc. Psyllium husk is the only thing that works for me.

      Try abdominal massage to stimulate peristalsis. There are some excellent videos on UA-cam by both physical therapists and yoga instructors that show you how to do it. Usually works fairly quickly, often a bowel movement within a half hour. Also relieves bloating and gas.

    Ok, big issue with something you said. It is well known that fat+sugar (abs basically everything or almost everything has sugar) it’s extremely detrimental specially if suffering from Candida. The oil I assume is to be had separate from any food. What’s the protocol on this?

    You don’t say anything about the kind of vitamin C, I believe constant use of Laboratory made vitamin C can strip your body of other nutrients and that some vitamin C are good for inducing a poop and others are not, please could you comment and give some guidance.

      Liver is a good source of Vitamin C.

      @Kate Upson Search for non-acidic vitamin C, which is Sodium Ascorbate, and not the lab made Ascorbic acid.
      Or a plant based vitamin C supplement.

    I've had this since I was tiny. I had antibiotics every cold as a kid. I can eat figs wen I can't go but sometimes I have to eat loads which I don't mind cos I enjoy. I eat nuts often. I take vitamin c and walk a lot. I don't drink enough tho. I swapped bad fats for good fats a few years ago and feel better since making the change.

    Hi Doctor, I've been told I have a lot of fecal matter in my body after getting MRI and Ultra sound performed. Would I benefit from getting a colonic hydrotherapy procedure to remove old fecal matter? What are your thoughts about Colonics , good or bad? I suffer from constipation also, but I'm worried about the backup inside me. Thanks.

      If you are going to get one then eat light and very healthy for a few days prior and continue to after or you are wasting effort. A colonic is not a quick fix. Plus be knowledgable about the person giving it and the method used. Yes they is manually and machine. Do not make them a habit. Your body needs to manage elimination this on its own. At least these are things I have learned. For several yrs I got colonics and stopped many yrs ago. Also be checked for HPylori. Many people have this and unknowingly. It’s a simple breath test in a lab. Your dr has to prescribe it.

    im just using up the last of my meat food once a day with some snacks which is less then 1 /3 of my normal meal size anyways. im trying to over come food programming meat and carbs lazy meal prep.

    This is me!! I do all these things, except I can't afford a high quality magnesium supplement of MCT oil. I am also a type 1 diabetic, among other things. What can I do otherwise? I have cut way back on cheese which I think, is the only dairy i get. even with Miralaz, i go maybe once every 3 days or so, unless its small and painful.

    💖Intermittent Fasting is amazing fellow dearly beloved🌏🤲Currently on my 7th day of 4PM to 8AM (16 HOUR) FASTING. I'm having plant-based diet (with egg) from 8AM to 4PM. I'm having samosa with curd (plain unsweetened yogurt), cabbage, garlic, ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper, walnut, dates, atchara (pickled unripe papaya & carrots, etc.) alternating with Kimchi, unsalted butter, and raisin wheatbread. I usually have 1 fresh buko or young coconut juice and meat, citrus fruits, ripe papaya, and apple, etc. before eating the eggs, walnuts, wheatbread etc.. Fruits first in breaking my fasts... I drink warm plain green tea and water as much as I can while fasting. On my 2nd dose of every other day of once a day 1 big cup of cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper, 1 tbsp of honey, and 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil. The chronic on and off inflammation (since 2006 - I have been lacto-ovo vegetarian since December 2006) and ulcers in my body are amazingly healing.

    I’ve been suffering of stomach pains for about as far back as I can remember. Maybe 12 years old and I’m 29 now. I’ve always only been able to #2 at home just cause of the ease of the shower there so I don’t have to use an entire role of TP. The pain had mainly been in my lower left abdomen. Tonight at work was way different. I showed up to work completely fine then gradually ended up hurting so bad I thought about telling my boss I need to walk out and go to the ER. Normally the pain hits hard and I stand still clenching my fists and it goes away for a while till I can be home to go use the restroom. Tonight was difficult it stayed around and got worse o buddy I have never considered going to the ER over it but it’s bad even still right now having gotten home. Idk if it’s combined but it’s causing pain even lower now behind and just around the pubic bone area. Idk what to do. Tonight I was actually scared my inside where going to explode literally. Never been so blotted I look pregnant and never had me entire stomach from the rib cage down to my genitals hurt. If you have any recommendations please feel free to let me know. If it gets worse again tonight I’ll be driving to the ER.

      Amina Soofi I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you can have that taken care of at some point. I found a new dr. and may have another ultrasound on my stomach again soon and doing blood work tomorrow. If I they figure something out I’ll let you know. My new dr is actually wanting to figure out the root cause instead of drugging me up. I promise I’ll get back to you if we figure something out.

    I have been afraid to poo since the end of November when I had a large Type 2 stool which hurt my rectum and made a hemerroid bleed very heavily. It frightened the hell out of me I have not been the same since and am regularly stressed and constipated!

    Eating a healthy amount of fiber helps, but drinking 1/2 cup of prune juice when needed guarantees a bowel movement.

    coming on a "healthy" diet of vegetables and unprocessed foods high in fibre makes me constipated. switching back sugary foods and so called crappy white flour products relieves me..what gives?

      So mamy drs tell u high fiber, nuts, seeds when that only fixes 1 type pf constipation!! Like uve seen like myself n many, it can actually make others worse! Ive dealt w this my whole life n tbh the best ive found is colace softner everyday w prune juice or apple cider-warmed n drank 2hrs after eating. I just found this chick on here Something like Cave Living lady... her name is mary i believe, i found her looking up the digize essential oils for my constipation too n she has great videos that really explains what u asked. Also if ur eating foods w fake sugars, they cause a laxative effect, this is y prune juice n apple cider work bc even tho they dnt have fake sugars, they do have naturally a sugar cld sorbitol n it cam arrigvate ur stomach into going. Hope this helps . Im obsv not a dr just a long time chronically ill person who has tried all this stuff. Good luck to u!! Out of all my illnesses the gi stuff really is the worst!

      Likewise, I went off the standard American diet and went keto with 7 - 10 cups vegetables. I became horribly constipated for months. I went off the veggies and things got better.

      @@Nitronerd since you listed 7 to 10 cups, I'm going to assume that you view dr. Berg videos. I'm a fan of what he puts out there but he does have a personal bias on that specific measurement which he admits not everyone is able to digest. I am considering switching off of Keto so that I can incorporate papaya and pineapple for their natural and helpful digestive enzymes called papain and bromelain. Also, some people absolutely get destroyed by broccoli stems and kale.

      fiber is eaten by microbes (so take probiotics) but when you don't have microbes since you don't digest fiber it just says in your intenstines for ever constipating you

      eggs are not dairy of course....just like vegetable oils aren't made from vegetables...corn is a grain..soy is a bean etc.

      Dairy means animal milk products; mostly from cows, but also goats & sheep. Prior to the 20th century most Europeans couldn't've survived winter without dairy foods. Modern processed dairy products are poison, however.

    any advice for a 2 year old with constipation i recently started her on probiotics to increase good bacteria in the gut also removed dairy although i had her tested for food allergies all came back clear i have tried chia pudding aswel as fruit some times i think shes holding would really appreciate advice thanyou

      Azteca I hear doctors use Miralax to clean someone out gently for a colonoscopy. I'm not comfort able with soiling myself! I don't have a lot of clothes I can get soiled.

      I am working with low thyroid symptoms. MCT oil and Magnesium citrate work. Next strategy is toasting flaxseeds 3-4 minutes to grind.

      I buy spicy avocado dip and eat it with spicy hummus. I have heard you have to be careful with the ingredients they put in some of those products and that making your own is healthier.
