They're necessary to beat the game because it takes so long for sunshrooms to get going but the limited range and low damage is too much a sacrifice for them to be OP. The roof can be really difficult because of all the different zombie types you need to be able to deal with, you have limited space and the roof is slanted so only certain plants can attack the zombies.
Spiff: Ah the tiny short-range mushroom that do hardly any damage. Anyone who has any knowledge of the damage of the plants: It does the same damage as a peashooter.
I remember playing this in 2012 on the ps3 with in 2 player mode with my friends. We completely maxed out the wisdom tree and zen garden, effectively 100% completing the game.
I played this game in secondary school, the pain of never being able to take your save files between computer meant that we always exploited the heck out of it, I remember the fun of discovering a new exploit and being smug while you spread it around, only for someone to take what you found and build on it to make some very stupid combos
PvZ was literally my entire childhood. I made an entire clay model set of every single plants in the game when I was 12 and only my parents know that since I didn't wanted to risk them getting messed up by my friends at school. Little did I know that my mom thought I used sculpt clay and put them all in an oven. That's one thing I'll never forgive her for.

Garden Warfare was seriously one of the best shooters out there - asymmetric factions, fun levels. The "kiddie" aesthetic tended to drive away teenage tryhards which was a plus

Spiffing Brit; *calls a walnut a potato* My brain; AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Here’s a fact, you should plant potato mines 3-4 spaces away from a normal zombie (bucket or cone works too) as that’s how long it takes for it to get ready.
It's a shame there was never a Tea Plant in this game. If there was I think I know exactly what it would do. It would be a support plant. Let me explain. The Tea Plant would heal adjacent plants over time and, while being healed, they would increase their shooting speed by 50 percent. However, Chompers would increase how fast they digest a zombie by 50 percent. This would mean you could place down a Tea Plant, that could be called, Healing Tea, to increase how many strategies a player can implement. Let tea drinkers have Healing Tea in Plants vs Zombies! There's a coffee bean so let us have tea!

The roof can be really difficult because of all the different zombie types you need to be able to deal with, you have limited space and the roof is slanted so only certain plants can attack the zombies.
"Oh you glorious, explosive, suicidal boy" 8:10
Sounds familiar LOL
Not gonna lie, exploits aside. Seeing spiff have fun playing one of my favorite game of all time was the best part of this. Thank you
Your commend had been officially stolen by @Nikolai
Man, these bots really like my comment huh
Spiff: Ah the tiny short-range mushroom that do hardly any damage.
Anyone who has any knowledge of the damage of the plants: It does the same damage as a peashooter.
What?
I refuse ro believe that
@@alex2005z Believe what you want
@@Tree_-wp5zn The damage of the puffshroom and peashooter are the same
Damn really?

Sir, that's a Nut.
But what about these?
every time I hear "this game is a decade old" I'm thinking that in a few years some modern video games will be 2 decades old and flash will be a distant memory
I remember playing this game as a small child. One of the best games of the time. It's amazing seeing the game again after all this time
So this guy has a dirt patch of a yard, zombies do not walk on dirt. Guy rolls out grass for zombies to shamble across and get shot at. Gladiator levels of entertainment.
5:54 my mum when I sit on the couch for 12 seconds
The moment I saw you placed the double line of Sunflowers I knew you too were an OG PvZ player. Well played good sir, well played
Except his plants weren't symmetrical
I love how he explains how you play pvz. As if there are people that haven’t at least heard of it
7:58 “the land mine is able to jump over a potato”- a Brit on too much tea
Spiff who just forgot all concept of plants, zombies, and reality:
"Yes, you see, the land mine (athlete zombie), is able to jump over a potato (pea shooter), which makes him a nightmare"
spiff is so fixated on potatoes that he's starting to sound like an irish man
What a game. I remember absolutely binging it when it came out. Running through endless having a full map with 4 or 5 or those tactical corn missiles mashing them on cooldown
I thought the wallnut was a potato for a decade. Not gonna change it now. I stand with you Spiff
Garden Warfare was seriously one of the best shooters out there - asymmetric factions, fun levels. The "kiddie" aesthetic tended to drive away teenage tryhards which was a plus
I always loved the VS mode on the Xbox 360 version. Playing as the zombies and just spamming Waves is of course Perfectly Balanced.
"The land mine is over the potato which makes him a nightmare" he says as the pole vaulter jumps over a pea shooter at 7:57.
Spiff turning into DemoFlower in the thumbnail lol
I remember pirating this game in 2009, back when "getting" a video game means "downloading them from a suspicious site". Ahh, the memories...
I think I still have the hard disk of the old computer I installed it in stored somewhere
The ds version is more broken there is a glitch where u can place more than one plant on one tile
I own that version, in my collection, but never gor around to playing it. I would love to know how it works. XD.
I played PvZ back waaaaay back in my early computer days. I didn't have it on steam at the time, I think it was on some other kind of website as like a half-gameplay demo sort of ordeal. Eventually got it once I got steam a year or so later
Spiffing Brit; *calls a walnut a potato*
My brain; AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Ahh, yes, I played this game back in the day with my Irish friend... and yes we both thought they had 2 potatoes
Here’s a fact, you should plant potato mines 3-4 spaces away from a normal zombie (bucket or cone works too) as that’s how long it takes for it to get ready.
7:57 "Yes, you can see the landmine is able to jump over the potato..."
I know it was a mistake, but I died laughing at this
-The landmine is capable of jumping over the potato.
😂
There is in two
