- Welcome to the wonderful world of peglin! A peggle like roguelike game where you must traverse a dungeoncrawler style map. Fight bosses and survive ever increasing challenges. Naturally I am going to ignore all of those challenges and play the game exactly the way the developers intended. Today The Spiffing Brit is going to be playing this indie game that is a fun spiritual successor to peggle! The concept is simple you play a little goblin that must throw orbs at enemies. Each Orb will do damage based on the amount of pegs it activates. Issue is that it is entirely possible to just beat the game without doing anything! Hence why today I am going to speedrun this game without actually doing anything. Imagine playing skyrim without using a weapon or even moving and you could simply defeat alduin and all the dragons by looking at them.
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced memes series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold and infinite money all in a fantastic montage. I find it hilarious that even after Spiff had basically already won the game and needed no extra help from relics, he still reset in order to get better ones, lol
That is because if “The Wall” is the boss he will need to get a single orb on the way to it so having good relics still matters

@@zt7621 The Wall insta-kills you if you take to much time, pretty sure it ignores immunity as well. Looking at spiffs damage he likely would have not survived that one.
I do think its funny how spiff kept saying "I look at them and they die". When in reality the goblin just stank really bad from the cheese, that it killed anyone that smelled it.

In total war warhammer there's a similar strat. In the game army units have a "morale" function where in if they drop below a certain point it causes them to retreat. Sometimes they can recover but if they retreat 3 times they're out for good. One of the monster factions can recruit a goat man that has a passive which lowers morale of enemy units simply by him being on the battlefield. It's called "nurgle's foul stink". If you get all of the relevant upgrades and create a 20 unit army of nothing but the goat men you can actually win a battle by causing the entire enemy army, sometimes comprised of several thousand people, to retreat instantly the moment they catch wind of the stinky goat bois.

@@Br0ken_Rob0ts theres this cool exploit that takes quite a bit of time, but if done correctly your company will increase in profits exponentially and your emp loy e units dont get put into the upset state due to their low wages, and you can keep lowering them, and the game wont stop you! isnt that fantastic?

@@10pitate No it wouldn't, he doesn't even come close to having enough damage to kill the wall, and the wall literally eats you, which bypasses all immunity and probably even the revive relic. When the wall eats you, you just die no matter what.
It really says something about this game that this is not the most broken run I’ve ever seen.

That's actually how most of the deckbuilding games work. You think you need to add cards, while usually what you need is 1-3 cards that synergize and get more and more OP.
Well, that also depends on the card pool and how the game is built. I know at least one deck builder game who's winning strat is ALWAYS draw more cards, but it is one where the resource grind is part of every individual round.
The general format: Play your hand of 5 cards with resources on them, use said resources to buy new cards from the buy piles, pass the turn to the opponent to spend the damage resource you accumulated. AI then does their damage to you based solely off of how close to death they are, then repeat your process. First out of health looses the match.
In that context, a draw card gives you access to the resources on cards that were not in your initial hand. Most draw 1s come with a secondary resource, making them a valid investment in all cases, and any of the rarer draw cards that draw more than one just make it less likely to see the cards that only have resources on them. A turn is only capped by drawing all of the cards in your deck or drawing enough bricks that dont have draw power. The ONLY draw cards that are not worth the investment (on their own) are cards who's sole effect is draw 1 without a secondary resource (and even then, certain cards can give them value either by extending combos or providing an unstated resource from a "all other cards you play this turn give +x [resource]"). Powerful cards in the buy piles often cost more resources than is possible to get with just 5 cards from the starting deck of the match, and though the cards you can buy often have more resources per card, it is much harder to get rid of the junk cards in the starting deck to see them consistently without the aid of draw cards. The game only has one counter to use to fight against the obscene draw power players can build: a single enemy modifier that deals a low fixed amount of damage to the player if they zealously draw more than 2 cards in a turn that only triggers once per turn, and only on the game's second level of difficulty or higher. (it is also the most intimidating of the game's enemy modifiers because of how quickly it can spiral if you are not paying attention, and the fact that it is the most common way to take damage on your own turn).
In pegglin terms, it would be like if the game put a limit on the amount of orbs you could reload at once, but there were orbs in the game that would instantly reload more orbs that were on standby if conditions were met. Each extra orb you get is more damage you can deal before enemies get a chance to react (or get a free turn unopposed). Stack enough of the draw orbs to see them consistently and you can take out bosses in one turn with sheer numbers instead of quality.

This is a prime example of why I subscribe. Not only did Spiff become invincible, he did so by actively avoiding the intended mechanics of the game. It's the same reason I play Borderlands, a game with billions of guns in it, completely unarmed and punch people to death.

I notice that Spiff didn't mention that this tactic has a counter built into the game. If you get the boss 'The Wall' on world 2 (a 50/50 chance), the Castle dungeon... you will lose, because Bad Cheese can't do enough damage before the wall reaches you, and it auto kills you instead of doing damage. So... you just lose. The Round Guard won't defend you from it.

@@pyromaniacal13 It does not. If you watch, the Ballista was chosen when Spiff first entered the dungeon, and all his resets did not change the boss to the Wall. Just like the map does not change.

The CPU is a rock tricked into thinking by asking it yes or no questions. All technology is exploits to some extent.
The only thing you have to worry about in this game mode is the wall - the ballista boss was in this run, but if you get the wall it insta-kills after a number of turns.

I was hoppikg sp much for the wall. But that combo is fun. Reloading the relic destroys it and i would not recommend
The answer to that with this build would just be to not remove the orboboros and just manually discard each turn then use orboborbos kill the boss

There’s a DnD goblin creature called a Nilbog that is: Unkillable, If you manage to kill it it just transfers to the nearest goblin and posses its body and resumes doing its thang, it basically damages you through attrition by making you dance until others kill you or you die of exhaustion.

There's also a way to get your crits to scale exponentially every time you hit a crit button. Combine that with either the item or the orb that makes crits everywhere, and the items that do the same to refreshes and makes them crits, and you can easily start having damage numbers in scientific notation.
That's a little less broken in that at least you're still interacting with the game's mechanics.

I think the wall could hard counter this build in the castle stage, I don't know but I think it ignores "dont take damage during reload" and insta kills you when it reaches you

If you get the wall as the boss you just level up one orb really high and its an easy win. Sell the orb when you hit world 3. Usually the easy run of combat means you can focus on getting lots of relics without issues
Yeah I was thinking the same thing but I think the play is to keep some singular strong orb or even two if you get ambidextionary and just do damage normally as well as doing this

The amount of frustration this game has caused me. Just got killed by the dragon boss in the third world when I had orbs and relics that made me able to deal near 1000 damage per shot. It was the layout of the level that screwed me over cus I couldn’t get the orbs to go anywhere except the sides😭
Spiff, I had to try your method of beating Peglin myself. I must say it was harder than I thought, the first 3 times I managed to get the right items and event I died in World 2 due to the wall boss. But somehow I still wanted to win using your strategy and managed on the fourth try. Now I am happily pegging with my favorite orb (allorbnothing) again.
For those curious, this game does have a custom game option that lets you choose your starting relic and orbs

So one thing that wasn't mentioned, though probably has been mentioned elsewhere in the comments, is that there are two bosses for the second act, and the one that he didn't get can't be beaten with this method. Though he may have been able to potentially just find one orb at the start of the act to be able to kill that boss, so it may not have been a complete loss.
I've seen this build used several times by other youtubers, it'll probably never be nerfed as it is a totally valid build if you get the right stuff. What they may fix is exiting to the menu reseting shops and chests, that's what makes it broken as you won't have random stuff anymore and can force this to happen.

i knew about this combo to an extent, getting ourobouros and then either getting another orb and removing it or offsetting the self-damage with the healing item, but i didn't know you could delete your last orb, nor that you can exit to menu and load back in to change the items in chests
I love that this is a thing that you can actually do in the game and can sometimes happen even if you don't reload the game to get it.
What if you played against the wall in the second level? That kills you if it gets close automatically

@@Rrrandomiser1234 it wont work as the wall do not deal dmg, it just instantly trigger game over. However it could be solved by just by an orb and kill the boss then sell the orb at world 3

I discovered most of this exploit a while back, before Orboroborus was updated with the 'take 4 damage when you discard', so I essentially had the same strat manually reloading.
Brilliant game for any wondering, highly recommended.
The item that heals you when you reload would cancel out that damage, so he probably could have kept orboroboris

The world of cheese is a complicated subject, especially in videogames. just ask Bubsy the Bobcat (from Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind) or the Dragonborn. They'll have different stories to tell.
Imagine getting this setup and then getting the wall boss 😂
A very small wooden shield making you immune to fire, giant ballista bolts, being hit with hundreds of pounds of force... Absurd. Oh, and then, you also have extremely rotten cheese that makes it so that anything that walks near you instantly dies. You also have an infinite supply of well cooked steak on you, for some reason. It manages to keep you satiated.
You forgot to mention that there is a counter to this strategy, the castle boss can be the wall which insta kills you no matter what. What I'd suggest to do if you want to attempt this run, is get a pretty strong orb that doesn't damage you when you skip it and just skip it all the time until you get to his fight
I think it can damage you up to 6 hearts/skip, as that your regeneration

@@DrGandW sure, but you have more time to make a 1 orb build if you use the first world as well
Simply keeping the Orboros would've served that purpose well, specifically once healing is obtained. The Orboros could then be skipped without worries about dying from self-damage, while having a backup in case the wall boss shows up (or boredom creeps in).
I remember doing this a few months ago, it was awesome… until I died to the wall

It's said that it's glare kills you oh so slowly and none of the known attack had even put a scratch atop his green skin. And it's told that anyone who dared raise their blade against him lost the light in their eyes, truly terrifying
It reminds me a lot of Path of Exile, where with all the diversity and flexibility of building creation you can do things like that (obviously bridging the gap), the difference is that while here it can be an actual "mechanic", in Path of Exile at next patch they nerf the build, change the interaction, ruin other builds by accident and the next patch it repeats all over again
Which is just insane since every "good" build is just a different flavor of "insta-kills everything on screen." I don't know why they bother trying to make some builds less effective at this when that's all the game ends up being for everyone anyway.
Been watching Spiff for a while, it's only now (that I'm high as all heck), that I've TRULY appreciated him as he should be.

As soon as i saw Peglin show up, I hope you were doing this combo. I didn't think you needed to have your orbs at zero. Got the combo before the shop was a thing. I just discarded the one orb I had, and it was refreshed with that.

The shop update didn't break the game at all. It actually balanced it a bit more and gave the player an actual chance at higher difficulties.
It did break the game, by making it significantly less time consuming to get perfect runs with quit/continue
@MrMetra101 save quits broke the game. The shop update without abusing a feature is balanced. I use save quits to attempt a fight multiple times but I never use it for perfect runs. And custom runs are a thing for a reason.
@@MrMetra101 lol it's not "breaking the game" if it's a very obvious exploit that you have to go out of your way to perform. Just play the game as intended and don't cheat and it's great.

The map reminds me of slay the spire which u should definately exploit with infinite dmg in a turn. Would be very entertaining

The fact that the relic you're using to cheese the game is actually cheese is just amazing.
He's the kind of guy to cheat the library of babel to give him the secret to immortality.
But does this work when you come across the demon wall as an endboss to the castle? I'd imagine you wouldn't do enough damage by the time it reaches you - does the no damage whilst reloading relic actually protect you from that considering it's a one hit kill?
Tried it myself - a run with bad cheese and round guard ends at the demon wall - nothing can protect you from its attack if it reaches you. It's the one weakness of this build

Epic as always, but there is one problem with this strat for anyone trying to replicate it. One of the potential bosses on the second level is the Demon Wall. It does no attack damage, but it will instantly kill you if it reaches you. It has the largest health pool of anything in the game, and you're just not going to be able to do enough damage to it before it reaches you.
If you have to fight the Wall, obtain a decent Damage-Dealing Orb and Upgrade it before reaching the Boss Battle - as long as you only have One Orb, you can still Reload every other Turn, healing off damage, and you can then Remove the Orb again once you've entered Stage 3...

The enemies die because of the spiritual pressure of the goblin alone. He doesn't need to fight. His divine presence alone is enough to kill lesser life forms.
I'm convinced this man just has a filter he can apply to images to make them look like they were taken from a stock photos website.
I want a counter on how many times he said "i cant take damage during reloading"

This reminds me of an achievement in "Night of the full moon" (one, in my opinion, of the best mobile and/or card games there is).
You deal damage by playing cards. But if you manage to get the right equipment and/or blessings, you can kill the enemy without even playing one. (well, after getting the stuff, of course)
I highly recommend the game. And this type of deck is a lot of fun. Can even be achieved with just the knight.
