This isn't the first time Paradox specifically has hired Spiff to break their games. They get promotion, quality control, and tea. It's really a perfectly balanced scenario for them.

The devs benefit hard from sponsorships like this. They paid Spiff for one video, and in turn found several dozen _features_ they didn't in their own playtesting! I wish devs did stuff like this more often!

While actual QA professionals are a resource that are woefully underappreciated and undervalued(most the time), shipping your game to Spiff to be broken is just a smart thing to do in any case :D And if you happen to make a game that Spiff can't exploit, well, that would certainly be a box cover note better than any "X gave it 10/10".

My friends were playing a DnD campaign, and one of them had in possession of them, an egg. He then proceeded to name it The Spiffing Brit and put it in a Boston Tea Party Teacup. When it hatched, he gave it a mustache, a monacle, and a four-peice suit. Later, it went up to a demon with a mustache, focused really hard, then one that was almost-perfect grew on it. It currently has +4 Vicious Mockery.
I like paradox games, so I buy them. If it has a DLC I want, I buy it. If I don't, I am satisfied with the free content patch. It's really that simple. Now, if you don't, I don't care.

It doesn't matter if it's Infinity Ward that makes the game, or if it's Treyarch that makes the game or Sledgehammer Games that makes the game... They just cycle the studios and there's one thing guaranteed battlepasses and DLC... for all eternity.
What's crazy is Ursa Ryan did basically this same strat totally "legit" on a random okay start and without the age of blood and still managed to get like 20 vassals or so by midgame and just absolutely ran away with the game on the highest difficulty. They probably need to cap the forced marches/reinforcement uses per unit per turn and fix the math so you can't be paid gold to have army, and maybe reduce the amount of healing those raiders get or something. Local reforms lets you giga capital while still spawning a ton of units and taking a ton of vassals. Then if you want some more cities later you can just integrate the best ones whenever. This build can get pretty unhinged.
The issue here is the ai is really bad at defending its cities, a very basic defense should stop this. Also this a game that's balanced around every being powerful, which spif does explain.
So many tubers known for exploiting these games have been doing videos on this. This is the best fine tuning and bug-quashing method for a game I've ever seen.

Given Jon’s overall knowledge of the game and your propensity for breaking every game you get your hands on, it could make for some interesting content.
From one brit to another, I believe we should rename London into Spifftopia. It's as intricate and elaborate as fine "British" art taken from only the finest French painters and is far less glum than London.
Been binging spiff for the last 3 nights, a 12 hour shift is certainly far more enjoyable with that beautiful British accent. Glad to have a new video finally
This was really awesome to see. Exceptional bug exploitation! The raiders were amazing to watch snowball. But I am a tad disappointed that we didn’t really get to see _why_ vassals swell to become more powerful than owning a city.
There are some calculation bugs with prosperity meaning if you focus government types that boost yields to the point where they will pay you 4x a normal city in gold and research. They also provided 900 warfare xp per 300 gov xp and 400 diplomacy xp per turn. oh and 4500 improvement points as well :D
Most of Spiff's exploits are just minor oversights that can be used in ridiculous ways. But this? This genuinely makes absolutely no sense. There can't POSSIBLY be a way to counter this. The Age of Blood is so powerful for combat focused players and so detrimental to the rest, that it seems like there would be no reason to do anything else. Though, I guess I am thinking about PvP, and I don't even know if it's in this game lol

I'm always giddy when I see a turn based strategy game do those cute little battle animations (much love to Advance Wars and Military Madness). The battle animations here are even better because they look like those fake mobile game ads. Seeing the military airships bomb those iron age looking guys has big "level 100 mafia boss vs level 1 crook" energy to it...
