5-Minute Warm Up for At-Home Workouts

- Before any workout-and especially a high intensity one!-it's important to prepare your body. Depending on the type of workout you're about to do and any muscle imbalances or recovering injuries you have, a proper warm up will vary. In general though, you want to include some light-to-moderate cardio to gradually increase the heart rate and some dynamic (active) stretches for joint mobility.
This 5-minute warm up is made with the at-home workouts I post to my channel in mind. We'll start with two minutes of cardio bodyweight exercises and then move onto active stretches for a functional range of motion.
FYI all my newer UA-cam workouts include a warm up at the start.

Hi everyone! Wanted to share a couple other warm ups I have on my channel:
-10-MIN WARM UP FOR HIIT WORKOUTS: ua-cam.com/video/B6q8F06kpyw/v-deo.html In this one, we'll start with some Pilates-inspired, gentle mobility work, then go into cardio (jumping is optional), and finish with a little more mobility. I recommend this one if your body doesn't love starting out with the light cardio.
-7-MIN GENTLE WARM UP (NO JUMPING): ua-cam.com/video/fNJfhtfTJKY/v-deo.html Very similar to this 5-min warm up, but the pace is slowed down and it's all low-impact (no jumping during the cardio). If you found this 5-min warm up to be a bit too intense or fast-paced, I recommend this alternate.

Good warm up, I thought I'd try it as it's Getting cooler in the mornings in the U.K.
However, it does miss ankles, and parts of the spine. So would recommend a few cat to cow stretches and ankle mobility (If going for a run or Zumba etc...)
You don't HAVE to do a full blown workout after this. A good stretch after this is really refreshing. This is a great warmup video for any workout type!

EmilyKun NO! You should sit in a chair for the leg section, and remove some of these. This should be labeled ADVANCE WORKOUT! Do NOT GET DISCOURAGED, I lost over 350lbs, and I’m about to loose 100 more by 2020!

this is really intense and i’m so glad for that! in other warms up i’ve found they don’t rly quicken my pulse and then i find it harder to complete my workout. definetly doing this warm up again

@@jyothidlable would love to see a fatloss vegan or vegetarian diet plan. They seem almost non existent! Whoever does one is going to make a lot of money and gain a wider audience. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I have reduced eating meat dramatically. I have not eaten meat since Feb and not really missing it but I have not given it up. I just wanted to see how I would feel etc. I do love vegan/vegetarian meals and many meat eaters do without realising. For example, quiches, cauliflower cheese etc. Yes. A meat free balanced diet would be great for newbies wanting to go vegetarian or vegan. I certainly would be taking part.

That’s a decent warm up! I train kickboxing most days and was looking for an easy warm up rondo in a cold garage to get my body ready...and this one works. Nice!

I appreciate this warm-up routine lasting just 5 minutes. It does serve its purpose well. But I observe that the upper torso has not been given its due place of attention. Perhaps you can revise and republish another one soon on these lines.

This was very beginner friendly, an typical moves you see in a warm up. If it helps watch the videos first and then do the exercise
You could slow it down on settings to 0.75 and see if it works better
