Mrs. Obama Isn't the Only Person Feeling Depressed | Dr. Rheeda Walker

Recently First Lady Michelle Obama shared in her podcast that she has been experiencing low grade depression. Today, I want to unpack more about what low grade depression could look like. It may not be what you think it is. Because we are living in a global pandemic with prolonged physical distancing, and political inaction accompanied by pervasive racial injustice, varying levels of depression would be understandable. As a clinical psychologist, I want to shed light on dimensions of depression so we can all better understand its complexities. Depending on the level of depression, you may find yourself in crisis, if so, call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline or send a text to the Crisis Text Line at 741741.
