From an interview with members of the band when asked about the use of two vocalists:
"For the aggressiveness of it, it's like, one can rest and breathe while the other one is going nuts, and then the other one can take over, that's what I wanted to achieve, it's like, I didn't want to give the listener a lot of breathing room, I just want it to be full on, all the time."
I am one of two vocalist in my band and that is the exact reason we have two vocalists
Sam Gawith what band? You've intrigued me now
Meshuggah and After The Burial are just are relentless with their one vocalist. None of the rest of the band gets to take a break. What makes these two vocalists so special?
@@3van1993 because it's their band.
@@timotheecena5951 no two vocalists anymore

Water has fokall to do with it. Long dark winters...gives birth to a very unique metal!!
I googled it. Its actually full of Thall.
Here's an original idea: Make the whole Sweden a band.
Here's an original comment^^
After 5 members it should be just a communal effort
One does not Thall with less than 5
Lolllllllllll
You better do it quick before they all become radical islamists.

For real
I come back to this video every year
ten years later and this sounds as fresh as it did back then.
it's been 10 years??? and I still find myself coming back :o
Well im old now. Thanks mate.
Guess what - 12 years later - still solid. Let's check back in a year or two.
We made it boys, the new album has finally landed.
Waiting on my vinyl 😭🤩
New Vildhjarta brought me here strangely enough so I'm experiencing Vildhjarta in reverse and both albums absolutely destroy.

Riff at 1:16 is still one of the most awesome riffs I've ever heard.
Literally cannot stop myself from head banging at that part lol
That’s how I feel whenever I listen to the entirety of Masstaden 🤣🤣🤣 Absolute perfection.
I have been listening to countless extreme-music oriented bands for over 15 years and even worked in the industry for around 10 years and I consider this album to be the very best of all albums ever within the very wide and diverse 'metal' genre. One of the very few to be able to move me until I reach a state of near-trance. Their music sticks to my bones, veins and guts in an almost surreal way. Most underrated band.

I don't listen a ton of djent, so can someone explain why people are saying that these guys are Meshuggah ripoffs? I mean sure, they djent a shitload but their song structures, vocals, riffs etc etc are completely different. It's like saying that Joe Satriani is ripping off Steve Vai because they play shred and play in similar styles.
If yo take a look at most of the stuff posted on the internet, you'll figure out very quickly that most people are just fucking stupid.
***** You win. Best UA-cam comment ever.
I can't really find anything valid to confirm a rip off either. In my opinion Meshuggah's songs are more "static" and firm (riffs and vocals) whilst Vildhjarta's has more movement and fluid songs. Both are great bands though!
Alex Wayne This isn't deathcore ya know
Progressive death metal is what I would call it. But I understand what you mean by deathcore, since I assumed it was too until further listening so I don't blame you.
the "djent scene" needs more atmospheric bands with chaotic riffs like vildhjarta
Paulo Granthon. Try "Ivy and wine" by gasscloud
lol, i love glass cloud

***** fucking yes
Humanity's Last Breathe, this is a great thall band!
I love how they have "Thall" written on the guitars... :)
on the drum as well :v
People complain about the open string "abuse" yet they don't realize that its necessarily necessary for them to use more in some of the passages. Some of you may detest the whole 0's thing, but a lot of you people aren't listening to the track as a whole. You're fixated on the individual instruments. Can you not hear the carefully composed ambience in the background? Which was, by the way, done with a guitar. Its like complaining that a cello is constantly using one note to beef up the low end in a piece, while the violins are clearly doing something else to further the track as a whole. Frankly, these guys are one of the rare and few bands who take to making truly melodic metal. They give me many feels.
Finally someone that understands the band!! these guys are amazing...
well said!
I'd also like to add that Vildy is probably the only band I have ever heard to get literally a GROWL out of their palm mutes while retaining excellent single note clarity. Sounds like Cerberus himself. So gud.
Vigil Serus perhaps one of the most insightful comments I've ever read on UA-cam - I can tell you truly appreciate metal music
The dislikes could also originate from just this particular song or band, not necessarily against all djent in dgeneral, i personally really enjoy born of osiris (repetative solo stuff and keyboards is just beautiful sounding to me. . .yep beautiful) but this band is great aswell talent, composure all them things come into play, i liked it lol.
its hard to put into words exactly how amazing this song is structured. When you take into account the rhythmic value of not having a single piece of silence and still manage to achieve maximum emotion during all the highs and lows without sacraficing the momentum of song. 11/10 a true master piece.
Been listening to nothing but meshuggah for months. First time listening to this band I’m loving it. I can totally see how they are inspired by meshuggah, but I think they sound unique and refreshing in ways as well.
update i have just listened to this song 13+ times in the past 4 days
@@taranloses thall
the two vocals combination is making this so epic i like how the vocals are not at the same time but following one another
I love how when I visited Northern Europe with my dad, that everyone there was so nice and cheerful and accommodating. But then, you have their music, which is ear shattering, gut busting metal that scares little kids for miles around when played. What a part of the world that is.
When life is good, it's important to also explore the dark corners of humanity, to keep the mind balanced.
Do a Google image search for "metal bands per capita". We really are happy angry bastards here in scandinavia🤣
Lyrics:
I don't blame you for these disasters and tragedies.
You sold your knowledge to sink the silent cries of pain.
Since you don't understand, I know you won't complain.
Come taste this poisoned daggers blade.
The difference is vague between truth and fake.
Come taste this blade.
You are closer to me than you may think.
This is a lie designed to keep you weak.
A mirror maze of shadows and glass.
Reflections will trick your eyes.
I speak and keep disguised.
It takes a critical mind to broach the lies.
A most devious reason resides within me; entangled up and floating out.
Not that it will matter more, but this must be made clear:
This is not a confession, this is more like a betrayal.
And I will let you know the truth, and you know it's your turn now.
x2
I have since long stopped pretending to stand on your side.
And you know it's your turn now.
Days have gone and nights have passed, still the illusion is maintained,
An undertaking faced with risk, and now it's too late to dodge away.
It's too late to dodge away.
Come taste this poisoned blade.
x2
It's too late to dodge away.
These words are really empty. I left you, I left you with nothing else.
It's all lies when you only know the low without the high.
These words are really empty. I left you with nothing else.
It's all lies when you only know the low without the high.

I’ve been going back through older music recently, and goddamn I forgot how good this band is.
They way they play those riffs way up on the neck of the guitar gives it a frantic, almost schizophrenic, quality. Imagine a person speaking through gritted teeth.
Their music always seemed like a journey into human madness.
I just love that guitar tone.
Laser beams!
Me too. I dunno what it is about it but its fucking amazing
Aren't you that stupid fiction character my son is afraid of?
Yeah, you could say it's... Killer!
Cut all the bass out, blast the treble, and add in a shit ton of compression, double it up with two guitarists and a bassist. It hits fucking HARD.
The first time I heard this band, years back, was right after the first time I heard Animals As Leaders....so..there was, like, already a bunch of shit in my pants.
Vildhjarta is music evolution. It’s complete something new, something unlike the rest.
To bad history shows that true geniuses are underrated till they alive.
While they're alive or till they die*
lol something new. They’re literally copying a Meshuggah album that came out in 2002.
Meshuggah started this whole sound and humbly go about their buisness making albums and touring steadily.

Matthew Sbar Ah yes... When a joke gets taken WAY too seriously... 😂😂
I think every single one of the band members has to be recognized as very talented, the timing of every single one of them is amazing. For the singers to cooperate the way they do, and for the band to play in unison through the whole thing, it takes a lot of skill. And I really admire this band for that. And I still keep getting the feeling that no two rhythmic sections are alike in the song, probably because they aren't, but it still blows me away every time!
Actually mental that this video is so nearly 10 years old... Love the new album!
I like how the entire band delivers the intense headbanging this song requires. Feels so satisfying.
Vildhjarta helps me getting through a lot of shit. This band is refreshingly talented, I mean listen to the drum work and the riffs and the combination of the two vocalists. Awesome.
COME TASTE THIS BLADE 1:08 - 1:30 Fucking heavy as shit.
This is what black metal bands think they sound like.
"These words are really empty". It's comforting to hear a band reaffirm the artistic usage of [pusedo-visual] metaphors for intangible emotions. This is brutal honesty and a contemporary/sociologic reality check.
UNDER WATER GANG WHERE WE AT?
Seeing this having almost 2 Million views after following this band since the first demo's on youtube makes me so happy! These guys deserve it, just like a lot of other bands.
