Thank you for explaining perfectly how the drills can be in the multiplacers. I get sooo many nasty messages that my tips don’t work or they pick some up and not others and my tips are not a true size. I try and explain all drills are different size and shapes and it really does matter about how the wax has to be even in the tips and you explained it all and never once blamed my tips being the fault...ty ty ty 🙏🏼😘
Are you kidding?? I would never blame your tips - your tips are the best tool I have, and they are as perfect as they can be. I will never be without a set of Everlasting Tips again. Absolutely tip top quality and worth every penny and more! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Keep at it Clare. I started with a 3-placer and worked with that until I was completely comfortable with it, then switched to a 4-placer, then a 7-placer. I've been using the stainless steel Everlasting tips in 6- and 9-placer models, and they are wonderful. Worth the price once you are confident with multi-placers and know you want to keep on using them. Good luck and happy diamond painting! ❤️🤗😊
Hello! I’m a complete newbie at DP and I absolutely love it! I’m struggling with multi placing and this was very helpful! Thank you so much for sharing all these tips! I will definitely be putting them to use!
Thank you, Rose for all your great tips! Scooting them across the tray at an angle made all the difference. Just in time for a bunch of color blocking on Snake Charmer
Thanks so much for this video! Filled with great tips! You can teach an old dog new tricks!! Actually placed 3 drills at same time!!! Do you need thinner tips to be successful at this? Remember video saying that tips that came in kits were “too fat” to get drills close together. Thanks again for this very helpful video!!!
Hi Liz - yes, some of the plastic tips have thicker edges, so I personally couldn't ever get used to using them for square drills. The fat ones are the ones that are clear plastic. The white plastic multi-placers tend to have thin edges and are great for square drills. With the white plastic multi-placers, they confirm to the shape of the drill type you're using, so I used them only with square drills. Practice makes perfect, so keep on placing drills with the multi-placer. I used a 3hplacer for probably 4 or 6 month before I ever tried using a 4-placer. ❤️🤗💗
OMG! I’m working on my first double-sided adhesive diamond painting (my third diamond painting ever), and I’m about to lose my mind trying to scooch drills into place. I so needed to hear your tips tonight! Thank you!!! I’ve been trying to practice using a multiplayer also. I saw how the multiplayer helped me keep the drills straighter, but your tip to place the end down and scoot up, then use the edge of the tray to align them was great! My squares were a little wonky because this set of drills aren’t all the same size. Also the grooves on my tray are a little wider than the squares, which allows them to become misaligned before they’re picked up with the pen. Your tip will save me a lot of time and stress. Thank you so much for your videos. I really enjoy watching you.
Marsha, I'm so very glad this video had some helpful tips for you! Thanks so much for your feedback, and keep practicing with the multi-placer. It will get easier, I promise! 💗😊🤗
@@nancyshepherd-halter2450 Rose, would like to see that also. I am using this putty but I’ve filled to just flat in the pen, this looks like a small ball on the end of the pen. Was that because these are crystals or should we have a mound of putty?
@@ellentaylor8857 @Nancy Shepherd - I do try to flatten the putty in the pen, and for the first few times I use the refilled pen, the putty will ooze out a bit. So then I "cut" it off. I scrape the sides of my multi-placer along my desk or the silicone mat I use to rest my hand. I might have to do this a couple or 3 times. Eventually, the depth of the putty in the pen is just right, and there's no more ooze. Then I can drill for a long time without refilling my pen. I will do another short video about this to demonstrate. 😊
Hi Rose, I am working on a DAC square canvas. This is my first painting in squares! The canvas is A Hawaiian Girl and her dog! I fell in love with the picture now I am working in squares! The drills are to small and not high like your drills. There is white space all around the drill. I bought this kit about a year ago. Thank you Rose …. Oh by the way it seems to be all colors. I wonder if they buy different square drills now! What do you think I should do? 💙💎💙💎💙💎💙💎Ricki Lieberman
Hi Ricki - I have a few square DACs, but I haven't worked on any of them yet. I'm kinda scared because I've heard from a few people that their square drills aren't very good. That would be super disappointing. I would contact them and let them know there's a problem with your drills, and ask if you can get replacement drills for the colours that are problems. They may want to see photos for proof. Be nice when you contact them, though, because I've heard they blackball anyone who says anything bad about them. Good luck! ❤️🤗
Do you work on a slanted surface (easel/drafting table) or flat. I like the idea to use the side of the tray as a guide to where you are because I tend to lose my place by chasing symbols. Of course I’m not much for multiplacing, prefer confetti still. Fairly new to this craft but I am getting more adventurous.
I just received my bear from Spell Queen. He’s cute. Do I post receipt of canvas here or on FB group, or not at all? Haha. I can’t remember. And, I don’t know how the pretty lotus flower fell in my cart with the bear, but it’s so pretty.
I’ve had a very sad experience with Spell Queen. 2 kits so far are not good. Square and round. After their Holiday is over I hope I can be refunded. Drills are not good and do not cover image. Anxious to see your thoughts.
Hi Judy. I am so, so sorry to hear about your Spell Queen experience. I saw a photo of a WIP from a friend today, and she is having issues with the square drills being way too small. I haven't started any of the kits I received yet, but I will be working on one of them beginning March 1, and will definitely provide feedback during the month about my experience, and viewers who are drilling along with me on the Bear in the Meadow will hopefully share their experiences too, along with photos of their progress. I'll also do a full and detailed post-completion review at the end. I think today is the last or second last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, so I hope you get satisfaction from Spell Queen soon.
@@RamblingRoseandDiamondPainting They do have good customer service. I do send pictures etc. I ordered 6 and they are refunding me. I’m afraid to start on the others. Drills aren’t the best but the main issue is canvas. That’s why your friend is having same issue. I started on a round and the numbers are too close and drills are too crowded. Such a shame. Make sure your friend complains!!! It’s the only way they can resolve issue. Thanks for replying.
This video is expertly done and professionally executed. Please accept my gratitude from one who has tried multi placing and failed. I now walk away with a fresh perspective of how to multiplace. Your video has provided me with the knowledge of how to multiplace and continue practicing, knowing that each attempt may not be the best. But I now will persist with working my way thru and not give up. I thank you so very much for your efforts to make multi placing a part of my diamond painting experience. Highly motivated. sparklynnglitter
I'm so glad you found this helpful, Linda. It took me a long time to get comfortable with a 3-placer before I moved on to a 4-placer and then larger multi-placers. I thought I'd never be able use a 6 placer! Another tip I forgot to mention in the video is I have found that the clear plastic multi-placers work best with round drills, and the white plastic ones are great for either round or square, but don't use the same white multi-placer for both round and square drills because round drills are bigger and will stretch the plastic so square drills won't fit in it properly. 😊
The big one I'm working on is a full crystal with 25 colours. I'm hoping to finish it tonight. It's so beautiful!! I'll show you on Saturday of you like. 💗❤️🤗😊
This video has so many helpful tips, I’m going to watch it again. Thanks so much!
